Elmer C. Heisig
COLUMBUS - Elmer C. Heisig, 84, of N2224 Columbus-Fall River Road, died on Monday, March 19, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 2 p.m., at Okeeg cemetery, Danville. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate.

Mr. Heisig was born on March 7, 1917, near East Bristol, the son of Otto and Josephine (Hesse) Heisig. He was marred on July 5, 1943, to Aluvia Potter in Columbus.

Mr. Heisig was a graduate of Columbus High School, then attended the UW Agricultural Short Course, Madison. He farmed in the Columbus area his entire life. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus, and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Aluvia Heisig, Columbus; one son, James Heisig, Columbus; two grandchildren, William and Michael Seibel, Madison; one brother, Urban Heisig, Columbus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Inez Seibel, and two brothers, Joe and Albert.

There will be no visitation.

The Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.

Rachel A. Larson
SUN PRAIRIE - Rachel A. Larson, 67, died on Saturday, March 17, 2001, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St., Sun Prairie. The Monsignor Duane Mollenberndt will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Hearts cemetery, Sun Prairie.

Mrs. Larson was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Sun Prairie, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Cripps) Drunasky. She was married on June 20, 1953, to Duane Larson. She was married on Nov. 7, 1987, to Marvin Thompson.

Mrs. Larson worked as a legal secretary in Sun Prairie for 30 years, then for the city of Monona from where she retired in 1998. She was a member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church and was an avid Packer fan. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a devoted friend to many.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Thompson, Sun Prairie; six children, Debra (Randy) Spahn, Sun Prairie, Kerry Larson, Shell Lake, Daro Larson, Sun Prairie, Timothy Larson, Madison, LuAnne (Jeff) Wittchow, Columbus and Chris Larson, Sun Prairie; four step-children, Kenneth (Sandy) Thompson, Seattle, Wash., Dennis (Jayne) Thompson, Sun Prairie, and Gary Thompson and Dawn (Mark) Reierson, both of Rio; five grandchildren, Heather Larson, Cameron and Justin Spahn, and Evan and Megan Wittchow; four step-grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson, and Nicole, Erica and Trevor Reierson; one brother, Dale (Sue) Drunasky, Columbus; two sisters, Mary Goldbach, Reeseville, and Margo Drunasky, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Duane Larson, in 1982.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie. The family would like to thank Rachel's many friends who helped during her illness and the support provided by HospiceCare.

Virgil Benzine
RIO - Virgil Benzine, 88, formerly of Rio, died on Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the Continental Manor, Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio. The Rev. Richard Dowling will officiate. Burial will be in Bonnet Prairie cemetery, Otsego.

Mr. Benzine was born on Nov. 3, 1912, near Rio, the son of Herman and Nettie (Nelson) Benzine. He was married on Aug. 24, 1944, to Helen Riley.

Mr. Benzine and his wife took over the family farm in 1957. He was very involved with his children's sporting events and 4-H projects. He had been a resident of the Continental Manor since July 25, 1997.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Benzine, Rio; three sons, Terry (Gail Ann) Benzine, Stevens Point, Patrick Benzine, Portage, and Jeffrey Benzine, Lake Mills; one daughter, Gail Jean Benzine, LaCrosse; two sisters, Norma Larson and Hazel Jacobson, both of Rio; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Kay Larson; one son-in-law, William R. Larson; two grandchildren, Tony and Joshua Larson, and two sisters, Gladys Reif and Lillian Diehlmann.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 20, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio, and on Wednesday, March 21, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio.

Carmen E. Wunrow
Carmen Elaine Wunrow, 77, of W9557 Highway G, Beaver Dam, was born into eternal life on Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 22, at 1 p.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in the Randolph cemetery.

Mrs. Wunrow was born on April 19, 1923, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Davies) Root. She was married on Jan. 3, 1944, to Gilbert "Butch" Wunrow in Durham, N.C

Mrs. Wunrow was a 1941 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was secretary/owner of Wunrow Distributing. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Forty and Eight Caban and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert "Butch" Wunrow, Beaver Dam; one son, Gary (Ann) Wunrow, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Nancy (Ken) Taylor, Plover; one sister, Bernita (Bud) Dreger, Neshkoro; four grandchildren, Gina Taylor, Gary G. Wunrow, Julie Carlson and Brent Taylor; one great-grandchild, Bailey Ann Wunrow; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Sherwood and Ellsworth Root.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 22, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Hospice.

Gordon J. Schabel
MAYVILLE - Gordon J. Schabel, 67, of 305 S. Clark St., Mayville, died on Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy. The Rev. Charles Wester officiated. Burial will take place at a later date, in St. Andrew's cemetery, LeRoy.

Mr. Schabel was born on May 10, 1933, in LeRoy, the son of Albert and Lavina (Bonack) Schabel.

Mr. Schabel was a life long farmer and a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy.

Survivors include one brother, Norbert (Elaine) Schabel, LeRoy; two sisters, Sylvia (John) Thurk, LaCrosse, and Pearl (Jerome) Okon, LeRoy; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gilbert and Raymond, and one sister, in infancy.

Friends called on Tuesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, LeRoy.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, served the family.

