Helen Marion Filitz

A memorial service will be held Saturday at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Helen Marion Filitz, 90, of Neillsville, who passed away May 31, 2001 at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville.
Pastor Janis Kinens will officiate at the 11 a.m. service. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is handling the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Filitz was born Dec. 2, 1910 in Cedarburg, daughter of John G. and Eugenia Frederiksen.

Survivors include brother Robert Frederiksen of Dayton, Ore.; son James Yellowbank Filitz; granddaughter Velvet Yellowbank Cooper; four great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Filitz; daughter Fern Yellowbank; brothers John, Eugene and Horace Frederiksen; and sister Florence Rainey.

Willis "Dick" Schultz
Willis "Dick" Schultz, 77, of Mayville, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa.

He was born June 1, 1924, in the town of Williamstown, to the late Erwin J. and Edna (Metke) Schultz, and married Violet Pankovich on Nov. 20, 1947, in Beloit.

He was a supervisor at Mayville Metal Products, retiring in 1987.

Dick was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville American Legion Post 69, an active member of the Oley Foundation Support Group for people on parenteral nutrition therapy; 851st Army Engineers, and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Christine (Joseph) Bauer of Muskego; two grandchildren, Brad and Jennifer; a brother, Gordon (Connie) Schultz of Fond du Lac; a sister, Shirley (Edgar) Quardt of Mayville; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9 at noon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mayville.

Graveside military rites will be performed by the Mayville Legion Post 69.

Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Gilbert E. Rosine
Gilbert E. Rosine, 78, of West Bend, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Wausau, to the late Fred B. and Clara E. (nee Coerper) Rosine.

Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving mainly in England and France during World War II.

On Aug. 22, 1945, he married Jeanne Y. Melanson in France where they remained until returning to the U.S. in 1947, settling in Mosinee.

In the mid 1950s, the couple came to West Bend where he became employed at The West Bend Co. until retiring in 1986.

Jeanne passed away on July 10, 1986.

Gil was a member of the 25-Year Club at The West Bend Co. and the Fred A. Schaefer Post 1393 VFW.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Liesse of West Bend; three grandchildren, Cindy Schoenhaar of West Bend, Rod Hepponstall (fiancee Debbie Wilson) of Libertyville, Ill. and Michelle (Jason) Parker of Durango, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Samantha and David Jr. Schoenhaar, Tyler and Holly Anderson and Skye and Rafael Parker; a special friend and companion to Gil and Gil's family, Emily Counard of West Bend; a sister, Mildred (Howard) Tucker; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, West Bend.

Fr. Gerald Brittain will be the presider, and burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery

Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Monday from 4:30 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 7 p.m., and also on Tuesday at the church only from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Eugene W. "Gene" Beitsch
Eugene W. "Gene" Beitsch, 75, of Campbellsport, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Sublette, Ill., to the late Walter and Ruth (March) Beitsch, and married Eunice Jaeger.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed aboard the U.S. Intrepid for six years.

Gene was employed by Ashplundh Tree Service for 34 years, working as foreman for a number of years.

He was a member of American Legion Post 384, Kewaskum, and greatly enjoyed wildlife and gardening.

Gene also did volunteer work at St. Kilian Parish.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Steven of Lomira, Sharon Beitsch of St. Kilian and Gary (Ann) of Fayetteville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Keri Lynn Stevens of Waupun; a great-granddaughter, Molly; step-grandchildren, Brenda Mauney of Autryville, N.C. and Staff Sgt. Mike Martin of Fort Benning, Ga.; step-great-grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha and Tara; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Robert, and a brother-in-law, Arthur Glover.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellport.

James Jaeger will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Kilian Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Phyllis E. Seefeld, 78
Phyllis E. Seefeld, 78, of West Bend, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital of West Bend.

She was born July 26, 1922 in Adams to John and Agnes (Nowacheck) Desmond and married Lestern Seefeld.

She worked at Firststar Bank of Milwaukee in customer service for over 14 years. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.

Phyllis enjoyed reading mysteries, writing postcards and visiting with friends.

Survivors include daughter Cherie (David) Steward of California; two grandsons, Nathaniel and Joshua; a sister, Lois McEvoy; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband in 1975.

A memorial service will be held on June 12 at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. Father Jeffrey Haines will officiate.

James A. "Jim" Nielsen

James A. "Jim" Nielsen, 69, of West Bend, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Racine, to the late Hans and Margaret (Jensen) Nielsen, and married Marilyn J. Hubbert on May 10, 1958, in Milwaukee.

After graduating from Park High School, he received an associate degree at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Milwaukee.

He served in the U.S. Army following the Korean Conflict.

Jim was a manufacturing engineer, and was retired from Spincraft of New Berlin.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Lisa (Mike) McQuaid of Grafton and Christopher (Mary) Nielsen of Brookfield; a granddaughter, Brittany Scheers of Houston, Texas; a sister, Edith Nielsen of Racine; a brother-in-law, T. James Anderson of Racine; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Gladys Anderson.

He was a member of Circle Masters Flying Club and The Wisconsin Geological Society.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac, and interment of the ashes will be in Arlington Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Memorials are appreciated to the Kettle Moraine Oncology Center or the American Cancer Society.

Hilda L. Engeleiter
Hilda L. Engeleiter, nee Rosenthal, 92, of West Bend, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Home Campus.

She was born April 13, 1909, in the town of Barton, to the late Christian and Philippine "Bertha" (Metzer) Rosenthal.

After her marriage to Roman W.K. Engeleiter on Sept. 20, 1930, in Waukegan,Ill., the couple farmed in the town of Addison. In 1955 they moved to West Bend.

Hilda was employed at Modern Day Cleaners of West Bend for over five years and later was an inspector for Amity Leather Products of West Bend for over 20 years, retiring in 1965.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Carol (Jules) Clausing of Brillion, Richard "Dick" (Bernadean) Engeleiter and Donna Mae (Jerome) Matter, both of West Bend; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Iva Rosenthal of Hartford, Lorraine Hose of West Allis and Rosella Derge of Whitewater; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were three brothers and a sister.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Pastor John H. Paustian will officiate, and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorials are appreciated to Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church or the Cedar Lake Home Campus.
