James L. Litscher Sr.
James L. Litscher Sr., 62, was born to eternal life on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 4017 S. Whitnall Ave., Milwaukee. Burial will be in St. Adalbert cemetery, Milwaukee.

Mr. Litscher was a butcher at Rupena's in Milwaukee.

Beloved dad of Mary Dolores (Robert) Weed, John (Martha), James (Deanna) and Therese; dear brother of Giles (Dorothy) Litscher and Bill Litscher. Also survived by grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Florence; his wife, Mary Ann (Maleski) Litscher, and one sister, Mary.

Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the Larson Brothers New Berlin Chapel, 15250 W. National Ave.

Memorials may be made to Milwaukee Hospice.

The Church and Chapel Funeral Service, Milwaukee, is serving the family.

Shirley Cryan
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - Shirley Cryan, 67, of 263 Lighthouse Ave., Pacific Grove, Calif., died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at her home.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 11:30 a.m., at Graceland cemetery, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate.

Mrs. Cryan was born on June 12, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Allan and Marcella (Kliefoth) Freeman. She was married to John Cryan.

Mrs. Cryan attended schools in Chicago, Ill., and Terre Haute, Ind. She was an independent golf sales representative in northern California. She worked in the golf industry for over 30 years and over this time became a highly respected professional sales representative. She was a member of St. Angela's Catholic Church, Pacific Grove, Calif., a member of the Northern California Golf Reps Association, and the Spanish Bay Club, Pebble Beach, Calif.

Survivors include her husband, John Cryan, Pacific Grove, Calif.; one son, Timothy Culkin, Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Cindy Culkin, Englewood, Colo., and Theresa Culkin, San Jose, Calif.; eight step-children, Christine Borisch, Oregon City, Ore., Michael Cryan, Honolulu, Hawaii, Maureen Breslin, Milton, N.Y., Kathleen Cryan, Newburgh, N.Y.; Colleen Giametta, Milton, N.Y., Stephen Cryan, Pinehurst, N.C., Eileen Morehead, Newburgh, N.Y., and Laureen Baldwin, Walden, N.Y.; one brother, Alan Freeman, San Jose, Calif., one granddaughter; 12 step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Thomas Culkin, in 1997, and one step-son, Kevin Cryan, in 1996.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1184 Monroe St., Salinas, Calif., or the Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1798, Monterey, Calif.

Bradd K. Hady
HARTLAND - Bradd K. Hady, 15, of Hartland, died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2001.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Highway E, Hartland. Burial will be in St. Charles cemetery.

Loving son of Ken and Sue (Evans) Hady; loving brother of Chris and Elizabeth; dear grandson of Jerome and Kay Hady, Gordon Evans, and Harriet Robson; dear great-grandson of Margaret Hady; fond nephew of Nancy (Tim) Young, Pat (Laura) Hady, Sandi Evans and Shelley (Brian Henken) Evans. Further survived by cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hartland.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Richard J. Yelczyn
MADISON - Richard J. Yelczyn, 66, of Stoughton and Madison, died on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at a local hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m., at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison. The Rev. Jason Hesseling will officiate. Burial will be on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m., in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Yelczyn was born on June 25, 1935, in Merrill, the son of Michael and Lucille (Riese) Yelczyn. He was married on Oct. 1, 1955, to Marie "Marcy" H. Nadolski in Beaver Dam.

Mr. Yelczyn served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in the 28th Armament and Electronic Maintenance Squadron. He achieved an associate degree in electronics from Madison Area Technical College and spent many years as an electronic technician. He was also employed with the Madison School District for many years. He was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church for 40 years. He loved photography, golfing, woodworking, history and crossword puzzles. He spent time living life, enjoying his family and sharing his humor.

