Royal W. "Roy" Rosenthal
Royal W. "Roy" Rosenthal, 77, of Lomira, formerly of West Bend, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center of Lomira.

He was born June 17 , 1924, in West Bend, to the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Oelhafen) Rosenthal, and graduated from Custer High School in 1942.

He served in the 101st Air Borne Division of the U.S. Army during World War II.

Roy became a plastics engineer for Gould Plastics of Minneapolis, Minn., later known as G.N.B. Plastics, for over 25 years, retiring in 1987.

On June 23, 1979, he married Lois G. Bolender at Wellington Park Lutheran Church of Milwaukee.

Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Eileen (Elmer) Marks of Colgate and Gloria Vedra of Milwaukee; two brothers, Ralph (Pat) Rosenthal of Random Lake and Gary (Toni) Groth of Oak Creek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was his faithful companion, Tippy, his dog.

Roy was a member of the Lincoln Lodge F&AM, SDE, WI Scottish Rite, Tripoli Temple, the VFW Lodge 1393 and the 101st A/B Div. Association.

Masonic funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, followed by a military service.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend, and interment of ashes will be at Valhalla Memorial Park of Milwaukee.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorials are appreciated to Alzheimer's Research of Wisconsin.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the administration, nurses and staff of the Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center of Lomira.

Richard Martin Fromm
Richard Martin Fromm, 58, of West Bend, died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at the Hartford Care Center.

He was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Port Washington in Ozaukee County to the late Martin and Esther (nee Schreiber) Fromm.

He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and attended Elm Tree Elementary Country School and First Immanuel Lutheran School.

Richard worked at Fromm Orchards, the Cedarburg Woolen Mills and at the time of his death was working at The Threshold in West Bend.

Survivors include four brothers, William (LaVern) of Parker, Colo., Wallace (Marge) of Sparta, Warren and Arthur, both of Madison; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Rev. Bryan O'Connor will officiate, and interment will be in Immanuel Cemetery, Cedarburg.

Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is assisting the family.

Memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Russell "Russ" J. Steger

A Memorial Mass was held Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Russell "Russ" J. Steger of Grafton, who died on Aug. 24, 2001 at the age of 37. Fr. Mike Barrett officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Mr. Russell was born Sept. 13, 1963 in Milwaukee, son of Clemens Steger and Joyce (nee Barzyk). He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include: mother Joyce Jago of Waupun; father Clemens Steger of Cedarburg; brother Rick (Lynn) Steger of Grafton, half-brother John Jago of Plymouth; aunts Maxine Barzyk of Milwaukee, Thelma Steger of Redgranite, Joan (Ken) Hudak of Milwaukee; uncles Gary (Darcel) Barzyk of Beaver Dam, Jim (Lee) Barzyk of Crown Point, Mike Barzyk of Milwaukee.

He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Walter C. Buczek

Walter C. Buczek, 82, of Campbellsport, died Wednesday Aug. 29, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born Sept. 5, 1918, in the town of Mequon, to the late Frank and Victoria (Kovenow) Buczek, and on Nov. 3, 1945, married Eva Schram at St. Paul's Church, Bayview.

Walter farmed in the Saukville area and later in the town of Ashford, and was a milk hauler. He also operated a tavern in Kewaskum from 1955 to 1967.

Walter was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

Survivors include his wife; children, Dorothy Kleinke of West Bend, Paul (Donna), John and Richard, all of Campbellsport; two granddaughters, Tracy (Nate) Weseman and Melissa Kleinke; a sister, Gertrude Buczek of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at noon at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.

Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate, and burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Saukville.

Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport is assisting the family.

Tracy Lee Gessner
Tracy Lee Gessner, 22, of Beechwood, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, due to injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born June 20, 1979, in Sheboygan, to Byron J. and Sharon (Vande Boom) Gessner.

Survivors include his parents, Byron J. and Sharon Gessner of Beechwood; two children, Tyler Leon Gessner and Cheyenne Rose Gessner, both of Hartford; two brothers, Randy Gessner of Campbellsport and Danny Gessner of Beechwood; a sister, Wendy Gessner of Beechwood; paternal grandfather, Byron W. (Margie) Gessner of Beechwood; maternal grandparents, George and Frances Vande Boom of Newburg; maternal great-grandmother, Lucy Waldkirch of West Bend; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandmother, Rosella L. Gessner, and an uncle, Leon Vande Boom.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Beechwood.

Rev. William Wiederanders will officiate, and cremation will follow.

Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Norman J. Ziegelbauer
Norman J. Ziegelbauer, 84, of Hartford, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Hartford Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 27, 1917, in Hartford, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Theisen) Ziegelbauer.

Norman loved farming, gardening, fishing and selling his produce at area farmer's markets.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, John Franzen of Wautoma; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister, Myrtle Franzen, and a nephew, Glenn Franzen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, Allenton.

Father Breitbach will officiate, and interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence.

Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, is assisting the family.

Anita E. Kraemer
Anita E. Kraemer, 90, formerly of Campbellsport, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend, with her devoted daughter, Jane, at her side.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1910, in Elmore, the daughter and only cherished child of Albert and Clara (Kleinhans) Struebing.

She graduated from St. Mary's Spring Academy and Milwaukee Downer Teacher's College.

Anita married Henry Kraemer on Nov. 9, 1935, and they were blessed with children: Kathryn (Harold) Mueller of West Bend and Mesa, Ariz., Karen (Jim) Twohig of Albuquerque, N.M., Jane (Rich) Miller of West Bend and John (Carol) Kraemer of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Nick, Tom, Scott and Steve Mueller, Mary Jo Green, Jamie and Mary Rose Twohig, Jyl Purdy, Mary Claire, Jeff and Kyle Miller and Eva and Katie Kraemer; and great-grandchildren, Dan, Michael and Sara Mueller, Nathan, Dustin and Katie Mueller and Blade Purdy.

She is also survived by a sister-in-law Estelle Papia; nieces; and cherished friends.

Her husband, Henry, passed away on May 15, 1999.

Anita began her teaching career in Lomira and Fairwater, married and raised her children, and then returned to teaching at St. Matthew's Elementary School in Campbellsport.

She was an active member of the Campbellsport community, participating in the Women's Club, St. Matthew's Church and Altar and Rosary Society, bridge and bowling groups.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association may be made in lieu of flowers.

Her family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care of the staff at the Samaritan Health Center where she resided for the past 11 years.
