Allen A. Raabe
REESEVILLE - Allen A. Raabe, 72, a lifelong Reeseville area resident, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville. The Rev. Donald Steinberg will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Reeseville.

Mr. Raabe was born on April 20, 1929, in the town of Lowell, the son of Edward and Selma (Strobel) Raabe. He was married on March 27, 1948, to Geraldine L. Ottow at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reeseville.

Mr. Raabe worked at Dairy Equipment, Madison, for 33 years, retiring in 1993. His favorite pastime was fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Raabe, Reeseville; two sons, Allen E. (Christine) Raabe, and Jeffrey C. (Darlene) Raabe, both of Reeseville; one daughter, Sherri L. (Ralph) Firari, Reeseville; six grandchildren, Greg (Cindy) Huebner, Corey Huebner, Jessica Huebner, Daniel (Denise) Raabe, Michelle (Cliff) Jakel, and Beth Ann Raabe; one step-grandson, Nathan Huebner; four great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; one sister, Judith (Robert) Pribnow, Oshkosh; one brother, Eugene Raabe, Crivitz; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, and one nephew.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Kathleen A. Karsten
WAUPUN - Kathleen Karsten, 72, formerly of Horicon, died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at the Christian Home, Waupun, after a brief illness.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Ripon. The Rev. Kenneth Guy will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Horicon.

Mrs. Karsten was born on March 25, 1930, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Michael and Marie (Murphy) Kennedy. She was married to Dr. Frederick A. Karsten, on July 14, 1956, in Oshkosh.

Mrs. Karsten graduated magna cum laude in music education from Northland College in 1952 and received her master's degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin. She made Horicon her home for 40 years, raising five children. She served the city of Horicon as a school board member and president for over 17 years and was a strong advocate for many educational and civic causes. She moved to Waupun in 1996 following the death of her husband and has led a very active life of volunteer service with the Waupun Hospital Auxiliary and the Women of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Ripon. She will be remembered with thanksgiving by her family as a Christian wife, mother and grandmother, dedicated to family and home.

Survivors include five children, John (Susan) Karsten, Waupun, Adrian (Ellen) Karsten, Green Lake, Mary (Jack) Surridge, Chicago, Ill., Jennie (Doug) Patrykus, Waupun, and Carrie (Kevin) Knight, New Berlin; 10 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Frederick A. Karsten on Sept. 7, 1995.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the time of service at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Ripon.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Ripon for the Children Education Fund.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon is serving the family.

Wallace R. Jurgerson
RIO - Wallace R. Jurgerson, 77, of rural Rio, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. Teri Forbes will officiate. Burial will be in Bonnet Prairie cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Rio American Legion Post No. 208.

Mr. Jurgerson was born on May 17, 1924, in Rio, the son of Walter and Clara (Knudson) Jurgerson. He was married on Dec. 28, 1951, to Arlene Christian in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mr. Jurgerson was a graduate of Rio High School. He worked for the railroad for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Arlene Jurgerson, Rio; five sons, John Jurgerson, Rio, Joel Jurgerson, Madison, James (Kim) Jurgerson, Dakota, Minn., Jerome (Christy) Jurgerson, Rio, and Peter (Lisa) Jurgerson, Cambria; three daughters, Jill Landsverk, Sun Prairie, Jan Jurgerson and Holly (Don) Bach, both of DeForest; one sister, Joan Link, Fall River; seven grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Donna Jurgerson.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.

Orville J. Burg
WAUPUN - Orville "Grandpa O.J." J. Burg, 91, of the Christian Home, Waupun, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at the home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun. The Rev. Mike Moran will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Milwaukee, at a later date.

Mr. Burg was born on Jan. 10, 1910, in Monches, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Schwartz) Burg. He was married on Feb. 9, 1931, to Marie C. Goetz in Milwaukee. He was later married in 1978, to Ethel McAlpine in Middle Inlet.

Mr. Burg retired from Geuder, Paeschke and Frey, Milwaukee, in 1972, after 40 years as a machine operator.

Survivors include one daughter, Sister Jeanne Burg O.P., Henderson, Nev.; one son, Glen (Shirley) Burg, Fox Lake; four grandchildren, Douglas (Bridget) Burg, Waunakee, Paul (Elaine) Burg, Kingston, Kris (Jay) Wimmler, Plymouth, and Tim (Nancy) Burg, Brasher Falls, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by both wives; four sisters; three brothers, and one granddaughter.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Herbert J. Greinert
Herbert J. Greinert, 92, of 212 E. Industrial Drive, Apt. 24, Beaver Dam, formerly of Clyman, died on Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Clyman. The Rev. Dan Torkelson will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Clyman.

Mr. Greinert was born on Oct. 31, 1908, in the town of Clyman, the son of William and Minnie (Schallock) Greinert. He was married on July 31, 1930, to Alice Borck in Illinois.

Mr. Greinert was employed as a maintenance foreman at Aunt Nellie's Foods. He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Clyman.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Greinert, Beaver Dam; one son, Richard (Rita) Greinert, Clyman; one daughter, Phyllis (Ronald) Schoenwetter, Reeseville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Greinert and Edna Greinert Kressin.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Clyman.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Lucille E. Colotti
COLUMBUS - Lucille E. Colotti, 78, of Columbus, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at her home.

