Irene L. King
Irene L. Kreier King, 78, of 201 Easy St., Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. John Breitwisch will officiate. Burial will be in Burnett Central cemetery, Burnett.

Mrs. King was born on April 22, 1922, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of William and Adela (Seering) Gietzel. She was married on Dec. 20, 1944, to Robert Kreier. She was married on Nov. 2, 1996, to Vilas King.

Mrs. King was employed at J.C. Penneys Co. in the 1940s before moving to the town of Hampton in 1952. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, a member of the Altar Society and Peace Circle at the church. She made her home in the Beaver Dam area all her life except for the 16 years that she and her first husband, Robert, farmed in the township of Hampton, Columbia County.

Survivors include her husband, Vilas King, Beaver Dam; one son, James W. (Susan) Kreier, Amery; one grandson, Jason (Pamella) Kreier, Clear Lake; one granddaughter, Rae Ann Kreier, Amery; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Robert Kreier, on Aug. 13, 1989.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church Beaver Dam.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

David L. Hollnagel
David L. Hollnagel, 35, of 722 Grove St., Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, while hunting in Dexterville.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Mr. Hollnagel was born on June 2, 1965, in Beaver Dam, the son of Donald and Arlyne (Bolstad) Hollnagel.

Mr. Hollnagel was a lifelong resident of Beaver Dam, and a 1983 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He attended Devry Institute of Electronics in Arizona, and owned and operated Infintech Copy Service Co. in Beaver Dam. He was a board member of the Beaver Dam Conservationists Club, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of the Beaver Dam Men's Bowling Association.

Survivors include his loving partner, Rebecca Rowan, and her son, Tristan, Beaver Dam; his mother, Arlyne Hollnagel, Beaver Dam; three sisters, Diane (Tom) Rosenmeier, Horicon, Renee (Dennis) Bremer, Stoughton, and Sandra (Jack) Saunders, Beaver Dam; one brother, Carlton (Theresa) Hollnagel, Waunakee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald, in 1994; and aunts and uncles.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the family of David Hollnagel.

Bonalyn D. Firari
COLUMBUS - Bonalyn D. Firari, 77, of 518 Fuller St., Columbus, died on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.

Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. G.F. Cares will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery.

Mrs. Firari was born on July 19, 1923, in Portage, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Fleming) Baird. She was married on Aug. 28, 1948, to LaVerne "Ernie" Firari in Portage.

Mrs. Firari was employed at the Wilshire Shop in Columbus for many years. She was a member of the Dot Dash Homemakers Club for nearly 50 years, a member of the American Legion, a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus, and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include four sons, William (Brigitte) Firari, and Jon Firari, both of Madison, Thomas Firari and Douglas Firari, both of Columbus; three sisters, Peg (Jim) McDonald, Monona, Janet (Jim) Huebner, Portage, and Nancy (Bertram) Kupsinel, Madison; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, "Ernie", in 1996; one sister, Elaine Smith; and two brothers, John Baird and James Baird.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.

Henry J. Wiersma
RANDOLPH - Henry J. Wiersma, 84, of Randolph, died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m., at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph. The Rev. James Admiral will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery.

Mr. Wiersma was born on Nov. 16, 1916, in Chicago, the son of John and Nellie (Van Swol) Wiersma. He was married on Aug. 2, 1938, to Adrianna Zwart in Lakewood, Calif.

Mr. Wiersma moved to the Friesland area when he was a young man. When he turned 18, he moved to California where he was engaged in the dairy industry. This is where he met and married Adrianna. In 1950, he and his wife moved back to the Cambria area where they farmed until he retired in 1971. He was a member of the Second Christian Church, Randolph, where he served as an elder of the church for several years and taught catechism. He also served on the town of Courtland board for 10 years. Most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Adrianna Wiersma, Randolph; one son, Sam Wiersma, Waupun,; three daughters, Elaine (Harold) Dykstra, Lomira; Norene (Gordon) Dahm, Livingston, Texas, and Donna (Glenn) Smits, Randolph; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sam (Jeanette) Wiersma, and Lester (Eileen) Wiersma, both of Randolph, and Gerrit Wiersma, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Ann (Bill) Burdette, and Gen (Al) Pawlick, both of Chicago; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter, Rhonda Dykstra, in 1976.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Randolph Community Funeral Home and on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Second Reformed Christian Church, Randolph.

Memorials may be made to the Randolph Christian School.

Gordon L. Schultz Sr.
PRINCETON - Gordon Lee Schultz Sr., 52, of Princeton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Green Lake. Brother Lee Washington will officiate.

Mr. Schultz was born on Jan. 28, 1948, in Columbus, the son of Gerhardt and Elizabeth (Meier) Schultz. He was married on June 20, 1970, to Cheryle A. Lange in Beaver Dam.

Mr. Schultz was a maintenance worker for the city of Beaver Dam and a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed horses, birds, wildlife, hunting, fishing and was a George Strait fan. He especially loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryle Schultz, Princeton; six children, Jeremie (Naomi) Schultz, Aaron (Rebbecca) Schultz, and Brian (Jamie) Schultz, all of Beaver Dam, Gordon (Deborahe) Schultz Jr., Middleton, and Bethany and Robert Schultz, both of Princeton; eight grandchildren; his mother, Elizabeth Schultz, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Betty (Frank) Donabauer, and Bonnie (Paul) Parsley; seven brothers, Earl (Violet) Schultz, Howard (Mary) Schultz, Eugene (Shirley) Schultz, Randy (Mikey) Schultz, Dan Schultz, Steve Schultz, and John Schultz; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerhardt, and two brothers, Dale and Richard.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, Princeton. The family and friends will then go in procession to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Green Lake.

