John Rupcich

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday evening at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton for John Rupcich, who died on April 28, 2001 at the age of 55. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Rupcich served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965.

He was president of NDC Inc., on the board of directors of NDC LLC, partner in Mega Marts, on the board of directors of Tri City National Bank and Tri City Bankshares, previously served on the board of directors for SER Jobs, on the board of directors of The Employer Group. In addition, he previously served on the board of directors of the Oak Creek Community Center, and was named Oak Creek Man of the Year in 1996.

Mr. Rupcich also served on St. Joseph’s Building Fund Committee, and was past owner of J&J Ranch of Grafton and Sussex.

Survivors include: wife Angela (nee La Rosa) of Cedarburg; children Christel (Mike) Holdway of Saukville, John (Jennifer) of Madison, April (Patrick) Sutherland of Waterford, Brent of Milwaukee, Franco and Nicholas of Cedarburg; grandchildren John "Jack" of Madison, Christopher, Jonathon of Saukville and Joseph of Madison.

Further survived by his lifelong friend Mary Rupcich (nee Ojeda) of Milwaukee; mother Elsie Rupcich of Milwaukee; brother Robert (Donna) Milwaukee; sisters Yvonne (Richard) Villarreal and Sheila (Everett) Rantannen of Milwaukee. He was the son-in-law Joe and Catherine La Rosa of Shorewood; brother-in-law of Angelo (Claudia) La Rosa of Grafton, Ken (Zina) Kaminski of New Berlin and Joe (Mary) Iannello of Bayside.

Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Frank.

Memorials to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church appreciated.

The family is putting together a book by to remember John Rupcich, and they ask that friends share how he touched their lives.

Pat A. Kinas

A funeral service was held Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton, for Pat A. Kinas (nee Eickstedt) of Port Washington, who died April 26, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee at the age of 48.
Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Kinas was born Sept. 20, 1952 to the late Harold and Hildegard (nee Prochnow) Eickstedt, and married Daniel Kinas on March 6, 1998 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton.

She was a X-ray technician at Medical Associates in Menomonee Falls for the last five years, and was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton.

Survivors include: husband Daniel of Port Washington; daughter Chantell Scherer of Port Washington; mother Hildegard Flom of Port Washington; sister Nancy (Dennis) Sprague of West Bend; brother Harold G. (Judith) Eickstedt of Newburg; mother-in-law Lois A. Kinas of Wauwatosa; nephews, Wayne Sprague of Fredonia, Robert Sprague of West Bend, Kevin (Amy) Sprague of Throp, Scott (Patty) Eickstedt of West Bend; niece Angel (Warren) Bialk of Random Lake. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Georgean M. Krieger
Georgean M. Krieger, nee Bell, 85, of the Little Cedar Lake area, West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born Sept. 26, 1915, in South Milwaukee, to the late George and Jane (Black) Bell.

She graduated from South Milwaukee High School and was employed as a secretary for Cutler Hammer of Milwaukee.

After her marriage to Alvin W. Krieger on June 25, 1938, at First Methodist Church of South Milwaukee, the couple lived in Milwaukee and later moved to Little Cedar Lake in 1968.

She was a volunteer at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center for over 19 years.

Her her husband passed away July 29, 1972.

Survivors include three children, George (Nancy) Krieger of Slinger, Jean Krieger of Hubertus and Robert (Debra) Krieger of Hartland; six grandchildren, Robert Krieger, John (Jennifer) Krieger, Thomas Krieger, Gretchen Krieger, Elliott Krieger and William Krieger; a sister, Henrietta Meinecke of South Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother and his wife, John and Amanda, and a brother-in-law, Sylvester Meinecke.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Pastor Michael Frans will officiate, and interment will be in Pinelawn Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to the Cedar Lake Health Care Center are appreciated.

Sharon L. Scott

Sharon L. Scott (nee Sheedy) of Germantown died Friday, May 4, 2001 at her residence at the age of 58.
She was born June 4, 1942 in Park Falls to Harold and Lilian (nee McGinnis) Sheedy. While struggling with cancer, Sharon could always count on her family, especially her grandchildren, to cheer her up.

Survivors include her children, Kimberly (Bruce) Freundorfer of Mequon, Michael Scott of Millwood, Ky., Tamra Scott of Milwaukee and Julie (Scott) Schmidt of West Bend; two special grandchildren, Ross and Mackenzie Freundorfer; three honorary grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth and Annika Jahr; her mother, Lilian Vogel of St. Louis; two sisters, Jill (Bob) Shymanski of Wild Rose and Penne (Jim Sr.) Welti of Waterford; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Ken Howard of Heritage Christian Church officiating. Entombment will be Wednesday in Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of services.