He was the caring dad of Jeanne (Bo) Behrens, Wausau, Beverly (Fred) Culpepper, Missoula, Mont., Linda (Matt) Cory, Barneveld, and Susi (Rick) Mickelson, Edgerton; loving grandfather of Adam, Christopher, Devin, Andrew, Jonathan, Jacob, Daniel and Joseph; son of Lucille Trepczyk, Beaver Dam; dear brother of Wally, Holland, Mich., Lawrence, Horicon, and Skip (Patsy), Beaver Dam; further survived by one sister-in-law, Audrey (Robert) Gullickson; one brother-in-law, William Nadolski, Kissimmee, Fla.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including his golfing buddies.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcy, his father, and step-father.

Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 2, from 5 p.m. until the time of service at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Madison.

Howard Montsma
WAUPUN - Howard Montsma, 75, of Waupun, died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Jeff Brower will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mr. Montsma was born on May 27, 1926, in the Netherlands, the son of Edward and Bernice (Vander Veen) Montsma. He was married on April 8, 1954, to Sylvia Heeringa in Waupun.

Mr. Montsma immigrated to the United States with his family in 1947. Following his marriage, the couple resided in Delavan where they farmed. In 1968, they moved to Waupun, where they farmed and semi-retired in 1992. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Waupun where he served as an elder, a past board member of Waupun Christian Grade School, dairy leader, and was an active member of Weeping Willows 4-H. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, pool, hunting and golf.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Montsma, Waupun; four sons, Edward (Kathy) Montsma, Fond du Lac, Thomas (Ann) Montsma, Ken Montsma, both of Brandon, and Jeff Montsma, Fond du Lac; three daughters, Elaine (Bob) Kuiper, Brandon, Bonnie (Jim) Immel, and Debra (Scott) Van Buren, both of Waupun; 13 grandchildren, Christine Montsma, Wyatt and Lee Kuiper, Kirk Van Buren, Andy Immel, Haley Montsma, Cory Starbird, Allison Montsma, Wesley Immel, Shawn Montsma, Nicole Van Buren, Kalen Montsma, and Gabrielle Montsma; four brothers, John (Eva) Montsma, Wheaton, Ill., Peter (Joan) Montsma, Waupun, Ted (Thelma) Montsma, Delavan, and Bert Montsma, Arkansas; four sisters, Shirley (Arie) Terpstra, Delavan, Theresa Vegter, Winter Haven, Fla., Alice (Henry) Heeringa, Waupun, and Edna (Bill) Kelder, Winter Haven, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Waupun.

Annabelle E. Martinson
STOUGHTON - Annabelle E. Martinson, 75, of Stoughton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at the Stoughton Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, Stoughton. The Rev. Bill Lehman will officiate. Burial will be in the Lower Running Valley cemetery, rural Colfax.

Mrs. Martinson was born on Aug. 14, 1926, in Columbus, the daughter of Avery and Esther (Hasenfuss) Lawrence. She was married on Aug. 15, 1948, to Virgil Martinson at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun.

Mrs. Martinson earned a degree of registered nursing from the Luther Hospital School of Nursing in Eau Claire. She started as a deaconess in Beaver Dam and went on to St. Joseph's Hospital and the Marshfield Clinic. She then nursed at the Jackson Clinic of the Methodist Hospital and was the former director of nursing in the Stoughton Hospital, before finishing her active career in the East Clinic of Dean Medical, Madison. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, an auxiliary member of the Gideons, and a state and national FFA alumni member. For over 60 years and throughout various churches she was an active choir member, she taught Sunday school in Marshfield, and was a church board member of various churches as well as on many committees and women's circles. After her retirement, Annabelle continued giving her nursing skills to those in need, she enjoyed making her cross-stitch works and donating them to the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil Martinson, Stoughton; her children, Thomas (Lynne) Martinson, Madison, Timothy (Lois) Martinson, Mason, Mich., Kristi (Wesley) Parker, Las Vegas, Nev., Kathleen Martinson, Sun Prairie, and Kara (Kirk Johnson) Martinson, Richfield, Minn; five grandchildren, Erik, Krista, Nicholas, Kelsey and Andrew; two sisters, Marilyn (Marvin) Raddatz, and Marjorie (Robert) Peachy, both of Waupun; one brother, Durwood (Betty) Lawrence; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home, Stoughton.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, or the Gideons.

