Carl E. White
HORICON- Carl E. White, 74, of 211 E. Washington St. Horicon, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m., at Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon. The Rev. Samuel Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Juneau city cemetery.

Mr. White was born on March 20, 1926, the son of Elmer and Janet (Hansen) Leetch. He was married in 1946, to Geraldine Morris in New Auburn.

Mr. White was a resident of the Dodge County area most of his life. He worked at John Deere Horicon Works for over 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine White, Horicon; three sons, George White and Darrell White, both of Horicon, and Robert White, West Bend; one daughter, Janet White, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-brother, James Leetch, Horicon; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carol Persinger; one son, David White; and one sister, Catherine Harr.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon.

C. Eleanor Reedy
CASS LAKE, MINN. - C. Eleanor "Honey" Reedy, 89, of Cass Lake, Minn., died on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji, Minn.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Gene Lyttle officiated. Burial was in Pine Grove cemetery, Cass Lake.

Mrs. Reedy was born on March 18, 1911, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Adelbert and Margaret Wake. She was married in 1936, to Howard Reedy.

Mrs. Reedy grew up and attended school in Beaver Dam. After her schooling, she worked as a secretary in Milwaukee. Following her marriage, she and her husband made their home near Minneapolis. In 1946, they moved to Steamboat Lake, where they owned and operated Reedy's Resort and the North Star Filling Station in Cass Lake. In 1970 they sold the resort and moved to Cass Lake. In recent years they spent their summers on Steamboat Lake.

Mrs. Reedy was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake. She was also a member of St. Mary's Altar Society, a Gray Lady volunteer at Ah-gwah-ching for many years, and a member of the Reading Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret "Peg" Olding, and Claudette (Terence) Holly, both of Cass Lake, and Diane (Larry) Bolls, Walnut, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nephews; one niece; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; two sisters, Blanche Lane and Sally Morgan; and one son-in-law, Robert Olding.

Lucie B. Haider
Lucie B. Haider, 92, a resident of Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at the manor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Haider was born on July 11, 1908, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of John V. and Regina (Weix) Roller. She was married to Carl W. Haider on July 6, 1935, in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Haider was a lifelong resident of Beaver Dam. She was a 1926 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended Whitewater State School. She taught for nine years at the country school in Dodge County. She worked at the Daily Citizen for 15 years, as its society editor. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Society.

Survivors include her children, Helen (John) Keil, Beaver Dam, Mary Jo (Harvey) Austin, Waupun, and John (Margaret) Haider, Beaver Dam; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Gilsinger, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1953; three brothers, Roman, Arnold, and Baldwin Roller; one son-in-law, David Kuenzi; and one step-great-grandson, Jack Keil.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Unified Catholic Parish Schools (U.C.P.S.), Beaver Dam, or to Clothes 4 Kids.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Melvin H. Otto
JUNEAU - Melvin H. Otto, 83, of W5173 Highway S, Juneau, died on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec.19, at 2 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Revs. Thomas Biedenbender and Douglas Westenberg will officiate. Burial will be in Juneau City cemetery.

Mr. Otto was born on Dec. 17, 1916, in the town of Oak Grove, the son of Richard and Bertha (Griep) Otto. He was married on Nov. 16, 1947, to Helen Kienast at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Grove.

Mr. Otto enjoyed farming on his town of Oak Grove farm. He was confirmed on March 29, 1931, at St. John's Ev. Church, Juneau, and continued his membership to that church throughout his life. He was also a member of AAL Branch 115.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly J. (Martin) Weinheimer, Juneau; one granddaughter, Lorie (Nathan) Couperus, Lowell; one grandson, Keith Weinheimer, Juneau; one great-grandson, Hunter Couperus, Lowell; one nephew, Robert Otto, Juneau; one sister-in-law, Marcella Gerbitz, Juneau; one brother-in-law, Wilbert Kienast, Burnett; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen, on March 11, 1993; two brothers, Amos and Leonard; and two sisters, Alice Prenzlow and Evelyn Schumacher.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau, and on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from noon until the time of service, at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church anniversary fund.

Margaret Sponholz
Margaret "Marge" Sponholz, 74, of Beaver Dam, died on Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at her home.

A Memorial Mass was held on Friday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., at Annunciation Parish, Fox Lake. The Rev. Michael Wild officiated. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

Mrs. Sponholz was born on Jan. 9, 1926, in Fox Lake, the daughter of Henry Michael and Elizabeth Mary (Saxe) Ring. She was married on July 21, 1945, to Norman Sponholz at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fox Lake.

Mrs. Sponholz was a graduate of Fox Lake High School. She was employed as an Alcoholics Anonymous counselor for Dodge County for 15 years. She was a member of the Fox Lake Golf Club and the Annunciation Parish Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Meagher, and Mrs. Angie "Dicky" (Clifford) King, both of Randolph; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen (George) Steils, Beaver Dam, and Kathleen Ring, Fox Lake; her almost sister-like friend, Boots (Marvin) Klawitter, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and golfing buddies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman, in 1995; one brother, Henry "Bud" Ring, in 1993; one sister, Lucille Esch, in 1995; and one brother-in-law, Joe Meagher, in 1995.

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, served the family.

Vernon J. Kowald
CAMBRIA - Vernon John Kowald, 86, of Cambria, died on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at the Continental Manor, Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Cambria. The Rev. Roger Wahl will officiate. Burial will be in the Cambria cemetery.

