Kenneth "Kenny" R. Anderson
Kenneth "Kenny" R. Anderson, age 85, N1869 Anderson Rd., town of Hill, Ogema, Wis., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Nenno, Wis.

Kenneth was born Sept. 4, 1915, on the family homestead in the town of Hill, Ogema, Wis., to the late Charles "Charlie" and Anna (nee Bergeson) Anderson, attended Ring School, and was a lifelong resident of the town of Hill.

He was united in marriage to the former Emma Colberg on Dec. 9, 1939, at First Lutheran Church in Ogema.

During WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a dairy farmer at the family homestead prior to owning and operating his own trucking and logging business for 30 years.

After retiring from the logging business, he and his wife were employed with the Franzen Brothers Circus for 12 years.

The circus had been owned by their nephew, Wayne Franzen.

Kenneth enjoyed hunting, selling maple syrup and axe handles, and most of all, visiting with people.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ogema, the Southern Price County V.F.W. Post 8491, the Johnson-Hallberg American Legion Post 407 of Ogema, and was a former Vice Commander.

He is survived by seven children, Larry (Gladys) Anderson, Prentice, Wis., Dale (Lisa) Anderson, Nenno, Wis., Judy Ferre, Madison, Jane (Rick) Holm, Prentice, Diane Anderson, Madison, Dennis (Deborah) Anderson, Port Washington, Allan (Laurie) Anderson, Ogema; one brother, Reverend Charles "Buddy" (Lauris) Anderson, Sparta; grandchildren and great grandchildren Michelle (Tim) Miller, Garrett and Alexandra; Jodi (Ed) Anderson-Jones, Sarah and Branden; Paul (Candace) Anderson, Henry; Jenny (Jose) Anderson, Piera; Jakob Anderson, Anita Anderson, Cris Ferre, Ryan Ferre, Al C. Sonya (Jorel) Ferre, Jorel; Brent Holm, Sasha Holm, Nikki Anderson, Caitlin Anderson, and Cassey Anderson. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant daughter, Susie Anderson, one brother, Leonard (Agnes) Anderson, four sisters, Esther (Roy) Erickson, Mabel Anderson, Irene Anderson and Luella (Harold) Peterson.

Visitation will be at First Lutheran Church in Ogema on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday morning, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Pastor Matthew Lee officiating.

Pallbearers will be Don Stelzer, George "Bud" Swanson, Bill Conrad, David Erickson, Richard Erickson, and Rick Holm. Memorials are appreciated.

Interment is at Garden of Memories in the town of Hill, with full military honors conducted by the Johnson-Hallberg American Legion Post 407 of Ogema, and Southern Price County V.F.W. Post 8491.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake are serving the family.

Jack M. Sabella
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at Tom’s Lighthouse, 2150 Harbor Island Drive in San Diego for Jack M. Sabella, who died at St. Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital on Aug. 6, 2001 at the age of 53.

Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family.

Mr. Sabella was born in San Diego, the son of Jacqueline (nee Bono) and the late Frank Sabella on Sept. 11, 1947. He married Jan (nee Hammond) Sabella on Nov. 10, 1968 in San Diego.

He worked as a salesman selling industrial products.

Jack is survived by his best friend and beloved wife Jan; children Nicole (Luke) Downer and Frank (fiancee Danielle); mother Jacqueline Sabella; brother Anthony (O’Linda); sister Kathy (Jack) Brenha. He is further survived by many relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Make a Wish Foundation of Wisconsin or Cope Ozaukee.

Andrew "Andy" C. Kempf
Private services were held for Andrew "Andy" C. Kempf, age 24, of Grafton, who passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon, on Aug. 8, 2001, after a long courageous battle with a brain tumor.

Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg is assisting the family.

Mr. Kempf was born on July 14, 1977, in Kenosha, to Charles and Suzanne (nee Kerbs) Kempf and lived most of his life in Racine, where he attended public schools through eighth grade. He then entered Racine Lutheran High School from which he graduated in 1996.

Along with his family, he moved to Grafton in 1997. He began working at that time as a clerk for the Burnet Title Company in Mequon, where he continued employment until his illness forced him to stop working in 2000. When not working, he enjoyed listening to music, going to dance clubs and amusement parks, and playing video games.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Suzanne Kempf of Grafton; a sister Robyn Kempf of Grafton; aunts Gretchen Peck of Fox Point and Sharon Kerbs of Bayside; uncle John Lehmann of Bayside; cousin Paul Peck of Milwaukee.

He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and cousin Ralph Peck III.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Mr. Kenneth "Mac" B. McKenna
Mr. Kenneth "Mac" B. McKenna, 74, of Random Lake was called to rest on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at his home.

He was born on April 28, 1927, in the town of Holland, the son of the late John and Verna (Kies) McKenna.

At an early age his family moved to Random Lake where he resided his entire life.

He attended St. Mary’s Grade School, Random Lake High School and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948. On October 24, 1953, he was untied in marriage to Ruth Domann at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Random Lake.

He was employed by Krier Preserving Co. for 22 years and by Bolens Manufacturing from 10 years when he was forced to retire due to a visual handicap.

He attended three summer sessions at the Wisconsin School for the Blind in Janesville and was then employed as a part-time janitor at Times Printing in Random Lake until 1999 when his health started to fail due to heart disease.

He still tried hard and did his best at everything he could as working was one of his favorite pastimes. He had a part-time antique furniture/stripping business and was challenged by hundreds of beautiful pieces.

