Sylvester M. Wolf
Sylvester M. Wolf, 83, of West Bend, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Richfield, to the late Peter and Elizabeth (nee Weinert) Wolf, and as an infant, his family settled in West Bend.
He married Harriet M. Werner on Sept. 27, 1947, at Holy Angels Church, West Bend.
After graduating from West Bend High School, he worked at Held's Meat market as a meat cutter.
During World War II he served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.
Following his discharge, he returned to Held's as a meat cuter until 1956 when he became employed at the former Line Material Co. as a plant superintendent until retiring in 1974.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Kay (William) McNeer of Davenport, Iowa and Thomas (Cindy) Wolf of West Bend; four grandchildren, Brian (Darcy) McNeer of Tiffin, Iowa, Cory McNeer of Iowa City, Iowa and Brandon Wolf and Megan Wolf, both of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Leander (Kay) Schmidt and Robert (Phyllis) Werner and a sister-in-law, Alice Werner, all of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with burial in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Patricia Luedtke
Patricia Luedtke, 59, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at the Area Nursing Home in Colfax.
She was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Bloomer, to Jerome and Elsie (Sikora) Smetana, and graduated from Chippewa McDonnell High School in 1960.
She was united in marriage to Larry Luedtke on July 12, 1961, in Stillwater, Minn., and the couple lived in West Bend for 25 years before moving to Lake Hallie in 1996.
Due to ill health she entered the nursing home in October of 2000.
Pat had been an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend and a volunteer in the Mequon and Newburg public libraries.
She loved to read and write to her many world-wide pen pals.
Survivors include her husband of rural Chippewa Falls; a daughter, Rebecca (Brian) Rahn of Hartford; her mother, Elsie Smetana of the Chippewa Falls Lakeside Nursing Home; a brother, Tom (Jill) Smetana of Rice Lake; two grandsons, Spencer and Cody Rahn; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Augusta, with burial in the Ludington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday until the time of services.
Maynard W. Schoenbeck
Maynard W. Schoenbeck, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital after a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with leukemia.
He was born May 11, 1918, in West Bend, to the late Otto and Lena (nee Paff) Schoenbeck, and married Marion Konrad on Oct. 14, 1944.
Following their marriage they settled on the family farm in the town of Trenton.
In addition to farming, Maynard was a real estate broker and was involved in the town of Trenton Board of Appeals and was an original and current member of the town of Trenton Planning Commission.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, bowling, playing bass fiddle in the orchestra and spending time with his family.
Maynard was also an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marion; five children, Beverly (Don) Buckmann and Eileen (John) Noegel, both of West Bend, Gary (Ruth) of Fond du Lac, Alan of West Bend and Laurie (Tim) Rudd of Menomonee Falls, and 12 grandchildren, Diana (Richard) Osberg of Minneapolis, Sandra Buckmann, Brian (Melanie) Buckmann, John Noegel and Jeremy Noegel, all of West Bend, Rachel and Ryan Haensgen and Katie and Kristin Schoenbeck, all of Fond du Lac, and Andrew, Kayla and Matthew Rudd of Menomonee Falls. He is further survived by a great-grandson, Tanner Buckmann; a brother-in-law, Lloyd (Marion) Konrad of Dallas, Texas; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a dear son, Dale, and a brother, Earl.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.
Pastor George Mumm and Pastor Cal Seban will co-officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Tuesday after 4 p.m. and also Wednesday at the church only from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to the Leukemia Society or St. John's Lutheran Church and School are appreciated.
Maynard's family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care of the staff at the Froedtert Oncology Center and St. Joseph's Community Hospital Hospice Care Unit, who helped care for him during his illness. A special thank you to Dr. Gary Herdrich for his years of special care and loving friendship.
Kaila Michelle Flaskrud
Kaila Michelle Flaskrud, the 11-week -old daughter of Penny and Matt Flaskrud of Horicon, joined the angels in heaven on Friday, Sept. 7, 2001.
