Frank J. Foti
Frank J. Foti, 71, of Hartford, formerly of Mukwonago died Thursday, June 14, 2001 at Community Memorial Hospital of Menomonee Falls.

He was born in Milwaukee on May 23, 1930 to Joseph ( Josephine Gagliano) Foti, and married Mary Ann Lecher on July 20, 1967 at St. Florian's Catholic Church of West Milwaukee.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, he attended Riverside High School and was a Class of 1949 graduate. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later with the Air Force Reserves. After marriage, the couple lived in Milwaukee and later Mukwonago, settling in Hartford in 2000. He was employed as the grounds maintenance of The Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was the courier for Bank One for over 10 years, retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; five children, Diane Gray of St. Francis, Jo Marie (Hank) Fuller of Oconomowoc, James Foti of Hartford, Matthew Foti of West Allis and Joshua Foti of Hartford; three grandchildren, Devon, Jacob and Jordan; three brothers, Santo (Mertice) Foti of Pahrump, Nev., Joseph (Grace) Foti of White Lake and Robert (Susan) Foti of Jackson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 18, 2001 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger, with Father Robert J. Bales officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Tuesday, June 19 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at the church only, on Monday, from 4 p.m. until the time of Mass (7 p.m.).

The Phillip Funeral Home of Slinger is assisting the family.

Frederick Hermann

A funeral service was held on Friday, June 15, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for Frederick Hermann who died on June 13, 2001 at Lasata Care Center, at the age of 91. Burial will be held today at Sheboygan Lutheran Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.
Mr. Hermann was born on Sept. 19, 1909 in Russia, the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (nee Hinze). He married Catherine Karle on July 20, 1932 in Sheboygan. He worked for Armour Leather Co.

Survivors include: wife: Catherine (nee Karle); children: Patricia (Roger) Sievers and Judith (Roger) McKinley; sister Frieda Sizonen; brother Philip Hermann; grandchildren: Scott (Jill) Sievers, Teri (Mike) Jackson, Steven Sievers.

Further survived by four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Vannetta E. Kautz
Vannetta E. Kautz, nee Mielke, 90, of West Bend, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2001.

She was the beloved wife of the late Louis; mother of Edward (Karen) and Ronald (Pat); grandmother of Edward Jr. (Gina), Paul (Kelly) and Karl; great-grandmother of Karissa, Kyle, Kory and Joshua.

She will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Geri Mielke; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation at the Krause Funeral Home, 9000 W. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, will be Wednesday, June 20, from 10 to 11:45 a.m., with funeral services at noon.

Burial will follow in Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, or the Wisconsin Special Olympics are appreciated.

Martha Beth
Martha Beth, nee Blindauer, 84, of West Bend, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at the Fond du Lac Health Care Center.

She was born June 9, 1917, in Green Bay to the late George and Gertrude (nee Thomas) Blindauer, and married Milton H. Beth on Nov. 4, 1937 in Green Bay.

Following their marriage, the couple settled in Green Bay. In 1942 they moved to West Bend where she lived until becoming a resident of the Fond du Lac Health Care Center in 1980.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the West Bend Co. for 18 years.

Martha was a former member of the Sweet Adelines, and a member of the Christian Woman's Confraternity at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Richard (Jeanne) of Oconomowoc, Mickey (Bonnie) of St. Germain and Ruth Ann (Thomas) Classey of West Bend; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Hammes and Gen Strutz, both of Green Bay; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were three brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Bernice Schmitt
Bernice Schmitt, 75, of Campbellsport, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at her home.

She was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Ashford, to the late Leonard and Agnes (Leisses) Hall, and married Vincent Schmitt on June 17, 1944, at St. Martin's Church, Ashford.