Dorothy A. Griebenow
Dorothy A. Griebenow, 81, of 142 Charlton St., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at The Pines Assisted Living, Prairie du Sac.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at noon, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.

Mrs. Griebenow was born on May 18, 1919, in Lowell, the daughter of Richard and Minnie (Schumann) Schwandt. She was married on Sept, 8, 1943, to Arthur W. Griebenow at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Griebenow had a series of hospital stays last winter and after a summer of recuperation in her Beaver Dam home, moved closer to her daughter, Marilyn in mid-October. At the Pines, she enjoyed her own little apartment and furnishings.

Mrs. Griebenow kept busy with various activities offered at the Pines, amidst the excellent care. Over the past months she enjoyed her grandchildren's concerts, family dinners and a few road trips.

Mrs. Griebenow will be remembered for her caring heart, her gift of mercy, and her loyal marriage of 54 years to Arthur. She was a faithful bookkeeper for many years of Griebenow General Contracting. She will also be remembered for her love of gardening and the many flowers she tended. But most of all, mom was a "stay-at-home mom" available for all the needs of raising two children, Bob and Marilyn.

Mrs. Griebenow's home in heaven was made sure by her personal belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her spiritual growth was nurtured by her involvement in ladies aid and mission groups in various Lutheran Churches. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Richard) McFarlane, Sauk City; one son, Robert (Marla) Griebenow, Edgewood, Wash.; one sister, Inez (William) Hemling, Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Hilda Schwandt, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur in 1998; two brothers, Howard and Richard; one sister-in-law, Bernice Schutte; and one brother-in-law, Ervin Schutte.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.

Immanuel W. Lenius
WATERTOWN - Immanuel W. "Sonny" Lenius, 73, of 1116 S. Third St., Watertown, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, following a stroke.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Dec., 15, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Mathew Dollhausen will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery, Watertown. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Richwood VFW Post No. 7852.

Mr. Lenius was born on Oct. 9, 1927, in the town of Shields, the son of Arnold Sr. and Sophia (Krueger) Lenius. He was married on July 19, 1952, to Caroline R. Borchardt at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Mr. Lenius and his wife owned and operated Lenius Trenching of Watertown. He had previously been employed at Michels Pipe Line of Brownsville and Mueller Pipeline of New Berlin. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown, and the Richwood VFW Post No. 7852.

A jolly, friendly man, well known in the area with many friends. He will be sadly missed by a family that always came first in his heart.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline Lenius, Watertown; five daughters, Kathleen (James) Dittmann, Beaver Dam, Nancy Lenius, Watertown, Shari (Scott) Krueger, Johnson Creek, Heidi (Timothy) Graf, and Nichole Lenius, both of Watertown; one brother, Arnold Lenius Jr., Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Rachel Lenius, Waterloo, and Regina King, Watertown; eight grandchildren Benjamin Dittmann, Erik Dittmann, Emma Dittmann, Nathan Graf, Nicholas Graf, Kalvin Krueger, Abigail Krueger and Dustin Lenius Schmidt; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Philip Lenius.

Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, and on Friday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Memorials may be made to the accessibility fund of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Bessie M. Witte
COLUMBUS - Bessie M. Witte, 84, a resident of The Columbus Center, died on Thursday, Dec 14, 2000, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m., at the Columbus United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hobbins will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mrs. Witte was born on Feb. 14, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of James and Emily Volek. She was married on June 18, 1944, to Arthur Witte in Columbus.

Mrs. Witte attended Columbia County Normal Teachers College in Columbus, then taught in a country grade school for six years. She was later a foreman at the Columbus Canning Company and for Stokely's in Columbus for many years. She was a member of the Columbus United Methodist Church, its Harmony Circle, where she served as chairperson, and taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include two brothers, Edward (Gladys) Volek, Columbus, and Robert (Betty) Volek, Belle Plaine, Minn.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, in 1985; and one brother, James Volek.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Columbus United Methodist Church.

The Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.

Irene O. Rait
SUN PRAIRIE - Irene O. (Moy) Rait, 87, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at noon, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Bristol. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Rait was born on Dec. 16, 1912. She was married to Fred Moy. She was later married to George Rait.

Mrs. Rait and her first husband, Fred, farmed in the Waterloo area for 27 years. She lived in Sun Prairie for the past 30 years, where she had a great interest in the Colonial Club.

Survivors include her children, Elaine (Dave) Pearson, Janet (Richard) Ott, Alice (Henry) Schuster, Ralph Moy, Norbert (Cynthia) Moy, and Sharon (Robert) Kohn; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy (Leo) Tennie, Ruth Hanson, Helen Schowerer, and Gladys (Loren) Olson; two brothers, Sylvester (Stella) Weisensel, and Joseph (Teresa) Weisensel; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Moy and George Rait; an infant son, Wilbur; two brothers, LeRoy and Verian; and two sisters, Myrtle and Cecile.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Bristol.

The Winn Funeral Home, Waunakee, is serving the family.
