Alex O. Kuehl
Alex O. Kuehl, 91, of Beaver Dam Terrace, formerly of rural Beaver Dam and Sarasota, Fla., died on Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.

Mr. Kuehl was born on May 6, 1909, in the township of Trenton, the son of Emil and Mary (Stange) Kuehl. He was married in 1933, to Margaret Mace. He was married in 1972, to Murle Abel.

Mr. Kuehl was a lifetime farmer in the townships of Trenton and Beaver Dam. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, being active in the church council and on the school board. He was also on the town board of Beaver Dam and the Dodge County Fair board, was chairman of the Farm/City Get-together in 1948, and active in the Dodge County Farm Bureau and the Wisconsin and National Holstein Organization.

Survivors include one son, Raymond (Dee) Kuehl, Waunakee; three daughters, Helen (Paul) Levorson, Oakfield, and Gertrude (Lawrence) Grebel, and Arletta (Ralph) Trejo, both of Beaver Dam; one brother, Lawrence (Helen) Kuehl, Madison; two sisters, Luella Drahmel and Margaret Ganz, both of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; his second wife, Murle; and one sister, Dorothy Behle.

Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Friday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church Memorial Trust Fund, or to the 125th Anniversary Fund of the church.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Dorothy A. Gossfeld
BURNETT - Dorothy A. Gossfeld, 86, of N9891 Highway I, Burnett, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Floyd E. Gogolin will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Gossfeld was born on July 5, 1914, in the township of Chester, the daughter of Fred and Alvina (Kapelle) Kuenzi. She was married on July 4, 1931, to Lester G. Gossfeld in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Gossfeld was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, North Burnett, and a member of the Ladies Aid at the church.

Survivors include one son, Roger (Rushara) Gossfeld, Waupun; two granddaughters; one grand-daughter-in-law; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Frederick (Sylvia) Kuenzi, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Evelyn Heim, Lowell, and Gertrude Kolitz, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, in 1995; one grandson, Gary Gossfeld, in 1982; one great-grandson, Matthew King, in May of 2000; and two brothers.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Jean M. Anderson
OCONOMOWOC - Jean M. Anderson, 73, of Oconomowoc, died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m., at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 211 S. Main, Oconomowoc. The Rev. John Yockey will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Anderson was born on Sept. 3, 1927, the daughter of Edward and Louise (Edwards) Derwin. She was married to Roger Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson was employed at Lorleberg's Hardware, Oconomowoc. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Oconomowoc.

Survivors include seven children, James Anderson, Jacksonville, Fla., David (Karen) Anderson, Stephen Anderson, and Sharon (Ron) Ward, all of Atlanta, Ga., Thomas (Debbie) Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Catherine (Scott) Justmann, Winter Haven, Fla., and Karen (Trent) Thom, Hustisford; six grandchildren, Laura, Chantel, Sarah, Courtney, Christine and Ivan; one brother, Thomas (Norma) Derwin, Upland, Calif.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, and one sister, Patricia Potvin.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc. There will be a Remembrance service at 11:30 a.m.

Virginia M. Horn
PORTAGE - Virginia M. Horn, 74, of Portage, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Divine Savior Nursing Home, Portage.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. Donald J. Wiecki will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Rio.

Ms. Horn was born on Oct. 26, 1926, in Port Washington, the daughter of George B. and Agnes (Paulie) Horn.

Ms. Horn lived most of her life in the Madison area. She worked for 28 years at Central Colony as a nurses aide and for many years as a waitress at the Edgewater Hotel.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Ronald) Hudzinski, Rio; one sister, Muriel Frank, Fond du Lac; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.

Raymond G. Frisch
Raymond G. Frisch, 88, a resident of Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at the manor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Frisch was born on Dec. 8, 1911, in Beaver Dam, the son of Frank and Celia (Abraham) Frisch. He was married on Jan. 23, 1940, to Ruth Bleamer in Beaver Dam.

Mr. Frisch was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended Marquette University. He worked at Thorp Finance Company for many years, then worked as an insurance agent for Mutual Service Insurance Companies, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree, where he served as a past Grand Knight.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Kay (Jim) Fullerton, LaCrosse; one son, Tom (Sue) Frisch, Stoughton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Fehling, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; two brothers, Arnold and Arthur; and two sisters, Blanche and Mathilda.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m.until the time of service, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Aileen Black
The funeral service for Aileen Black was postponed today. It is rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m., at the Annunciation Catholic Church, Fox Lake.

Lawrence Froemming
MAYVILLE - Lawrence "Ike" Froemming, 78, of 1439 Dayton St., Mayville, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Burial will be in Kekoskee cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 69.