Rita Anne Edquist

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Cedarburg resident Rita Anne Edquist (nee Valenzano), who died May 3, 2001 at the age of 80.
Visitation will be today at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg from 4-8 p.m. The Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow at the Cedarburg Cultural Center at noon. Interment will be at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery.

Mrs. Edquist was born in Chicago on April 21, 1921, but she considered Cedarburg her adopted hometown.

She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Mundelein College in Chicago in 1942. She married Carl Edquist in 1944, and family members say he became "her loving companion for 56 years on their life journey." The couple moved to Cedarburg in 1947 where they raised eight children.

Family members observed, "She will be dearly missed by her many friends near and far. She kissed the souls of all who knew her."

Mrs. Edquist is survived by her husband, Carl Edquist of Cedarburg; children Paul Michael Edquist of Milwaukee, Karen (Ross) Fichtner of Plymouth, Mich., Peter Damien (Linda) Edquist of Misenheimer, N.C., Kathryn Marie Kloppenburg of Bayside, Ann Therese (John) Augustin of Muskegon, Mich., David Joseph (Olga) Edquist of Greenfield, Jerome Martin (Peggy) Edquist of Cedarburg and Marie Frances (Richard) Ruby of Lake Geneva; grandchildren Daniel John of Plymouth, Mich., Jhoda Damien, Gabriel Carmen, Micah Helms, Peter Joseph, Ann Marie, John Paul and Anthony Jordan, all of Misenheimer, Mich., Timothy Jung and Amy Yung of Muskegon, Mich., Carl Christopher, Sarah Catherine, John David and Melania Aileen, all of Greenfield, Grace Marie, Jon Patrick and Catherine Claire, all of Cedarburg, Alan Michael and Michael James, both of Lake Geneva.

Further survivors include brother-in-law Glen (Maxine) Edquist of Niles, Mich, and Kenneth (Rona) Edquist of Chesterton, Ind.; nieces and nephews Raymond, Donna, Mark, Andrea, Matthew, Paula, Robert, Gregory, Terry, Debbie, Kerrie and Holly.

Family members noted "we extend our embrace to Mary Ann Borden, Kimberly Risenhoover and Melanie Green for their tender loving care of Rita. The also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Cedar Springs Care Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vito and Serafina Valenzano.

Donations to the Rita Anne Edquist Memorial Fund at Ozaukee Bank would be appreciated.

Stanley P. Jagler Jr
Stanley P. Jagler Jr., 58, of Deerbrook died on May 3 from injuries sustained in a auto accident. Jagler is a former resident of West Bend.

Jagler was born on April 22, 1943 in Wausau to Stanley and Eleanora (Reissmann) Jagler and was a communications specialist for Wisconsin Electric. He was also a member of the Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club.

Besides snowmobiling, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the north woods.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor; a daughter, Linda Parolini; a son, Robert Jagler; two sisters, Judy and Beverly. He is also survived by one grandson, Trent Nelson.

His father, Stanley Sr., preceded him in death.

Services for the younger Stanley will be held on Monday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, Antigo. Pastor James Reed will officiate.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. He will be buried at Lakeside Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Jagler’s name, but no specific information was available.

Stanley A. Schoedel
Stanley A. Schoedel, 82, of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee and Mt. Morris, Wis., died Monday, May 7, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.

He was born Dec. 6, 1918, in the town of Farmington, to the late Arthur H. and Mabel M. (Fueger) Schoedel.

Stanley was born and raised in Cheeseville (the corner of Highway A and Trading Post) in the town of Farmington, and graduated from West Bend High School in 1936.

He served in World War II with the U.S. Army 740th Military Police Battalion as a sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1946.

After the service he worked for Luick/Sealtest of Milwaukee delivering dairy products on the lower east side of Milwaukee via horse and wagon.

In 1951, Stanley worked for Hawthorn Mellody Dairy of Milwaukee and delivered to stores, schools and institutions.

He drove semi for many years, retiring in 1978 at age 60 from Local 695.

On July 6, 1968, he married Aileen E. Monroe in Milwaukee.

He belonged to the United Brotherhood of Teamsters Union of Madison since 1946.

Stanley was a member of Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church, Diversity Club, Toppers Club and the Fillmore Turners.

He loved the outdoors, canoeing, gardening, wood working, fishing and ice fishing. He was also handy and enjoyed repairing things.

Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend, Aileen; a son, Paul Schoedel of Rubicon; two brothers, Donald (Bernice) of Shawano and Roger (Jane) of West Bend; two sisters, Karen (Leo) Trepes of Crivitz and Kathleen (Robert) Butcher of Mission, Texas; an aunt, Lucille (nee Leid) Walters of Mesa, Ariz.; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 10, at 11:30 a.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Terry Berg will officiate, and interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Memorials to Mt. Morris Holden Church-ELCA, Wautoma, are appreciated.