Mac (as most people called him), loved to live, lived to love and loved to laugh. He knew a lot of people, had many friends, became interested in and was a member of the Random Lake Historical Society. He liked to visit and told many stories about Random Lake in the "good old days." He was an avid bowler and liked sports, most of all baseball and the New York Yankees. He attended the senior citizens meal site, enjoyed playing card games and was proud of his Irish heritage.

Prior to his death, he was hospitalized for two and a half weeks before coming home to be cared for by his loving wife and daughter. When God saw him getting weaker, He called him to his final home. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends.

Mr. McKenna was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Chapel in Random Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Random Lake; his daughter, Debra (David) Verhage of Plover; three grandchildren, Matthew (Sara) Verhage of Neenah, Wendy and Heidi Verhage of Plover; a great-grandson, Jacob Verhage of Neenah; a brother, Roger (Audrey) McKenna of Kewaskum; a sister, Patricia (Clayton) TenPas of Plymouth; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Chapel in Random Lake. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate and burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Sherman Center.

Friends may call the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Random Lake Historical Society, Badger home for the Blind or to the charity of one’s choice.

Rev. Guy Lofy
Rev. Guy Lofy, OCD, of Milwaukee was born to Eternal Life on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the age of 77.

He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Milwaukee, the son of Joseph and Catherine Lofy.

He was ordained in June of 1948 in Washington D.C. into the Order of Discalced Carmelite Friars.

He is survived by his brothers, Benjamin Lofy, Frank (Donna) Lofy; sister-in-law Caroline Lofy; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 4:30 p.m. at Holy Hill Shrine Chapel, Hubertus. Visitation will be today at the Chapel from 2:15-4:15 p.m.

Interment will be at Discalced Carmelite Monastery Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Hill Shrine are appreciated.

Margaret B. Baertlein
Margaret B. Baertlein, nee Gundrum, 92, of West Bend died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her residence.
She was born to Henry (Helen Replinger) Gundrum on Sept. 11, 1908, in the town of Saukville. She married Edwin Baertlein on June 14, 1930, at St. Bernard Church in Wauwatosa.

She lived with her husband on their farm south of West Bend from 1936 to 1974. I 1974, the couple moved into the city of West Bend. She enjoyed rug braiding, gardening, as well as fishing. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years. She was a deeply religious and spiritual woman, but above all she was always a loving, caring and devout mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.

She is survived by three children, Robert (Delores) Baertlein of West Bend, Lee (Mary) Baertlein of Mequon and Eileen Harter of Fredonia; one foster daughter, Jeanne Kaye and family of Campbellsport; 14 grandchildren, Robert Jr., Michael, Daniel, Curtis, Lisa, Krista, Renee, Alicia, Craig, Brian, Linda, Ken, Julie and Gwen; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Gundrum; one sister, Clara Strauss; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 1, 1998; two daughters, Laura Larson and Lavern Baertlein; one grandson, Randall; two sisters, Rose and Olive; and one brother, Raymond.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Father Jeff Haines officiating.

Private family interment services will follow on Wednesday.

Visitation will be at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend from 4-6:30 p.m. The closing of casket and prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Alfred H. Schmidt
Alfred H. Schmidt, 72, of 254 W. Main St., Campbellsport, died on Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at the Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.

He was born in Allenton on Oct. 26, 1928, the son of Michael and Anita Emmer Schmidt. On April 28, 1948, he married Florence Weiland at St. Kilian Catholic Church, St. Kilian.

He worked for Petrolane in Allenton, and then for Fuge Plumbing in West Bend prior to operating Schmidt Plumbing in Campbellsport until retiring. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; his children, Michael (Susan) of St. Lawrence, Lorraine (Norbert) Serwe of Campbellsport, LaVerne (John) Kreif of Campbellsport, Christine Schmidt of California and John of Campbellsport; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Harvey (Rhea) of West Bend, John (Betty) of Theresa, Dorothy Heinecke of St. Anthony, Clarence (Margie) of West Bend, Herbert (Dorothy) of West Bend and Arlene (George) Deuber of Indiana ; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Alfred was preceded in death by one son, Robert; his parents; one brother, Joe; one brother-in-law, Pete Heinecke; one grandson, Keith; and one granddaughter-n-law, Michelle Serwe.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be on Thursday in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be on Wednesday at 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Donald John Kedinger
Donald John Kedinger, age 71, of rural Campbellsport, passed away suddenly Monday, Aug. 6, 2001.

He was born Dec. 2, 1929, the son of the late William and Frances Schwartz Kedinger. on Aug. 24, 1947, he married Virginia Joyce Hoffmann at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.

He graduated from Lomira High School in 1947. Don was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Lomira. He farmed all of his life on the farm where he was born. He loved farming and was a member of the Dodge County Farm Bureau. He always loved a good conversation.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Virginia "Ginny;" one adoring daughter, Jean (Charles) Vorpahl of Campbellsport; two beloved sons, David of Campbellsport, and William "Bill" of New London; one cherished granddaughter, Kelly Ahlers (fiance Jason Staffin) of Whitewater; three step-grandchildren, Jeff (Carol) Vorpahl, Sheboygan Falls, Julie (Randy) Voigt, Lac Du Flambeau, Sandy (Tom) Pfotenauer, Campbellsport; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Gross of Campbellsport; stepmother, Mary Hoff of Lomira; two sisters-in-law , Mary Georg of Fond du Lac, and Arlene (Lloyd) Weninger of Brownsville; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law.

Visitation and funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lomira, with the Reverend Daniel Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Lomira.

The Kietzer Funeral Home in Lomira assisted the family.
