Clara M. Rinehart

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 6 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Clara M. Rinehart of Grafton, who died on Aug. 4, 2001, at the age of 83. Fr. Mike Barrett officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Entombment was at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
Mrs. Rinehart was born Sept. 27, 1917 in Milwaukee, daughter of Martin and Albertina (nee Troppl) Krojer. She married Orval Rinehart and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include: sons Richard (Carol) Rinehart of River Falls; Robert (Darlene) Rinehart of Fredonia; daughter Judy (Gene) Pierre of Cedarburg; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orval, who died in 1974; sons Orval Jr. and Thomas Lee and granddaughter Susan L. Pierre.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ruth Hospice are appreciated.

Lindsay Kristen Neuhauser

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at Divine Word Catholic Church for Lindsay Kristen Neuhauser of Cedarburg, who joined her best friend Tory in heaven after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s Iymphoma on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001 at the age of 10.
Visitation will be held at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, 10280 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 1-4 p.m. Interment will be private.

Lindsay designed the 2000 MACC Star. She was the honorary chair of the 2001 American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Ozaukee County. She was a student at Thorsen Elementary School in Cedarburg.

Survivors include parents Jeffrey and Susan (nee Allan) Neuhauser; siblings Kelsey and Jackson; grandparents Lloyd and Carol Allan and Benedict and Catherine Neuhauser; great-grandmother Ida Mae Allan; aunts and uncles Roger Allan, Kurt Allan, B. James (Mary) Neuhauser, Jerome (Linda) Neuhauser, Cathleen Sanders, Connie (Jim) Kwilasz.

She is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends, her classmates at Thorson Elementary School, her fellow Girl Scouts and her extra special friends Amanda Cleary and Adam Rossmann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the MACC Fund, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin H.O.T. Unit or the Thorson Elementary School Nature Fund would be appreciated.

Carl J. Erdmann

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton for Carl J. Erdmann, formerly of Grafton, who died on Aug. 5, 2001 at the age of 95. Rev. Suelflow will officiate at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Grafton.

Mr. Erdmann was born Sept. 15, 1905 in Watertown, son of Gustav and Bertha (nee Bergdoll Heiden) Erdmann. He married Norma Conrad of Watertown on Sept. 20, 1928 at St. Mark’s Church in Watertown.

He owned and operated Erdmann’s Rexall Drug Store in Grafton for 35 years. He was a very active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton and in the Grafton Lions Club. He was the oldest member of the Grafton Lions Club and the group presented him with Melvin Jones Fellow and Sixty Year Charter Member awards. He also received the first Outstanding Citizens Award from the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include: sons Carl Jr. (Carol) Erdmann of Indiana polis, David (Mitzi) Erdmann of Hopkins, Minn.; grandchildren Ted (Mary) Kegeris, Suzanne (Art) Denecke, James (Denise) Erdmann, John (Tish) Erdmann, Michael (Rindee) Erdmann, Steve (Deb) Erdmann, Andy (Jenny) Erdmann.

He is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren, sister Dell Walling, sister-in-law Gertrude Erdmann, brothers-in-law Ron Walling and Clarence Tessmann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma, who died in 1988.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Bethesda Lutheran Home.

Marvin John "Tiny" Dodge

A visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Marvin John "Tiny" Dodge, who died on Aug. 3, 2001 at his home in Brown Deer at the age of 69. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
He was born in Kiel on June 2, 1932, the son of the late Perry and Erna (nee Gobel) Dodge. He was married to the late Alice (nee Kunde.) He worked for Briggs and Stratton as a warehouse supervisor. He was a U.S.M.C Korean War veteran.

He is survived by a brother, Marlin "Slim" Dodge; a sister, Doris (Virgil) Olson; nieces, Robin (Larry) Linsmeyer, Suzanne (Dean) Davis, Judith (Rod) Moon; nephew, Lee Olson, other relatives and friends.

Ruth Markielewski

Ruth Markielewski, nee Mercier, formerly Belleau, 65, of the town of Wayne, died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
She was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Stanley, to the late Edward H. and Marian R. (nee Cox) Mercier, and married Leonard Belleau on Nov. 17, 1956, in Milwaukee.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Milwaukee where she was employed at the former Murphy Diesel, Northwestern Mutual Insurance Co., and later at the Sears store at Brookfield Square.

Leonard passed away on Sept. 10, 1982.

