THERESA - Louise Wiseman, 55, of Theresa, died on Sunday, April 8, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral is pending with the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Sylvia Westra
WAUPUN - Sylvia Westra, 94, of 1016 Newton Ave., Waupun, died on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

A memorial service was held on Monday, April 9, at 1:30 p.m., at Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon officiated. A special message was offered by Rick Parrish.

Mrs. Westra was born on May 29, 1908, in Waupun, the daughter of John and Alice (Loomans) Landaal. She was married to Jack Westra on July 3, 1937, in South Bend, Ind.

Mrs. Westra attended colleges in Wisconsin and Michigan, later teaching school in Detroit, Mich., and Waupun. She and her husband lived in the Waupun area over 70 years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Westra, Waupun; one son, John (Priscilla) Westra, Madison; one niece, Gail (Jay) Wilson, Sante Fe, N.M.; relatives and friends.

The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, served the family.

Josephine Ledworowski
Josephine Ledworowski, 84, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, April 6, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Ledworowski was born on Dec. 25, 1916, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Emily (Pomasziewicz) Jachimowicz. She was married on June 17, 1944, to Anthony "Tony" Ledworowski in Milwaukee.

Mrs. Ledworowski was a graduate of Messmer High School, Milwaukee, and live and worked in Milwaukee until her marriage to Tony. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and past member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony "Tony" Ledworowski, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 10, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Carla M. Kaepernick
Carla M. Kaepernick, 90, Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam, formerly of 228 S. Ridge St., Hustisford, died on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 11, at 2 p.m., at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Neosho. The Rev. David Meister will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Kaepernick was born on Jan. 11, 1911, in Dundee, Ill., the daughter of William and Elsa (Schellpfeffer) Nehls. She was married on June 5, 1935, to Alfons H. Kaepernick in Mayville.

Mrs. Kaepernick was a graduate of Mayville High School and a graduate of Dodge County Normal School. She was a teacher in the Mayville and Browns Corners area. She was later employed at Herman Mutual Insurance Co., Iron Ridge, and Midland Mutual Insurance Co., Juneau. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Neosho, a member of St. Paul Altar Guild and St. Paul Ladies Aid.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Kathlyn) Kaepernick, Iron Ridge, and Charles (Mary) Kaepernick, Hustisford; one daughter, Kathryn Titus, Nowwalk, Iowa; one son-in-law, Gerold Peay, Hustisford; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfons, in 1994; one daughter, Karen, in 2000; one sister, and two brothers in infancy.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 10, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, and on Wednesday, April 11, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Neosho.

Julie Fietz
COLUMBUS - Julie Fietz, 56, of N5201 S. Salem Road, Columbus, died on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at her home.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 9, at 1 p.m., at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton. The Rev. Eileen Kuehnl officiated. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Fietz was born on Aug. 5, 1944, in Ripon, the daughter of Oscar and Madaline Dreblow. She was married in 1963 to James Opel. She was married on Aug. 14, 1971, to LaVern Fietz.

Mrs. Fietz graduated from Waupun High School. She worked at the Wisconsin Cheeseman, Sun Prairie, and for Kromer Cap Co., Columbus. She was a member of the Marine Corp Auxiliary, Beaver Dam, and a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include two daughters, Laurie Schulze, Milton, Fla., and Lisa Opel, Hudson; one son, Lucas Fietz, Columbus; mother, Madaline Dreblow, Waupun; one brother, Theodore Dreblow, Colorado; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; her first husband, James, on July 24, 1970, and her second husband, LaVern, on Sept. 12, 2000.

The Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, served the family.

Adolf A. Zurbruegg
FALL RIVER - Adolf A. Zurbruegg, 73, of 554 Sleepy Hollow Road, Fall River, died on Monday, April 9, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 2 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Denise J. Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mr. Zurbruegg was born on Aug. 12, 1927, the son of Ernest and Elizabeth Zurbruegg. He was married on Dec. 12, 1958, to Ruth Burkhalter in Columbus.

Mr. Zurbruegg was a longtime town of Columbus farmer where he enjoyed the farming life. His interests included reminiscing with the John Deere 2-Cylinder Club and spending time with his dog, Kelly.

Survivors include one brother-in-law, Ed Zwald, Canyon Lake, Texas; four nieces and nephews; cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth in 1990; one sister, Marie Zwald, and two brothers, Ernie and Robert.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 12, from 1 p.m. until the time of service, at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus.

Maribel Tirado-Miller
VERONA - Maribel Tirado-Miller, 38, of 806 Tamarack Way, Verona, died on Palm Sunday, April 8, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. She now smiles at us from heaven.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 11, at 2 p.m., at St. Andrew Church, 301 N. Main St., Verona. The Monsignor Schmelzer will officiate.

Mrs. Tirado-Miller was born on Feb. 24, 1963, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was married to Thaddeus A. Miller.

Mrs. Tirado-Miller was a loving mother and wife. For the past several years she worked for the United Way of Dane County. Many will remember her dedication to her family, work and the community. She made a difference in this world, one person at a time, and now, a cardinal has shown us that she will make her mark in heaven. She was a member of St. Andrew Parish, Verona.

