Willis Schultz
MAYVILLE - Willis "Dich" Schultz, 77, of 1627 Pine Ridge Court, Mayville, died on Thursday, June 6, 2001, at Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 9, at noon, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post No. 69.

Mr. Schultz was born on June 1, 1924, in the town of Williamstown, the son of Erwin J. and Edna (Metke) Schultz. He was married on Nov. 20, 1947, to Violet Pankovich in Beloit.

Mr. Schultz was employed with Mayville Metal Products as a supervisor. He retired in 1987. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville, the American Legion Post No. 69, The Oley Foundation Support Group for people on parenteral nutrition therapy and the 851st Army Engineers. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Schultz, Mayville; one daughter, Christine (Joseph) Bauer, Muskego; one brother, Gordon (Connie) Schultz, Fond du Lac; one sister, Shirley (Edgar) Quardt, Mayville; two grandchildren, Brad and Jennifer; cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Dollie M. Sheldon
COLUMBUS - Dollie M. Sheldon, 81, a resident of the Columbus Center, formerly of the home of her daughter, Marilyn Barnett, town of Fountain Prairie, died on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at the center.

The funeral will be held on Monday, June 11, at 2 p.m., at the Davis Funeral Chapel Inc., Leavenworth, Kan. Burial will be in Easton cemetery, Easton, Kan.

Mrs. Sheldon was born on Dec. 28, 1919, in Easton, Kan., the daughter of William and Bertha (Wilson) Goetting. She was married on Feb. 8, 1940, to James "Art" Sheldon in Platte City, Mo.

Mrs. Sheldon was a lifelong resident of Easton, Kan., and lived with her daughter in rural Columbus for the past three years.

Survivors include two sons, James (Jacque) Sheldon, Omaha, Neb., and J. "Art" (Jeanne) Sheldon, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Marilyn (Richard) Barnett, Columbus, and Diana (Robert) Reynolds, Leavenworth, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ada (Jim) Combs, Leavenworth, Kan.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1972; three brothers, Kenneth, William and Francis, and one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Barnett.

Friends may call on Monday, June 11, from noon until the time of service at the Davis Funeral Chapel Inc., Leavenworth, Kan.

Charles R. Wolff Jr.
Charles R. Wolff Jr., 64, died on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Meriter Park Hospital, Madison, after a courageous eight year battle with emphysema.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Wolff was born on Aug. 3, 1936 in Clifton, N.J., the son of Charles and Ellen (Philbrook) Wolff. He was married to his former wife, Geraldine Jacks on Sept. 22, 1956, and his present wife, Carrie Steen on July 8, 1984.

Mr. Wolff for the past few months has been a resident of Beaver Dam, and prior to that was a resident of Asheville, N.C. and Little Falls/Clifton, N.J. He was employed as an insurance adjustor for St. Paul Insurance Company in New Jersey and also was a marriage and family counselor, which was truly his life' calling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 203 of Clifton, N.J., and of the West Asheville Presbyterian Church, Asheville, N.C. He served his country first in the U.S. Navy and later in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He received his master's degree in psychology from William Paterson College in Paterson, N.J.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Wolff, Beaver Dam; his former wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Coyle, Asheville, N.C.; one son, Charles R. "Buddy" (Darlene) Wolff III, Aurora, Colo.; one daughter, Cindy-Ellen Leopard, Asheville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jessica Wolff, Jordan Wolff, Jaclyn Wolff and Sarah Cohen; his step-children, Jayme Roll, Platteville, Jeremy Roll, Beaver Dam, and Jennilyn Roll, Beaver Dam/Mars Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara (Dr. Robert) Garth, Sparta, N.J., and Karen (Charles) Miller, Lafayette, N.J.; relatives and friends mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie, is serving the family.

He touched many lives and was loved by all.

Velva D. Steenweg
COLUMBUS - Velva "Val" D. Steenweg, 83, died on Monday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the Larson House, Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 11 a.m., at Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ, Columbus. The Rev. Denise Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Friends are invited for a luncheon at the church following services.

Marion E. Hoffman
COLUMBUS - Marion E. Hoffman, 83, of 518 W. James St., died on Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Continental Assisted Living, Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 12, at 11 a.m., at Columbus United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hobbins will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mrs. Hoffman was born on July 31, 1917 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Unger) Krueger. She was married on Aug. 1, 1941 to Robert J. Hoffman in Fond du Lac.

Mrs. Hoffman was an active member of the Columbus United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a long-time choir member, past member of the Harmony Circle, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Hoffman, Columbus; six sons, Robert (Sally) Jr., Baraboo, Frederick (Kaye), Stevens Point, Michael (Lois), Sturtevant, Patrick (Patricia), Burlington, Timothy (Connie), Fall River, and Dennis (Patti), Enon, Ohio; one daughter, Martha (Michael) Howard, Kenosha; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Marjorie Ruch, Ruth Hoffman, and Lois (Larry) Thorpe, all of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Frederick (Naomi) Krueger, and Gerald (Judy) Krueger, both of Fond du Lac; relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jim, Albert, Merle and Robert, and one sister, Leah Grahl.

Friends may call on Monday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Tuesday, June 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Columbus United Methodist Church.

John F. Dingee
COLUMBUS - John F. Dingee, 88, of 1400 Park Ave., died in Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Private family services will be held.

