Norma Janz
Norma Janz, 83, of Random Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

She was born Sept. 10, 1917, in the town of Fredonia, to the late Paul and Lena (Parnitzki) Merzdorf, and on Oct. 12, 1940, married Alvin Janz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Newburg.

He passed away in 1965.

Mrs. Janz enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking.

Survivors include her children, Diane Janz of Cameron, Texas, Judy (Gerald) Hetzel of Hartford, Sharon (the late Richard) Schueller of Muscoda, Ronald (Lina) Janz of Beaver Dam, Donald (Rumiko) Janz of Milwaukee, Linda (Douglas) Kolbach of Grafton, and Harlan (Joann) Janz of Random Lake; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Merzdorf of Fredonia; a sister, Meta Harrington of Brookfield.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Marlene Janz; two sons, Alvin Janz Jr. and Joseph Janz; a sister; and a brother.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington.

Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from noon until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Silver Creek Fire Department are appreciated.

Mildred M. Leair
Mildred M. Leair, 81, nee Stigler, of Oconomowoc, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, July 23, 2001, at Shorehaven Nursing Home, Oconomowoc.

She was born June 17, 1920, in New Berlin to the late Anthony and Marie (nee Kau) Stigler.

Survivors include six sons, Daniel of Samoan, Idaho, William of Ukiah, Calif, Timothy (Pat) of Gillette, Wyo., Paul (Joann) and Jerry (Carol), both of Rubicon and Christopher Leair of Clairmont, Fla.; seven daughters, Ramona (Paul) Petry of Sussex, Jeanine (John) Schauer of Iron Ridge, Kathleen (Robert) Heuser of Oconomowoc, Georgia (Mark) Smedema of Bella Vista, Ark., Laura of Iron Ridge, Debra of Blair and Mary (Eric) Johnson of West Bend; 34 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Lawrence "Bud," Fred, Tom, Harold and Anthony Stigler; two sisters, Dorothy Casper and Regina "Jeanne" Honeyager; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a daughter, Francine Leair.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Phillip Allen and Timothy Berkley officiating.

The family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association are appreciated.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Shorehaven-Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc.

Marjorie C. Lynn
Marjorie C. Lynn, nee Schmid, 78, of West Bend, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Milwaukee, to the late George and Elizabeth(nee Peterson) Schmid, and married Lloyd Lynn on March 27, 1948, in Milwaukee.

The couple moved to West Bend where they owned and operated Lynn's Wastepaper Co.

Her husband passed away Aug. 1, 1991.

Marjorie was a member of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, chairman of the board of Lynn's Wastepaper Co., an avid quilter and with quilters of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, made quilts for missions for Lutheran World Relief, and was an active member of the Quilt Factory in West Bend.

Survivors include four children, Barbara (Charles) Smith of San Diego, Calif., Karen Zunker of West Bend, Lloyd "Bob" (Sandra) Lynn of Kewaskum and Lori (Geoff) Radloff of West Bend; three stepchildren, Richard Lynn of Milwaukee, Sandra Lord and Betty (Richard) Ackerman, both of West Bend; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two brothers-in-law, Matt Zahoryin of San Diego and Willard (Marjorie) Lynn of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church.

Rev. David Meyer will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Quilters Organization or the American Cancer Society are appreciated by the family.

Jerry Conrad
Jerry Conrad, 64, of West Bend, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 22, 1936, in West Bend, to the late Orrin and Lucy (nee Volz ) Conrad.

He attended local schools, receiving a special education diploma from West Bend High School

Jerry was associated with The Threshold Sheltered Workshop and its Clean Sweep Program. He was also employed as a janitor for various local businesses including the West Bend Joint School District, the Exclusive Co. and Dairy Queen.

Bowling and polka music were two of his favorite past-times.

Survivors include three brothers, Eugene, Marvin (Shirley) and Ronald, all of West Bend; a sister, Betty (Bill) Tiefentahler of Redlands, Calif.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a sister-in-law, Donna Conrad.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Fr. Jeffrey Haines will be the presider, and burial will be Friday in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 5 to 6:45 p.m.

The family has requested memorials to The Threshold Sheltered Workshop or ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens).

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.

George R. Dymale
George R. Dymale, 74, of West Bend, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Milwaukee, to the late Henry and Marie (nee Scharrer) Dymale, and married Nan Sceper on Aug. 26, 1950, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

George was employed as a typesetter for many years at The West Bend Daily News and also at Serigraph and the Hartford Booster. He was also a crossing guard for many years.

He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, West Bend, was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling and playing softball.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Mark (Janet) of Ashford, Keith of Milwaukee, and John, Lisa (John) Ryan, David and Chris (Lupe), all of West Bend; five grandchildren, Jennifer Dymale, Mark Dymale Jr., Mitchell Ryan, Casey Jo Ryan and Merari Dymale; a sister, Anita (Alex) Drees of Greenfield; a brother, Robert (Florence) Dymale of Albuquerque, N.M.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Dorothy Walter, and a brother-in-law, Holz Walter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Jeffrey Haines of St. Frances Cabrini Parish will officiate, and burial will be Friday at 9 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.

Clifford H. Schroeder
Clifford H. Schroeder, 64, of Hustisford, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2001, at the Clearview Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Edwin and Helen Schroeder, and in 1960 married Rita Kraetz in Milwaukee at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Clifford served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard submarines in sonar duty.

He enjoyed wood carving as an art, learning the skill from a master carver in Ecuador while in the Peace Corps.

He enjoyed playing musical instruments, and enchanted many people with his magical shows. He spent his life making other people happy.

He is the dearest husband of Rita; the dear father of Paul Schroeder and Linda (John) Engebretson, both of Beaver Dam and the loving grandfather of Andrew, Michael and Elizabeth. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard (Sylvia) of Chicago and Robert (Nancy) of Illinois; four sisters, Claire Schroeder of Chicago, Fran (Edward) Brown of Missouri, Betty Schroeder and Marge Casteel both of Texas; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 10, at 5 p.m. at Holy Hill Shrine Chapel, Hubertus.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the chapel on Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Hill Renovation or the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.

The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, is serving the family.
