Lavon B. Hansen

A funeral service was held on Sunday, Oct. 14, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Lavon B. Hansen, who died on Oct. 12, 2001 at the age of 84. Rev. Charles Turbin officiated at the service. Burial was held the next day at Maple Valley Community Cemetery in Suring.
Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg assisted the family.

Mrs. Hansen was born on April 25, 1917, to the late John Surber and the late Stella Weir in Anderson, Ind. She later married Elmer Hansen on Nov. 24, 1938, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Suring.

She was a teacher in the Cedarburg/Grafton area for many years. She was also a member of the OCARTA (Retired Teachers Group) and also the W.E.A. Wisconsin Education Association.

Survivors include: husband Elmer Hansen of Brown Deer; son Gary (Ann) Hanson of Brown Deer; granddaughter Greta Hansen of Menomonee Falls; sisters Nancy (Dan) Desremaux of Oconto Falls, Connie (Bob) Rathsack of Green Bay, Betty (Willard) Hanson of Gillett, and Marilyn Green of Beneta Springs, Fla.; brother Jon (Kathy) Surber of Pulaski.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be made out to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedarburg.

George C. Glasser

Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 15 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, for George C. Glasser of Grafton who died on Oct. 11, 2001, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84. Rev. Dale Erickson officiated at the funeral service. Interment was held at Zur Ruhe Cemetery.
Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton assisted the family.

Mr. Glasser was born on July 3, 1917, to the late Edward Glasser and the late Ida Baatz. He later met his wife singing in the church choir. He was married to the late Virginia (nee Jaeger) on April 23, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg.

He was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and worked for the Grafton Foundry for over 48 years.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia Tumanic of Grafton; granddaughters Teriann (Dan) Skelton of Grafton, Tanya (James) Vey of Oostburg; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Jacob Skelton of Grafton; sister Iona Groth of Grafton; former son-in-law Terrence Tumanic of Port Washington; sisters-in-law Verona Muehleisen of Random Lake, Audrey Erdmann of Cedarburg and Marion Hadler of Minneapolis; brother-in-law Oliver Jaeger of Wisconsin Rapids.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend Virginia (nee Jaeger).

Memorials can be made to Horizon Hospice.

Jean B. Daniels

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church, Cedarburg, for Jean B. Daniels (nee Mack) who died on Oct. 15, 2001 at the age of 72. Burial was in Parish Cemetery.
The Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Daniels was born March 10, 1929 in Hartford, to the late Roy and Caroline (Simon) Mack. She married Don Daniels on Oct. 24, 1951 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Hartford.

She attended St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Cedarburg.

Survivors include husband Don; children Mike (Candie) Daniels of Cedarburg, Tom (Sally) Daniels of Canton, Mich., Mary (Jim) Biever of Port Washington and Tracy (Mike) Swietlik of Cedarburg; grandchildren Joe, Vince, Christie, Laura, Amy, Mike, Nick and Ryan; brother Howard Mack of Clintonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to House of Peace, 1702 W. Walnut, Milwaukee 53205 or charity of donor’s choice are appreciated.

Dean Kleinke
Dean Kleinke, 29, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

He was born on May 19, 1972, in Port Washington, to Jim and Dianne (Hammes) Kleinke, and on Aug. 28, 1999, married Pauline Gatzke at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Dean was a 1990 graduate of Random Lake High School, and served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1990-’94.

At the time of his death, he was employed by Granite Microsystems in Mequon as a production manager.

Survivors include his wife; his parents, Jim and Dianne Kleinke of Kewaskum; two sisters, Angie (David) Mueller of West Bend and Jenny (Dale) Klitzke of Fond du Lac; his maternal grandmother, Laura Hammes of Kewaskum; his paternal grandmother, Marie Kleinke of West Bend; two nephews, Chase and Brett Mueller; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, John Hammes; his paternal grandfather, Wilbur Kleinke; and his parents-in-law, Elroy and Lucille Gatzke.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Rev. Cristy Schoob will officiate, and burial with military graveside rites will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Howard R. Wagner

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 19, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton for Howard R. Wagner, who died on Oct. 17, 2001 at the age of 81. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mueller Funeral Home of Grafton assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Wagner served honorably in the U.S. Navy for two years during World War II, seeing action in the Pacific Theater and the Philippines. He was a member of the Rose-Harms Legion Post #355, and the Grafton Fire Department, retiring as assistant chief after many years of service. A lifelong resident of Grafton, he was considered by many as GraftonÕs unofficial historian.

Survivors include: son Jon Scott (Lynn); grandchildren Lara (Scott) Lipinski, Leah (Sami) Madi, Jeremy (Erin); great-grandchildren Jacob, Hailey, Nicholas and Ashton; brothers Ralph (Millie), Bob (Lorraine) and Martin (Marlene); sisters Eileen Gerner and Fern (Don) Henning.

He was preceded in death by wife Arlyne, son Brian, grandson Bradley, brother-and-sister-in-law Howard and Ardell Van Langen, and brother-in-law Earl Gerner. He will be greatly missed by special family, friends and cousin Audrey Bassett.

He is further survived by many, many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grafton Fire Department appreciated.

Ronald Schauble

Funeral services will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Ronald Schauble of Cedarburg who died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee at the age of 68 years.
Interment will be at Immanuel Cemetery. Instate will be held at the church today from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service.

He was born in Cedarburg on March 30, 1933 to the late Elmer & Lois (nee Woltring) Schauble. He married Jewel Klug on Nov. 24, 1956 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Port Washington. Ron served in the United States Army, was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, and worked at the EST Co. in Grafton for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife Jewel of Cedarburg; one daughter Kay (Donald) Hahn of Cedarburg and two grandsons Justin and Jordon Hahn of Cedarburg.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church 150th Anniversary Fund or your choice appreciated.

Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family.

Wallace H. Klug

Wallace H. Klug, 78, of West Bend, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1923, in the town of Scott in Sheboygan County, to the late Walter and Frances (nee Beier) Klug and married Evelyn K. Gonring on Oct. 9, 1943, in Allenton.

Wally was a third generation dairy farmer for most of his life, and worked at the Gehl Co. for many years.

He was a member of Lodge 1398 Loyal Order of the Moose in West Bend where he enjoyed pitching horseshoes.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Klug of Wauwatosa and Carole Taylor of Strawberry, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Lori Schinker of Surprise, Ariz. and Debra (Mark) Cruz of Phoenix; a great-grandson, Mark Cruz Jr.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a son-in-law, Robert Taylor, and a sister, Gladys Garbisch.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Michael Petersen will officiate, and inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Gertrude C. Emmer

Gertrude C. Emmer, 81, of Campbellsport, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at her home.
She was born in Campbellsport on Jan. 25, 1920, to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Serwe) Bassill, and on May 20, 1944, married Clarence Emmer at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

He passed away on Feb. 15, 1971.

She worked at the Gilbert Shoe Factory in Campbellsport and then at Regal Ware in Kewaskum until retiring.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's Society.

Survivors include two sons, Leo (Bev) of Campbellsport and David (Janet) of Hilbert; three daughters, Sheila (Mike) Weis, Sue Emmer and Mary (Andrew) Floyd, all of Campbellsport; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Norbert (Joan) Bassill of Campbellsport; a sister, Rosie (Joe) Butschlick of Kewaskum; a sister-n-law, Lucille Bassill of Campbellsport; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Sylvester Bassill and a sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Frank May.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport.

Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate, and cremation will follow with inurnment in St. Matthew's Cemetery.

Visitation at the church will be Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to St. Matthew's Church or St. Matthew's School.

The Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family.
