Clarence W. Tischer

A funeral service was held on July 14, at David’s Star Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kirchhyan for Clarence W. Tischer, who died on July 11, 2001, at the age of 86. Burial was held in the church cemetery immediately after the service. Mueller Fueral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.
Mr. Tischer was born Aug. 24, 1914 in Jackson, the son of the late Carl and Alma (nee Dassow) Tischer. He married Hilda Kringel on Nov. 23, 1940 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Road.

He worked as a farmer all his life.

Survivors include: wife Hilda; children Ronald (Margaret) Tischer, Arlene (Karl) Kumm, Dennis (Elfrieda) Tischer and Sharon (Mark R.) Schmeling; grandchildren Daniel Tischer; Melinda, Karl and Brian Kumm; Kevin (Mandy) Tischer, David (Maryke) Tischer, Jamie (Jason) Koehler and Carrie Tischer; Mark A. (Lori), Travis and Troy Schmeling; great-gradchildren: Savannah and Mykala Tischer.

Meta C. Stern

A funeral service was held on July 13, at David’s Star Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kirchhayn for Meta C. Stern of Jackson, who died on July 10, 2001 at the age of 93. Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.
Mrs. Stern was born on Sept. 24, 1907 in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Otto and Martha (nee Schulz) Stern. She married the late John Stern on Oct. 28,1925. She was a long-time member of David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: daughter Grace (Eugene) Maciejewski; daughter-in-law Betty Marialke; grandchilden Gail Maciejewski, Gay (Daniel) Herther, Guy Maciejewski, Geanine Maciejewski, Merlin Stern, Steven (Kathy) Stern and Julie Stern.

Further surived by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son Roman and a sister Alma Roell.

Memorials to David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Gordon J. Hepburn

Gordon J. Hepburn passed away July 11, 2001, with his family gathered around him, at the age of 90. He lived in Cedarburg.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Jean (nee Berryman).

Devoted father to Mal (Jill) Hepburn of Cedarburg, and Will (Cathy) Hepburn of Prescott, Ariz.; and also Patti Hepburn of Milwaukee.

Proud grandfather of Scott Hepburn, Kelly Hepburn, Tori Hepburn, Matt Hepburn and Jamie Hepburn.

Gordon Hepburn was born in Chicago July 23, 1911. He owned the Dodge-Hepburn Studios and was active in Chicago’s thriving Englewood Business District through the 1960s.

In 1967, he began what was to become a highly successful career in commercial real estate.

In his years in Chicago, he was president of the Englewood Businessman’s Association, trustee of the Southtown YMCA, trustee of the Drexel Park Presbyterian Church, master of the Odgen Park Masonic Lodge, commander of American Legion Post #407, president of the Englewood Lion’s Club, president of Southtown Kiwanis Club, and a proud member of Medinah Temple.

A man with a strong sense of fair play and quiet strength, he was a powerful role model for his family.

He is fondly remembered by many whose lives he touched.

Memorials suggested to St. Mary’s Hospital in Ozaukee County, 13111 N. Port Washington Road, Mequon, WI 53097.

Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.

James Robert (Bob) Brown

A memorial for James Robert (Bob) Brown, who died at the age of 87, on March 7, 2001, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21 at the Ephraim Moravian Church. The church is located at 9970 Moravia St. in Ephraim.

Brown was a long-time resident of West Bend and a past president of the West Bend Co. Following the service, there will be a light lunch.

Kathryn A. Hahn

Kathryn A. Hahn, 75, of Campbellsport, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at her home.

She was born May 21, 1925, in Fond du Lac to the late John and Mathilda (Meyer) Thompson, and married Oscar Hahn on April 14, 1948, at St. Mary's Church, Eden.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at Wells Mfg. in Fond du Lac and then she and her husband farmed in the town of Auburn.

Kathryn was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 347 in Lomira. She also served on the Auburn Election Board for many years.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Philip (Mary), Mark (Maxine), David (Eileen) and Dennis (Candy), all of Campbellsport; a daughter, Ann (Terry) Battistine of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Greg, Colleen, Lynn, Brian, Jennifer and Sara; two sisters, Frances (John) Casetta of Wittenberg and Josephine (Leonard) Goebel of North Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, John on April 5, 1998; two sisters, Marie Birschbach and Vivian Coenen; and a brother, Jack Thompson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum.

Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and burial will follow in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Campbellsport.

Visitation at the church will be Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice or to Hospice Hope.

The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport is serving the family.

Myron D. Fearson

Myron D. Fearson, 78, of Grafton, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital.

Myron was born April 15, 1923, in Deerbrook, to the late Wilner and Ethel (nee Hanford) Fearson, and married Mary Ellen Weatherwax on Dec. 4, 1945, in Shawano.

Myron served his country in the United States Navy from 1843 to 1945, and worked for A.O. Smith Corporation for 44 years.

He was a member of the Grafton Legion Post, Crossroads Presbyterian Church and a member of Local 1668 IAM Union for over 50 years.

Myron shared his military experiences with the history students at West Bend High School.

Survivors include his wife; children, Tom (Chris) Fearson, Jeanne (John) Wieczorek, Janet (Steve) Jeziorski and Ted; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was also a special friend of Dandy Dog Dudley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.

Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield, on Thursday.

Hermann Eberhard Aissen

Hermann Eberhard Aissen (Opa) of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2001.

Hermann was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, to the late Dirk Dirks Aissen and Johanne Bernhardine Onnen, and on June 22, 1935, married Herta Folmine Therese Pauline Schmidt. She passed away in 1958.

He grew up in northern Germany where he received his plumbing journeyman license and served in the German Air Force. Hermann was an American/French prisoner of war in Marseille, France from 1944 to 1948.

In 1960 he came to the United States and made his home in Green Bay.

On July 7, 1968 he married Myrtle Ruth Denis, who preceded him in death in April 2000.

Hermann was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 298 and was employed by Tweet-Garot Mechanical Inc. until retiring in 1977.

He was an active member of The Atonement Lutheran Church, The Golden Key Club and the German American Society of Green Bay.

Hermann enjoyed children of all ages, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were special to Herman who would spend his time playing with kids and winning games of Sheepshead.

Hermann's hobby, working with copper, touched the lives of many people in the form of clocks candle holders and cobbler lamps.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Werner and Marlene Aissen of Green Bay; three daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Hans Rolf Von Vorshelen of West Bend, Ilse and William Weitz of Oshkosh and Margot and Robert Anderson of Centerton, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Luurtsema of Zaandam, Netherlands and Hermine Mensen; a brother, Bernhard Aissen of Wilhelmshaven, Germany; nieces and nephews in Germany and the Netherlands.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Jetta; a brother, Georg; sister and brother-in-law, Gesine and Ernst Bernhart; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Onno and Mariechen Aissen, Gerhard and Frieda Aissen and Diedrich and Anneliese Aissen; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Schmidt and Gesine Aissen; two brothers-in-law, Fokko Luurtsema and Hans Mensen; and a granddaughter, Kathryn Anderson.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay, on Wednesday, July 18, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, with funeral services at 11 a.m.

Rev. Don Staude will officiate, and entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Atonement Lutheran Church and the Bellin College of Nursing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Raymond Bachhuber, the staff on the third floor medical at Bellin Hospital and the staff at Woodside Luther Home for their care and support extended to Hermann during his illness.

Elmer M. Rodenkirch

Elmer M. Rodenkirch, 90, of West Bend, formerly of the town of Farmington, died on Monday, July 16, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.
He was born March 29, 1911, in West Bend, to the late Henry and Clara (nee Koenings) Rodenkirch.

Elmer farmed in the town of Farmington for most of his life.

He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and cutting wood up until 1998. He was active and a friend to a wide range of people, both young and old.

Elmer was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish and the St. Joseph's Society.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Krell and Cecilia "Tootie" Hefter, both of West Bend; a nephew, Ray Krell of West Bend; a great-niece, Christina Krell of Plainfield, Ill.; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two brothers-in-law, Cyreldus Krell and Roman Hefter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 8 p.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church.

Burial will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery (old).

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
