Irene M. Moreth
COLUMBUS - Irene M. Moreth, 86, 840 S. Lewis St. died on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at the Columbus Center.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate and interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, East Bristol.

Mrs. Moreth was born on Dec. 6, 1914, in the town of Hampden to William and Thecla (Gross) Ebert. She was married to Gilbert Moreth on Nov. 6, 1935, in East Bristol. She was a lifelong East Bristol area resident and Columbus resident since 1976. She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church and its Altar Society; Christian Mothers of East Bristol, and past member of the Catholic Order of Foresters..

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert, Columbus; one daughter, Janice (Fred) Kosanke, Milwaukee; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella Schey and Lucille Weisensel of Sun Prairie; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Ebert, Sun Prairie; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Francis in 1963, and one brother Rueben.

Friends may call at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2. where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Monday.

The Jones-Jensen of Columbus is serving the family.

F. "Emerson" Schley
F. "Emerson" Schley, 88, of 512 E. Mill St., Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be on Sunday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. The Rev. Eileen Kuehnl will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Schley was born on Feb. 7, 1913 in the town of Fox Lake to Adolph and Emma (Zuehls) Schley where he lived and worked on the family farm while growing up.

He was married to Evelyn Ruske of Beaver Dam in 1938. She preceded him in death in 1979. In 1984, he was married to Mabel Tiedt.

Mr. Schley graduated from Fox Lake High School in 1931, farming in the Fox Lake and Burnett area. He was also a field supervisor and head fieldman for the Green Giant Co. in Beaver Dam. In 1972, he retired from the Kemnitz Agency and Keefe & Associates as a real estate salesman. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; three daughters, Marilynn (Richard) Roessler, Fond du Lac; Barbara (Gil Meisgeier) Schley, Columbus; LauRetta (John) Kurth, Columbus; one brother, Oliver Schley, Fox Lake, one sister Joleen Moderow, Appleton, five grandchildren, Peter, Jeffrey and Timothy Roessler, Hans and Mandy Kurth. Seven great-grandchildren also survive. Three step-sons; Lester (Gail) Tiedt, Burnett; Robert (Jean) Tiedt, Fond du Lac; Gary (Sandra) Tiedt, Beaver Dam. One step-daughter-in-law, Carol Tiedt, Beaver Dam; 12 step-grandchildren and 16 step-greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, one daughter, Juanita in infancy, one brother, Lyman Schley and one sister Eleanore Guesquierre, one grandson, Christopher, one step-son Ronald and one step-great-grandson, Jordan.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m.

Memorials to Trinity Church, United Methodist are appreciated.

William J. Hilbert
HORICON - William G. Hilbert, 63, of Horicon, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish East (formerly St. Malachy Catholic Church). The Rev. M. Eugene Kinney will officiate. Entombment will at at St. Adalberts cemetery, Milwaukee.

Mr. Hilbert was born on Feb. 24, 1938, in Mayville, the son of Nick and Helen (Ruttinger) Hilbert.

He was married to Barbara Kujawa on Aug. 5, 1983, in Mayville.

Mr. Hilbert was a Mayville High School graduate and worked at Maysteel of Mayville for over 40 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and coached basketball at St. Mary's Catholic School for many years. He was a scout leader and enjoyed bowling and camping and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Barbara (Kujawa); children: Richard, Mayville; Robert Benson, Milwaukee; Mark Benson, Hartland; Brenda Benson, Beaver Dam. grandchildren, Brian, Patrick and Nykole Benson, mother-in-law Stella Kujawa, Milwaukee; fivd brothers; Eddie (Veronica), Mayville; Nick (Vickie), Pennsylvania; Al (Betty), Sturgeon Bay; Francis (Margaret), Mayville; twin brother Jim (Mary), Mayville; two sisters, Laura Wagner, Mayville; Helen (Roy) Reibe, Waupun, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Benson in December 1990 and one sister, Margaret.

Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Sacred Heart Parish, Horicon from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Cardiac Care Unit.

Paul W. Heileman
WATERTOWN - Paul W. Heileman, 89, of 1035 Hill St., Watertown, died on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bode will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Heileman was born on Jan. 11, 1912, the son of William J. and Ida (Mack) Heileman in Jefferson.

He was married to Ruth Wheeler Aug. 3, 1940, in Jefferson.

Mr. Heileman was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin farm short course. He farmed in Beaver Dam, retiring in 1994. He lived in Marquardt Village in Watertown until his death. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilynn (Nicholas) Kalman, Winnetka, IL; one son, William (Colleen) Heileman, Watertown; four grandchildren; Jennifer (Eugene) Jaremek, Rebecca Kalman, Christopher and Michael Heileman; one greatgrandchild; Skylar Renee Jaremek, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Ruth of 53 years on May 19, 1993.

Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the American Diabetes Association.

Herman A. Leto
HORICON - Herman A. Leto, 86, of Horicon, formerly of New Berlin, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Horicon.

