Ira R. Hafenstein
Ira R. Hafenstein, 53, of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m., at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate.

Mr. Hafenstein was born on March 31, 1947, in Beaver Dam, the son of Howard and Irmgard (Kemnitz) Hafenstein.

Mr. Hafenstein was a 1965 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed as a chef for many years. He had a great love for life and music. He was always able to help others in need, including helping his favorite bands, Vic Ferrari and Road Trip, with his nephew Rich. He made many friends and will truly be missed.

Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn Loeck, Beaver Dam, and Iris (Gary) Kehrmeyer, Waupun; two nephews, Richard Loeck and Christopher (Jill) Kehrmeyer; two nieces, Sue (Dave) Longfield, and Jessica (fiance, Matt Dumke) Kehrmeyer; two great-nieces, Teresa (Jamie) Wolff and Amanda Longfield; two great-nephews, Dusty Longfield and Scott Kehrmeyer; one great-great-nephew, Cole Wolff; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law, Carlton Loeck.

Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 22, at the time of service, at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Lorraine M. Stanke
MAYVILLE - Lorraine M. Stanke, 87, of 1118 Horicon St., Mayville, died on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Edward Blonski will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Stanke was born on Nov. 13, 1913, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Neider) Finke. She was married on June 28, 1936, to Ernest Stanke in Mayville.

Mrs. Stanke was employed at Ben Franklin in Mayville for many years. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Wilmer) Hundertmark, Mayville; one son, William (Susan) Stanke, Mayville; two brothers, William (Sid) Finke, Mayville, and Donald (Virginia) Stanke, West Bend; one grandson, Warren (DeeDee) Stanke, Theresa; one step-granddaughter, Julie Fabisch, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest, in 1962; and one infant brother.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Theresa Warrack
DALTON - Theresa Warrack, 87, of Dalton, died on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage.

A Mass of the Resurrection service was held on Monday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello. The Revs. Francis Schmidt and Rick Heilman officiated. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Church cemetery, Montello.

Mrs. Warrack was born on Dec. 1, 1913, in Buffalo, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Joffer) Marx. She was married on Nov. 27, 1934, to James Warrack, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Buffalo.

Mrs. Warrack was a resident of Buffalo all her life. She was employed at both the Handi-Craft Co., Markesan, and Montello Products Company. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello.

Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Willegal, Dalton; one grandson, Michael Willegal, Dalton; one brother, Matthew (Dorothy) Marx, Waunakee; one sister, Marcella (Cletus) Schroeder, Menomonee Falls; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Marx, Texas, Margaret Marx, Madison, and Catherine Marx, Waukesha; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, on Aug. 23, 1996; one son-in-law, Bernard Willegal; three brothers, John, Joe and Werner Marx; and two sisters, Caroline Schinkel and Anna Skaret.

Friends called on Sunday, Jan. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Steinhaus Funeral Home, Montello, and on Monday, Jan 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Montello.

Russell D. Severson
COLUMBUS - Russell D. Severson, 63, of 751 N. Main St., Columbus, died on Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. Robert V. Moberg will officiate.

Mr. Severson was born on Aug. 17, 1937, on the family farm in the town of Otsego, the son of Lorin and Pearl (Bankert) Severson. He was married on June 7, 1959, to Margaret Caldwell.

Mr. Severson graduated from Columbus High School and UW-Platteville. He and his wife raised their family in Columbus. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Severson, Columbus; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Mark) Challe, De Pere; one son, David (Cynthia Ott) Severson, Rio; his father, Lorin Severson, Rio; one grandson, Christopher Challe; two granddaughters, Emma and Riley Severson; mother-in-law, Valborg Caldwell, Madison; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl; two brothers, Ronald and John; father-in-law, J. Gordon Caldwell; one brother-in-law, John W. Caldwell; and one niece, Mary Taft.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 5 p.m. until the time of service, at Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus.

Gerald D. Fadness
STEVENS POINT - Gerald D. Fadness, 71, of 1450 Water St., Stevens Point, died on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., at the Jensen and Jinsky Funeral Home, Plover. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m., at Forest Home cemetery, Milwaukee.

Mr. Fadness was born on Nov. 23, 1929, in Minneapolis, the son of George Belcourt and Opal Fadness. He was married on Dec. 16, 1950, to Marilyn E. Johnson.

Mr. Fadness was a 1947 graduate of Bay View High School. He served in the U.S. Army 24th infantry division in Korea and Japan. He was a long time employee of Coca Cola Bottling Co. He owned Mug N Jug, Beaver Dam, later, he held property manager positions including Beaver Dam; Mall. He was an avid amateur radio operator, W9GF. He was a Boy Scout of America executive, serving Southeastern Wisconsin. He was a member of the Minnesota Chippewa tribe.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy (Brian) Mallon, Plover; two sons, Jay (Virginia) Fadness, Beaver Dam, and Jerry W. (Sue) Fadness, Plover; two brothers, Warren (Judy) Kelpine, Milwaukee, and Theodore Belcourt, Washington; four sisters, Sharon (Rich) Trapp, Florida, Valorie (Mike) Poznanski, Noreen Pinto, Florida, and Olivia Kriha, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn, in 1978; brothers and sisters; and other relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Jensen and Jinsky Funeral Home, Plover.