Dorothy V. Luckow
Dorothy V. Luckow, 88, died on Monday, March 19, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, Lowell. The Rev. Paul Vander Galien will officiate. Burial will be in Leipsig cemetery.

Mrs. Luckow was born and baptized on a farm in the township of Beaver Dam on Feb. 11, 1913, the daughter of Henry Edward and Martha Emma Louise (Fisher) Krueger. She was married to Elmer A. Luckow on Sept. 17, 1933 at First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and transferred to Salem Lutheran Church, Lowell, at that time.

Mrs. Luckow graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1931. She was a general leader for Leipsic 4-H Club for more than 45 years, a lifelong homemaker and partner in her husband's farm and farm-related business. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and served on the Leipsig cemetery Board for over 20 years.

Survivors include one son, Roger (Susan) Luckow, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Loraine (Ernest) Larson, Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Bernice M. Krueger; three grandchildren, Angela, Matthew and Amy; six step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, in 1988; one son, Robert, at age 16, in 1951, and one brother, Henry W. Krueger, in 1987.

Friends may call on Friday, March 23, from noon until the time of service, at Salem Lutheran Church, Lowell.

The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau, is serving the family.

Winogene Myers
LARGO, Fla. - Winogene "Winnie" Myers, 75, of Largo, Fla., died on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 23, at 11:30 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Catherine Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mrs. Myers was born on March 9, 1926, in Waupun, the daughter of Clarence and Hilda (Bandsma) Nummerdor. She was married on Jan. 18, 1947, to Melvin Myers in Waupun.

Mrs. Myers and her husband lived in Waupun most of their lives and retired in the Lake Tomahawk area and Largo, Fla. She was a member of the Milwaukee Beagle Club. She loved fishing and rummage sales.

Survivors include one son, David Myers, Fond du Lac; three daughters, June (Peter) Hidde, Largo, Fla., Nancy (Robert) Stinemates, Fond du Lac, and Katie (Robert) Anding, Waupun; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Diana, and one sister, Ann Fenlon.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Friday, March 23, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home.

Donica Daniel
MAYVILLE - Donica Daniel, 84, of 118 N. School St., Mayville, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the home of her son, Curtis, in Plano, Texas, where she had resided for the past seven months.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 24, at noon, at St. Paul Lutheran Church Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Daniel was born on Feb. 14, 1917, in Mayville, the daughter of Rhode and Anna (Rukavine) Rutalj. She was married on Feb. 10, 1941, to Courtland Vincent Daniel in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mrs. Daniel attended school in Mayville. She was a devoted wife and mother and a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. She was active in the Rachel Circle at the church.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis (Michaelann) Daniel, Plano, Texas, and Courtney (Linda) Daniel, Mayville; one daughter, Joan (Dr. Athur) Gonty, Lexington, Ky.; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Michael (Inez) Rutalj, Ventura, Calif.; one sister, Violet (Dick) Schultz, Mayville; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtland, in 1983, and one sister, Mary Herman.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Dorothea E. Jacquot
JUNEAU - Dorothea E. Jacquot, 87, of Juneau, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Jacquot was born on Oct. 9, 1913, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Irving and Marion (Nadolsky) Knorr.

A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Clearview for their exceptional care, love and devotion to our mom.

Survivors include one half-brother, Harry Petrofski, Oak Creek, one half-sister, Josephine Gehrke, Juneau; one son, Jerome H. Zahn. Jackson; three daughters, Rosemary Vander Galien-Nickel, Beaver Dam, Patricia A. Jacquot-Weber, Appleton, and Sandra K. Jacquot-Bischoff, College Place, Wash.; 13 grandchildren, Beatrice E. Wendt, Mary Ann Noe, Cindy Young, David Vander Galien, Donald Vander Galien, Ronald Lichty, Jeffery Lichty, Randy Lichty, Kathy White, Judy Conter, Evelyn Zahn, Michael J. Zahn and Stacy Viegas; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's, Harold Zahn and Palmer Jacquot; one daughter, Margaret Hupf, and one half-brother, Marcel Petrofski.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau.

Norman E. Jenkins
Norman "Norm" E. Jenkins, 38, of 208 E. Davis St., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, as a result of a work related accident.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m., at St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Rae Ann Bloomquist will officiate.

Mr. Jenkins was born on June 15, 1962, in Beaver Dam, the son of Norman W. and Renee (Selk) Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins was employed at Michels Pipeline for 12 years. He was an avid bowler, hunter, meat processor and cutter.

Survivors include his significant other, Brenda Mahnke, Beaver Dam; four children, Briar and Jaryd Jenkins, and Travis and Tyler Mahnke, all of Beaver Dam; mother, Renee (Al) Franke, Beaver Dam; father, Norm W. Jenkins, Juneau; grandfather, Sturley Selk, Columbus; step-grandmother, Lillian Franke, Beaver Dam; four sisters and brothers, Anne (Daniel) Pearson, Beaver Dam, Amy (David) Breckheimer, Sherwood, David "Woody" Jenkins, and Jamie Franke, both of Beaver Dam; one step-brother, Bruce (Michelle) Franke, Beaver Dam; one goddaughter, Stephanie Breckheimer; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandmother; two uncles, and one step-brother.

Friends may call on Friday, March 23, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