She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the American Legion Post 347 Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Cecilia (Ken) Knoll of Mayville, Dolores (Charles) Straub and Eileen Schmitt, both of Kewaskum; three sons, David (Faye) of Brownsville, Don of Ashford and Ken (Donna) of Campbellsport; six grandchildren, Michelle Perko, Kevin, Michael and Samantha Knoll, Chad Schmitt and Brian Schmitt; two step-granddaughters, Kari (Mike) Thompson and Cheryl Kapfenstein; three great-grandsons, Johnathan Perko, Connor Loppnow and Tyler Thompson; a sister, Rose Nett of Fond du Lac; a brother-in-law, James Schmitt of Bettendorf, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Terry) Urban of Campbellsport, Agnes Hall of Lomira and Bernice Hall of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband on Dec. 21, 1999; a son, Richard on March 16, 2000; two sisters, Marcella Reinke and Eleanor Sabel; and three brothers, Florian, Arnold and Leo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Ashford.

Rev. Wayne Barta will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Martin's Cemetery.

Visitation at the church will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials may be directed to family wishes.

The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is assisting the family.

Adolf Hagmayer
Adolf Hagmayer, 93, of West Bend, formerly of Eagle Spring Lake and South Milwaukee, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1908, in Esslingen, Germany, to the late Ulrich and Karoline (Kimmel) Hagmayer, and at the age of 18 came to Milwaukee.

On May 2, 1935, he married Elfriede M. Rehberg in Milwaukee.

He was employed at Modern Machine Works of Cudahy for over 36 years as a shop supervisor.

In 1969 Adolf and his wife were co-founders with their son of Adron Tool Corp. of Menomonee Falls for over 10 years, retiring in 1979.

The couple moved to West Bend in 1989.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Carol Hoyt of Plymouth, Ronald (Ann) Hagmayer of Townsend and Jean (Bruce) Moehrle of East Troy; five grandchildren, Brian (Kim) Hagmayer, Emerson (Ann) Hoyt, Thomas (Jean) Hoyt, Jodi McGrew and Debra Krezman; two special family friends, Scott McGrew and Dacon Franzen; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Lambach of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Wilhelm.

Adolf was a member of the First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, and was a 50-year member of the McKinley Masonic Lodge and McKinley Royal Arch of Brookfield.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Leslie Schultz will officiate, and entombment will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to the Wisconsin Library for the Blind.

Ellen May Schuette
Ellen May Schuette (nee Place) passed away at her home in Bradenton, Fla. on June 4, 2001. She was 83 years old.

She was born in Hartford on May 2, 1918 to Ben and Esther Place. She attended grade school and high school in Hartford and attended the University of Wisconsin and Ripon College. She married Milton J. Schuette on June 27, 1942.

Ellen was a member of the First Congregational Church and Hartford Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary. She was secretary of W.B. Place & Co. until her retirement in 1973. She and her husband then retired to their farm on the Chippewa River near Cornell, where they spent their summers. They spent winters at their home in Bradenton, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, Milton; one son, Lyn (Mary) Schuette; two grandsons, Max and Peter Schuette; relatives and friends.

Johanna Nurnberger
On May 24, 2001, Johanna Nurnberger passed away. Johanna was cremated in accordance with her wishes. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life at noon on Saturday, June 23 in the Schramka-Herrick Funeral Home, W164 N9034 Water St., Menomonee Falls.

LaVonne E. Holladay
LaVonne E. Holladay (nee Rudoll) of West Bend passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at her residence. She was 60 years old.

She was born in Rockford, Ill. on Aug. 27, 1940 to Chester and Louise (nee Betley) Rudoll. She married John E. Holladay Jr. in Corinth, Miss.

LaVonne was a secretary at Fairpark School Joint District #1.During her 30 years of service there, she touched the lives of many students as well as other staff members. Even after her retirement in 1998, she was admired by all those with whom she shared her kindness and laughter. She will always be loved and never forgotten.

She is survived by one son, John III (Sandy) Holladay of Beach Bluff, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kevin and Brittany Green of Beach Bluff, Tenn.; one sister, Cynthia Olgelvie of Rockford, Ill.; one niece, Sherry (Mitch) Hayes of Lexington, Tenn.; great-nieces and nephew, Tad, Emily and Elizabeth Hayes; and the world's dearest friends, Dave and Jan King and their family, of West Bend, all of whom were very dear to her. LaVonne is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Karen Thornton; and her nephew, Tad Thornton.

A memorial service was held on Monday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. Visitation was at the funeral home only on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Cremation at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