Mr. Leto was born on April 22, 1915, in New York City, the son of Peter and Angeline Leto.

Mr. Leto was a mushroom grower in New Berlin for 30 years. He owned and operated Wisconsin Mushroom Farms in New Berlin. He semi-retired in 1984. He moved to Horicon in 1992. He served his country during World War II in the Army 3rd Infantry Division.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine (Wieck); children, Donald (Pauline) Leto, South Milwaukee, Sharon (Michael) Cook, Watertown, and Dave Leto, Milwaukee; grandchildren, Jeffery (Theresa) Leto, Desiree (Dan) Dujmic, Becky (Mark) Peterson, Amy Cook and Angie Leto; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Damon Leto, and Alexandra Dujmic; two sisters, Helen (Mark) Miller, and Ida (Bud) Patton; brother, Louis (Lavern) Leto; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau.

Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

LAVERNE M. GRAUNKE

LaVerne M. Graunke of Hustisford passed away at Clearview Nursing Home Wednesday January 30, 2002 at the age of 89 years. She was born April 18, 1912 in Hustisford, the daughter of Oscar & Martha (nee Rambow) Lange. She married Hilbert Graunke on June 9, 1935 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford. LaVerne was a past member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and she worked for Badger Woolen Mills, Gillich’s Grocery Store, Village Pantry and the Lake Hotel through her working years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hilbert in 1983, her sisters; Audrey Soldner ,Willa Belle Hearld and her great grandchild Richard Putsky.

She is survived by children; LuAnne Neice of NY, Marliss (Otto) Hensel of Wautoma, WI, Jay Graunke of Lake Mills, WI, Valerie (Ronald) Magyar of Hustisford, her sisters; Geraldine (Dwain) Jenkins of Randolph, WI, Lois (William) Randerson of Shawano, WI. 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Monday February 4 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church from 1:30-3:45pm. Funeral service to follow at 3:45pm at church. Rev. Timothy Bauer will officiate. Interment Hustisford cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.

LOUIS E. KAUL

Louis E. Kaul of Hustisford passed away at Watertown Memorial Hospital Monday January 28, 2002 at the age of 66 years. He was born April 2, 1935 in the Town of Clyman, the son of Lester and Alvina (nee Bankert) Kaul. Louis married Margaret Stark May 18, 1957 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford. He was a life time farmer in the Hustisford area. Louis worked at Lewis Systems in Watertown for over 23 years and worked maintaining the Wild Goose Trail. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church since 1957.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leroy, his sister LuLuBelle Nehls and a granddaughter Katie.

He is survived by by his wife Margaret of Hustisford, Ralph (Debbie) Kaul of Juneau, Mary Lou Kaul of Hartford, Valene (Kenny) Gudex of Iron Ridge, Kevin (Sandra) Kaul of Montello, WI, Shirley (John) McConville of Watertown, Paul Kaul of Upson, WI, Dawn Settle of Rock Springs, WI, and Michael Kaul of Neosho. Also surviving are his sisters Lilly Mae (LeRoy) Schultz of Clyman, Lillys (James) Frystack of Watertown, his brother–in-law, Kenneth Nehls of Watertown, sister-in-law Esther Kaul of Woodland, 12 grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Thursday January 31 from 4-8pm at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford and Friday from 1-2pm. Funeral service is Friday at 2pm at church. Interment Hustisford cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.

NONA L. LOPAZ

Nona L. Lopas of Hartford passed away Monday January 14, 2002 at her home at the age of 72 years. preceded in death by her sister-in-law Gladys Lopas. She is survived by her loving husband Leroy, her loving children, Charles (Sandra) Lopas of Kenosha, Larry (Carol) Lopas of Hartford and Scott (Linda) Lopas of Hartford. Dearest grandmother of Tracy (Christopher) Rossing of Cordova, Tennessee, Jason Lopas of Kenosha, Andrew Lopas of Milwaukee, Jeffrey Lopas of Chicago, and Cora, Kimberly and Stephanie Lopas of Hartford. Loving great-grandmother of Erik Rossing of Cordova, Tennessee. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

Nona was involved in many organizations in Hartford and enjoyed the fellowship of the friends she made. In her pastime, she enjoyed boating, knitting, golfing, reading, and helping people in the community and her church. Above all, her deep faith and her commitment to her family and church is what Nona will be remembered for. Memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund or Horizon Home Hospice would be appreciated.

Visitation Thursday 3-7 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 255 W. Lincoln Avenue, Hartford. Funeral service to follow at 7 pm at Church. Interment Friday at 10 am at Pleasant Hill cemetery, Hartford. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.

Audry Marty

Audrey Marty (nee Weisskopt) of Erin, WI passed away Wednesday, January 16 at her home at the age of 86 years. She was born April 30, 1915 in Milwaukee. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1977. She was the owner and operator of Erin Antiques for many years. She is survived by her cousins John M. Besser of Minneapolis, MN, Judy A. Messling of Arlington Heights, IL, and James D. Besser of Annandale, VA. Also surviving are many good friends in the Hartford area.

