Martin J. Schildt
HORICON - Martin J. Schildt, 74, of Horicon, died on Friday, April 27, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon. The Rev. Daniel Seehafer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery.
Mr. Schildt was born on April 16, 1927, in Hubbard township, the son of John and Myrtle (Justman) Schildt.
Mr. Schildt worked on the family farm outside of Horicon throughout his life. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon, a member of the Horicon American Legion Post. No. 157 for over 50 years, and a member of the Dodge County Antique and Power Club.
Survivors include one brother, Oscar (Alice) Schildt, Horicon; one sister, Laura Schildt, Tucson, Ariz.; a nephew, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Floyd L. Brooks
Floyd "Shorty" L. Brooks, 76, formerly of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. Jack Harle will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Post No. 521 of Fox Lake.
Mr. Brooks was born on March 4, 1925, in Fox Lake, the son of Harvey Robert and Eunice (Caine) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a graduate of Fox Lake High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theatre. Following the service, he was employed with the Kirsh Foundry, Beaver Dam, for 32 years. Due to a stroke suffered at the age of 57, he was forced into early retirement, but was able to continue to enjoy fishing and caring for his yard. He loved dancing to polka music, but most of all cherished the time he spent with his family. He will forever be known as a man with a kind heart and a good word.
He will be sadly missed and mourned by one son, Harold (Kathy) Brooks, Kings, Ill.; two granddaughters, Stacey and Taryn Brooks, both of Kings, Ill.; one great-granddaughter, Alexis; three sisters, Hazel Mierow, and Alta Calkins, both of Beaver Dam, and Betty Kraut, Juneau; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Harold, and one sister, Eleanor Benisch.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake.
Gerald W. Tracy
JEFFERSON - Gerald "Jerry" W. Tracy, 73, of Waterloo, died on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Countryside Home, Jefferson, after a lingering illness.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waterloo. The Rev. Thomas Marr will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Waterloo.
Mr. Tracy was born on Dec. 31, 1927, in Doylestown, the son of Edward and Myrtle (Allds) Tracy. He was married
on June 5, 1954, to Patricia Young in Hartford.
Mr. Tracy grew up in Doylestown and lived in Reeseville until 1967. He was a 1945 graduate of Rio High School and the salutatorian of his class. He was employed as an agent/operator for Milwaukee Railroad/Soo Line Railroad for 44 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waterloo, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1669, Railroad Morse Telegraph Club and the Milwaukee Road Historical Association. He enjoyed trains, horseshoes, hunting, camping and gardening. He worked at Little America in Marshall during the summer.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Tracy, Waterloo; one daughter, Gail (Dan) Krause, Fort Atkinson; one son, Richard (Claudia) Tracy, Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Jason (Heather), Jenny and Scott Krause, and Laura and Michael Tracy; cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Christopher Tracy.

LeRoy R. Nickles
LOWELL - LeRoy R. Nickles, 62, of Lowell, died on Friday, April 27, 2001, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 11 a.m., at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell. The Rev. Paul Vander Galien will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.
Mr. Nickles was born on Nov. 20, 1938, in Richwood, the son of Wilfred and Adeline (Wolf) Nickles. He was married
on Nov. 3, 1973, to Patricia Ann Marquardt at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, Lowell
Mr. Nickles was employed at Helgesen Industries as the second shift plant supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Pitterle-Beaudoin American Legion Post No. 189, Watertown, and a member of the Watertown Elk Lodge No. 666.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Nickels, Lowell; two children, Keith Nickles, Beaver Dam, and Kerry (Dale) Winker, West Bend; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Weihert, Watertown, Steven Winker, Kimberly Winker and Kevin Winker, all of West Bend; one great-granddaughter, Hannah; his mother, Adeline Nickles, Watertown; two sisters, Doris (John) Pirkel, Watertown, and Marie (William) Uselman, Waterloo; two brothers, Wilfred (Kathy) Nickles Jr., and Hugo (Nellie) Nickles, both of Watertown; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Nickles Sr.

