Clarence Dreyer
WYOCENA - Clarence "Butch" Dreyer, 60, formerly of rural Friesland, died on Monday, April 1, 2002, at the Columbia County Health Care Center, Wyocena, with his family by his side.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 12:30 p.m., at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Friesland. The Rev. John Unnasch will officiate. Burial will be in the Friesland cemetery.
Mr. Dreyer was born on June 3, 1941, in Portage, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Schultz) Dreyer. He was married
on Nov. 4, 1961, to Darlene Froehlich in Portage.
Mr. Dreyer was a 1959 graduate of Portage High School. He worked on the family farm all his life, and loved to go deer hunting and fishing with his granddaughters. He was also an avid bowler, having bowled in leagues in Rio and Fall River, and most recently at Prairie Lanes, Markesan, in the Tuesday and Thursday Nite Men's Bowling League. He was very proud of the 300 game he bowled on Dec. 8, 1981, on alleys one and two at Prairie Lanes. He will always be remembered for the love he had and the times that he cherished with his family.
He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Darlene Dreyer, rural Friesland; one son, Daniel (Paula) Dreyer, rural Cambria; one daughter, Tammy (Darrel) Krueger, Friesland; four sisters, Helen (Paul) Ebert, Wisconsin Dells, Lois (Merlin) Graham, Waunakee, Shirley (Jerome) Maier, Portage, and Olive (Raliegh) Ramsey, Baraboo; aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Audrey A. Weber
Audrey A. Weber, 85, of 208 Emily Lane, Beaver Dam, died on Friday, April 5, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital following a year-long battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 9, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
Mrs. Weber was born on July 31, 1916, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Edward and Alice (Nowak) Bodus. She was married
on June 5, 1943, to Roland Weber in Milwaukee.
Mrs. Weber enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining, bird watching, and her pets. She was a homemaker throughout and was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren in recent years.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Arnie) Wickland, and Cheryl Kueffner, both of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Bonnie (Scott) Budde, Kris (Jerry) Garczyski, Cathi (Paul) Wilson, Ernie (Stephanie) Kueffner, Anne Kueffner, and Elliot Kueffner; three great-grandchildren, Mara Budde, Riley Budde, and Austin Kueffner; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland, in 1988, and one sister, Delores Budde.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

HEMET, Calif. - Edward S. Lee, 86, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of the Columbus area, died on Saturday, April 6, 2002, at his home.

Mr. Lee was born on March 9, 1916, in Leeds. He was married
on Oct. 10, 1942, to Mildred Miller.
Mr. Lee had been an electrician for Boeing North America for 30 years in Inglewood, Calif. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hemet, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Lee, Hemet, Calif.; three sisters, Jennyln Warren, Ripon, Sylvia Baumhardt, Fond du Lac, and Ruth Knutson, Coon Valley; relatives and friends.

Edward S. Lee

DeWayne L. Banetzke
COLUMBUS - DeWayne L. Banetzke, 73, died peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2002, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 11 a.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. Robert Wilke will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.
Mr. Banetzke was born on Oct. 17, 1928, in Wauwatosa, the son of Leonard and Anna (Petrich) Banetzke. He was married
to Shirley Lange in Columbus in 1963, where they would have celebrated 39 years of wedded bliss on April 27.
Mr. Banetzke farmed with his parents for many years on the family farm in Fall River, also working part-time at the Fall River Foundry in Fall River. He was employed at Enerpac in Columbus for the past 34 years. His hobbies included bowling on two separate bowling teams, playing cards, reading books and travelling, especially travelling to Branson, Mo. He was a faithful Badger football fan, having held season tickets for the past 24 years. The highlight and enjoyment of being a fan was going to the Rose Bowl game and watching the Badgers win. He also loved his Green Bay Packers, being a dedicated fan all his life. He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. He served on the church council for many years and for the past 16 years was the church custodian until the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Columbus; one son, Randy, Fall River; two daughters, Laurie (James) Niehoff and Michele (Steven) Steiner, both of Columbus; five grandchildren, Brandon and Tiffany Niehoff, and Mitchell, Skyler and Zachary Steiner; one sister, Mary Ann Banetzke, Columbus; mother-in-law, Edna (Hilbert) Hodgson, Beaver Dam; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Howard Petrich, Columbus; sister-in-law, Nancy Lange, Sun Prairie; brother-in-law, Donald Lange, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; two nephews, Todd (Cari) Dykstra and Chad (Colleen) Dykstra, both of Fall River; cousins, relatives and many friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Wilbert Lange; step mother-in-law, Melba Lange; and one nephew, Scott "Hubba" Dykstra.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, and on Thursday, April 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.

Pamela A. Lange
FOND DU LAC - Pamela A. Lange, 43, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Juneau, died on Friday, April 12, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Juneau. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception cemetery.
Mrs. Lange was born on May 24, 1958, in Juneau, the daughter of William "Bud" and Carole (Klink) Gahlman. She was married
on Nov. 11, 1978, to Gene Miller in Juneau. She was married
in April 2000, to James Hedman in Fond du Lac. She was married
on Nov. 26, 2001 to Michael Lange in Florida.
Mrs. Lange was a domestic engineer and very involved with children. She and her first husband, Gene, were foster parents, and later, adoptive parents of Brandon. She loved gardening, fishing and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Lange, Fond du Lac; three sons, Marc (Heather Scot) Miller, Horicon, Matthew Miller, Juneau, and Brandon Miller; her parents, William and Carole Gahlman, Juneau; two sisters, Bernadette (Steve) Mueller, Juneau, and Cheryl McKinly, Lodi; one brother, Robert (Brenda) Gahlman, Beaver Dam; one grandson, Corey Miller, Horicon; former husbands, Gene Miller and James Hedman; former in-laws, Merlin and Joanne Miller, Juneau; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .
She was preceded in death by one stillborn daughter, Mary; grandparents, William and Marie Gahlman, and Vincent and Isabel Klink; one uncle, Florian "Jack" Klink, and one aunt, Karen Zingsheim.

