Terry L. "Piner" Latsch

Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 28 at the Claussen Funeral Home in Lake Mills for Terry L. "Piner" Latsch, who died on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at the age of 42.

Rev. Elizabeth D. Miller of the Lake Mills Moravian Church officiated at the ceremony. Private family burial services will be held at a later time at Rock Lake Cemetery in Lake Mills.

Mr. Latsch was born on Aug. 31, 1958 in Fort Atkinson, the son of Marvin "Mike" and Mary (Menzel) Latsch.

He graduated from Cedarburg High School and later attended UW-Whitewater. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing softball.

Survivors include: sons David and Patrick of Saukville; his parents of Lake Mills; brother Marvin (Rosanne) of Madison; sisters Susan (Tom) Meiller of Grafton, Patti (Gary) Thundercloud of Milwaukee, Lisa (Juan) Sanchez of Bakersfield, Calif.; sister-in-law Ellen Latsch of Medford.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Ann (Julen) Latsch, Charles A. and Viola (Freeman) Latsch and two uncles.

Memorials may be made to the Latsch Children Trust Fund.

Stephanie N. Allen

Stephanie N. Allen, 18, of Hartford, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2001, at her home after a lengthy battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

She was born March 1, 1983, in Menomonee Falls to Michael and Debra (nee Shattuck) Allen, and graduated from Hartford Union High School in 2001.

While she was able, Stephanie maintained academic honors for most of her high school years and had planned to attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the fall.

She played volleyball for four years, was a varsity player for two years,and was an active member of Menomonee Falls Job's Daughters Bethel 64, Past Honored Queen 2000.

Stephanie is the dearest daughter of Michael (fiancee Ronal Koller) Allen of Hartford and Debra (Gary) Bornheimer of Hartford; loving sister of Ashley Allen of Hartford; precious granddaughter of Adele Shattuck of Menomonee Falls, Arliss (Ella) Allen of Florida and Marguerite Allen of Menomonee Falls; and special friends Ashley Hesprich and Jeremy Rosen. Also surviving are aunts, uncles and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at Wooded Hills Bible church, 777 Hwy. 164, Colgate, with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

Visitation at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hartford community for the love and support you have shown to Stephanie during her battle with cancer. Also, special thanks to Dr. Kelly Maloney, Dr. David Margolis, Lynette Anderson, Heather Haasch and the caring staff at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Marie R. Albrecht

Marie R. Albrecht nee Blank, 97, of the town of Hartford, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2001, at the Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Juneau.
She was born Aug. 30, 1903, in St. Laurence to the late John and Mary (nee Gruber) Blank, and married Fred Albrecht on Nov. 29, 1928.

She was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers.

Survivors include a son, Frederick (Nancy) Albrecht of Hartford; four grandchildren, Lisa (Peter) Laufer, Lora (Richard) Courtney, Todd (Lisa) Albrecht and Tina Albrecht (fiance Earl Eichline), all of Hartford; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Colton and Morgan Laufer, Brooke and Dylan Courtney and Alex Albrecht; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred on May 6, 1989; four brothers, John, Joe, Roman and Mike Blank; and three sisters, Rose Eiche, Helen Wenzel and Loretta Lofy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Kilian Church, Hartford.

Fr. Michael Petrie will officiate, and interment will be in St. Kilian Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church only on Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The Shimon Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lucille E. Bentz

Lucille E. Bentz, nee Weber, 95, of West Bend, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 7, 1905, in Milwaukee to the late John and Louisa (nee Hassler) Weber, and married Harvey Sorenson. He passed away in February, 1952.

She later married Walter Bentz on April 2, 1960.

Survivors include her husband; nine nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Lee) Weber, Phyllis (Kenneth) Meyer, Donald (Donna) Weber, Shirley (Lawrence) Kallas, Gerald (Joan) Weber, Gordon (Jean) Weber, Rodger (Kathleen) Weber, Merry Carole (John) Bonow and Clemens (Teckla) Weber; grand-nieces; grand-nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Clemens and Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home,West Bend.

Rev. Victor Hackbarth will officiate, and burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Joseph S. "Joe" Gergetz

Joseph S. "Joe" Gergetz, 78, of Cedarburg passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 27, 2001, joining Dorothy, his wife of 56 years.

He was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Mayville, to the late Nickolas and Catherine (Schnaderbeck ) Gergetz, and graduated from Mayville High School in 1940.

On Oct. 16, 1943, he married Dorothy L. Smith at St. Patrick's Church, Fond du Lac. She passed away Feb. 1, 1999.

He was the owner and operator of Buy-Low Grocery story of Cedarburg for over 15 years. Later he was a partner in Ozaukee Motors of Grafton for over 20 years, and at the time of his death had been the owner and operator of Cummins Tool Distributorship of Cedarburg for over 15 years.

He was devoted to his wife and family and enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and golfing.

He was the beloved father of Joanne Burgett of Cedarburg, Stephanie Murray (Danny Beard) of McFarland, Joseph (Patricia) Gergetz of West Bend, Anne (Scott) Newren of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Gregory (Suzanne) Gergetz of Manti, Utah; dear grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and loving brother of Eva (Nick) Kohler of Mayville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joseph will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 120 E. Paradise Drive, West Bend.

Bishop Ralph Bound will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Jennifer Ann Drescher

Jennifer Ann Drescher, 31, of Manitowoc, died on Thursday, July 26, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident in Ozaukee County.
She was born Jan. 29, 1970, in Milwaukee to Ronald R. Demler and Diane Nestle, and graduated from West Bend High School in 1988.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Ronald and Lesley Demler of Fond du Lac; her children, Jordyn Drescher and Jesse Demler of Manitowoc; her sisters, Sabrina Curran and Sara Curran of Oshkosh, Jennifer (Dallas) Vande Slunt, Brandon, Tera Pilak of Fond du Lac; a brother, Adam Curran, stationed in Georgia with the U.S. Army; maternal grandmother, Marianne Kralj of Milwaukee; paternal grandparents, Dorothy Turek of Milwaukee and Ralph M. Demler of Random Lake; aunts; uncles and cousins.

Her maternal grandfather, Victor Kralj, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Trinity Church, with Rev. Timothy Larson officiating. Cremation will follow

Visitation at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, will be Mmnday from 4 to 8 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Beatrice Duehring

Beatrice Duehring, nee Tietz, 83, of West Bend, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born on July 23, 1918, in Germantown to the late Henry and Katherine (nee Berg) Tietz, and married Fredrick Duehring on July 29, 1939, in Milwaukee.

Bea and her husband were the caretakers at Washington County Memorial Park for 26 years until retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend, and a former member of the Women of the Moose.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Fredrick K.(Dorothy) of Germantown, Robert J. (Sandi) of Kewaskum and Darrel (Cathy) of Eden; five grandchildren, Michael (Barbara) Duehring, Michelle (David) Bischelle, Robert (Judith) Duehring, Dustin (Tina) Duehring and Jeff (Jessica) Duehring; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Michael and Claire; three sisters, Hazel Diettrich and Olivia (Alex) Bott, both of Menomonee Falls and Burdella Miller of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Harvey Tietz of Menomonee Falls and William (Betty) Tietz of Slinger; two sisters-in-law, Frances Murdock of Milwaukee and Carol Buss of Menomonee Falls; two brothers-in-law, Welton Duehring of Menomonee Falls and Franklin Duehirng of Elcho; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were five sisters, Mable, Esther, Hattie, Evelyn and Mamie, along with four brothers, Clarence, Herb, Jake and Henry.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Sharon Stier will officiate, and burial will at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Hospice or the Diabetes Association are appreciated.