Following her marriage to Edward Markielewski on Nov. 8, 1988, in Waukesha, Ruth came to the West Bend area.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Julie Belleau of Windsor, Colo.; three stepsons, Bruce Markielewski of Engelwood, Colo., Brian (Julie) Markielewski of Naperville, Ill. and Barry (Kim) Markielewski of West Bend; two grandchildren, Donald and Christopher Gierach; two step-grandchildren, Megan and Nicole Markielewski; two sisters and five brothers, Adeline Garton of Rockfield, Ill., James (Dorothy) Mercier of Colby, Richard (Judy) Mercier of Ashland, Edward (Sharon) Mercier of Cottage Grove, Pete (Carol) Mercier of Colby, Jeannie (Glen) Gruber of Roseville, Minn. and David Mercier; a brother-in-law, Emil Rasmussen of Waupun; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Pat Rasmussen and Betty Hansen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

Fr. Patrick Wendt of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate, and burial of the cremated remains will be Wednesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Russell A. "Shorty" Dautermann

Russell A. "Shorty" Dautermann, 77, of Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Hartford Memorial Hospital with his loving wife and children at his side when he peacefully slept away.
He was born June 22, 1924, in Milwaukee, to the late Alwin and Clara (nee Zaun) Dautermann, and married June Sterr on Jan. 2, 1946, at St. John's Catholic Church, Nenno.

Shorty was a carpenter by trade, and was also was a past president and trustee of the village of Neosho and chief of the Neosho Fire Department.

Survivors include his loving wife; three dear sons, Joe (Joan), Bruce (Bobbi) and Brian (Mary), all of Hartford; two dear daughters, Joan Hauser and Janel (Paul) Stephans, both of Hartford; 13 precious grandchildren, Troy (Deb) and Eric Dautermann, Travis, already in heaven and Justin Hauser, Amanda and Koa Dautermann, Brandon and Cody Dautermann, Jordan, Aaron, Maria, Monica and Julia Stephans; two precious great-grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Dautermann; two sisters, Betty (Lester) Klink of Rubicon and Judy (Harold) Held of Neosho; a brother, Ralph Dautermann of California; a sister-in-law, Gloria Dautermann of Beloit; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Robert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Fr. Michael Petrie will officiate, and interment will be in St. Kilian Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Herbert W. Ramel

Herbert W. Ramel, 86, of Kewaskum, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls.
He was born Jan. 10, 1915, in the town of Scott, to the late Gustave and Augusta (Winter) Ramel, and on June 21, 1939, married Gladys Tackes.

Over the years the couple enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and some foreign countries.

Mr. Ramel was employed by Regal Ware Inc. in Kewaskum, retiring in 1979 after 31 years of service and was a member of the 25-Year Club.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, the Holy Name Society, and Modern Woodmen.

Mr. Ramel enjoyed playing sheepshead and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diann (Donald) Thomas of Random Lake; four grandchildren, Tracy Thomas (fiance Brian Johnston), Tammy, Todd (Mi-chelle) and Terry Thomas; six great-grandchildren, Brittney Johnston, Aaliyah, Dylan, Ashley, Steven and Jessica Thomas; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Arno, and two sisters, Ida Utech and Edna Backhause.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, at 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum, following a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum.

Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery, Dacada.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Erna H. Erickson

Erna H. Erickson (nee McFarlane) of Fond du Lac, formerly of the Kewaskum area, died on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac at the age of 84 years.
She was born on May 31, 1917, in Tigerton, Wis., to the late Oris and Esther (nee Mickelson) McFarlane.

Following her marriage to Raymond L. Erickson on July 16, 1935, in Wittenberg, they moved to Waupaca County and then settled in the Kewaskum area in 1941. For the past year and a half, she has been living in Fond du Lac. Raymond predeceased January 31, 1981.

Survivors include six children: Ronald of West Bend (special friend Elaine Briel of Milwaukee), Shelby (Darrel) Hills of Fond du Lac, Marlyn (Delores) of West Bend, Cynthia Brueggeman of Fond du Lac, Dennis (Mary) of Woodruff, and Niles (Dorothy) of Green Bay; 15 grandchildren: Ralph (Chris) of Stoughton, Mark (Amy) of Iron Mountain, Mich., Jenny (Terry) Sell of West Bend, Sherry (Angel) Quinonez of Floresville, Tex., Linda (Perry) Gout of Lakewood, Wash., David (Mary Kay) Hills of Waupaca, Colleen (Jason) Yanke of Rhinelander, Father Ryan of Hudson, Sonya (Brian) Dudor of Oak Creek, Travis of Campbellsport, Michelle (Michael) Curry, Brian Brueggeman and Angela Brueggeman (special friend Chad Peschke), all of Fond du Lac, Nathan (Stephanie) of De Pere and Benjamin of Green Bay; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister: Judy (George) Griepentrog of Tigerton; two sisters-in-law: Rosella (Ken) McLean and Adeline (George) Williams, both of Oshkosh; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald, one daughter-in-law, Helga Erickson, two grandchildren, Donna, Leland and Kristopher Erickson, one great-granddaughter, Christina Quinonez, and her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with Reverend James Eckblad of Immanuel United Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed at Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation was at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services. The family has requested that memorials be given to the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
