Genevieve I. Hoekstra
Genevieve I. Hoekstra, 77, a resident of the Beaver Dam Care Center, Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the center.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home. The Rev. Rich Bawinkel will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens, in the town of Trenton.

Mrs. Hoekstra was born on Sept. 4, 1923, in Waupun, the daughter of Herman and Myrel (Zastro) Hull. She was married to Kenneth Hoekstra, on Sept. 25, 1942, in Waupun.

The couple lived in Waupun all their life. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun.

Survivors include three sons, Robert (Jackie) Hoekstra, Kenneth (Mimi) Hoekstra, and Michael (Susan) Hoekstra, all of Waupun; two daughters, Sandy (Stanley) Schiereck, Beaver Dam, and Ginny (William) Shallow, Lena; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Volkman Westhuis, Marie (Harvey) Henning, and Helen (Julien) Graham, all of Waupun; four brothers, Edwin (Alene) Hull, Harland Hull, Myron (Sylvia) Hull, and Lawrence Hull, all of Waupun.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1984; and two brothers.

Friends may call on Monday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Ruth Huber
Ruth Huber, 81, of 623 Pine Tree Lane, Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Huber was born on Oct. 18, 1918, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Edward and Carla (Schultz) Adelmeyer. She was married on April 27, 1935, to George J. "Sonny" Huber in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Huber was a resident of Beaver Dam her entire life. She was a volunteer at the Beaver Dam Hospital gift shop, Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross blood drive. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Christian Mothers. She and her husband owned and operated the Beaver Cigar and Candy Company for 47 years, now known as Beaver Vending.

Survivors include one daughter, Arlene (Les) Kaul, Hartford; one grandson, Dan (Jodi) Kaul, West Allis; one granddaughter, Sher (Don) Lattin, Brookfield; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Lattin, and Andre and Alex Kaul; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George J. "Sonny" Huber, on Sept 11, 1997.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Evelyn Tiedt
COLUMBUS - Evelyn Tiedt, 75, of 3300 Oxbow Road, Columbus, died on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 1:30 p.m., at Hillside cemetery, Columbus. The Rev. Robert Moberg will officiate.

Mrs. Tiedt was born on March 11, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of Axel and Helen (Fridlind) Madsen. She was married in 1958, to Arthur Tiedt in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mrs. Tiedt was employed at Weyco Group Inc., Beaver Dam, for many years before retirement and was a life long Columbus area resident.

Survivors include one son, Rodger (Kathy) Keating, Columbus; one daughter, Kimberly Schleicher, Columbus; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Doris Slager, Arizona, Mildred Karasinski, Columbus, Alice Gilbertson, Chicago, Violet Habeck, Park Falls, Eunice (Donald) Weihert, Waterloo, Betty Nehmer, Shoreview, Minn., and Jeanette (Robert) Gay, Clintonville; two brothers, Ray (Lorraine) Madsen and Delwood (Linda) Madsen, both of Columbus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to the ER at Columbus Community Hospital.

Van A. Miller
ROCKFORD, ILL. - Van Allen Miller, 36, of Rockford, Ill, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 10:30 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Road, Rockford, Ill. The Rev. Emery A. Percell will officiate.

Mr. Miller was born on May 5, 1964, in Freeport, the son of Larry L. and Michelle M. "Micky" (Wahler) Miller.

Mr. Miller was a 1982 graduate of Gilford High School, where he was active in football and basketball. He was a PGA professional, head and assistant pro at various golf clubs and assistant pro at Rock River Hills Golf Club, Horicon. He taught golf in Florida, Chicago and the Rockford area. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Rockford, Ill.

Survivors include his parents, Larry L. and Micky Miller, Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Mandy (Steve) Bontjes, Byron; maternal grandparents, Richard and Doris Wahler, Freeport; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Margaret Miller.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Fred C. Olson Chapels Ltd., North Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., Rockford, Ill., and on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, Rockford, Ill.

Randy T. Gardner
EAU CLAIRE - Randy T. Gardner, 30, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mondovi. The Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will officiate. Burial will be in Naples cemetery, Mondovi.

Mr. Gardner was born on June 28, 1970, in Milwaukee, the son of Bill and Jean (Zagres) Gardner. He was married on Nov. 23, 1996, to Kathleen Lynch in Eau Claire.

