Joseph Mich
FOX LAKE - Joseph Mich, 102, of Del Burn Acres, Fox Lake, died on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at the Markesan Resident Home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun. The Rev. Mike Moran will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Milwaukee.

Mr. Mich was born on Aug. 18, 1899, in Gufstein Austri, Austria. He was married to Anna Galler.

Mr. Mich and his wife lived in Milwaukee. He worked in various areas of the construction business. He spent many years of his life in the Fox Lake area, and attended various Catholic churches in the area.

Survivors include one son, Eugene (Marion) Mich, Fox Lake; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, in 1968.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun.

The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.

Ronald D. Shriver
REESEVILLE - Ronald D. Shriver, 56, of Reeseville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center, Madison.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.

Mr. Shriver was born on Jan. 22, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Mattie (Kincaid) Shriver. He was married on April 24, 1992, to Jean Landsee in Madison.

Mr. Shriver moved to Wisconsin in 1978. He worked for Royle Communications and Publishing of Sun Prairie for over 16 years. He helped with the Sun Prairie Farmers Market.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Shriver, Reeseville; one daughter, Debbie (Brian) Mueller, Watertown; one son, James Shriver, Cincinnati, Ohio; one step-son, Shannon Bassette, Reeseville; three granddaughters; one brother, Robert (Marion) Shriver, Springfield, Mo.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society or to the Salem Lutheran Church building fund.

David L. Criss
MAYVILLE - David Lee Criss, 40, of 21 S. Elm St., Mayville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Wauwatosa.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 19, at 11:30 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Dennis Bratz will officiate. Burial will be in Kekoskee cemetery.

Mr. Criss was born on Dec. 8, 1960, in Mississippi, the son of Manuel and Bonnie Mae (Mosley). He was married on Sept. 3, 1999, to Tammy Spittel in Fond du Lac.

Survivors include his wife Tammy Criss, Mayville; one step-daughter, Fostina Dambruch, Mayville; five children, David Posey, Mayville, Shobin Posey, Mark Posey, both of Mississippi, David Criss, and Xavier Criss, both of Illinois; mother, Bonnie Mae Criss, Mississippi; father-in-law, Larry Spittel, Mayville; mother-in-law, Patty Spittel, Mayville; two sisters, Bernice West, Fond du Lac, and Justine White, Illinois; two brothers, Robert Criss, Illinois, and Manuel Criss Jr., Mississippi; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Manuel Criss, and one step-daughter, Chelsea Dambruch.

Friends may call on Monday, Nov. 19, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Gloyd S. Marquardt
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - Gloyd S. Marquardt, 81, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at her home.

There will be no service. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Marquardt was born on Oct. 6, 1920, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Gleason E. and Erma (Snow) Stoddart. She was married in 1950 to Fred Marquardt.

Mrs. Marquardt attended Wayland Academy, Beaver Dam. She had her nurses training at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital, graduated in 1958 and worked as an RN for over 45 years. She adopted Fred's two children in 1958. She and her husband moved to Hot Springs Village in 1989. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years, and a member of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include her husband, Fred; one son, Fred Marquardt II, Hot Springs Village, Ark.; one daughter, Robin Lee Marquardt, Burlington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, John Stoddart.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.

The Cedarvale Funeral Home, Hot Springs Village, Ark., is serving the family.

Russell J. Kerr
Russell J. Kerr, 64, of W9092 Heritage Hills Road, Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at University Hospital, Madison.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Steve Rovics will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Kerr was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Delafield, the son of Lawrence Mallory and Mary Ellen (Jones) Kerr.

Mr. Kerr was a graduate of Palmyra High School. He was employed with Briggs and Stratton, Milwaukee, for 30 years. He was a member of A.I.W. 232, Milwaukee, and a deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Beaver Dam, where he accomplished extensive Tracks.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Ellen Goerke, Beaver Dam; one brother, Robert Bruce (Mary) Kerr, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Laurie and Kenneth.

Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 16, from 1 p.m. until the time of service, at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Eleanor L. Schwoch
Eleanor L. Schwoch, 87, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m., at the First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Jensen will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Schwoch was born on July 14, 1914, in Lake Mills, the daughter of Herman and Lena (Voight) Rosenthal. Upon her mother's death in 1917, she went to live with her cousin Lucy and Fred Christ in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Schwoch graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1933 as class salutatorian. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Monarch Range where she met her future husband, Wilbert. Having lived under the name Eleanor Christ since moving to Beaver Dam, she legally had it changed before getting married to Wilbert on Oct. 21, 1939. During World War II, Eleanor joined her husband in Pleasanton, Calif., and worked at the Pleasanton Bank.

