GROVOGEL, Oliver K. "Ollie" 63, Pulaski. Visitation after 10 a.m. today at Friedens Lutheran Church, 405 E. State St., Bonduel. Funeral 11 a.m. today at the church. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; one daughter, Debra Behrendt, Milwaukee; one son, Jeffrey (Sarah) Grovogel, Minnesota; five grandchildren; his parents, Roy and Lettie Grovogel, Sturgeon Bay; one sister, Delores (Earl) Swette, Florida; one brother, Alvin Grovogel, Sturgeon Bay. Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, is assisting the family.

LIEBERGEN, Martin J. "Marty" 82, Howard, died as a result of an auto pedestrian accident on Monday, July 29, 2002, in the Village of Howard. The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation continues after 9 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home until the cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard, with the Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Andrew J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.

A complete obituary will appear in Thursday's newspaper. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Marty's name.

NEWMAN, Clara E. (Mrs. Hilbert) 89, of rural Denmark was born into eternal life on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2002. Clara was born in the Town of Glenmore on May 25, 1913, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Shimon) Hoffman. Clara Hoffman was united in marriage with Hilbert J. Newman on October 5, 1935, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, New Denmark. Mrs. Newman was a lifelong resident of the area and was engaged in farming with her husband for many years. Clara enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, sewing and baking cookies, kolatches and rye bread. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the church Alter Society.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph (Doris) Newman, Maribel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcella (Gerald) Novak, and Mary (Francis) Pietsch, Denmark. She is further survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Deborah Landt, sons Benjamin and Patrick, Michael (Dawn) Novak, daughter April, all of Denmark, and Susan (Jim) Steeno and their children, Alexander, Jacob, and Kaylee, Little Chute. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert, in 1988, one brother, Adolph Hoffman, and two sisters, her twin, Mrs. Alfred (Agnes) Leiterman and Mrs George (Christina) Leiterman.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 1, 2002 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County R, Denmark. Parish prayer service will be 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 2, 2002 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. directly at All Saints Catholic Church, 135 St. Claude St., Denmark, with Monsignor Bob Gulig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

NIESPODZANY, John J. 82, Pulaski. Visitation after 3 p.m. today at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Road, Flintville. Funeral Mass 4 p.m. today at the church. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; three sons, David (Kathleen), Pulaski, Michael (Lisa), Green Bay, Gary (Cathy), Pulaski; one daughter, Jean (Don) Schweitzer, Clintonville; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alex (Leona), Seymour, Tony (Betty), De Pere; two sisters, Ceil Engels, Green Bay, Alvina Rosek, Denmark. Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, is assisting the family.

STEFFENS, Constance "Connie" L. 51, Suamico, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 29, 2002.

The family will receive friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Friday, Aug. 2, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation continues after 9 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home until the cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Howard, with the Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Harold J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Connie's name.

ANDERSON, Margaret Ann (Mollet) Green Bay. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Catholic Church, 3562 Finger Road. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include three children, Robert Anderson, Dori DeCleene, David Anderson; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grand children; one sister, Catherine Krueger. Green Bay.

BUTT, Janice N. (Campbell) , 67, longtime Green Bay resident, died Sunday, July 28, 2002. She was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Manitowoc to the late Joseph and Norma Stuiber. She married Robert Campbell at Annunciation Catholic Church. In July 1987, she married Ronald Butt. She had been employed at Hansen's Pastry and Bakery for many years. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, babysitting and going out to eat with her family and friends. Janice was an organ/tissue donor.

Survivors include nine children and their spouses, Rick and Rose Campbell, Rob and Cindy Campbell, Rhonda and Mark Kabacinski, all of Green Bay, Renee and Pete Engels, Suamico, Randy and Margaret Campbell, Texas, Russ and Shelley Campbell, Rory and Laurie Campbell, Shelly and Jeff Gillis, all of Green Bay, Ryan and Tamra Campbell, De Pere; her grandchildren, Carrie, Kevin, Andrew, Michael, Rachel, Tasha, Jason, Jared, Nicole, Tonia, Tara, Paul, Scott, Adam, Justin, Tiffany, Chuck, Jay, Randy Jr., Marjean, Kyla, Cody, Breanna, Sarah, Danah, Jeffrey, Seanah, Marissa and Hailey; a great-grandson, Riley; her "little sweetheart" Ethan Walton; her stepchildren, Kim and Richard Goddard and their children, Mike and Matt; Linda and Joe Thyrion and their children, Joe, Mindy and Amy; her brothers, sisters and their spouses, Wayne Stuiber, Ron Stuiber, Bob and Tina Stuiber, Doug Stuiber, all of Green Bay; many aunts, uncles, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; her parents, Joe and Norma Stuiber; a granddaughter, Rebecca Campbell; a grandson, Ronald Thyrion; and a sister-in-law, Carol Stuiber.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. The Funeral Service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Kabat officiating.

CHAMPEAU, Urban "Erv" 66, New Franken. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivorrs include his wife, Shirley; one son, Scott (Lisa) Gruselle, New Franken; three grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Champeau, New Franken, Ray Champeau, Illinois; five sisters, Mary Ann Watts, Illinois, Joan (Phillip) Eckels, Kentucky, Theresa Kramer, Arizona, Doris (Frank) Arcuri, New Franken, Charlotte (Kurt) Weber, Luxemburg.

HOBBINS, Walter W., 93, Allouez. Funeral service was Monday. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; one son, William (Mary) Hobbins, Schofield; two grandchildren; one sister, Florence Ryan. Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, assisted the family.