Mr. Froemming was born on Sept. 19, 1922, in Mayville, the son of Emil and Ella (Giese) Froemming. He was married on June 25, 1949, to Florence "Flo" Gust in Mayville.

Mr. Froemming was a 1942 graduate of Mayville High School. He and his wife Flo managed the Mayville Golf Club for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 69, and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Florence "Flo" Froemming, Mayville; one son, Dennis (Gail) Froemming, Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Cynthia Scallon, Mayville; one sister, Ruth (Paul) Kress, Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Emil Froemming, Oshkosh; four grandchildren, AnnMarie and Ben Froemming, and Nick and Tony Scallon; one great-grandchild, Mallory Scallon; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Darrell W. Brechlin
WAUPUN - Darrell W. Brechlin, 59, of 909 Visser Avenue, Waupun, died on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Kevin Scheuller will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mr. Brechlin was born on April 22, 1941, in Brandon, the son of Frederick and Louise (Wagner) Brechlin. He was married on July 14, 1990, to Sharon Radke in Brandon.

Mr. Brechlin was a lifelong resident of the Waupun and Brandon areas. He was a 1959 graduate of Brandon High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Mercury Marine for many years before retiring. He then devoted his spare time to the Super Wash in Waupun. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Brandon.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Brechlin, Waupun; one step-son, Michael Dolgner, Waupun; two daughters, Kim (Dennis) Sabel, North Fond du Lac, and Kristine (Mike) Schoening, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren; one sister, Fern (Lynn) Tavs, Waupun; one sister-in-law, Karlen (Erv) Pinnow, Waupun; one brother-in-law, Terry (Marla) Radke, Stevens Point; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, David Brechlin.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

June L. Whitford
HARTFORD - June L'Mae Whitford, 91, of 111 Lone Oak Lane, Hartford, formerly of Mayville, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Hartford Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Christal Bindrich will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Whitford was born on Oct. 15, 1909, in Gladstone, Mich., the daughter of Ambrose and Grace (Moore) Woodhall. She was marred on June 10, 1933, to Ronald S. Whitford in Rockford, Ill.

Mrs. Whitford was a graduate of Gladstone, Mich., High School and a graduate of Milwaukee State Teachers College. She taught in the Mayville School District for 26 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Mayville United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir, a charter member of Mayville Eastern Star, past worthy matron, and a Mayville Girl Scout leader.

Survivors include her children, David Whitford Madison, Barbara Gruber, Hartford, Kenneth (Beth) Whitford, Westerville, Ohio, Ann Louise (Dan Williams) Whitford, Enumclaw, Wash., and Beth Wettstein, Hartford; one brother-in-law, Norman (Jean) Whitford, Pine River; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Whitford, Milton, and Helen Whitford, Madison; one special niece, Nancy (Francis) Peterson, Gladstone, Mich.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald, in 1980; two sisters; and one brother.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Elena V. Qualmann
MARSHALL - Elena V. Qualmann, 72, of 436 Sunset Court, Marshall, died on Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Marshall. The Rev. David Plocher will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Browns Corner.

Mrs. Qualmann was born on Sept. 26, 1928, in the town of Trenton, the daughter of James and Ida (Wendling) Walters. She was married on Sept. 4, 1948, to Helmuth Qualmann in the town of Trenton.

Mrs. Qualmann was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School and the Fond du Lac Business College. She was employed at Madison Soil Conservation Service before retiring in 1986. Following her retirement, she became the secretary/accountant for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Marshall. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Marshall, and a member of St. Paul Lydian Society. She also worked with St. Paul Sunday school and was the church organist for 35 years.

Survivors include her husband, Helmuth Qualmann, Marshall; her children, Gene (Susan) Qualmann, Sun Prairie, Kathleen Albrecht, and Wayne (Crystal) Qualmann, both of Madison, and Robert (Toni) Qualmann, Marshall; two sisters, Rosemary Baerwald, Iron Ridge, and Ethel (Steve) Fanning, Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, James (Geneva) Walters, Deerfield, Ill., and Richard (Joanne) Walters, Ridgecrest, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Adelheid Levenhagen, Horicon, and Alvira Daniels, Mayville; one brother-in-law, Norbert Qualmann, Mayville; 11 grandchildren, Laurence (Tammy) Albrecht, Amy (Mark Kurtzhals) Qualmann, Carrie (Eric) Pettey, Jeremy Qualmann, Justin (Amy Knapton) Qualmann, Shonda (John Steffes) Qualmann, Holly (Randy) Wilund, Nathan Schmolze, David Schmolze, Gilbert Schmolze and Chris Landness; three great-grandchildren, Natalie and Nathan Schmolze and Dakota Albrecht; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Laura Mae; one sister, Rosalyn Sorenson; and one brother, Lester Baerwald.
