Loretta J. Blazek
WAUPUN - Loretta J. Blazek, 84, of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, March 19, at 11:30 a.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake. The Rev. Michael Wild officiated. Burial was in Riverside Memorial Park, Fox Lake.

Mrs. Blazek was born on Sept. 10, 1917, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Bernice (Babbit) Jurek. She was married on Sept. 16, 1939, to John L. Blazek in Chicago.

Mrs. Blazek moved to the city of Fox Lake in 1986, where she loved to spend her free time fishing.

She will be sadly missed and mourned by her children, Gloria Tegtmeyer, Champion, Mich., and Susan Moore, Fox Lake; five grandchildren, Brian Tegtmeyer, Wood Dale, Ill., Michael Tegtmeyer, Schaumburg, Ill., Kathy Thomas, Palm Beach, Fla., Cindy (Tony) Conforti, Parker, Colo., and Kelly Kuzulka, Horicon; six great-grandchildren, Debbie and John Tegtmeyer, Jill and Clint Tegtmeyer, Thomas Loomer and Michael; one brother, Jerry Jurek, San Diego, Calif.; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, John; three brothers, Ed, Art, and John, and two sisters, Emily Gibson and Marge Oleksy.

Friends called on Tuesday, March 19, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake.

Elmer H. Pieper
JUNEAU - Elmer H. Pieper 92, formerly of W5012 Highway 60, Juneau, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Beverly Terrace, Watertown.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m., at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Karl Walther will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m., at Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia.

Mr. Pieper was born on Oct. 13, 1909, in the town of Hustisford, the son of George and Anna (Krueger) Pieper. He was married on April 29, 1940, to Marcella Kressin at Zion Lutheran Church, Clyman.

Mr. Pieper was a dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown, and a former member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Lebanon, where he served as an elder and was a member of its school board. He had also been on the board of directors of the Universal Co-op of Lebanon.

Survivors include one daughter, Lila (fiance Waldemar Schliewe) Giese, Juneau; one brother, Gerhard (Lois) Pieper, Oconomowoc; one sister, Arella Butschke, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; six brothers, Raymond, Walter, Clarence, Edgar, Harry, and George; two sisters, Alma Groth and Leona Maas, and one son-in-law, Ronald Giese.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 21, from 4 p.m. until the time of service, at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Mildred L. Frederick
JUNEAU - Mildred L. Frederick, 77, of Juneau, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 21, 2002, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in the Juneau City cemetery.

Mrs. Frederick was born on Dec. 14, 1924, in Clyman, the daughter of George and Viola Hoeft. She was married on Nov. 30, 1943, to Kenneth "Kenny" Frederick at Zion Lutheran Church, Clyman.

Mrs. Frederick spent her life living on a farm until moving into Juneau 24 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, "Kenny" Frederick, Juneau; three children, Phyllis (David) Westphal, Reeseville, Arlene Weel, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mitch (Donna) Frederick, Markesan; eight grandchildren. Sonya Boyd, Darrel and Robert Weel, Angela Westphal, Abby, Adam, Austin, and Alicia Frederick; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Howie (Betty) Hoeft, Clyman; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one stillborn daughter.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 24, from 1 p.m. until the time of service, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Dennis R. Peters
JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. - Dennis R. Peters, 67, formerly of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at his home.

There was no funeral service.

Mr. Peters was a native of Goodrich. He was retired from the state of Kentucky as director of plant operations for Central State Hospital. He was a member of VFW 1170, the American Legion Post 244, the Eagles Club, and the Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Ky.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (nee Schroeder) Peters; two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Hynes, and Vicky Courchaine, three granddaughters, Jessie (Mark) Minnery, Jamie Hynes, and Courtney Hynes, all of Louisville, Ky.; his mother, Eloise Peters; one brother, Ron Peters, Beaver Dam; one sister, Joann Ulman, Omaha, Neb.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reinhold Peters.

The Owen Funeral Home, 9318 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, Ky., served the family.

Kenneth L. Clark
WAUPUN - Kenneth L. Clark, 63, of Waupun, died on Friday, March 22, 2002, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, March 25, at 7 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Moran will officiate, followed by a Waupun American Legion Post 210a military honor guard service.

Mr. Clark was born on Dec. 14, 1938, in Crystal Lake, the son of Wilfred and Angeline (Marshall) Clark. He was married on Jan. 27, 1962, to Sandra F. Gritzmacher in Waupun.

