Edward A. Bublitz

Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton for Edward A. Bublitz of Grafton, who died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington at the age of 21.
Visitation was held at the funeral home, while interment took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.

Mr. Bublitz was born Jan. 27, 1909 in Milwaukee, the son of the late Paul and Anna (nee Timm) Bublitz and married the late Edna (nee Stewart) on April 5, 1929.

He was a retired employee of Mercury Marine.

He is survived by his children Rodney (Marion) of Fond du Lac, Joanne (Paul) Cornwell of Grafton, Jack (Vi) of Grafton, Paul (Susan) of Wautauga, Texas, Donna Wedereit of Grafton and Timm (Hazel) of West Bend.

He is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Neil and Phillip.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.

Elsie E. Bold

A funeral was held on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center in Brookfield for Elsie E. Bold, of Cedarburg, who died on Aug. 22, 2001. Private entombment was held. Church and Chapel Funeral Service, Milwaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Bold was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Cedarburg Senior Center.

Survivors include her husband Willard Bold; brothers John Schaefer, David Schaefer; sister Freda Skvarce.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ronald Ruplinger
Ronald Ruplinger, 53, of 422 Jenny St., Campbellsport, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born in Fond du Lac on Dec. 10, 1947, the son of John and Edna Wondra Ruplinger. On July 27, 1984, he married Ann Hron in West bend.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart in 1968. Ron was a rural mail carrier working out of the Kewaskum Post Office since 1984. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and vice president of the Kettle Moraine Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid hunter, golfer and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; his children, Lisa (Jeff) Czerwinski of Farmersville, Jay (Vicki) of Kewaskum, Jeremy (special friend Katie) of Eden and Josh at home; his grandchildren, Hayley and Cheyenne Czerwinski; his parents, John and Edna Ruplinger of Kewaskum; brothers and sisters, Donald (Barb) of Kewaskum, Sharon (Kelly) Rauch of Campbellsport, Mary (Dennis) Junk of Kewaskum and Mike of Kewaskum; nieces and nephews, Bret Rauch, Tracy Coulter, Julie Ruplinger and Becky and Jacob Junk; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. today at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1 p.m. concluding with a prayer service at 5 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport.

Earl P. "Rocky" Neuman
Earl P. "Rocky" Neuman, 86, of Slinger, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

He was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Tigerton, to the late Charles and Emma (Wendt) Neuman, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

After his marriage to Jane H. Frank on Dec. 21, 1946, in Tigerton, the couple lived in various places and settled in Slinger in 1952.

He was an operating engineer for Local 139 of Pewaukee for over 36 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of St. John's UCC of Slinger, Local 139 of Pewaukee and a past member of the VFW Post of Tigerton.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Gail (Richard) Krolow of Tigerton and John (Rita) Neuman of Slinger; four grandchildren, Amy (Tim) Krolow-Maas of Marion, Peter (Laura) Krolow of Tigerton, Jesse (Heather) Neuman of Sussex and Gina Neuman of Hartford; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Krolow and Benjamin Maas; two sisters, Nora Anderson of Milwaukee and Caroline (Carl) Rausch of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Jessie Neuman of Tigerton; a brother, Orin (Geraldine) Neuman of Wittenberg; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were three sisters, Leona, Alivila and Jane; two brothers, Harvard and Elmer; and a stepson, Dennis Frank.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger.

Pastor John Tschudy will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend with interment of ashes in Union Cemetery in Tigerton.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

David D. Panzer
David D. Panzer, 27, of West Bend died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, West Bend, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

He was born Jan. 8, 1974, in West Bend to Dorothy Kutz and Kenneth Neuy.

David loved rebuilding cars and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Panzer of Fond du Lac; his mother, Dorothy (Donald) Atchison of West Bend; his father, Kenneth (Joy) Neuy of West Bend; a sister, Cheryl (Bill) Dayton of West Bend; a brother, Jamie Neuy of West Bend; two step-sisters, Jessica (Shane) Longdin of Fond du Lac and Sarah Atchison of Fond du Lac; a stepbrother, William Atchison of Fond du Lac; his maternal grandmother, Florence Kutz of Campbellsport; his paternal grandmother, Marion Topel of Grand Marsh; his step-grandparents, Alvin and Janet Panzer Sr. of Rhinelander; his step-grandmother, Geri Atchison of Fond du Lac; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Neuy; his stepfather, Alvin Panzer; his maternal grandfather, Henry Kutz; and his paternal grandfather, Arthur Neuy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 2:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Daniel Luetke of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, West Bend, will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home will be on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Dalvine P. "Dal" Tackes
Dalvine P. "Dal" Tackes, 62, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dal was born Aug. 24, 1939, to the late Robert and Helen Tackes.

He served four years with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, where he met and married his wife, Christa Hammes of 43 years.

He received associate degrees in arts and in applied science in structural technology.

Dal was proud to be a district council delegate member with the United Brotherhood of Carpenter's Local Union 2283, an executive board regional council member with the Milwaukee and Southern Wisconsin Regional Council of Carpenters, and a commissioner with the Wallace Lake Sanitary District.

He most recently worked as the project superintendent for Bentley Construction.

He will be deeply missed by his wife; two daughters, Barbara (Mark) Phillips of Colorado and Janice (Richard) Betchkal of Calendonia; and two granddaughters, Katy and Cassandra Phillips.

He was the cherished brother of Gladys Ramel, Virginia Schneider, Adeline Flasch, Darleen (special friend Harry) Rochwite, Darceal (Henry) Jordon, Willard (Bertha) Tackes, Orvile Tackes; his special sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Howard) Turner; and brother-in-law to Gladys Tackes.

Further surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Allen and Marvin; a sister, Joyce Tackes; and three brothers-in-law, Herbert Ramel, Philip Schneider and Wilmer Flasch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in the town of Farmington (corner of Highways 28 and 144).

Father Robert Attmann will officiate, and interment will be in St. John of God Cemetery, town of Farmington.

Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 8 p.m.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Dal's family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care of the staff at the Kettle Moraine Oncology Center and the St.Joseph's Community Hospital Hospice Care Unit, who helped care for him during his illness.

Verland A. Olson

A funeral service will be held today at 7 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Verland A. Olson, 80, who died on Sept. 2, 2001, at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held today at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Wilmer Reichmann will officiate the service. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family.

Mr. Olson was born on June 17, 1921, in Green Bay to the late Hilman Olson and the late Vanda Peterson. He was a resident of Black River Falls for most of his life until he attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a member of the UW Marching Band and was involved in the Kappa Eta Kappa fraternity as well as the Eta Kappa Nu fraternity, of which he was the president. He graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in electrical engineering.

He went on to become a key contributor in the development of radar during WW II. He also worked on the Inertial Guidance System for NASA and was presented with the Apollo Space Program Achievement Award. He also received the War Manpower Commission Committee on Scientific Research Personnel Award.

He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Olson (nee Rushton) of Grafton; children: Christi Olson of Port Washington and Jacqueline (Dennis) Weeden of Cedarburg; grandchildren: Kirsten (Anthony) Claas of Wauwatosa, Nicole (Scott) Valdez of Grafton, Kaari (Scott) Cottrell of Wauwatosa and Brett Weeden of Milwaukee; great-grandchildren Aaron and Samuel Cottrell of Wauwatosa and Mitchell Claas of Wauwatosa. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Vivian (nee Schoville).

The family has requested that memorials can be made to either VITAS Hospice Care or First Immanuel Lutheran Church.
