Frances Nelson
Frances Nelson, 94, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Willows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sun Prairie.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake. The Rev. David Nottling will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Wisconsin Dells.

Mrs. Nelson was born on Oct. 27, 1906, in Wisconsin Dells, the daughter of Herman and Katie (Rhodes) Foat.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake, and a 27-year member of the Fox Lake Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 521. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and animals.

She will be sadly missed and mourned by her children, Edwin "Red" (Virginia) Frank, Deerfield, and Raymond Nelson, Wautoma; 27 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Walter Frank, in 1942; second husband, Vernon Nelson, in 1976, and three sons, Melvin Frank, Virgil Frank, and Ralph Frank.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake.

Shirley Casper
MILWAUKEE - Shirley Casper, 66, died suddenly on Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at her home.

There was no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Casper was born on Nov. 8, 1934, the daughter of Bert and Verna Kiekhaefer.

Survivors include one son, Lance Hoefs, Wautoma; two sisters, Adeline Niswander, Illinois, and Jean (Gordon) McDowell, Juneau; two brothers, Merlin (Florine) Kiekhaefer, Horicon, and Franklin (Corrine) Kiekhaefer, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John Casper.

The Zwaska Funeral Home, Milwaukee, served the family.

Lester Roggenbauer
MAYVILLE - Lester "Specs" Roggenbauer, 78, of 314 Krieser Drive, Mayville, died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Edward Blonski will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Mayville.

Mr. Roggenbauer was born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Theresa, the son of George and Leona (Haacker) Roggenbauer. He was married on Oct. 18, 1947, to Leola Margelofsky at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Mr. Roggenbauer was employed by TAB Products, Mayville, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, St. John's Finance Committee, and the Mayville Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Leola Roggenbauer, Mayville; one daughter, Cheryl (Gene) Harder, Wisconsin Dells; two sisters, Vivian (Melvin) Hamann, Reeseville, and Jean (Jerome) Bilgrien, Hustisford; one brother, Marvin (Judy) Roggenbauer, Burnett Corners; two grandsons, Timothy Harder, Berlin, and Jason Harder, Wisconsin Dells; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Donald, and three sisters, Sally, Lila and Hazel.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to St. John's pew fund.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Harley E. Weinheimer
Harley E. Weinheimer, 76, formerly of 517 W. Maple Ave., Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton.

Mr. Weinheimer was born on Nov. 13, 1924, in Clyman, the son of Edward and Ella (Rohloff) Wienheimer. He was married on June 1, 1946, to Betty Lou Zwieg in Beaver Dam.

Mr. Weinheimer was an insurance agent, retiring from R.J. Meier. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, where he had served on the church council. He was the captain of the Beaver Dam Auxiliary Police for 35 years. He was also an officer of the Wisconsin Camper's Association.

Survivors include one daughter, Tina Weinheimer, Fox Lake; one son, Chester (Beverly) Weinheimer, Beaver Dam; two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Plummer and Andy Weinheimer; two great-grandchildren, Loggan and Alec Plummer; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty, in 1996; one sister, Dorothy Bartelt, and four brothers, Lawrence, Roy, Herbert and Merlin.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Raymond E. Schmutzler Sr.
JACKSON, Calif. - Raymond Earl Schmutzler Sr., 97, of Water Street, Jackson, Calif., died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m., at Daneri Mortuary Chapel, 415 Broadway, Jackson, Calif. Burial will be in Jackson City cemetery.

Mr. Schmutzler was born on Sept. 19, 1903, in Beaver Dam

Mr. Schmutzler and his wife Ethel moved to California in 1936. He worked in Stewarts Garage in San Andreas for 11 months. He and Jim Reese, also from Stewarts Garage started the R & J Body Shop on Broadway Street next to Charlie Gorman's Ford Garage. The shop on 310 Water Street was built in 1945. He and his wife purchased the Amador Stage Lines in 1956 and made daily trips to Stockton and Sacramento until it was sold in 1965 and they managed the business for the new owners until July 1, 1984. The fire on Jan. 3, 1969, destroyed the shop and office building.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Schmutzler Jr., Jackson, Calif.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 1 to 8 p.m., at Daneri Mortuary, Jackson, Calif.

Memorials may be made to the Amador Senior Center, 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson, CA 95642.

Gladys R. Wheeler
SIMI, Calif. - Gladys Rose Wheeler, 75, a 39 year resident of Simi, Calif., died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at her home.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m., at Assumption Catholic cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi, Calif.

Mrs. Wheeler was born on Aug. 9, 1925, in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Rose Thiel.

Mrs. Wheeler was a 1942 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.

Survivors include three children, Jack Wheeler, Jim Wheeler, and Jill Hancock; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Francis (Lee) Thiel; six sisters, Lorna Starks, Dorothy Italiano, Ruth Hoeft, Janet Clark, Mary (George) Leonhard, and Susan (Jim) Rank; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; maternal and paternal grandparents, and four brothers, Ralph, Leroy, Donald and Raymond

The Reardon Simi Valley Mortuary served the family.

Harley G. Sellnow
THERESA - Harley G. Sellnow, 73, of W1053 Allen Road, Theresa, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 1 p.m., at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa. The Rev. David Aderman will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Theresa.

Mr. Sellnow was born on Oct. 4, 1927, in the township of Theresa, the son of William and Alma (Bogenschneider) Sellnow. He was married on April 11, 1953, to Isabelle Marsh at St. Olaf's Church, Toland.

Mr. Sellnow lived on the homestead his entire life. He farmed there until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to polka music and attending church. He was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa.