Mr. Gardner was a 1988 graduate of Memorial High School. He graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in MIS and was active in the Society of Information Management. He was employed as a business analyst at SGI, Chippewa Falls. He was very active in local sports and was a Pop Warner football coach. He was also an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Gardner; one son, Gage William Gardner; parents, Bill and Jean Gardner, Durand, originally of Beaver Dam; one brother, James (Jodi) Gardner, Chippewa Falls; four nieces, Shaunna, Erin, Brittney and Jacinda; one nephew, Mitchell; mother-in-law, Joan Lynch, La Crosse; father-in-law, Paul Lynch, La Crosse; five brothers-in-law, Joe, Tim John, Mike, and Pete; three sisters-in-law, Betsy, Peg, and Mary; aunts, uncles cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mondovi.

Jerome P. Bath
Jerome P. Bath, 89, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Bath was born on Sept. 17, 1910, in Mayville, the son of Philip and Mary (Schwartz) Bath. He was married on May 8, 1937, to Helen Krakowski at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Bath lived in Beaver Dam since 1933. He worked as a welder at the Monarch Range Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, and of the Monarch Riff Raff Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Bath, Beaver Dam; one brother, Richard (Teresa) Bath, Tucson Ariz.; one sister, Marianne Kobs, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Erna Bath, Mayville; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert and Andrew, and one in infancy; and one brother-in-law, Lyle Kobs.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Carl A. Buss
OCONOMOWOC - Carl A. Buss, 62, of Oconomowoc, died on Sunday, Sept 10, 2000, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc. The Rev. David Rothe will officiate. Burial will be in La Belle cemetery.

Mr. Buss was born on Aug. 18, 1938, in Watertown, the son of Harold and Bernice (Frey) Buss. He was married on Aug. 24, 1963, to Mary Schraven in Winneconne.

Mr. Buss was a business insurance agent for Wisconsin Insurance Management. He was a member of the Oconomowoc Lions Club, Watertown County Club, the Paganica Golf Course, and St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Buss, Oconomowoc; his children, Laurie (Rob) Keefe, Medford, Pam (Larry) Rapsard, Akron, Ohio, and Carrie Buss (Steven Rhoads), Oconomowoc; one sister, Carole (Russel) Wegner, Waukesha; one brother, Dale (Debbie) Buss, Franklin; six grandchildren, Katie, Samantha, John and Connor Keefe, and Elizabeth and Kevin Rapsard; his mother, Bernice Buss, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Buss; mother-in-law, Florence Schraven; and father-in-law, George Schraven.

Nancy J. Schave
WAUPUN - Nancy J. Schave, 49, of Waupun, died unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

As per Nancy's wishes no funeral or visitation will be held.

Mrs. Schave was born on June 10, 1951, in Berlin, the daughter of Wilson E. and Marcella (Hoh) Abendroth. She was married on June 10, 1972, to Thomas Schave in Green Lake.

Mrs. Schave was a Waupun resident since 1975. She was formerly employed with Dodge Correctional until she retired in 1992. She was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake. She had a great love for her cats and her dog.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Schave, Waupun; three sisters, Linda (Ronald) Ziesmer, Green Lake, Mary Jo (Per) Lander, Pecatonica, Ill., and Margery (David) Raube, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Schave; and her parents.

Gertrude M. Sharpe
WAUPUN - Gertrude M. Sharpe, 81, of the Christian Home in Waupun, died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at the home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Moran will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Waupun.

Mrs. Sharpe was born on Oct. 25, 1918, in the town of LeRoy, the daughter of John and Selma (Reible) Brodzeller. She was married on May 18, 1941, to Arden W. Sharpe.

Mrs. Sharpe was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun, its Daughters of Isabella, and the Altar Society. She was an avid reader and loved to knit. She lived in Madison for 14 years where she retired in 1981 from St. Mary's Medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (fiancee, John Riedl) Chiapusio, Duluth, Minn.; three grandsons, Daniel (Darlene) Sharpe, Mequon, 1st Lt. Dominic Chiapusio, Dyess AFB, Texas, and Michael (Allison) Sharpe, Lake City, Mich.; one brother, Leo (Mary) Brodzeller, Madison; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Sharpe, Milwaukee; two great-grandsons; six nieces; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden; and one son, James.
