KENDALL, Robert Sr., Kailua, Hawaii. Reunion of friends, 1 p.m. Saturday at Sheri's Place, 1807 N. Irwin Ave. to celebrate Kendall's life. Survivors include his wife, Inga; sons, Robert Jr., California, Jason and daughter-in-law, Sayoko; granddaughters, Kiana, Hawaii, and Jessica, California, Renee (Gary) Everson and sons, Allen, Eric and Kyle, Luxemburg; mother-in-law, Margot von Berlichigen, Green Bay.

PATTON, William O., 73, Montgomery, Ill., passed away at Rush-Copley Medical Center on July 27, 2002. He was born on Feb. 15, 1929, in Green Bay to Norbert and Eva (Bunker) Patton.

Mr. Patton served proudly in the U.S. Navy for 23 years from 1945 until his retirement in 1968. He then worked for the Naperville School District No. 203 (Maplebrook School) for 20 years, retiring in 1994. He served during World War II in the Pacific, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of and tended bar for several clubs on weekends: the VFW in Naperville, the VFW in Aurora, the Third Ward Club and the Phoenix Club in Aurora for man years. He also was a member of the Montgomery VFW No. 7452 and the Tiger Club. He belonged to the Fox Valley Park District where he enjoyed walking and working out at the Eola complex and developed many friendships. Bill and Betty enjoyed the last nine years in their summer home at Woodhaven Lakes, Sublette, Ill., where he liked to walk and sit by the lake, enjoying the peacefulness.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Betty Lou Patton of Montgomery; his dedicated children, Julie Null of Oswego, Shari (Scott) Lange of Oswego, Ronald (Anita) Giese of Aurora and Robert (Robin) Giese of Oswego; his grandchildren, Gary, Joseph and Austin Null, Christopher Lange, Jonathan Giese, Nicholas and Maxwell Giese; his mother-in-law, Jennie Melchiori of Aurora; nephews, Michael (Connie) Patton and Kelly Patton, both of Green Bay, Daniel (Susan) Patton of Cecil, Mark (Monica) Melchiori of Aurora, Tony (Yesenia) Melchiori of Aurora and Joseph Melchiori of Oswego. He is also survived by one brother, Patrick (Mary) Patton of Green Bay; two sisters, Mary Lou (Patrick) Landry of Brookfield, and Carol (James) Dobish of Bloomington, Minn. Mr. Patton is also survived by many other nephews and nieces. His devoted dog, Kristy, will miss their daily walks together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cleo Giesler and Laverne Norman; one brother, John Patton, all of Green Bay; and his father-in-law, Peter Melchiori.

PELKIN, Kenneth M., 74, Athelstane, Athelstane resident, passed away on July 24, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken left this world surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Hospital. We are all grateful that the Lord gave him the opportunity to spend his final precious days saying good-bye to his family and many friends.

Ken was born on Nov. 23, 1927, in Green Bay to Erma (Erdman) Pelkin and the late Milton Pelkin. Ken served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Jan. 15, 1946, until his discharge on July 14, 1947. He married the former Emily Kraynik Wesely on Aug. 6, 1948. Ken was employed at Strid Grain for 26 years and then the Wausaukee Club for 20 years, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his loving wife, Emily (Kraynik Wesely) and would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on Aug. 6. Ken also is survived by his children, Roger Wesely, Mary Ann and Richard Roberts, all of California, Gerald and Donna Wesely, Green Bay, Sharon Patterson and Mike Cruz, Colorado, Allan and Ellen Pelkin, Kathie and Bob Yunke, all of Green Bay; his mother, Erma Pelkin, Green Bay; one sister, Carol (Roger) Lison, Suamico; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae (Norb) Boetcher, Green Bay; one daughter-in-law, Barb Pelkin, New Franken; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Milton; one son, Daniel Pelkin; one sister, Patricia De Beck; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Wesely.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until the cortege leaves for church. Parish wake service 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Bay Settlement, with the Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

Ken was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Dad will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. Thirty years ago he moved to the northwoods to enjoy fishing, hunting and the wonders of the wilderness. Ken was and will always be a one-of-a-kind who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Ken's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospital's ninth floor for all the care and compassion given to Ken and his family.

RIBBENS, John, 68, Green Bay. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Survivors include one brother, Rev. Bill Ribbens O. Praem; four children and 16 grandchildren, his deceased son, John's, daughter, Arica Johnson; Jeanne Ribbens, New Mexico, and her children, Robert, Eric and Johnny; Joseph (Joanne) Ribbens, Green Bay, and their children, Jameson, Jason, Jennifer, Jilenna, Jeannie and Joseph; Jeff (Dawn) Ribbens, Oklahoma, and their children, Jessica, Justin, Jeremy and Joey; Julianne Ashton, Green Bay, and her children, Kelci and Nikolas.

SIECKMAN, Elmer R., 88, of Green Bay, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at a local hospital. He was born May 16, 1914, in Gillett to the late Fred and Luise (Trapp) Sieckman.

On Nov. 20, 1937, Elmer married Bernice Pederson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Maple Valley. He was a former cheese maker at Gillett and Manitowoc, and was later employed by Northern and Gateway transportation companies for 32 years. Elmer retired in 1976. He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Brotherhood, the local Teamsters Union No. 75, and the Green Bay Area Retired Men's Club. Elmer enjoyed his grandchildren, working at his church, gardening, caring for his yard and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Deborah Sieckman of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Erik and Mark Sieckman, both of Green Bay, Lauren Sieckman and Ryan Sieckman, both of Carol Stream, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Eleanora Stoviak, Lena, and Ethel Ankerson, Hickory, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Sieckman in 1989, his parents, one sister, Lorraine Zimmer, and a brother, Walter. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Monday) and at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Nathan Tuff officiating. Burial will be in Maple Valley Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Elmer's name.

GOSSEN, Merlin 75, De Pere, was called home unexpectedly by the Lord Thursday morning, July 25, 2002. He was born Dec. 18, 1926, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late William and Lucy (Van Vonderen) Gossen. He served his country during World War II with the United States Army in active duty in Korea. He married Elaine Carter in 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Glenmore. "Merlie's" passion was being on the "CAT" and doing the best job he could for his customers. He was a man who never retired even after 54 years in the excavating business. Merlin was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and De Pere V.F.W. Post #2113. He was also an avid bowler, enjoyed the outdoors, really loved his garden and was a sports enthusiast with a great love for the Packers.

Merlin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elaine; his children and their spouses, Laura (Gary) Peters, Mark (Cyndi) Gossen, Mary (Mike) Jankowski, Lonnie Gossen, and Rod (Corri) Gossen; grandchildren, Amy (fiancé Don), Barry (fiancée Erica), Chris, Traci, Melissa (Ben), Kristin (Paul), Tina (Justin), Chad (fiancée Kathy), Krista, Ali, Hailey, and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kalli, and Hunter. He is further survived by brother and sisters, Pearl Pansier, Edward Gossen, and Jane (Roland) Runnoe, and by members of Elaine's family, Merle Carter, Doris Pansier, Harold (Rita) Carter, Jo Ann Hennessey, Larry (Edna) Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie, brothers and sisters Harvey, Lloyd, Frank, Eunice, Jean, and by best friend and brother-in-law Herbie Pansier.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, July 28, 2002, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. Parish prayer service will be 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 29, 2002, at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 29, 2002, 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 Michigan St., De Pere, with the Rev. V. Anthony Dolski officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Merlin's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Fourth Floor I.C.U., Sr. Monica, and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for all of their care and concern.
