Norbert J. Boegel

Norbert J. Boegel, 84, of Jackson, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
He was born May 27, 1916, in Washington County, to the late William and Mary Boegel, and on June 28, 1933, married Loraine M. McCarthy at Holy Hill.

She passed away Jan. 21, 1988.

Norb was a life-long resident of Washington County, settling in Jackson in 1934.

He became employed as a carpenter, working for Groth Construction and also Leo Thelen. Later, he, along with Archie Flitter, started their own business. Together they built and remodeled many area homes.

Norb's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and working in his garden.

He was a charter member of the SSgt. Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post 486, where he was a member for over 55 years.

Survivors include a son, Ken (Portia) of West Bend; a grandson, Nick Boegel of Germantown; a sister, Lori Grafmeier of Kaukauna; members of Loraine's family from North Dakota; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a son, Gary in 1974, and two brothers, Arnold and Oscar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 10, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

Fr. John Wutscheck will be the presider (please meet at the church), and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The family has asked that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society.

Norb's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Listwan, his nurse Judy, the staff of St. Joseph's Community Hospital, and especially the fourth floor staff at the Samaritan Health Center.

Michael Szabo
Michael Szabo, 78, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Michael was born April 1, 1923, in Yugoslavia, to the late Martin and Maria Szabo, and emigrated to the United States in the early 1950s.

He farmed in the Allenton area for over 40 years, and also worked for Mercury Marine for 33 years.

Survivors include his wife, Maria (nee Krispler); a son, Michael (Marianne) Szabo of Libertyville, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Kelsey and Sophia Szabo.

Preceding him in death were two sons, Ervin and Gary.

Visitation at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Wednesday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m.

Rev. Mike Petrie will officiate, and interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nenno.

Marjorie G. Yoost
Marjorie G. Yoost, nee Berndt, 83, of West Bend, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001, at her residence.

She was born March 17, 1918, in Milwaukee, to the late Edward and Ella (nee Lauterbach) Berndt, and married Wilmer W. Yoost on June 28, 1947, in Milwaukee.

After their marriage they moved to West Bend and Marge became a legal secretary at the Schloemer Law Office, working there for 30 years until retiring in 1982.

She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend, St. John's Ladies Aid, the Altar Guild and The Daughters of Concordia.

Her husband passed away on Jan. 9, 1988.

Marjorie is survived by a son, James (Marlene) Yoost of West Bend; a granddaughter, Carrie Ann (Craig) Broker of Hartford; her twin sister, Gertrude Berndt of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Ruth Yoost of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will be Friday at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. John's Ladies Aid are appreciated by the family.

Eugene J. Werner

A funeral service was held Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grafton for former village trustee Eugene J. Werner who died at the age of 73. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton. Mueller Funeral Home of Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Werner was born on Jan. 7, 1928 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Arthur and Evelyn (nee Hahn) Werner. He married Lucile Bailey on Oct. 21, 1973. He served in the United States Army from Jan. 8, 1946 to Oct. 14, 1948. Mr. Werner worked as the building inspector and town assessor for Cedarburg. He was a lifetime member of the Grafton Lions Club, American Legion Post 355 Grafton, was a trustee on the Village of Grafton Board and on the building committee for the Grafton Fire Dept.

Survivors include: wife Lucile of Grafton; children Sandra (Dale) Allen of Saukville, Jeffrey Werner of Florida and Kristin (Steven) Schauer of Fredonia; grandchildren Laura, Kayla and James Allen, Joseph and Renee Schauer; sister Betty Michal of Ocala, Fla.

Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Mildred "Midge" J. Vogt

A funeral service was held Wednesday at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Mildred "Midge" J. Vogt, of Grafton, who died on April 8, 2001, at the age of 87. Rev. Pete Peterson officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Burial was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.
Mrs. Vogt was born May 10, 1913 in Palmer, Iowa, the daughter of James and Aloma (nee Reimer) Jensen. She married the late David Vogt on June 17, 1939 in Missouri.

Survivors include: stepsons Harold (Marilyn) Vogt of Colgate, Jack (Gay) Vogt of Iowa, Robert (Barbara) Vogt of Iowa; sister Ruby Johnson of Iowa.

Further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ozaukee County Humane Society are appreciated.

Irene Mueller

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Irene Mueller (nee Butzke) of Cedarburg, who died at the age of 87. Burial was held at Immanuel Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Mueller was born in Mequon, Sept. 3, 1913, the daughter of the late Paul and Adela (nee Rintelman) Butzke. She married the late Werner Mueller on Oct. 10, 1936. She worked for Doerr Electric and The Cedarburg News. She was involved with many organizations with Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: children Glenn (Bonnie) Mueller of Irmo, S.C., Thomas (Sally) Mueller of Oregon, Dale (Mary Ellen) Mueller of Cedarburg; daughter-in-law Susan Mueller of East Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren Michael (Carol), Michelle (Leon) Wipperfurth, Paul (Becky), Melissa (Sean) Cooley, Andrea, Russell, Emily, Jodie (Chris) Poe, Chad (Rebecca), Eric, Tim, John Kyle and Danny; sister Elda Wegner.

Further survived by 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 children, James and Grace.

Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church or your choice appreciated.

Leah Evelyn Jeutter
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on April 21 at the Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville for Leah Evelyn Jeutter (nee Ledebur), 83, who died on March 30, 2001. Family will receive friends and family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Jeutter was born on March 3, 1918 in Tionesta, Penn.

Survivors include: children Mary Pat McGeary of Richmond, Va., Dean C. (Chris) Jeutter of Grafton; grandchildren Aaron D. (Jennifer) Jeutter of Grafton, Rachel McGeary of Richmond, Va., David (Nicole) McGeary of Philadelphia, Penn., Meredith (Jason) Schweitzer of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; great-grandchildren Sarah and Megan Schweitzer.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Clint Ledebur and Gilbert Ledebur.

Agnes Hughes

Private services were held for Agnes Hughes (nee Blang) of Grafton, who died on Monday, March 26, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee at the age of 94. The Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton and Grafton Senior Center.

Survivors include: son Robert (Rose) Krause of Grafton; daughter Betty (Richard) Nelson of Coronado, Calif.

She is further survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Nona D. Neese
Nona D. Neese, nee Watson, 73, of West Bend, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Menomonee Falls Health Care Center.

She was born June 17, 1927, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to the late William and Fern (Johnson) Watson, and was raised in Moline, Ill.

After her marriage to Sidney R. Neese on Jan. 8, 1959, in Port Byron, Ill., the couple lived in the quad city area, and she moved to Wisconsin in the 1980s.

She was employed as a secretary at Eagle Food chain of Rock Island, Ill., and later at Washington County Social Services for four years, retiring in 1990.

Nona was a member of First Baptist Church of West Bend.

Her husband passed away in 1972.

Survivors include a daughter, Holly Cable of Germantown; a son, George "Tony" (fiancee Connie Puerling) Trimka of Newburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a sister.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, at 5 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Pastor Jason E. Clark will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac with inurnment in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