Mr. Kowald was born on July 6, 1914, on the family farm, in the town of Scott, Columbia County, the son of Willie and Ida (Yonke) Kowald. He was married on Dec. 19, 1936, to Margaret Stegner in Rockford, Ill.

Mr. Kowald received his education through the Pardeeville and Cambria school districts. He farmed in the rural Cambria area until moving to the village of Cambria in 1966, and worked as a foreman at Friday Canning Company (Chiquita Foods) in Cambria until his retirement in 1976. Following his retirement, he enjoyed raising pheasants and the many lawn mowing jobs that he took on during the summer months. He was an avid trap shooter at the Cambria Conservation Club, and pool shooter, participating in the Sunday Afternoon Pool League. He also liked to go fishing and hunting. He was a past member of the Cambria Kiwanis Club and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Cambria. He will be sadly missed and mourned by friends and family.

Survivors include one son, Orin (Jill) Kowald, Cambria; one daughter, Darlene Rennhach, San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Brian, Kaillee, Gale, Dennis and Shawn; four great-grandchildren, Candy, Mindy Andy and Charles; one brother, Ray Kowald, Montello; one sister, Bertha Froehlich, Friesland; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret, on Oct. 26, 1986; one brother, Albert Kowald; and one son-in-law, Dennis Rennhack, in 1993.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, and on Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Cambria.

Roman F. Gundrum
HARTFORD - Roman F. Gundrum, 84, of Hartford, died on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Hartford Memorial Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford. Burial will be in St. Kilian cemetery, Hartford.

Mr. Gundrum was born on March 9, 1916, in Nenno, the son of Paul and Elizabeth (Becker) Gundrum. He was married on July 4, 1953, to Mary Trapp at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Gundrum lived in Nenno most of his early years. He worked on the family farm until 1945. He worked at Chrysler in Hartford for 34 years, retiring in 1979. He was an avid bowler, and loved gardening and working outdoors. He was a very special neighbor and friend to all.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Gundrum, Hartford; one son, Rick (Lois) Gundrum, Slinger; two step-grandchildren, Toby (Amy) Brandenstein, Mapleton, and Mindy (Pat) Mayo, DePere; two step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Ian; one brother, Edmund Gundrum, Nenno; one sister, Mildred (Paul) Leichtle, Theresa; two sisters-in-law, Luella Trapp, Beaver Dam, and Katrina Trapp, Englewood, Colo.; one brother-in-law, Harry Schweder, Hartford; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and his wife, Wilfred (Gertrude) Gundrum; five sisters and their spouses, Hildagard (Richard) Bodden, Isabelle (Oscar) Schaefer, Margaret (Ben) Jacklin, Irene (Al) Kienast and Marie Schweder.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Memorials may be made to St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford, or the charity of one's choice.

Erhard A. Giese
THERESA - Erhard A. Giese, 72, of 212 Theresa Lane, Theresa, died on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec.19, at 1 p.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa. The Rev. Robert Noldan will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Theresa.

Mr. Giese was born on Jan. 31, 1928, in Theresa, the son of Richard and Amanda (Kluge) Giese. He was married in 1950 to Pearl Sellnow in Theresa. He was married on May 3, 1980, to Gladys Martin in West Bend.

Mr. Giese was a retired Theresa farmer, later employed at Mayville Metal, retiring from there in 1993. He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Giese, Theresa; his children, Gary (Sue) Giese, and Lois (Ron) Puls, both of Theresa; three step-daughters, Caroline Schwartz, West Bend, and Christine Westphal and Cindy (Joe) Fecther, both of Newburg; one sister, Gertrude (Ray) Schied, Campbellsport; one brother, Almond (Marline) Giese, Theresa; two grandchildren, Carrie Puls and Trisha Puls; 15 step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearl; six brothers, Clarence, Alex, Herbert, Harvey, Palmer and Rufus; and one sister, Eleanor.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from noon until the time of service, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa.

Memorials may be made to the Zion building fund or Hospice Hope.

Jeddie M. Moser
MERRILL - Jeddie Mae Moser, 73, of 1404 River St., Merrill, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

The funeral was held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m., at the Taylor-Mann-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Allen Worlin officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Moser was born on June 17, 1927, in South Boston, Va., the daughter of Jessie William and Mary (Davis) Harris. She was married on Dec. 25, 1943, to Clarence Moser in South Boston, Va.

Mrs. Moser and her family moved to the Merrill area in 1945. She was employed at the Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Merrill and was a homemaker. She attended worship services at the Hillside Fellowship of the Assemblies of God Church Merrill.

Survivors include one daughter, Joan (Ronald) Waterworth, Randolph; two sons, James (Janice) Moser, Merrill, and Joseph Moser, Palmetto, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Goode, Maryland, Hazel Znoy, St. Helen, Ore., and Eva Strickland, Winter Garden, Fla.; two brothers, Jessie Harris, South Boston, Va., and Melvin Harris, Maysville, N.C.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .

Friends called on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 1 p.m. until the time of service, at the Taylor-Mann-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.

Myra Hook
WAUPUN - Myra Hook, 80, a resident of the Christian Living Center, Waupun, died on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at the home.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, at 4 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Ms. Hook was born on Sept. 16, 1920, in Waupun, the daughter of Dick and Evelyn (Harmsen) Hook.

Ms. Hook was a graduate of Waupun High School and received her teaching accreditation through the State of Wisconsin University System. She began her teaching career in a one room school house in the town of Alto in Fond du Lac County. Upon the opening of Jefferson School in Waupun, she taught there for the remainder of her teaching career. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

Survivors include cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18, from 3 p.m. until the time of service, at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.