Survivors include one son, Glenn (Judith) Sellnow, Wauwatosa; one daughter, Nancy (Leo) Kiefer, township of Theresa; four grandchildren, Ann, Joshua, Anthony, and Julieann; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle, in 1996; one sister, Pearl Giese, and one brother, William Sellnow Jr.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cottrill Funeral Home, Mayville, and on Thursday, Aug. 23, from noon until the time of service at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa.

Katherine Czarny
FALL RIVER - Katherine Czarny, 95, of Fall River, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m., at St. Adalberts Chapel, Niles, Ill. The Rev. Douglas Burgess will officiate. Burial will be in St. Adalberts cemetery, Niles, Ill.

Katherine was born on Oct. 15, 1905, in Poland, the daughter of John and Marie Ezachor.

Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Czernek, Chicago, Ill., Dell (Dick) Amato, Elk Grove, Ill., and Marie (Douglas) Burgess, Fall River; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first and second husband.

Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 24, at the time of service at St. Adalberts Chapel, Niles, Ill.

The Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.

Harold H. Gunnink
BRANDON - Harold H. Gunnink, 80, of Brandon, died on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at his home surrounded by his wife and children following a battle with cancer.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m., at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon. The Rev. Leroy Boender will officiate. Burial will be in the Brandon cemetery.

Mr. Gunnink was born on Nov. 2, 1920, in Hull, Iowa, the son of John and Mary (Koele) Gunnink. He was married on Jan. 1, 1942, to Bernice Risseeuw in Clinton.

Mr. Gunnink and his wife farmed in Clinton for 26 years where he was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church and its consistory. In 1968 the couple moved to the Brandon area where he farmed until his retirement. Following his retirement he enjoyed helping his sons with their farming. He was an active member of Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon, and also served on its consistory. He enjoyed the company of his many friends and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Gunnink, Brandon; 11 children which he and his wife raised and loved, Norman (Arlene) Gunnink, Sharon, Darrel (Sue) Gunnink, Clinton, Melvin (Robin) Gunnink, Brandon, Curt (Abbe) Gunnink, St. Charles, Ill., Jeff (Bree) Gunnink, Brandon, Carol (Duane) Pansegrau, Stillman Valley, Ill., Lynette (Dave) Te Beest, Waupun, LaDonna (Tom) Sonntag, Waupaca, Kathy (Bruce) Buwalda, Waupun, Dianne (Mark) Kastein, Brandon, and Sherry (Craig) Laper, Fairwater; 32 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a twin brother, Harvey Gunnink, Crookston, Neb.; one sister, Harriett Schut, Clinton; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant grandchildren, Timothy Buwalda and Stephanie Gunnink.

Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Hope or Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon.

Clark Tracy
WATERTOWN - Clark Tracy, 72, of N1585 Poplar Grove Road, Watertown, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church, Ashippun. The Rev. Michael Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Ashippun Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Tracy was born on Dec. 26, 1928, in Peoria, Ill, the son of Clark and Viola (Wate) Tracy. He was married on Aug. 28, 1947, to Glenna Meador in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Tracy was founder and president of Tracy and Sons Inc., Watertown, from 1959 until present. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 49 and was a 32nd degree Shriner. He loved conversation and enjoyed meeting new people. He and his wife enjoyed traveling with their RV.

Survivors include his loving wife, Glenna Tracy, Watertown; seven loving children, Nina (James) Plasil, Linda (James) Schmidt, both of Watertown, Vickie (Rue) Leitzke, Hustisford, Glenna (Thomas) Vilmin, Beaver Dam, Robert (Kathleen) Tracy, Clark (Jane) Tracy, and Gerald (Jacqueline) Tracy, all of Watertown; two loving sisters, Pauline Mercer and Roberta Bent; 27 beloved grandchildren, Lisa Bechard, Christina Plasil, James Schmidt II, Kimberly Bagneski, Shawna Rennhack, Josiah and Glenna Vilmin, Sol, Joshlyn, Tracey and Rein Leitzke, Jitayna, Clark Jr., Adam, Caleb, Eric, Alicia, Chelsea, Ashley, Abigail, Gerald, Robert, Jason, Laurie, Katie, Amanda, and Nicole Tracy; 10 beloved great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Shanleigh and Braiden Bechard, James Schmidt, Gabrielle, Dellany and Haleigh Bagneski, and Quinton, Ian and Elyse Rennhack; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ida Burwell and Loretta McBride; two brothers, Robert Tracy and Gerald Tracy, and one very loving granddaughter, Vickie Plasil-Feucht.

Friends may call on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, and on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Zion Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Memorials may be made to the Heart, Kidney and Diabetes Foundation, or the charity of one's choice.

Myron P. Weninger
THERESA - Myron P. Weninger, 74, of W489 Highway D, township of Theresa, died on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m., at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa. The Rev. Vincent Holubowicz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Theresa Memorial Garden, Theresa.

Mr. Weninger was born on Feb. 1, 1927, on the Theresa homestead, the son of Alfred and Isabelle (Weber) Weninger. He was married on Oct. 1, 1955, to Rose Marie Blank in Allenton.

Mr. Weninger, lived on the Theresa homestead his entire life. He farmed there, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Weninger, township of Theresa; two daughters, Diane (Robert) Thiede, Horicon, and Eileen (Mark) Lifke, Theresa; four sons, Allen (fiancee Debbie Blank) Weninger, Theresa, Wallace (Molly) Weninger, and Brian (fiancee Darlene Robbins) Weninger, both of Lomira, and Gene Weninger, Theresa; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 24, from 4 p.m. until the time of service, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Theresa.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.

The Cottrill Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.
