Bernard F. Prock
Bernard F. Prock, 74, of 209 Webster St., Apt. 52, Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at VA Woods Hospital, Milwaukee.

The funeral will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the VA cemetery, Spooner.

Mr. Prock was born on Nov. 29, 1926, in Rice Lake, the son of Frank and Francis Prock. He was married on March 10, 1959, to June Griffiths in Minnesota.

Mr. Prock worked at the Monarch Range Company for 27 years, then at Oshkosh Truck. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy, during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, June Prock, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Robin Brown, California; one step-daughter, Chris Moran, Horicon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Cleo (Ken) Chartier, Rice Lake; one brother, James (Gloria) Prock, Rice Lake; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.

Marion D. Abler
Marion D. Abler, 87, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Abler was born on Oct. 27, 1913, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of William and Mabel (Reider) Veling. She was married in 1957 to Arnold Abler in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Abler worked at Bear Brand Hosiery for many years, then at Monarch Range Company. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, the Christian Women and the Altar Society.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Eleanor Veling, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, on Feb. 16, 1996; two brothers, Emil and Anthony; and two sisters, Amanda Polzin and Verdella Abler.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 1, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Douglas E. Maas
OAK GROVE - Douglas E. Maas, 68, of N5194 Highway A, Oak Grove, died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, at 2 p.m., at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Grove. The Rev. Roger Grosnick will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

Mr. Maas was born on Dec. 26, 1932, in Beaver Dam, the son of Elmer E. and Gertrude (Zimmerman) Maas.

Mr. Maas graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was employed as a radio dispatcher for the Dodge County Sheriffs Department as a sergeant for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Grove, serving as treasurer of the church.

Survivors include one daughter, Judi (Bret) Ostberg, Duluth, Minn.; one brother, Larry (Mary) Maas, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Nick and Amber Ostberg; two nieces, Kari and Deborah; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one niece.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Grove.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oak Grove.

David E. Belongie
OSHKOSH - David E. Belongie, 47, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly with his family at his side, on Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 435 High Ave., Oshkosh. The Rev. John Becker will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Belongie was born on Sept. 1, 1953, in Escanaba, Mich., the son of Cyril Eugene and Anna Kathryn (Strazzinski) Belongie.

Mr. Belongie graduated from Lourdes Academy and attended St. Peter's Catholic Church. He owned and operated the former Holistic Referral Services on Washington Ave., Oshkosh. He was a magician, actor, and enjoyed music and computer technology along with being a Star Trek devotee. He was lovingly cared for by his parents and family for the last 18 years.

Survivors include his mother, Anne Belongie, Oshkosh; three brothers, Philip (Patricia) Belongie, Oshkosh, Raymond (Kathy) Belongie, Florida, and Michael (Jane) Belongie, Beaver Dam; three sisters, Yvonne (James) Osborn, Neenah, Marie (Jeff) Belongie-Kemp, Oshkosh, and Annette (Jeremy) Lys, Berkeley, Calif.; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oshkosh.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in David's name.

Mary L. Kraft
MADISON - Mary L. Kraft, 73, of 5555 Tancho Drive, Madison, formerly of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Hospice Care Inc., Madison.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Eileen Kuehnl will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Kraft was born on Jan. 12, 1928, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Charles G. and Bernice C. (Madisette) Walters. She was married on Dec. 26, 1948, to William C. Kraft in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Mrs. Kraft was a 1948 graduate of Iowa State University. She was employed as a dietician at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital for many years. She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her husband, William Kraft, Madison; one daughter, Ann L. (Mark) Knaup, West Bend; two sons, Craig A. (Tammy) Kraft, Washington, D.C., and Robert C. (Joan) Kraft, Madison; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Dorothea Kraft; father-in-law, Aldo Kraft; one grandson, Ryan; and one brother, William Walters.

Friends may call on Friday, March 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Trinity Church United Methodist , Beaver Dam.

Elizabeth L. Csiacsek
Elizabeth L. "Betty" Csiacsek, 70, of 110 Fischer Ave., Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Bill Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Csiacsek was born on July 24, 1930, in Horicon, the daughter of Webster and Genevieve (Decker) Kuhaupt. She was married on June 23, 1956, to John Csiacsek at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Horicon.

Mrs. Csiacsek was a graduate of Horicon High School. She was an LPN at several locations. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Christian Mothers, and taught C.C.D. for many years. Most recently she was active in Partners in Learning in the Beaver Dam School District.

Survivors include her husband, John Csiacsek, Beaver Dam; four children, Tom (Debbie) Csiacsek, Beaver Dam, Anne Manske, San Antonio, Texas, Barbara (Randy) Lueptow, Manitowoc, and Julie Csiacsek, Marinette; one brother, David (Betty) Kuhaupt, Juneau; eight grandchildren, Amber Manske, Jackie Cottello, Kristen Schleicher, Lindsay, Kelsey, Joshua and Jacob Lueptow, and Sarah Csiacsek; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Gordon Kuhaupt.

Friends may call on Friday, March 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. There will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, March 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, and to the American Cancer Society.

Elda L. Matthews
JUNEAU - Elda L. Matthews, 79, of W6598 Hillcrest Drive, Juneau, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in Juneau City cemetery.

