Vesta B. Ehlenfeldt

Vesta B. Ehlenfeldt, 96, of Hillside Manor, died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at the manor.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m., at Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate.

Mrs. Ehlenfeldt was born on Aug. 5, 1905, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Frank J. and Minta (Davis) Livermore.

She was married on June 25, 1923, to Le Roy Ehlenfeldt in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Ehlenfeldt was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School.

She was employed in the cutting department at Weyenberg Shoe Factory.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was chosen Queen of the Sesquicentennial of Beaver Dam in 1991 because of her family history and longevity in Beaver Dam and Dodge County.

At the present time she has five generations living in Beaver Dam.

Her hobbies included collecting music boxes, crocheting and circle-word puzzles.

She also really enjoyed watching the Packers on TV.

Survivors include three children, Robert (Alice) Ehlenfeldt, Beaver Dam, Charles (Adeline) Ehlenfeldt, Burnett, and Carol Braemer, Beaver Dam; one son-in-law, Robert Gossfeld, Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Delores Roedl, Beaver Dam; one brother-in-law, Elmer Rhode, Beaver Dam; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Le Roy; one daughter, Kay Gossfeld; one son, Vernon "Bud" Ehlenfeldt; one son-in-law, Le Roy Braemer; one grandson, one great-grandson, one brother, and four sisters.

Friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 3 to 3:45 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to Systic Fibrosis or the American Heart Association.

Raymond N. Anderson

WAUPUN - Raymond N. Anderson, 83, of Waupun, was called to heaven on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Mr. Anderson was born on Aug. 18, 1918, on a farm in Stevens County, Minn.

In 1923, the family moved to Forest City, Iowa, and lived there until 1930, when they moved to Northfield, Minn.

In 1934, they moved back to Forest City, Iowa.

Shortly after the move his mother had a heart attack and he and his mother moved to live with an older sister and her husband.

Ray attended high schools in Luverne Minn., Pipestone, Minn., and graduated from Mankato High School, Mankato, Minn.

During the summer of 1936 he started working seasonally for Green Giant Company, LaSueur, Minn., and he continued as a seasonal employee until 1942 when he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on March 17.

He attended boot camp in San Diego, Calif.

After boot camp he was sent to radio schools in Logan, Utah, and Orlando, Fla., and radar school in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He participated in the Marshall Island's operations and the Okinawa campaign.

When he was discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps he returned to work for Green Giant Company.

In June 1980, he retired from Green Giant/Pillsbury, after a 41 year career.

He enjoyed retirement all these years.

Mr. Anderson was married to Marian Mollison in 1946, and they had one child, Mary Ellen. During their time together they lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Marian died in 1963. He then was married to Maxine Dorsey Nitz, on Feb. 12, 1966.

They lived in Minnesota most of their married life.

He and Maxine moved to Waupun in 1997 to be closer to their families.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Anderson; three daughters, Barbara (Randy) Brewer, Mary Anderson, and Peggy (Todd) Fredrickson; six grandchildren, Tracy and Tammy Brewer, Bobbi Schlick, Daniel, Tyler and Patrick Fredrickson; two great-grandchildren, Willie Brewer and Bryton Schlick; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, two brothers, and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Irene E. Zimpelmann

Irene E. Zimpelmann, 81, a resident of the Beaver Dam Care Center, formerly of the Beaver Dam area, died on Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at the care center.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

The Rev. John Breitwisch will officiate.

Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery, Horicon.

Mrs. Zimpelmann was born on Sept. 1, 1920, in Minnesota Junction, the daughter of Herbert and Berniece (Strieff) Gallenbeck.

She was married on Feb. 18, 1939, to Vern C. Zimpelmann in Horicon.

Mrs. Zimpelmann was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

She and her husband farmed in the town of Oak Grove most of her lifetime.

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn (John) Eberle, Horicon, and Betty Lou (Dave) Zastrow, Boulder Junction; two sisters, Ruth Pederson and Goldie Rudey, both of Beaver Dam; two brothers, Arnold and Harold Gallenbeck, both of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, in 1999; one son, Vern Jr.; three brothers, Lyle, Merlin and Herbert Gallenbeck Jr.; two sisters, Alvina Schleicher and Eldora Bordus.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from noon until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Henry H. Hennig

BURNETT - Henry H. Hennig, 81, of N8513 Front St., Burnett, died on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, N8523 Front St., Burnett.

The Rev. James Daugherty officiated. Burial was in North Burnett Union cemetery.

Mr. Hennig was born on June 13, 1920, in Hamburg, the son of Henry and Rose (Heise) Hennig.

He was married on Oct. 11, 1941, to Ruth Schmude at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun.

Mr. Hennig served his country with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, and served as a barber during his tour of duty.

He was formerly employed with the International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 21, Watertown, for over 40 years.

He was an honorary member of Local No. 21 following retirement.

He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Burnett, where he served on the trustees committee and various other committees of the church.

He was also a member of the Getchel-Nelson American Legion Post No. 210, Waupun.

Survivors include two daughters, Kristine Hennig and Mary (Glenn) Hundt, both of Burnett; two grandsons, Neil and Todd Hundt, both of Burnett; two brothers, Harvey (Marie) Henning, and Richard (Carol) Henning, both of Waupun; two sisters, Lois (Irv) Koch, Burnett, and Marion Henning, Juneau; one sister-in-law, Ruth Henning, Fond du Lac; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, on April 5, 2001; his parents, and five brothers, Merlin, John, James, Lyle, and Elton.

