Robert M. Mudler
Funeral services will be held Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at Graceland Cemetery, 6401 N. 43rd St., Milwaukee, for Robert M. Mudler, who died July 19, 2001 at the age of 81 in his home in North Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born to the late Herbert and Alma (Bruhn) Mudler on March 15, 1920. He married Marge (Spong) on Aug. 10, 1940.

Mudler moved to Grafton in 1956 from Milwaukee County and retired from Power Products in 1980. He fought in World War II in Europe and was a prisoner of war in Germany for six months. He was liberated in May of 1945.

He is survived by his children, Janet (Larry) Demerath of Grafton, Jackie (Don) Iannarelli of Grafton and Dennis (Gail) Mudler of Watertown; and seven grandchildren, Teri (Gary) Schultte, Mary (Mark) Demler, Bryan (Julie) Demerath, Jennifer (Keith) Block, Nicole (Peter) Bodnar, Kim (Dan) Rahfalet, Robert (Brooke) Mudler.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren Brad and Jaron Omon; Christopher, Nicholas and Sean Olson; Brianne Schultte; Michelle and Mathew Demler; Sarah, James and Craig Block and Dylan and Amanda Rahfalet.

He is also survived by sisters, Hazel (Richard) Peck and Audrey (Richard) Blaskowski, brother-in-law Wendell Spong, sister-in-law Angie Mudler, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert (Angie) Mudler; his sister Mildred and her husband Syl Guidinger, and brothers-in law Jack and Percy Spong.

In lieu of flowers, members may be made out to Hope Hospice, 130 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fla., 33990, or to the American Cancer Society.

Joseph S. "Joe" Gergetz
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 31, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Bend for Joseph S. "Joe" Gergetz, 78, of Cedarburg, who passed away at home on Friday, July 27, 2001. Bishop Ralph Bound officiated, and cremation took place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

He was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Mayville, to the late Nickolas and Catherine (Schnaderbeck) Gergetz, and graduated from Mayville High School in 1940.

On Oct. 16, 1943, he married Dorothy L. Smith at St. Patrick’s Church, Fond du Lac. She passed away Feb. 1, 1999.

He was the owner and operator of Buy-Low Grocery store of Cedarburg for more than 15 years. Later he was a partner in Ozaukee Motors of Grafton for over 20 years, and at the time of his death had been the owner and operator of Cummins Tool Distributorship of Cedarburg for the last 15 years.

He was devoted to his wife and family and enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and golfing.

He was the father of Joanne Burgett of Cedarburg, Stephanie Murray (Danny Beard) of McFarland, Joseph (Patricia) Gergetz of West Bend, Anne (Scott) Newren of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Gregory (Suzanne) Gergetz of Manti, Utah; grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and loving brother of Eva (Nick) Kohler of Mayville.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend assisted the family.

Eileen B. Nelson

Eileen B. Nelson, nee Swanberg, 78, of Menomonee Falls, formerly of West Bend, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Milwaukee Hospice.
She was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Hasty, Minn., to the late Harry and Anna (Wild) Swanberg, and married Kenneth A. Nelson on Oct. 20, 1945, at Silver Creek Lutheran Church, Silver Creek, Minn.

Eileen was a secretary at BC Ziegler and Co. of West Bend, and later at The West Bend Co., retiring in 1984.

Her husband passed away on July 7, 1991.

She moved to Menomonee Falls in 1998, and was a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of West Bend.

Survivors include three daughters, Paula (Larry) Johnson of Port Wing, Gayle (John) Haessly of West Bend and Mary (Jeffrey) Haessly of Fredric; two grandchildren, Mark (Melissa) Haessly of Appleton and Sara (Andrew) Wichlacz of West Bend; six sisters; a brother; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a brother.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Pastor Frank Baumann will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.

Verna M. Resch
Verna M. Resch, nee Kell, 78, of the town of Wayne, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 15, 1922, on the family farm in the town of Wayne, to the late Arnold and Elsie (nee Budahn) Kell, and married Leo Resch on July 10, 1943, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Wayne.

Together they farmed in the town of Wayne until retiring in 1970.

Verna was a life-long member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, and was a member, and since 1950 an honorary member, of the Ladies Aid at Zion Church.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed being with her friends.

Verna loved her cows, and enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; two children, David (Jane) Resch and Diane (Jon) Kiel, both of the town of Wayne; five grandchildren, Kerry Resch, Kevin (Pam) Resch, Kim Resch, Lindsey Kiel and Ashley Kiel; a great-granddaughter, Leah Resch; a sister-in-law, Fern Hembel of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Milan Kell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.

Rev. Steven Bode will officiate, and burial will follow in Zion Church Cemetery.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Monday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School are appreciated by the family.

Joyce A. Wenninger
Joyce A. Wenninger, nee Holz, 70, of Slinger, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.

She was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Colgate, to the late Clarence and Elsie (Henn) Holz.

After her marriage to Jerome G. Wenninger on Nov. 25, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pewaukee, the couple lived in the Pewaukee area, later Hubertus and Ackerville, and moved to the Slinger area in 1951.

She was the co-owner and operator of Ackerville Garage and later in 1979 was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Ackerville Lawn and Garden for over 12 years, retiring in 1992.

She was the beloved wife of Jerome; and is survived by six children, Jerome F. (Kathy) of Slinger, Arnold (Kerry) of Hubertus, Tony (Linda) and Daniel L. (Debra), both of Slinger, Laurie (Robert) Legate of Jackson and Lynn (Edward) Witczak of Slinger; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Joseph) McCartan of Lannon; a brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Joyce was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Slinger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 8 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Slinger.

Fr. Robert J. Bales will officiate, and interment will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Peter's Cemetery, Slinger.

Visitation at the church only will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund.

The Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger, is assisting the family.

Donald H. Wilcox
Donald H. Wilcox 71, of Rubicon, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Dunn County, to the late Harold and Helen (nee Johnson) Wilcox.

He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea.

Following his discharge, he farmed in the Eau Claire area and later retired from Chrysler Corporation in Hartford.

He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club, and for the past few years enjoyed helping friends on their farms.

Survivors include two sons, Cal (Kathleen) Wilcox of Rubicon and Randy (Barb) Wilcox of the town of Erin; two daughters, Renae Thimm of Hartford and Robin Paulsen of Watertown; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother; five sisters, nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother and a sister.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, Aug. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the town of Sherman Cemetery, Menomonie.