Merlin C. Gallenbeck
JUNEAU - Merlin C. Gallenbeck, 85, of 231 Cherokee Road, Beaver Dam, died on Friday, April 27, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 1 p.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mr. Gallenbeck was born on Jan. 16, 1916, in Beaver Dam, the son of Herbert and Bernice (Strieff) Gallenbeck. He was married
on Aug. 17, 1935, to Ruby Pauline Haase in Beaver Dam.
Mr. Gallenbeck was employed at Monarch Range, Beaver Dam, for 42 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
Survivors include two brothers, Arnold (Nettie) Gallenbeck, and Harold (Betty) Gallenbeck, both of Beaver Dam; three sisters, Goldie (Orville) Rudey, Ruth Pederson, and Irene (Vernon) Zimmpelmann, all of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, in 1994; two brothers, Herbert and Lyle, and two sisters, Eldora Bordas and Alvina Schleicher.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 1, from noon until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Cecelia A. VanKilsdonk
PHOENIX, Ariz. - Cecelia "Ceil" Ann VanKilsdonk, 70, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2001.
Mrs. VanKilsdonk was born on Sept. 28, 1930, in Beaver Dam.
Mrs. VanKilsdonk graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and St. Francis College. She moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1954. She worked as an emergency room nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz., and retired in 1992 after many years at the Maricopa County Health Department. She was in the Who's Who of Nursing four times and was very active in the Red Cross. She was an avid world traveler, among her favorite travels were those to Africa.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel, Bayfield, Colo., and Steve and Greg, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Paula Maten, Durango, Colo.; six grandchildren; relatives and friends.
Friends called on Tuesday, April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Whitney and Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Campbell Ave., Phoenix, Ariz.
Edythmae A. Faust
MAYVILLE - Edythmae A. Faust, 78, of 204 Horicon St., Mayville, died on Friday, April 27, 2001, at the Hospice of Metro Denver, Aurora, Colo.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 5, at 1 p.m., at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville.
Mrs. Faust was born on July 4, 1922, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Wenger) Wegmiller. She was married
on April 6, 1941, to Carl H. Faust in Mayville.
Mrs. Faust was a 1940 graduate of Madison East High School. Together with her husband she ran Faust Meat Market, Mayville. She owned and operated the Refuge Motel, Mayville. Later she changed the motel into a nursing home and leased it to Friendship Manor. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Wings Over Wisconsin.
Survivors include her children, Conrad H. (Mary Ben) Faust, Mayville, and Caryle Faust, Denver, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Norma (Ken) Piper, West Salem; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Derek) Frodl, Fort Collins, Colo., and Conrad H. Faust Jr., Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl, in 1984; one grandson, David, in 2001, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 5, from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Michael Dickmeyer
ADRIAN, Minn. - Michael Dickmeyer, 22, of Adrian, Minn., died on Friday, April 27, 2001, in Luverne, Minn.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the Brandon cemetery, Brandon. The Rev. LeRoy Boender will officiate.
Mr. Dickmeyer was born on Feb. 6, 1979, in Hartley, Iowa. He was married
on Aug. 12, 2000, to Renee Smit in Brandon.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Dickmeyer, Adrian, Minn.; his parents, Dennis and Kathy Dickmeyer, Sutherland, Iowa; one sister, Lisa Dickmeyer, Sutherland, Iowa; in-laws, Floyd and Mary Ann Smit, Brandon; one sister-in-law, Torrie Smit, Brandon; two-brothers-in-law and their families, Greg (Angie) Smit, Brooklyn, and Jay (Mandy) Smit and Dean, all of Brandon; grandmothers, Bonnie Lund and Ruth Dickmeyer, both of Franklin, Minn; grandparents-in-law, Edna Smit, Waupun, and Floyd and Dorothy Daane, Brandon; relatives and friends.

Ernst Schwendimann
SLINGER - Ernst "Ernie" Schwendimann, 79, of Slinger, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m., at St. John's U.C.C., Slinger. The Rev. John Tschudy will officiate. Burial will be on Saturday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m., in Union cemetery, Slinger.
Mr. Schwendimann was born on Sept. 28, 1921, in Slinger, the son of Herman and Anna (Kuenzi) Schwendimann. He was married
on May 17, 1947, to Anna M. Berger at St. Steffan's Ev. and Reformed Church, Juneau.
Mr. Schwendimann was born and raised in Slinger. He attended Slinger High School, graduating in 1940. After school he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the European Theatre. After their marriage the couple resided in Slinger. He was a laborer for Tomaro Construction, Cudahy, and J.P. Jansen Construction, Milwaukee, for over 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. John's Church and Council, Commander of the VFW Post No. 3358 Zunker-Held of Slinger, a member of the Laborers Union of America, and the Retired Members of the Slinger Fire Department. He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors, his orchard, vineyard, playing cards and cracking the nuts from his nut trees, but most of all, he loved his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Schwendimann, Slinger; three daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" (James) Busse, Weyauwega, Barbara (Dean) Molstad, Sussex, and Linda (Dan) Schulteis, Richfield; seven grandchildren, Lisa (fiance Mike Winters) Busse, James Busse Jr., Eric, Brian and Stefanie (fiance Michael Mittelstadt) Molstad, Kimberly (Marco) Pineda, and Traci Schulteis; one sister, Hildegard (Allen) Brandt, Cedarburg; one sister-in-law, Grace Schwendimann, Hartford; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Louise, and one brother, Walter.
Friends may call on Friday, May 4, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. John's U.C.C., Slinger. Slinger Fire Department walk-thru at 6 p.m., and VFW walk-thru at 6:30 p.m.

Alene Ketteler
WAUPUN - Alene Ketteler, 79, of Waupun died Friday, May 4, 2001 at her home.
She was born June 10, 1921, a daughter of Joseph and Ella Aarts. She married
Elgart Bruesch in 1941. After his death, she married
George Ketteler and they resided in Montello for 21 years until moving back to Waupun two years ago.
She was employed at Huth James Shoe Factory and National Rivet of Waupun for many years. Ketteler was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Waupun.
She is survived by her husband George of Waupun; one daughter, Judy (Neil) Vande Zande of Waupun; three sons, Ronald (Pat) Bruesch of Waupun, Richard (friend Carol Jacobitz) Bruesch of Fond du Lac and Gary Bruesch of Athelstane; grandchildren Alene (Mike) Heeringa, Rick Vande Zande, Brenda (Terry) Bricco, Becky (Jon) Heinert, Steven (Susie) Bruesch, Susan (Steve) Aronson, Corey (John Bender) Bruesch, Cody Bruesch, Rhonda (Larry Mansfield) Bruesch, Peter Bruesch and Kimberly Bruesch; great-grandchildren, Sarah Bruesch, Rachel and Joey Aronson, Kelly and Ben Heeringa, and Devin Bender; three sisters, Josephine Hopp, Angeline Veleke and Johanna Riel all of Waupun; one brother, John Aarts of California; and her constant companion Mitsy.
Alene was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Elgart Bruesch.
Family funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7 at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Christopher Doerr officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home Waupun is serving the family.