JOHNS, Lowell A., 71, Greenleaf. Visitation 4-8 p.m. today at Nickel Funeral Home, Morrison, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; seven children, Debbie (Doug) Thiele, Omro, Denise (Brian) Tamm, Brillion, Doug (Dawn) Johns, Brillion, Darrell (Mary) Johns, Greenleaf, Doreen (Dan) Vondracek, Greenleaf, Deana Johns, Greenleaf, Darcy (John) Schmit, Denmark; 11 grandchildren.

LUNA, Florencio G. "Larry" 70, of Green Bay, died unexpectedly Sunday July 21, 2002. Larry was born May 17, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Petronilo and Juanita (Guerrero) Deluna. Larry lived most of his life in Wisconsin. He enjoyed cookouts, and taking rides with his little canine companion, Penny.

Survivors include a daughter, Candelaria Luna-Silva; two sons, Oscar Deluna and Gregorio Deluna, all of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, and many other relatives and friends.

His wife, Darlene Luna, and his parents preceded him in death. At Mr. Luna's request no services will be held in Wisconsin. Burial will be in Texas.

He will be very sadly missed by his family and his many friends, including Julie, Karin and Samantha.

Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.

MILLER, Mary R. 98, Green Bay. Visitation after 9 a.m. today at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. at the church. Survivors include one daughter, Helen Kaminski, Green Bay; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren. Malcore Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., is assisting the family.

PATTON, William O. 73, of Montgomery, Ill., passed away at Rush-Copley Medical Center on July 27, 2002. He was born on Feb. 15, 1929, in Green Bay to Norbert and Eva (Bunker) Patton.

Mr. Patton served proudly in the U.S. Navy for 23 years from 1945 until his retirement in 1968. He then worked for the Naperville (Ill.) School District No. 203 (Maplebrook School) for 20 years, retiring in 1994. He served during World War II in the Pacific, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of and tended bar for several clubs on weekends: the VFW in Naperville, the VFW in Aurora, Ill., the Third Ward Club and the Phoenix Club in Aurora for many years. He also was a member of the Montgomery VFW No. 7452 and the Tiger Club. He belonged to the Fox Valley Park District where he enjoyed walking and working out at the Eola complex and developed many friendships. Bill and Betty enjoyed the last nine years in their summer home at Woodhaven Lakes, Sublette, Ill., where he liked to walk and sit by the lake, enjoying the peacefulness.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Betty Lou Patton of Montgomery; his dedicated children, Julie Null of Oswego, Ill., Shari (Scott) Lange of Oswego, Ronald (Anita) Giese of Aurora and Robert (Robin) Giese of Oswego; his grandchildren, Gary, Joseph and Austin Null, Christopher Lange, Jonathan Giese, Nicholas and Maxwell Giese; his mother-in-law, Jennie Melchiori of Aurora; a brother-in-law, Robert (Mary) Melchiori of Aurora; nephews, Michael (Connie) Patton and Kelly Patton, both of Green Bay, Daniel (Susan) Patton of Cecil, Mark (Monica) Melchiori of Aurora, Tony (Yesenia) Melchiori of Aurora and Joseph Melchiori of Oswego. He is also survived by one brother, Patrick (Mary) Patton of Green Bay; two sisters, Mary Lou (Patrick) Landry of Brookfield, and Carol (James) Dobish of Bloomington, Minn. Mr. Patton is also survived by many other nephews and nieces. His devoted dog, Kristy, will miss their daily walks together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cleo Giesler and Laverne Norman; one brother, John Patton, all of Green Bay; and his father-in-law, Peter Melchiori.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 11 a.m. from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, Ill., with Pastor Alex Merlo officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 (today), from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service time at The Healy Chapel, Aurora. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

PELKIN, Kenneth M. Pelkin, 74, Athelstane resident, passed away on July 28, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken left this world surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Hospital. We are all grateful that the Lord gave him the opportunity to spend his final precious days saying good-bye to his family and many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Emily (Kraynik Wesely) and would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on Aug. 6. Ken also is survived by his children, Roger Wesely, Mary Ann and Richard Roberts, all of California, Gerald and Donna Wesely, Green Bay, Sharon Patterson and Mike Cruz, Colorado, Allan and Ellen Pelkin, Kathie and Bob Yunke, all of Green Bay; his mother, Erma Pelkin, Green Bay; one sister, Carol (Roger) Lison, Suamico; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae (Norb) Boetcher, Green Bay; one daughter-in-law, Barb Pelkin, New Franken; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) and after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until the cortege leaves for church. Parish wake service 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Bay Settlement, with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem., officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

TERRIEN, Donald G. "Don" 57, Pulaski. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Road. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Survivors include his wife, Judy; three sons, Chuck Terrien, Green Bay, Mike (Rhonda) Terrien, Suamico, Joe (Cathy) Brzeczkowski, Howard; four daughters, Annette Terrien, South Carolina, Fay (Mike) Miller, Green Bay, Dawn (Ken) Howlett, Little Suamico, Joy (Rob) Gregorich, Howard; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his stepfather, Frank Ausloos.

VAN PAY, Richard C. 75, Green BayGreen Bay, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at his home. He was born May 10, 1927, in Green Bay to the late Leonard and Roma (Gegare) VanPay. Richard served in the US Army for two years. He was employed by Procter and Gamble for over 30 years. His favorite pastimes were watching movies and slow pitch.

He is survived by a half-sister, Elaine Georgia, Green Bay; and half-nephew, Randy Weytens, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Ron; and very special friend, Charlotte Vertz.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue at Ridge Road, where the funeral service will be at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. Burial in Ft. Howard Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Unity Hospice, Charlotte Vertz's family, and Jean Vincent.