Friends called on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from noon until the time of service at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Burnett.

The Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.

Larry D. Welsch

Larry D. Welsch, 57, of 712 Grove St., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

The Rev. Greg Jewison will officiate.

Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mr. Welsch was born on Dec. 24, 1943, in Beaver Dam, the son of Roland and Gertrude (Zweek) Welsch.

He was married on Nov. 28, 1964, to Nancy Schwoch at Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Welsch was a Beaver Dam resident all his life and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1962.

He worked for the Beaver Dam Street Department for over 30 years and for eight years he was the owner of Frankes Bar.

Mr. Welsch was a Beaver Dam Conservationist and a member of the Beaver Dam Eagles Club.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and in past years, was an avid bowler.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Welsch, Beaver Dam; three children, Brian (Kristin) Welsch, Fond du Lac, Tara Welsch, and Kent Welsch, both of Beaver Dam; one granddaughter, Haley Welsch; two sisters, Carole Kurkowski, Fond du Lac, June Knorr, Beaver Dam; three brothers, James (Judi) Welsch, Lee (Judy) Welsch, and Robert (Susan) Welsch, all of Beaver Dam; mother-in-law, Bernice Schwoch; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, and two in infancy, and father-in-law, Clarence Schwoch.

Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Robert A. Hurst

LILY - Robert A. Hurst, 72, of Lily, died on Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at his home.

Services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hurst was born on Sept. 5, 1929, in Two Rivers, the son of Alden P. and Lulu (Zieman) Hurst.

He was married on Aug. 26, 1950, to Gloria Daugherty in Mayville.

Mr. Hurst was a salesman for Gleason Reel. He was a former resident of Ohio, California, Mayville, and retired to Arbutus Lake.

He was a member of the DeSoto Club of America, and the Church of Christ.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include six daughters, Mary Venzke, Minneapolis, Minn., Ann Hurst, Maple Grove, Minn., Marti Palmas, Glendale, Ariz., Patricia Limberg, Fox Lake, Karen Beanland, Loveland, Ohio, Barbara Hurst, Plano, Texas; three sons, Tom Hurst, Hesperia, Calif., David Hurst, Torrance, Calif., Paul Hurst, Boscobel; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Jane) Hurst, LeRoy; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Lulu; one brother, Richard; one sister-in-law, Nancy, and two sons, Steve and Peter.

There was no visitation.

The Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, Antigo, served the family.

Louise M. Wheeler

Louise M. Wheeler, 90, formerly of 810 N. Center St., Beaver Dam, died on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam.

The Rev. Eileen Kuehnl will officiate.

Burial will be in the Beaver Dam City cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Wheeler was born on Halloween, Oct. 31, 1910, in Waubay, S.D., the daughter of Hans and Tilda (Aslackson) Jacobson.

She was married to Mally L. Wheeler, on Aug. 16, 1930, in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Wheeler came to Beaver Dam at the age of 17 and was employed at Kraft Foods.

She and her husband were owners of Wheeler's Badger Grocery for 17 years, until their retirement in 1970.

She was a member of the Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include one daughter, Kaye Janisch, Randolph; two sons, Robert L. (Gloria) Wheeler, Beaver Dam, and Mally Dean (Elaine) Wheeler, Neshkoro; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Duane (Donna) Slaathaug, Ft. Pierre, S.D.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mally, on Sept. 12, 1995; seven sisters; one half-sister, and one half-brother.

Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Trinity Church United Methodist, Beaver Dam.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Jeanette De Boer

RANDOLPH - Jeanette De Boer, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at her home in Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph.

The Rev. James Admiraal will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery.

Mrs. De Boer was born on July 23, 1926, in Green Lake County, the daughter of Charles and Susie (Kramer) Vander Galien.

She was married to Gerhardt "Gary" De Boer on July 23, 1948, at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph.

Mrs. De Boer was a lifelong area resident and was a member of the Randolph Second Christian Reformed Church.

She was a member of the Lydia Society of the church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Gary; her children, Andrew (Barbara) De Boer, Charles (Jean) De Boer, Betty (James) Eisenga, Stanley (Faye) De Boer, all of Randolph, and Rosalyn (Randall) Mouw, Chino, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anne (George) Dykstra, Randolph, Flora (Edwin) Homan, Waupun, and Evelyn (Lawrence) Beekman, Randolph; two brothers, Mike (Evelyn) Vander Galien, and Stuart (Charlene) Vander Galien, both of Randolph; one sister-in-law, Marge Cupery, Randolph; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Jean De Boer; one granddaughter, Stacy Lynn De Boer, and her parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Randolph Community Funeral Home, and on Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

A memorial fund is being established for the Bible League.

Hannah N. Wissbaum

WAUNAKEE - Hannah Nicole Wissbaum, beautiful infant daughter of James and Judith Wissbaum, died on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Meriter Hospital, Madison.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the First Reformed Church, Cambria.

The Revs. Julie WaterDu and Kirk Morledge will officiate.

Burial will be in Cambria cemetery.

She will be sadly missed and mourned by her parents, James and Judith (Sanderson) Wissbaum, Waunakee; one sister, Elizabeth, at home; maternal grandparents, James and Joanne Sanderson, Cambria; paternal grandfather, Francis Wissbaum, Lancaster; maternal great-grandparents, John and Doris Boyer, Cambria; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends of the family.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Barbara Wissbaum, and one cousin, Nicole Sanderson.

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, is serving the family.