Graveside service Monday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.

LILLIAN A. SETTE

Lillian A. Sette, 82, of rural Juneau, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Hillside Manor. She was born on April 9, 1920 in the Town of Burnett, Dodge County, the daughter of Oscar and Linda (nee Zimmerman) Pautz. She married Edwin C. Sette on May 5, 1945 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Horicon, WI. She farmed with her husband in the Town of Clyman until retirement. Lillian was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1988, one granddaughter, and by three brothers, Oscar, Lester, and Harvey Pautz. She is survived by her sons, Robert of Juneau, and Russell (Patricia) of Reeseville, her daughters, Linda (Glen) Pretzer of Hemlock, MI, and Barbara (Ron ) Smits of Louisville, KY, ten grandchildren, and by her sister-in-law Lorraine Pautz of Horicon.

Visitation Saturday, November 9 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. Service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Interment Juneau City cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home - Juneau is serving the family.

BRUCE C. SANDERSON

Bruce C. Sanderson of Huntington Beach, CA, died Monday, March 11, 2002 at Kindred Hospital, Westminster, CA at the age of 54 years. He was born December 5, 1947 to Owen and Arvilla (nee Kleinsteiber) Sanderson of Columbus, WI. Bruce grew up in Marshall, WI and graduated from Marshall High School in 1966. He was also a graduate of Stout University (1970). He earned a Masters Degree from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO (1975), and received a PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI in 1983.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Keller Sanderson of Huntington Beach, CA; two sons, Rohnn (Shannon) Sanderson of Aurora, CO, and Derrick Sanderson of Hartford, WI; his mother, Arvilla I. Sanderson and a sister, Rosemarie Astle, both of East Peoria, IL; two brothers, Thomas O. Sanderson of Waunakee, WI, and Loren D. Sanderson of Peshtigo, WI, three nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Sanderson.

Bruce had a passion for teaching. He taught for ten years at North High School in Menomonee Falls, WI and was an adjunct professor at three different universities in California for the past 15 years. He was employed by Fleetwood in Riverside, CA. Prior to that he was employed by American Honda and Nissan Corporation.

Memorial reception Saturday, March 16th from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford. Memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 218 S. Main Street, Hartford. Fr. Michael Tess will officiate. Memorials to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Foundation appreciated.

Arvilla Indermuehle

Arvilla Indermuehle of Hartford passed away Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Hartford Care Center at the age of 88 years. She was born August 21, 1913 in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Fred and Hanna (nee Roemer) Guerndt. She married George Indermuehle on April 28, 1934 at the First United Methodist Church in Hartford. Arvilla worked for 18 years at the Hartford City Library and was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartford.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence and Leslie Guerndt. She is survived by her husband George, her sons Fred (Carol) Indermuehle of Conover, WI, Richard (Sharon) Indermuehle of Hartford, her grandchildren, Tim of Vail, CO, Pat (Robin) of Conover, WI, Mike of West Bend, and Jennifer of Hartford, and by her great-grandson Hunter. Also survived by nieces.

Visitation is Tuesday, January 22 at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service is to follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Arv Arveson will officiate. Interment Pleasant Hill cemetery on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Memorials to the Washington County Humane Society or the American Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.

MAE V. WRIGHT

Mae V. Wright of Hartford passed away Friday February 22, 2002 at Hartford Care Center at the age of 89 years. She was born May 1, 1912 in Pelto, North Dakota, the daughter of Matt and Mary (nee Honkola) Perila. Mae was the 14th child of 17 children born to this large wheat farming family of the Red River Valley. She married John F. Wright on May 14, 1931 in Devil’s Lake, ND. Mrs. Wright had lived 40 years of life in Hartford, but for a short time in Tigerton, Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Lake Mills, Menomonee Falls, Hartland and Sussex.

She is preceded in death by parents, her husband who passed away October 17, 1965 and an infant son James and 15 of brothers and sisters. Mae is survived by sons; Thomas (Judith) Wright of Hartford and Jack (Kathryn) Wright of Oconomowoc, her grandchildren; Barbara (Sergio) Loch of Des Moines, IA, Mary (Joseph) Buelt, of Sussex, WI James R. (Frances) Wright of Chula Vista, CA Richard J. (Valerie) Wright of Hartford, and Robert S. Wright of Los Angeles, CA. Also surviving is her sister Sylvia (Everett) Kiley of Grand Forks, ND, 4 great grandchildren; Erich & Monila Loch, Patrick Buelt and Jeremy T. Wright, many, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation Wednesday at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford from 5-7pm. Funeral service will follow at 7pm. Rev. Mike Tess will officiate. Interment Sunny side cemetery. Lannon, WI. Memorials to the Hartford Care Center would be appreciated. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.