Jerome Zangl
BROWNSVILLE - Jerome "Jerry" Zangl, 76, of 524 Church St., Brownsville, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 5:30 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Roger Clapp will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Brownsville. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Lomira American Legion Post 347.
Mr. Zangl was born on April 15, 1926, in Brownsville, the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Adelmeyer) Zangl. He was married
on Oct. 2, 1948, to Phyllis Sommerfeld in Milwaukee.
Mr. Zangl owned and operated Jerry Zangl Trucking. He retired from Michels Pipe Line. He had also been employed with the Camelot Country Club as a grounds keeper. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Brownsville, the Lomira American Legion Post 347, and the Oakfield VFW Post.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas (Jackie) Zangl, Brownsville, Steven (Faye) Zangl, Fox Point, and Michael (Nancy) Zangl, Stoughton; two sisters, La Verna Hinkes, Knowles, and Carol Ann (Pat) Zimmer, Lake Mills; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Zangl, Mayville; eight grandchildren, Craig (Bridget) Zangl, Keith Zangl, Brad (Amy) Zangl, Tanya Zangl, Nikki Zangl, Jay Zangl, Matt Zangl, and Mitch Zangl; one great-grandchild, Jake Zangl; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis, in 1975, and one brother, Eugene, in 1985.

Mary L. Berenz
A funeral liturgy for Mary L. Berenz (nee Murtha) will be held on Tuesday, April 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton. The Rev. Gerald Falk will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 23, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Appleton. Luncheon and fellowship will follow the service.

Michael D. Bremer
WAUPUN - Michael D. Bremer, 43, of Waupun, formerly of Mayville, died on Sunday, April 21, 2002, at Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, April 25. Cremation will take place.
Mr. Bremer was born on Sept. 10, 1958, in Beaver Dam, the son of Donald Bremer and Marie (Kraetzner) Gernetzke.
Mr. Bremer loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was a very giving person and was always willing to help others.
Survivors include one son, Charlie D. Bremer, Waupun; his mother, Marie (Robert) Gernetzke, Arizona; his father, Donald (Geri) Bremer, Texas; three sisters, Linda (Duke) Posthuma, Carol (Dan) Fox, and Rochelle Dockstader, all of Beaver Dam; one brother, Dave (Darlene) Bremer, Beaver Dam; five stepsisters; three stepbrothers; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, an aunt, one nephew, and one cousin.

Mary E. Enerson
MADISON - Mary Elizabeth Enerson, 95, formerly of Cambria, died on Friday, April 19, 2002, at the Meriter Health Care Center, Madison, where she resided since 1997, after a short illness.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Cambria. The Rev. Julie WaterDu will officiate. Inurnment will be in Cambria cemetery, after which a luncheon will be served at the church.
Mrs. Enerson was born on May 2, 1906, the eldest child of Owen J. and Ruth (Whitelaw) Williams. She was married
in 1956 to Clifford Enerson, another Cambria businessperson.
Mrs. Enerson was a 1924 graduate of Cambria High School, and a 1928 graduate of UW-Madison, majoring in English. Shortly after graduation, she returned to Cambria to work in the family hardware business. She worked with her father until his death in 1948, and thereafter ran the business by herself until her retirement in 1984. Throughout her life she was active in the affairs of the First Presbyterian Church, Cambria, and taught Sunday school there for many years. She had a passion for history, especially the history of Columbia County. She was an unofficial family historian for the extended families of both her father and mother (a Whitelaw, whose family first settled in Portage). Her death marks the end of a presence of the Williams' family in Cambria that began before 1850.
She will be sadly missed and mourned by many cousins, including Bill Whitford, who has been especially close to her in recent years, by the siblings, nieces and nephews of her late husband, and by her many friends collected in a long life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford, in 1980; two sisters, Ruth Jeannette Williams, and Margaret Emma Williams, and one halfbrother, Garvin Williams.

Louella M. Freiman
Louella M. Freiman, 92, a resident of Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam, formerly of 511 N. Lincoln Ave., Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at the manor.
A private family funeral will be held at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mrs. Freiman was born on Nov. 22, 1909, in the town of Westford, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Schmidt) Schmutzler. She was married
on June 15, 1929, to Arthur W. Freiman.
Mrs. Freiman was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was employed with and retired from Weyenberg Shoe Factory. She was a resident of Beaver Dam most of her life. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Kay Freimann; four grandchildren, Harlow C. (Cindy) Freimann Jr., Cheryl Freimann, Christine (Doug) Dare, and Michelle (Steve) Kohls; eight great-grandchildren, Lacey, Mandy, Jordan, Trevor, Nicole, Joshua, Rebecca, and Justin; two great-great-grandchildren, Skylar and Mason; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; one son, Harlow C. Freimann; brothers and sisters.
A private visitation will be held.