She was a member of the First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, since marriage and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school there. She worked as a secretary for Green Giant for 25 years. After retiring, she played the organ at church services for seniors at Lakeside.

Mrs. Schwoch and her husband enjoyed traveling and were able to visit all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. They toured 12 countries in Europe and had a delightful trip to Australia and New Zealand. Besides travel, her other hobbies included playing the piano and organ, embroidering, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Wilbert Schwoch; one daughter, Janet (Philip) Jones, Woodland Hills, Calif.; one son, Gerald (Mary) Schwoch, Middleton; five grandchildren, Raimi, Kara, Matt and Keith Jones, and Anna Schwoch; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hillside Manor for their extraordinary care.

Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Friday, Nov. 16 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Gene Kempfer
Gene Kempfer, 68, died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Borgwardt Funeral Home, 1603 South 81st St., West Allis.

Mr. Kempfer was the director of the International Snow Sculpting Competition and the former owner of Kempfer Court Reporting Company. He will be missed by many friends around the world.

Survivors include his wife, Melody; children, Kristin (Ben) Stone, Karin Kempfer, Melinda Kempfer, and Francesca (Damon) Padovano; grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda, Ariana and Ashleigh; great-grandson, Travis; father, Frank; one brother, Jim; one sister, Ellen (Jim) Yeatts; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin.

Margaret A. Schultz
MADISON - Margaret A. Schultz, 89, of Madison, died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison. The Rev. Rupert Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Schultz was born on March 24, 1912, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Casimer and Martha (Cegelski) Schmidt. She was married on Feb. 9, 1947, to John Schultz.

Mrs. Schultz worked as a cashier for the Chocolate Shoppe, Madison, for over 16 years. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Madison.

Survivors include her husband, John; one son, Michael J. Schultz, Beaver Dam; cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronald Schultz, and one brother, Alois Schmidt.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, and on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Gerald Uebel
BURNETT - Gerald "Gerry" Uebel, 58, of rural Burnett, died on Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett. The Rev. James Daughtery will officiate. Burial will be in Brandon cemetery.

Mr. Uebel was born on Dec. 29, 1942, in Beaver Dam, the son of Frank and Edna (Kolitz) Uebel. He was married on July 9, 1989, to Porferia "Ria" Arbon in the Philippines.

Mr. Uebel was a graduate of Brandon High School. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard for six years. He was employed at Kirsh Foundry, Beaver Dam, for the last nine years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett, and the Dodge County Antique Power Club.

Survivors include his wife, Ria Uebel, Burnett; two sons, Dustin Uebel, Burnett, and Ryan Uebel, New Richmond; one step-daughter, Maria "Dimple" Marqueses, Burnett; one brother, Leonard (Judy) Uebel, Fairwater; one nephew, Steve Uebel, Fairwater; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett.

Phyllis G. Corser
WAUPUN - Phyllis G. Corser, 79, of 514 Edgewood Drive, Waupun, died on Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun. The Revs. Kenneth Loehrke and Kenneth Spence will officiate. Burial will be in Rodgersville cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Mrs. Corser was born on Feb. 16, 1922, in Waupun, the daughter of Edwin and Aurelia (Zimpleman) Schaumburg. She was married on Oct. 4, 1942, to Earl D. Corser in Bennettsville, S.C.

Mrs. Corser was a 1940 graduate of Fond du Lac Goodrich High School, and attended the Fond du Lac Business College for two years. She was a secretary during World War II for Allis Chalmers, to help with the war effort. Following her employment with Allis Chalmers, she worked for 19 years with the Department of Corrections. She was a member of Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun, and was past president of the Ladies Aid of the church. She volunteered in the jewelry department of the Bethesda Fair on the Dodge County Fairgrounds. She was very instrumental in the creation of the Christmas "Cookie Walk" of the church, and was involved with various other functions of the church. She was voted 1964 Mother of the Year.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Earl Corser, Waupun; four children, Karyn (Lee) Carmon, Tempe, Ariz., Gail (Paul) Ernst, Warrenville, Ill., Richard (Deborah) Corser, Fond du Lac, and Wendy (Gary) Vossekuil, Waupun; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Vance (Iris) Schaumburg, Portland, Ore.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Lauren and Edwin.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun.

A memorial is being established in her name.
