James F. Brisky

A memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1619 W. Washington St., Grafton, for James F. Brisky of Mequon, who died recently at the age of 74. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Brisky is survived by his wife, Elaine (nee Flanagan) Brisky, children John (Kathleen) Brisky, Robert (Sharon) Brisky, Erick (Jill) Brisky and Elizabeth Brisky.

He was also the grandfather of seven.

The Church and Chapel Funeral Service of Milwaukee is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Erna E. Burmeister

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Erna E. Burmeister, who died on Nov. 28, 2001 at the age of 92. Rev. Dale Erickson officiated at the funeral service.
The Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg assisted the family.

Mrs. Burmeister was born on March 5, 1909, to the late August Maronde and the late Sophia Kopplein of Cedarburg. She later married Edward Burmeister on Nov. 19, 1928 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

She was very active at Immanuel Lutheran Church as a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also very involved in the Cedarburg community as a volunteer for city hall as well as writing articles for the Lasata newsletters. She enjoyed weaving rugs, knitting and embroidery.

Survivors include sons: Ken (Shirley) Burmeister of Cedarburg and Edward Burmeister of Cedarburg; grandchildren Mark Burmeister of Waukesha, Eric Burmeister of Grafton and Kimberly Burmeister of Grafton; sister-in-law Esther Maronde of Cedarburg; daughter-in-law Lynn Burmeister of Grafton.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Rosalie C. Zurawski

Rosalie C. Zurawski (nee Mueller), 63, of Racine died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was born in Racine on Feb. 19, 1938, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (nee Horn) Mueller and was a lifelong resident. She was united in marriage to Casimir S. Zurawski on July 20, 1957, and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.

Through the Compass Corporation Rosalie was employed in the cafeteria at Modine Manufacturing for 25 years. She also worked in St. Mary’s Hospital cafeteria.

Above all, Rosalie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years; her six children Barbara Zurawski of Rockford Ill., Edward (Nicky) Zurawski of St. Francis, Robert (Peggy) Zurawski of Racine, Laura (Mark) Weller of Nashville, Tenn., Maria (John) Sutton of Mansfield, Ark. and James Zurawski of Racine; 11 grandchildren, Stacey, Alex, Elizabeth, Jacob, Jillian, Hannah, Molly, Ian, Erica, Josiah, and Garrett; five sisters, Monica (Russ) Schmeckel of Paris, Wis., Karla (Lawrence) Uhlenhake of Kenosha, Rita (James) Mason of Racine, Paula (Wayne) Thomas of Kenosha and Cecelia (Bruce) Koellner of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank (Ann) Zurawski, Angeline Selear, Helen Gemmel, Jan Carretta, Don (Lee) Zurawski, and Walter (Beverly) Zurawski; her special friends from Club; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her infant son.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, Racine, on Monday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jack Shirley officiating. Interment followed at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.

Relatives and friends met with the family at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, Racine, on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Bradley M. "Brad" Biegler

Bradley M. "Brad" Biegler, 75, from the town of Farmington, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital .
He was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Milwaukee to the late Henry (Meta Krahn) Biegler, and married Audrey J. Boettcher on April 19, 1952, in Milwaukee.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, he attended Boys Tech and was a graduate of the class of 1944.

After serving with the United States Navy during World War II, he attended Marquette University, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

He was employed as a sales engineer, selling industrial automation equipment for more than 40 years, retiring in 1993.

Brad was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church of Batavia where he was very active in the choir.

He was also a member of the Triangle Fraternity, the I.S.A. and past member of the University of Wisconsin Washington County Moraine Chorus.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Jodie (Ken) Chapman of the town Farmington, Lynn (Clay) Gloege of Burlington, Todd (Deb) Biegler of Marion, Iowa, Kirk (Marta) Biegler of Minneapolis and Tracy (Amy) Biegler of Peshtigo; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Howard) Miller of Charlotte, N.C., and Janet Pickup of Waukesha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother-in-law, Jack Pickup.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend with Rev. Jody Arpke-Lone of Zion United Methodist Church of Batavia officiating.

Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

Memorials to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association of America are appreciated.

Lois R. Kutz
Lois R. Kutz, nee Martin, 65, of West Bend, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at her residence.

She was born Jan. 10, 1936, in the town of Wayne to the late Edward and Martha (nee Jung) Martin, and married Elroy Kutz on Nov. 6, 1954, at First Baptist Church, Campbellsport.

For over 27 years Lois had been a paper route carrier for both the West Bend News and the Milwaukee Journal.

She especially enjoyed her family, cooking, playing sheeps-head and the accordion, and listening to polka music.

Survivors include Elroy Kutz of Campbellsport; four children, Cindy (John) Turk, Steven Kutz and Karen (Patrick) Holtz, all of West Bend, and Larry (Mary) Kutz of Eden; eight grandchildren, Jeannine, Kenneth, Jason, Shawn, Ryan and Eric Turk, and Paytan and Parker Holtz; two sisters, Marion (Robert) Dieringer of St. Anthony and Ethel Martin of West Bend; two brothers, Leroy Martin of West Bend and Winston (Gerri) Martin of Kewaskum; a half-brother, Norman Martin of Kewaskum; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Martin of Kewaskum; along with her two special dogs, Skipper and Sparky; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Lyle Martin and a half-brother, Wallace Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 5:45 p.m. at Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, West Bend.

Rev. Bruce Dunford of First Baptist Church, West Bend, will officiate, and burial will be Thursday at 11:45 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Lester W. "Pike" Wallace
Lester W. "Pike" Wallace, 88, of the town of Herman, formerly of Rib Lake, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Hartford Care Center.

He was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Rib Lake, to the late Guy and Flossie (nee Page) Wallace, and married Vera Irma Krueger on Sept. 30, 1935, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Parsonage in Rib Lake.

They lived in Rib Lake until moving to Milwaukee in 1942.

Lester retired from A.O. Smith, Milwaukee, in 1976 where he had worked for over 33 years as a tool and die maker.

In 1976 Lester and Vera moved to the Hartford area.

He was a lifetime member of International Association of Machinist Union and Aerospace Workers, and held a membership in the International Union for 50 consecutive years.

After retiring Lester repaired watches and clocks. He also enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Donald (Linda) of Merrill, William (Peg) of Oak Creek, Terry (Chris) of Sheboygan Falls, Danni (JoAnn) of West Bend, JoAnn (Ronald) Adkins of Hartford; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a sister and two brothers.

Visitation at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, will be Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at the Dallman-Kniewel Funeral Home, Rib Lake.

Rev. Roger Sloan will officiate, and interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Beulah F. "Bullets" Worner
Beulah F. "Bullets" Worner, nee Kraft, 86, of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001.

She was the beloved wife of the late Hugo C. Wolnik and William Worner; dear mother of Harold (Jane) Wolnik of Annapolis, Md. and Carol Hughes of Sussex; cherished grandmother of Debbie (John) Kocovinos, Kelly Hughes, Scott Hughes; great-grandmother of Katie, Kelly and Johnny Kocovinos; loving sister of Dolores Cooper of Las Vegas, Nev., Lucille Pflughoeft of Glen Flora and Audrey Schroeder of West Bend. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was a faithful employee of Briggs and Stratton of Milwaukee for over 30 years, retiring in 1985, and was a volunteer and member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Salvation Army.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, with Rev. Quentin Meracle officiating. Inurnment will follow.

Memorials to the Salvation Army or charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, is serving the family.