Evelyn A. Knoll
TONKA BAY, Minn. - Evelyn Ann Knoll, 81, of 105 Woodpecker Ridge Road, Tonka Bay, Minn, died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at the Presbyterian Health Care Center, Spring Park, Minn.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m., at the Huber Funeral Home Chapel, 1801 Commerce Blvd., Mound, Minn.

Mrs. Knoll was born on Nov. 6, 1919, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Albert and Agnes (Machovitz) Klatt. She was married on Sept. 14, 1941, to Verne Knoll.

Mrs. Knoll was a 1937 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She owned and operated the Graff Gift Store in Beaver Dam for approximately 15 years. She suffered from the convergences of three major health complications, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's and cancer.

Survivors include her husband, Verne Knoll, Tonka Bay, Minn.; one son, Judson (Judith) Knoll, Madison; two daughters, Justine (Dr. Robert) Haselow, Edina, Minn., and Jennifer (Guy) Doot, Minnitrista, Minn.; six grandchildren, Dr. Mia (Salvadore) Mendoza, Belmont, Mass., Portia (Lance) Johnson, Justin Knoll, Nicholas Knoll, all of Madison, Emma and Owen Doot, Minnitrista, Minn.; one foster sister, Phyllis Bresser, Madison; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Klatt, in 1980.

Friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Huber Funeral Home Chapel, Mound, Minn.

Roy R. Hubatch
FOX LAKE - Roy Raymond Hubatch, 83, of 111 Edgelawn Drive, Fox Lake, died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Continental Manor, Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., at the Bradley Funeral Home, 1550 Neva Road, Antigo. The Rev. Omer Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Antigo.

Mr. Hubatch was born on Sept. 3, 1918, in the town of Rolling, Langlade County, the son of John R. and Ida (Hoppe) Hubatch. He was married on Sept. 13, 1941, to Doris Vaclavik at St. John Catholic Church, Anitgo.

Mr. Hubatch served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was employed for three years at Kraft Foods, Antigo, 23 years as a foreman for Felix Zeloski Farms, Antigo, and was employed at the International Harvester dealership, Beaver Dam, until retiring in 1980. He was employed seasonally until 1996, with Steve Slinger Farms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and gardening. He and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Hubatch; one daughter, Janice Glover, Greeley, Colo.; two sons, Kenneth (Mary Kay) Hubatch, Baraboo, and Dennis (Debra) Hubatch, Beaver Dam; three sisters, Evelyn (Clarence) Keiper, Bernice (Walter) Wick, both of Antigo, and Marilyn (Robert) Joerns, Elcho; one brother-in-law, Gustave Dettmann; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Loretta Dettmann, and two brothers, Elmer and Harold Hubatch.

Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo.

Clarence W. Lange
COLUMBUS - Clarence "Pat" W. Lange, 84, of 138 River Road, Columbus, died on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at his home.

Private family services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jerome cemetery, Columbus.

Mr. Lange was born on Nov. 15, 1916, in Columbus, the son of William and Emma (Schilling) Lange. He was married on April 11, 1942, to Charlotte La Pres in Columbus.

Mr. Lange was a 1934 graduate of Columbus High School. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He was employed as a sales and service representative for Chisolm-Ryder Co. for over 40 years. He was a member of the Columbus Fire Department for over 40 years, where he served as past treasurer and was an honorary member for 25 years. He served on the Police and Fire Commission for the city of Columbus. He was a longtime active member of the Columbus Kiwanis Club and served on the board of directors. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Award in 1997. He served on the Meals on Wheels Program since his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Lange, Columbus; one daughter, Carolyn (Daniel) Bollman, North Pole, Alaska; one son, Glenn (Judy) Lange, Columbus; one grandson, Steven (Jennifer) Lange, Columbus; three great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beatrice Traeger, and one grandson, Daniel Lange

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Jerome Church, Hillside Hospice, or the Columbus Fire Department infrared camera fund.

The Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.