Edgar T. Stone Sr.
LOWELL - Edgar T. Stone Sr., 64, of 205 W. Dodge St., Lowell, died on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A service in celebration of Edgar's life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Reeseville. The Rev. Donald Steinberg will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.

Mr. Stone was born on April 27, 1936, in Marion, Ky., the son of Ollie and Orvelette (Bebout) Stone. He was married on Sept. 30, 1953, to Joan Rennhack in Shawneetown, Ill.

Mr. Stone lived in Chicago, working at the Union Stock Yard, and was a captain for Burns Security until 1973. After moving to the Lowell-Reeseville area, he worked at the Green Giant Co., for 23 years, then at the Hughes Co. in Columbus. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Reeseville. He loved to camp, fish, hunt and travel. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and was a man who, due to his love of people, never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Rennhack Stone, Lowell; his children, Debra (Bobby) Traywick, Belleville, Ill., Denise (Garret) Barnes, Lebanon, Ill., Diana (Dennis Biel) Manegold, Beaver Dam, Edgar Jr. (Tamara) Stone, Cheyenne, Wyo., Dale (Cheryl) Stone, Beaver Dam, James (Kelly) Stone, Waterloo, and Tonja Stone, Belleville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lala Redd, and Loma (Rev. A.C.) Hodge, both of Marion, Ky.; one brother, Howard Stone, Marion, Ky.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Rugena Easly.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville, and on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Reeseville.

Marvin A. Lukasavitz
JUNEAU - Marvin A. Lukasavitz, 50, a resident of Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau, formerly of the town of Elba, died on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Clearview.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, town of Elba. The Rev. John L. Simon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lukasavitz was born on July 15, 1950, in Beaver Dam, the son of Bernard and Ada (Longfeldt) Lukasavitz.

Mr. Lukasavitz was a 1969 graduate of Columbus High School. He was employed as a welder at Production Enterprises, Marshall, operated a drag line for many years and was employed at Temkin Iron and Metal Co., Columbus. He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two brothers, Harold "Butch" Lukasavitz, Columbus, and John (Jan) Lukasavitz, Middleton; two sisters, Virginia "Jeannie" (Pat) Hoffman, Belleville, and Pat (Rich) Kleindl, Madison; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 9:30 a.m. until the closing service at 10:45 a.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home,Columbus.

Memorials may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.

Irene A. Hiller
WYOCENA/RIO - Irene A. Hiller, 80, formerly of Rio, died on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m., at the Union Congregational Church, Rio. The Revs. Wm. Thomas Howie and C. Keith Epps will officiate. Burial will be in the Ohio cemetery, Rio.

Mrs. Hiller was born on Feb. 8, 1920, in Rio, the daughter of Carl and Arlene (Nelson) Bernander.

Survivors include one son, Alton (Jane) Hiller, Baker, Fla.; one sister, Doris Arnold, Wyocena; two brothers, Robert (Bea) Bernander, Rio, and Al (Delores) Bernander, Portage; six grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hiller, on July 4, 1987.

Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Union Congregation Church, Rio.

The Vangen Funeral Home, Rio, is serving the family.

Edward F. Helmer
FOX LAKE - Edward Frank Helmer, 78, formerly of Cambria, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake. The Rev. Paul Hudson will officiate. Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., in the Cambria cemetery.

Mr. Helmer was born on Nov. 8, 1922, the son of Frank and Ella (Froehlich) Helmer.

Mr. Helmer was a 1935 graduate of Friesland High School. He was employed with Larson/Dean (DelMonte Foods) Canning Factory, Cambria, retiring in 1987. Following his retirement, he was engaged in farming and enjoyed caring for his horses.

Survivors include his children, Dusty (Sandy) Helmer, Cambria, and Christine Helmer, Madison; one sister, Ruth (Douglas) Martin, Randolph; three brothers, Orrie (Mabel) Helmer, Beaver Dam, Alvin (Ina Mae) Helmer, Fox Lake, and Delwin (Elizabeth) Helmer, Cambria; two grandchildren, Jack and Katie Helmer, Cambria; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, in infancy.

Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 28, from noon until the time of service, at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Friesland.

Donavon R. Vick
OTSEGO - Donavon R. Vick, 54, of Otsego township, died on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 3:30 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. James Bolda will officiate. Burial will be in Otsego cemetery.

Mr. Vick was born on Oct. 6, 1946, in Poynette, the son of Richard J. Sr., and Addie (Stange) Vick.

Mr. Vick farmed in the Otsego area and worked at Penda Corp., Portage, as a finisher.

Survivors include one son, Carl Vick, Wisconsin Dells; five brothers, Wallace (Shirley) Vick, Fall River, Loren Vick, Watertown, Norman (Shirley) Vick Sr., and Donald Vick, both of Columbus, and Arden Vick, Pardeeville; one sister, Marilyn (Marvin) Winter, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard J. Vick Sr., on Oct. 17, 1972; his mother, Addie Vick, on Dec. 31, 2000; two brothers, Richard Vick Jr., and Warren Vick; one sister, Joanne Weisinger; and one sister-in-law, Florence Vick.

Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.