Mr. Clark entered the U.S. Armed Forces in 1957, having served in the Panama Canal Zone as a military policeman, and was discharged in November 1960. He was then employed with Carnation Can Co. (Siligan Containers) for 38 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun, and the Waupun American Legion Post 210. He loved going to his cabin, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Clark, Waupun; two daughters, Dawn (Cal) Loomans, and Carrie (Brian) Schouten, both of Waupun; one son, Kendall (Jackie) Clark, Waupun; five grandchildren, Tyler and Jenna Loomans, Amanda and Samantha Schouten, and Connor Clark, all of Waupun; one sister, Barbara (George) Giese, Waupun; two brothers, Robert Clark, Lansing, Mich., and Chuck Clark, Wild Rose; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Angeline, in 1982; his father, Wilfred, in 1992, and one brother, James.

Friends may call on Monday, March 25, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Mabel E. Perkins
JUNEAU - Mabel E. Perkins, 78, formerly of Hustisford, died on Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at 3 p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hustisford. Burial will be in Hustisford cemetery.

Miss Perkins was born on April 10, 1923, on the farm in Hustisford, the daughter of William H. and Hattie (Schwartz) Perkins.

Miss Perkins lived on the farm her whole life. She was a very talented artist who enjoyed painting with oils. She loved to garden and helped work the family farm.

Survivors include one brother, Glenn Perkins, Hustisford; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Helen A. Dobberpuhl
Helen A. Dobberpuhl, 88, formerly of Hustisford, and 9147 N. Bluemond Road, Mayville, died on Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m., at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa. The Rev. John Shep will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Theresa.

Mrs. Dobberpuhl was born on June 22, 1913, in the town of Herman, the daughter of Arthur and Lydia Steffan. She was married on Aug. 22, 1931, to Edwin O. Dobberpuhl.

Mrs. Dobberpuhl was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa, and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Beth (Thomas) Meicher, Madison; one son, Melvin Dobberpuhl, Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Milissha; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin, in 1991; one son, Willard, in 1993; three sisters, Aurelia, Betty, and Ruth, and two brothers, Lester and Ralph.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 30, from noon until the time of service at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Theresa.

Loraine E. Hankes
Loraine E. Hankes, 89, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 28, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Hankes was born on June 8, 1912, in Jefferson, the daughter of William and Julia (Mundshau) Freudensprung. She was married on Aug. 23, 1932, to Ralph G. Hankes in Jefferson.

Mrs. Hankes graduated from high school, then attended and graduated from Whitewater Normal School. She taught in the Jefferson grade schools and later was a substitute teacher at St. Peter's Grade School, Beaver Dam. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, where she was active in the Christian Mothers, and volunteered for many other church activities. She also enjoyed volunteering at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include four children, Diane (Charles) Poetter, Beaver Dam, Ronald (Diana) Hankes, Hales Corners, Robert (Cindy) Hankes, and Richard Hankes, both of Beaver Dam; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, in 1988; a son, Ralph R. Hankes, and an infant son, Donald J. Hankes; two sisters, Marie Boehm and Loretta Freudensprung, and one brother, Everett Freudensprung.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 27, from 4 to 6 p.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, and on Thursday, March 28, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Marvin H. Baerwald
Marvin H. Baerwald, 80, formerly of 104 Sloan Circle, Beaver Dam, went to his eternal home on Monday, March 25, 2002, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. John Brietwisch will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146.

Mr. Baerwald was born on April 17, 1921, in Clyman, to a large and happy family, the son of Emil and Flossie (Daubert) Baerwald Sr. He was married on July 1, 1944, to Helen Zickuhr at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Horicon.

Mr. Baerwald was a graduate of Horicon High School. He was employed for 30 years at John Deere Horicon Works, retiring in 1984. He and his wife enjoyed 57 years of marriage. He and his wife moved to Beaver Dam in 1964, and were charter members of the Beaver Dam Country Club, also known in the early years as Sunset Hills Country Club, and were active members for 35 years. In January 1951, he and his wife moved to Marshfield where they lived for 13 years. They purchased his uncle's bowling alley with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cook of Horicon, and together operated the bowling alley for five years. They then sold their interest in the bowling alley to the Cooks and purchased a nite-club known as the "Uptown" in Marshfield. After their daughter was born they returned to Beaver Dam and Marvin returned to John Deere. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 for over 30 years. He and his wife were charter members of Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and served in many capacities as officers and on many committees.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Baerwald, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Cathy Ann (Robert) Baerwald Young; sisters and brothers, Emil (Ione) Baerwald and their four daughters, Charles (Lorraine) Baerwald and their four children, Lila Baerwald (Mrs. Robert Bachhuber) and their two sons, Charlotte Baerwald, Phyllis Baerwald (Mrs. Chester Voigt) and son, the Rev Brett Voigt, his wife and their five children; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. James Baerwald and her three sons, Gertrude (Mrs. Adolph) Rosensprung and her son, Carl (Carol) Rosensprung; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lester Baerwald, James Baerwald, and Leroy Baerwald in infancy, and one sister, Dorothy Baerwald.

Friends may call on Friday, March 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Saturday, March 30, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