Survivors include her loving husband Thaddeus A. Miller; her daughters, Cristina, Claire and Amy; her mother, Isabel; sisters, Iris and Norma; brothers, Carlos and Melvin; nieces and nephews, Elisabet, Arnie, Leah, Devin and Kelly; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Honorio.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 11, from noon until the time of service at St. Andrew Church, Verona.

Memorials may be made to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center (write in the memo section, Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute), or Regents of the University of California (write in the memo section UCLA Brain Tumor Research).

Louise S. Wiseman
THERESA - Louise S. Wiseman, 55, of 113 S. Milwaukee St., P.O. Box 182, Theresa, died on Sunday, April 8, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, at 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The speaker will be Shawn Wiseman.

Mrs. Wiseman was born on Oct. 1, 1945, in Green Bay, the daughter of Lucian and Irene (Sobeiski) Lisocki. She was married on July 28, 1962, to James Wiseman in Slinger.

Mrs. Wiseman attended Slinger High School. She was employed at Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac, as a supervisor. She was a member of Theresa Lioness Club, where she held various offices, as well as past district president of the Lioness Club.

Survivors include her husband, James Wiseman Sr., Theresa; three children, James (Dawn) Wiseman Jr., Mayville, Sheila (Jeff) Wallendal, Horicon, and Shawn (Janet) Wiseman, New Orleans, La.; mother, Irene Kurtz, Hartford; one brother, Joseph (Jo Jo) Lisocki, Hartford; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, and her step-father.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 11, from 6 p.m., until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to the Central Wisconsin Cancer Society.

Donald A. Hoff
MAYVILLE - Donald A. Hoff, 77, 220 S. John St., Mayville, died on Sunday, April 8, 2001, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral was held Wednesday, April 11, at noon, at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy officiated. Burial was in Graceland cemetery, Mayville. Graveside services were conducted by Mayville American Legion Post No. 69.

Mr. Hoff was born on Oct. 2, 1923, in Lomira, the son of Edgar and Amanda (Enderle) Hoff. He was married on April 12, 1947, to Teresa Strasser in LeRoy.

Mr. Hoff was employed by Crescent Trucking Co., as a truck driver for 49 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, a member of Mayville American Legion Post No. 69, a member of Teamsters Local No. 695, and was a musician with Earl Youngbeck and the Midnight Rounders Band.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hoff, Mayville; children, Michael (Louise) Hoff, Mayville, Judy (Richard) Blomquist, Milwaukee, Pat (Michael) Eckerstorfer, Menomonee Falls, Cathy (Jeff) Stieve, Mayville, Debra Hoff, Menomonee Falls, Betsy (Sam) Stuhr, Franklin, Jayne (Michael) Feucht, Menomonee Falls, and Jill Hoff, Menomonee Falls; one sister, Aimee (Jerry) Streblow, Mayville; three brothers, Clinton (Blondie) Hoff, Brownsville, Roland (JoAnn) Hoff, Fond du Lac, and Rodney (Jane) Hoff, Maryland; step-mother, Mary Hoff, Lomira; 10 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Friends called on Wednesday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Meta B. Steinke
JUNEAU - Meta B. Steinke, Juneau, died on Monday, April 9, 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 11 a.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau. The Rev. Eugene Kinney will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery, Aniwa.

Mrs. Steinke was born on April 19, 1923, in the town of Lebanon, the daughter of William and Linda Grosenick.

Mrs. Steinke was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Christian Women, Mission workers and Rosary Makers, the HomeMaker Club and Senior Citizens of Juneau. She enjoyed several types of craft making, playing cards at the senior center and home gardening.

Survivors include one son, Arthur (Dorothy) Tautges, Wausau; one step-son, Wayne (Jeanne) Steinke, Juneau; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joseph Tautges, in 1972, and her second husband, Arthur Steinke, in 1994.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 19, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau. D. Jim Roedl Associate.

Evelyn E. Tobak
WAUPUN - Evelyn E. Tobak, 84, of N11180 Highway I, Waupun, died on Sunday, April 8, 2001, at her daughter's home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 11 a.m., at First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Norman Haan will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Mrs. Tobak was born on July 30, 1916, in Brandon, the daughter of Edward and Nellie (Westerbek) Daane. She was married on April 14, 1937, to John Tobak.

Mrs. Tobak was a loving wife, mother and great-grandmother, and resided in the Waupun area all of her life. Evelyn and her husband farmed in the area all of their married life and were members of the First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun. She truly enjoyed the Lord's great outdoors.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce (Roland) Buchholz, Waupun, and Lynnae Tobak, Forrestville, Calif.; two sons, Wayne (JoAnn) Tobak, Minneapolis, Minn., and Eugene (Karen) Tobak, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Respalje, Brandon, Jeanette (Henry) Boerson, Waupun, and Marjorie (Edward) Aalpoel, Brandon; one sister-in-law, Jennie Daane, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, on Jan. 17, 1998; one daughter; one brother, and one sister.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun.

The Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.
