Anthony M. Kudelko
Anthony M. Kudelko, 71, of Kewaskum, formelry of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.

He was born on June 14, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Martin and Antoinette Kudelko, and served his country in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

Survivors include two children, Kenneth (Dawn) Kudelko and Kim (Stanley) Menzynski, both of Kewaskum; two brothers, Stanley (Lillian) Kudelko of Schiller Park, Ill. and Mitchell (Dorothy) Kudelko of Mauldin, S.C.; a sister, Jean Truskalowski of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Lotti Kudelko.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum.

Father Mark Jones will officiate, and cremation will follow.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

Bertha O. Hammer
Bertha O. Hammer (nee Grundahl), 98 of West Bend, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 at Virginia Highlands Health Center.

She was born to the late Thore (Emelia Retrum) Grundahl on Aug. 5, 1903 at the family farm in Daleyville, Wi and on June 22, 1940 married Herbert Hammer at Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville.

The eldest of eight children, Bertha played the church organ and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of West Bend. She attended the University of Whitewater where she received her BA degree. She taught fourth grade in Wisconsin and in Montana. Later she worked in the West Bend Public Library and was a homemaker. She loved playing bridge.

She is survived by three children, Julie (Ron) Allvin of Lemoore, CA, Patricia (Franz) Rediess of Waukesha, WI and Mark (Audrey) Hammer of Lincoln, NE. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, Dr. Alvin (June) Grundahl of West Bend; one sister, Evelyn Olson of Hollandale, Wi and one sister-in-law, Verna Grundahl of Mt. Horeb, WI. She is further survived by numerous friends, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Ben, Jim, Raymond and Kermit, and one sister, Milda Williamson.

Services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend, the Rev. Oscar Kraft officiating, and also on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville, WI with Rev. Robert G. Beckstrand officiating. Internment will tale place at Perry Lutheran Cemetery on Thursday, following the services.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 4 p.m. until the time of the services

Ruth B. Smith
Ruth B. Smith, nee Boehm, 84, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Shawano to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Rafoth) Boehm.

While living in Shawano, Ruth was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. W.W. Mitten, DDS.

In 1971 she moved to West Bend and was employed as a product inspector at Serigraph until her retirement in 1984.

Ruth was a member of the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend.

Survivors include her loving and faithful sister, Betty Koehler of West Bend; two nephews, Michael (Janice)) Koehler of West Bend and Robert (Christine) Koehler of Longmont, Colo.; a great-niece, Dawn Koehler of Longmont; two great-nephews, Christopher (Tammy) koehler of West Bend and Robert Koehler Jr. of Longmont; a great-great-niece, Sydney Marie Koehler of West Bend; a great-great-nephew, Cody Gerard Taylor of Longmont; a daughter, Patricia Hanson of North Dakota; four grandchildren, Sarah, Peter, Paula and Susan; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Audrey Laehn; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Koehler and Edward Laehn; and a nephew, James Koehler.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

Rev. Verlin Wandrey of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend, will officiate, and burial will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 6 p.m. until the time of services.

Ellsworth J. Lammers

A funeral Mass was held on Friday, Oct. 26, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg for Ellsworth J. Lammers "Fritz The Barber" of Cedarburg, who died on Oct. 23, 2001 at Lasata Care Center at the age of 80. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
Mr. Lammers was born Jan. 12, 1921 in Waldo, the son of the late Jesse and Mary (nee Rauwerdink) Lammers.

He owned and operated his own barbershop in downtown Cedarburg for more than 40 years.

Survivors include: children John Lammers, Mary (Russ Prochnow) Lammers, Jane Buchholz, Mark (Brenda) Lammers, Lynn (Don) Galyardt; brother Lloyd Lammers.

He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lasata Care Center appreciated.

Ruben R. Pfeifer

Ruben R. Pfeifer, 71, of Hartford, formerly of St. Lawrence, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001., at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee.
He was born April 1, 1930, in the town of Addison to the late Nicholas and Evelyn (nee Mueller) Pfeifer, and married Ramona Beistle on March 7, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church, Allenton.

Ruben was a member of St. Lawrence Church and was a member of the St. Lawrence Fire Department for over 50 years.

He retired from St. Lawrence Equipment after 37 years, was a milk hauler for 11 years and worked part time after retiring for Zuern's in Allenton.

He loved fixing all types of small engines.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nancy Pfeifer of Waukesha and Mary (Joseph) Plavec of West Bend; a son, Daniel (Violet) of Adell; three granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Plavec and Heather Pfeifer; a brother, Tony of Hartford; a sister-in-law, Katie Pfeifer of St. Lawrence; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, James and Wilbert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church.

Father Alois Van Beek will officiate, and interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.

Elizabeth J. Wenhold

Elizabeth J. Wenhold, nee Schaefer, 95, of West Bend, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born on June 16, 1906, in Denver, Colo., to the late Frederic and Catherine (nee Boldt) Schaefer, and moved to Wauwatosa with her family at a young age.

After high school she attended Miss Brown's Business School in Milwaukee.

She was employed in the accounting office at the former Gridley Dairy in Wauwatosa and later at Woolworth's in Milwaukee until retiring 1964.

Betty was united in marriage to August Wenhold on June 16, 1928, at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.

They purchased land on Silver Lake in 1933 where they had a summer cottage until moving there permanently in 1957. In 1976 the couple moved into West Bend.

August passed away in 1989.

She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and St. John's Ladies Aid, and was also a former member of the Harmony Women's Singing Group.

Survivors include two daughters, June (Eugene) Fay of Boltonville and Betty (Howard) Hingiss of Hales Corners; three grandchildren, Mark (Cheryl) Hingiss, Kathy (Mark) Kesner and Kevin (special friend Jennifer Monday) Hingiss; four great-grandchildren, Michael Hingiss, Lindy Hingiss, Samuel Kesner and Kris Kesner; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Ben and Fred, and a great-granddaughter, Ann Hingiss.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Rev. George Mumm will officiate, and burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to St. John's Ladies Aid Candle Fund are appreciated.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend, is assisting the family.

"By the grace of God, through faith, Elizabeth is now in heaven with her savior, Jesus Christ."