Mrs. Matthews was born on March 24, 1921, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Alex and Amanda (Mente) Borchert. She was married on May 9, 1944, to Donald R. Matthews at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Oak Grove.

Mrs. Matthews was a 1940 graduate of Juneau High School. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau, was active in the Ladies Aid, choir, and Altar Committee. Her life joys included being with family and friends, praising her Lord in song, writing poetry and creative artworks.

Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Matthews, Juneau; four daughters, Melody (Gerald) Brigowatz, Carol Stream, Ill., Valerie (the Rev. Kenneth) Loehrke, Waupun, Joyce (Dennis) Schmidt, Juneau, and Jennifer (Vincet) Tomlinson, Torreon, Mexico; one brother, Hugo (Marcia) Borchert, Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Duff, John Brigowatz, Todd (Ann) Loehrke, Claudia Loehrke, Nate Shepp, Ben Shepp, Katie Tomlinson, and Michael Tomlinson; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Ruth Fadness and Mildred Kupec.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 3, from noon until the time of service, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or School, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Russell J. Deglow
JUNEAU - Russell J. Deglow, 52, of 610 E. Oak Grove, Juneau, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Juneau.

Mr. Deglow was born on Jan. 31, 1949, in Beaver Dam, the son of Ralph and Myrtle (Heintz) Deglow. He was married on Nov. 29, 1975, to Susan Jahnke at St. John's Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Mr. Deglow was a graduate of St. Stephen's Lutheran Elementary School, Beaver Dam, and a 1967 graduate of the Beaver Dam High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army with his twin brother, Roland, and served in Vietnam. He was a past member of the Juneau Jaycees, Juneau Fire Department and was on the EMS in Juneau for over 13 years. He coached girls softball in the recreation league for eight years. He was an avid bowler. He worked at Clearview for over 10 years, then at Green Giant for over five years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served on its finance committee.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Deglow, Juneau; four children, Michelle (Jeff) Diggs, Tennessee, Carrie (Brad) Mercer, North Carolina, and Ryan and Bob, both at home; four grandchildren, Ryan, Madison and Brittany Diggs, and Kaylee Mercer; mother, Myrtle Deglow, Beaver Dam; one brother, Roger (Karen) Deglow, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Joyce Chavelier, Beaver Dam, and Mary M. Deglow, Greenfield; mother-in-law, Nancy Jahnke, Juneau; sister-in-law, Mary L. Deglow, Juneau; two brothers-in-law, Daniel (Jane) Jahnke, Juneau, and Steve Jahnke, Appleton; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, in 1982; twin brother, Roland, in 1991; infant brother, Ralph Jr.; and father-in-law, Edward Jahnke, in 1993.

Friends may call on Friday, March 2, from 4 p.m. until the time of service, at St. John's Lutheran Church Juneau.

Roland A. Pieper
Roland A. Pieper, 91, of 130 Charlton St., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.

Mr. Pieper was born on Oct. 5, 1909, in the town of Trenton, the son of William and Lydia (Uecker) Pieper. He was married on Oct. 12, 1935, to Edna Witt in the town of Trenton.

Mr. Pieper worked for the Dodge County Highway Department, then was employed as a foreman at Monarch Range Co. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, where he served as an usher and on the church council.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Pieper, Beaver Dam; two brothers, Elmer (Cecil) Pieper, Arizona, and Harvey Pieper, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Olivia.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church organ fund.

Kathryn A. Kurutz
MAYVILLE - Kathryn Ann "Katy" Kurutz, 67, of 212 Wisconsin St., Mayville, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001. She was at home, surrounded by loved ones, when it was her time to go. Despite a brief, tough battle with cancer, Kathryn was very brave, fought her fight and never complained She left an indelible mark on the lives of those who loved her; lives which will never be the same.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Kurutz was born on Oct. 7, 1933, in Milwaukee. She was married on Oct. 4, 1952, to Paul Kurutz.

Mrs. Kurutz and her husband had five wonderful children, and a noisy, loving household. As if that didn't keep her busy enough, she found time to do many, many things.

Mrs. Kurutz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. She was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary for 47 years, and a member of the Mayville American Legion Choir for 20 years. She loved to travel, loved Door County and loved her computer. She was a talented artist (though she would never say that about herself) and blessed us all with many beautiful heirlooms. She was adept at many, many different creative ventures, such as sewing, quilting, weaving, crocheting, needlepoint and knitting, as well as being the official family photographer. She made everything so special. The family wishes to express many thanks to Laurie Kiesow for the special care she gave to Katy. We are eternally grateful.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Kurutz, Mayville; five children, Paul (Julie) Kurutz, Sherwood, Ellyn (Dan) Wrucke, Horicon, Janet (Bill) Tighe, and Michael (Lori) Kurutz, both of Mayville, and Anthony (Vivian) Kurutz, New York, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren (number 11 is on the way); nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The most important part of "Katy's" life was her family. Her greatest gifts to all of us were strength, love of family and zest for life. These gifts we will treasure forever, and we thank her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Ruth, in 2000.

Friends may call on Friday, March 2, from 4 p.m. until the time of service, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's school fund, Mayville Children's Theater, or the U.W. Comprehensive Cancer Center.