She was born on June 20, 2001, in Beaver Dam to Penny (nee Brunner) and Matthew Flaskrud.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Kimberly and Kelsey, and two brothers, Kyle and Kevin, all at home; her grandparents, Dennis and Paula Brunner of West Bend, Bonnie Osgood of Blair, Dennis and Sonjia Flaskrud of Chippewa Falls; a step-grandfather, Tom Osgood of Tilden; great-grandparents, Richard Brunner of Durand, Sandy Bazelak of West Bend, Harold Tylka of Eau Claire; aunts; uncles; cousins; and other relatives
Preceding her in death were great-grandparents, Marcella Brunner, Clement Bazelak, Agnes and Selmer Flaskrud, Gloria Tylka, Elfrieda Nazer and Frank Hill; and a cousin, Mitchell Brunner.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of the Angels at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church (due to construction at Holy Angels Church).
Father John Wutschek will be the presider, and burial will follow.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from noon until the time of services.

Armond F. Smith
Armond F. Smith, 83, of West Bend, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born July 13, 1918, in Kewaskum, to the late Roman and Kathryn (nee Eirschele) Smith, and married Elizabeth "Betty" Groh on Sept. 14, 1940, at St. Matthias Church in Nabob.
Armond was a lifelong resident of the West Bend area. He was employed at The West Bend Co. for over 40 years where he was a foreman, supervisor and worked in the engineering department.
He enjoyed woodworking and was skilled at working with black walnut and cherry. He also enjoyed renovating large pieces of machinery.
Armond was a member of the 25-year Club at The West Bend Co.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Geraldine "Gerri" (Donald) Ness of Millersville, Md., Diane (Larry) Cooper of Plymouth, Mich., Jean (Michael) Braatz of North Las Vegas, Nev. and Ruth (Thomas) Heinecke of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Greg (Valerie) Ness, Donna (David) Dodrill, David Cooper, Jennifer (Chad) Chichester, Michelle (Al) Guardado, Scott Braatz, Andy (fiancee Denise Derkowski) Heinecke, Joseph Heinecke and Katie Heinecke; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Mary (Stan) Konstanz of Missouri, Mary Smith, Dorothy Smith and Norma Smith, all of West Bend; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were brothers and sisters, Raymond, Harold (Ella), Dorothy (Nick) Leb, Robert, Roselyn, Lloyd and Florence, and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend.
Father Jeffrey Haines will preside, and burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 3 to 5:15 p.m.
Memorials may be given to St. Frances Cabrini Parish.
Antoinette A. "Nettie" Schulteis
Antoinette A. "Nettie" Schulteis, nee Schneider, 99, of Slinger, formerly of Hubertus, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Virginia Highlands Rehab and Care Center. She had been a resident at Friedenheim of Slinger for over five years.
She was born Aug. 25, 1902, in Menomonee Falls, to the late Anton and Louise (Rose) Schneider, and married Clarence J. "Sep" Schulteis on Nov. 7, 1922, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Menomonee Falls.
After their marriage, the couple lived in the Hubertus area for over 60 years where she helped with their dairy farm.
She loved crocheting and was an avid card player.
Her husband passed away on Jan. 30, 1960.
Survivors include four children, Donald (Doris) of Jackson, Jeannette Kreuser of Hubertus, Joanne (Gerald) Baumgartner of Richfield and Darlene (Richard) Lucka of Suring; a stepdaughter, Dolores (Harold) Stafford of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Dennis; a son-in-law, Marvin Kreuser; and a grandson, Donald M. Schulteis.
She was a member of St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Hubertus and St. Mary's Christian Mothers and the Altar Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at St. Hubert's Catholic Church.
Father Charles Hanel will officiate, and interment will be in St. Hubert's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home, Slinger, will be Tuesday from 3 to 6:30 p.m., with closing of the casket prayers at 6:30 p.m.