Mr. Dingee was born on Nov. 2, 1912, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Walter and Marjorie (Wallace) Dingee. He was married on April 1, 1934 to Helen Safford in Chicago. He was married on Jan. 1, 1973, to Doris Kranz Robbins, in San Francisco, Calif.

Mr. Dingee attended UW-Madison and lived in various states from coast to coast. He served in the US Army during World War II where he was highly decorated including receiving three Purple Hearts, and was a survivor of Omaha Beach. He spent a lifetime in the canning industry with General Foods, Stokely-Van Camp, Crown Can Co., and others. He was a Columbus resident since 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, Columbus; one daughter, Diane McAllister, La Jolla, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-children, Donn (Carol) Robbins, Muskego, and Richard Robbins, Rockford, Ill.; five step-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Martineau, Holmes Beach, Fla.; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1959; and one brother.

There will be no visitation.

Eleanor M. Ehrke
COLUMBUS - Eleanor M. Ehrke, 88, a resident of the Columbus Center, died on Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Columbus Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 15, at 11 a.m., at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus, The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jerome cemetery, Columbus.

Mrs. Ehrke was born on Feb. 2, 1913, in the town of Hampden, the daughter of Ed and Magdalena (Schmitt) Reinert. She was married on Dec. 2, 1950 to Irving Ehrke in Columbus.

Mrs. Ehrke was a teacher at St. Jerome Catholic School in Columbus for 24 years. She was a member of St. Jerome Church and its Altar Society; a member of the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, and treasurer of the Dodge County Area Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by one brother-in-law, Howard Hatzinger, Beaver Dam; four nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving, in 1984; and one sister, Dorothy Hatzinger, in 2001.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Jerome Church or School.

Leona E. Fredrick
WATERTOWN - Leona E. Fredrick, 90, of 1020 Hill St., Watertown, died on Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Marquardt Memorial Manor.

The funeral will be held on Friday, June 15, at 2 p.m., at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lebanon. The Rev. Charles Werth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Lebanon.

Mrs. Fredrick was born on Feb. 22, 1911, in the town of Lebanon, the daughter of Oscar and Alma (Braunschweig) Budewitz. She was married on May 28, 1932, to Walter R. Fredrick at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lebanon.

Mrs. Fredrick was retired from Mirro Aluminum Siding Co., Oconomowoc. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, puzzles, sewing and quilting. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lebanon.

Survivors include her children, David (Ruth) Fredrick, Beaver Dam, Arnold (Ardis) Fredrick, Hustisford, Joyce (Everett) Zwieg, Sugar Island, Wally (Phyllis) Fredrick, Watertown, Carol (Ed Krusfur) Johnson, Zephyrhills, Fla., Dennis (Karen) Fredrick, Watertown, Pearl Dobbratz, Lomira, and Sharon (Dennis) Kirchoff, Iron Ridge; one brother, Howard (Shirley) Budewitz, Lebanon; four sisters, Marcella Budewitz, Lebanon, Louella (Art) Wolter, Hustisford, Delores (Merlin) Schultz, Oconomowoc, and Mabel Surdick, Watertown; 27 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Jan. 11, 1962; her parents; one son, Harley; one daughter, Lila Murphy; five grandchildren, Marlene, Darlene and Peggy Fredrick, in infancy, and Kimberly Paswater and Ronald Johnson; one brother, Herbert Budewitz, and two sisters, Norma Rantzow and Adeline Kuehl.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, and on Friday, June 15, from noon until the time of service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Shirley L. Riske
Shirley L. Riske, 76, of W9529 Highway G, Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, June 10, 2001, at her home after a long battle with leukemia.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.

Mrs. Riske was born on April 10, 1925, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Xavier "Tony" and Clara Ida (Warber) Beletsky. She was married on Sept. 20, 1944, to Melvin Riske at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Riske was employed with Weyenberg Shoe Factory, Beaver Dam, as a binder for many years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Riske, Beaver Dam; one son, Jerry (Rose) Riske, Waupun; one sister, Geraldine (Raymond) Yerges, Columbus; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Geanadell; one grandson, Kevin Keith Riske, and one brother-in-law, Merlin.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Wednesday, June 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

HORICON - Paula E. Koehler, 85, of Horicon, died on Monday, June 11, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

James W. Dewitz
IRON RIDGE - James W. Dewitz, 50, of Iron Ridge, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Hartford Memorial hospital.

The funeral will be held on Friday, June 15, at 12:30 p.m., at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford. The Rev. Ron Pinc will officiate.

Mr. Dewitz was born on March 9, 1951, in Fond du Lac, the son of Walter and Marcella (Franke) Dewitz. He was married on June 29, 1984, to Bonnie Legate at the Capitol Building in Madison.

Mr. Dewitz was a 1969 graduate of Horicon High School. He worked for International Stamping, Hartford, for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Dewitz; three children, Melanie (Leon) Stratman, Jackson, Joshua Dewitz, Juneau, and Angel Legate, Barton; four grandchildren, Mekenzie and Noah Stratman, and Juliya and Isaiah Legate; his parents, Walter and Marcella Dewitz; mother-in-law, Marilyn Legate, Mayville; two sisters, Sandi (Larry) Kohrt, Mayville, and Jean (Rich) Binkus, West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Pat) Dornacker, Hartford, and Rod (Terry) Legate, Jackson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and one nephew, Travis.