Private family services will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, at Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Ted Medema will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mrs. Colotti was born on Sept. 14, 1924, in Westby, the daughter of Peter and Karen (Peterson) Paulsrud. She was married to Carl Colotti on Sept. 20, 1941, in Westby.

Mrs. Colotti resided in Columbus for the past 57 years. She and her husband owned and operated The Vets Bar in Columbus for many years. She was a loving mother who especially enjoyed raising her family and homemaking.

Survivors include four sons, Jim (Sharon) Colotti, Boca Raton, Fla., Denny (Lorraine) Colotti, Columbus, Tom (Stephanie) Colotti, Cleveland, Miss., and Joe (Becky) Colotti, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three daughters, Judy (Roger) Thiede, Columbus, Kathy (Raymond) Henderson, Nevada, and JoAnne Colotti, Boca Raton, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her companion of many years, Bob Powers, Fall River.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; one infant son; and several brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice.

The Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.

Fred E. Miescher
REESEVILLE - Fred E. Miescher, 68, of 215 N. Main St., Reeseville, died on Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m., at Holy Famly Catholic Church, Reeseville. The Rev. John Simon officiated. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Lowell.

Mr. Miescher was born on April 14, 1933, in Darien, the son of John and Bertha (Billeter) Miescher. He was married on June 9, 1956, to Sally Penoske, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Reeseville.

Mr. Miescher served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for seven years. He worked at the shoe factory in Waterloo, and the glove and boat factories in Reeseville. He then worked at the Dodge County Highway Department for over 33 years. He was a member of the Reeseville Village Board, and was a member of the Lowell/Reeseville Lions Club, White Tail, and Wings over Wisconsin.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Miescher, Reeseville; five children, George (Pamela) Miescher, Barbara (Robert) Paar, both of Reeseville, Patricia (Dave) Kopplin, Waterloo, Margaret (John) Schmidt, Marlene (Jay) Peeper, both of Reeseville; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one AFS student daughter, Rita (Omar) Vidal, and her three children, Argentina, South America; one brother, John (Betty) Miescher, Waterloo; one sister, Alice Gehler, Waterloo; mother-in-law, Vivian Penoske, Fox Lake; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, George Penoske.

Friends called on Monday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville, and on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Lucille D. Jacobitz
WAUPUN - Lucille D. Jacobitz, 85, of 331 Bly St., Waupun, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Martin W. Schulz will officiate. Burial will be in Brandon cemetery.

Mrs. Jacobitz was born on Dec. 9, 1915, in Brandon, the daughter of William and Emma (Baker) Warnke. She was married in August 1950, to Erwin Jacobitz in Port Washington.

Mrs. Jacobitz and her husband moved to the Milwaukee area shortly after marriage, and she managed the Meuer Family Bakery for several years. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. The couple moved back to the Waupun area this past August.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Erwin Jacobitz; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Harold Warnke; one sister, Wynema Hollander, and one half-sister, Leone Hoffman.

Gordon Selken
RIO - Gordon "Gordie" Selken, 43, of Rio, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, due to a motorcycle accident.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m., at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m., at the Reformed Church, Dell Rapids, S.D.

Mr. Selken was born on Jan. 20, 1958, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Melvin and Arla (Alberts) Selken.

Mr. Selken grew up on a farm outside of Dell Rapids, S.D. He attended school in Dell Rapids, S.D., and graduated from Rapids High School in 1976. He was then employed with Halvorson Construction until 1981. He purchased his own tractor trailer and did what he loved to do and that was driving truck, first with Gambler Express Inc., and most recently with Anderson Trucking.

Survivors include his parents, Melvin and Arla Selken, Dell Rapids, S.D.; brothers, Greg (Pam) Selken, Dell Rapids, S.D., Roger (Samella) Selken, Brookings, S.D., Keith (Darla) Selken, Brandon S.D., Neil Selken, Garretson, S.D., and Jerry (Deb) Selken, Brookings, S.D.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie, and on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 3 to 9 p.m, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Kahler Funeral Home, Dell Rapids, S.D.

John P. Fink
FOX LAKE - John Paul Fink, 56, of Fox Lake, died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at his home.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m., in Riverside Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. Michael Wild will officiate. Friends may greet the family at gravesite from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

John was born on Sept. 26, 1946, in Neenah, the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Schneider) Fink. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. John was employed for many years with Smith Ice Cream of Oshkosh in production and as a delivery person. John moved to Fox Lake 27 years ago where he was employed with Hopkins (HACCO) Chemical Co. in Randolph and with Green Giant in Beaver Dam. For the past 13 years, John was devoted to the care of his mother and to the Dodge County Sheriff Department, where he volunteered his time as roadside aluminum can controller.

John will be deeply missed and mourned by his mother, Dorothy Nelson, Fox Lake; two sons, Bart Fink, Oshkosh, and John "JR" Heinen, Richland Center; two brothers, David Nelson, Portland, Ore., and Paul Fink, Union Grove; four sisters, Mary (Tom) Webb, St Marys, Kan., Pam (Gerry) Miller, Appleton, Rhoda Wetz, Clarksford, Idaho, and Paula Fink, Birfbane, Calif.; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Fink, and two brothers, Nathan Nelson in 1963, and James Fink in 2001.

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, is serving the family.
