Kevin C. Walsh
JUNEAU - Kevin Charles Walsh, 42, climbed out of his bed at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, Wednesday morning May 8, 2002, and walked up the pearly steps to heaven.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyman. The Rev. John Simon will officiate. Burial will be in St. Isadore Catholic cemetery, Clyman.

Mr. Walsh was born Feb. 15, 1960, in Watertown, the son of Dennis and Betty (Lillich) Walsh. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman, the Knights of Columbus and the Watertown Badgers 4-H Club. He shot pool for the Buffalo Inn in Watertown and was an avid Packer fan.

Mr. Walsh graduated from Watertown Senior High School in 1978. He had been employed for Provimi/Strauss Veal Feed Co. in Watertown.

Kevin was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis on Feb. 15, 1982. He attended two healing Masses in Boston, Mass., traveled to Germany for treatments, received plasma ferisis treatments at Froederdt Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa, hyperbaric chamber treatment at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee and attended MS support groups.

He entered Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau in July 1995. He received excellent care from all the staff and nurses and for that we will always hold you in our hearts with loving appreciation. Kevin was never a quitter and was always determined to walk again. He set high goals for himself, which made him a true inspiration to everyone he met. Even with 20 years of having the disease, he never complained or said anything negative. Kevin got through his disease because of his faith in the Lord and the loving support of his family and friends. He always looked forward to the visits from his Juneau crew and the Watertown "guys" where there would be nights of memories, laughter, love and the ultimate party. Blessings and many thanks for your unconditional friendship.

As Kevin would always tell us, "I wish you the best." And as we all know, now Kevin has the best.

Survivors include his parents Dennis and Betty Walsh, Clyman; one sister, Diane (Matt) Haseleu; three brothers, Dan (Evonne) Walsh, Brian (Carla) Walsh and Jeff (Margie) Walsh; his nephews, Travis (fiancee, Andrea Key), Jason, Jeremiah and Jack; nieces, Alissa, Katie, Emily, Meghan, Hannah and Courtney, his special friend Colleen Krause and his many faithful and supporting friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lillich, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Walsh; and a niece and nephew, Sadie Faith and Jacob Daniel Walsh.

Patsy E. Arms-Schaller
LAKE MILLS - Patsy E. Arms-Schaller, 62, Lake Mills, died on Thursday, May 9, 2002, at the Willowbrook Nursing Home, Lake Mills.

The funeral will be held Monday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Reeseville. The Rev. Lowell Holtz will officiate. Burial will be at the Trinity cemetery.

Mrs. Arms-Schaller was born April 5, 1940, in Crawford County, the daughter of Eldon and Helen (Hoefke) Arms. She was married to Kenneth Kidder in July 1958 in Milton. She married Leo Schaller on Sept. 15, 1995, in Lake Mills.

Mrs. Schaller was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Reeseville. She lived in Milton for more than 20 years, in the Dodge County area for many years and most recently in the Lake Mills area for seven years. She was a nursing assistant for many years. She took great joy in raising her children, and her children were her life.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Schaller, Lake Mills; four children, Kenneth (Annette) Kidder of Janesville, Helen (Paul) Harper of Richmond, Texas, Gregory Kidder of Janesville, Nancy (Billy) Godkin of Lake Mills; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one step grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons Jeffery and Donald; four brothers, Eldon, Michael, Julius and Justice (Jud); two sisters, Jane Silvers and Pearl Arms.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 12, at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville, from 3 to 6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Arrangements for the family were made by the Murray Funeral Home, Reeseville.

Lloyd G. (Dagwood) Bemis
Lloyd G. (Dagwood) Bemis, 78, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, May 9, 2002, of Alzheimer's Disease.

The funeral service will be on Monday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Mr. Bemis was born on Feb. 16, 1924, in the town of Chippewa Falls, the son of Fred and Falhide (Grotte) Bemis. He was married to Carmen Roedl on Jan. 26, 1946, in Hawthorne, Nev.

Mr. Bemis served his country, entering the Navy in December 1941 until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, American Legion Post 146, Beaver Dam, and was also a member of the Minemen Association while serving in the Navy and after his retirement from the Navy. He was the manager of Sunset Hills, Beaver Dam, and later Fox Lake Golf Club for five years.

Survivors include his wife, Carmen of Beaver Dam; his children, John (Peggy) Bemis of Beaver Dam, Lizabeth (Nooney) Guse of Columbus, and Joey Bemis of Daphnie, Ala.; mother-in-law, Dolores Roedl of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lowell and Larry Bemis; and his father-in-law, Edward Roedl.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. There will also be visitation on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.

Verna A. Giese
Verna A. Giese, 81, of Theresa, died Friday May 10, 2002 at her home. She was born May 16, 1920 in the town of Lomira, the daughter of Edward and Selma Maaske Musack.

On June 24, 1939 she married Fredrick L. Giese at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in the town of Lomira. Verna and Fred farmed for 40 years on Verna's homestead in the town of Lomira, enjoying their retirement years that followed in the home they built in Theresa. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, town of Lomira. Verna devoted her life to her Savior and her family. She will be remembered by the many keepsakes she crocheted and embroidered for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Fredrick; two daughters, Sandy (Ralph) Fink of Mayville, Shirley (Fred) Hafemann of Brownsville; six grandchildren, Christine (Rod) Kummer of Seminole, Fla., Randel (Lon) Fink of Muskego; Ronald Fink of Watertown, the Rev. Jeffrey (Laura) Bonack of Muskego Jennifer Bonack of Menomonee Falls Falls, and Julia Bonack of Milwaukee 11 great grandchildren; one sister Elfrieda (Harvey) Bogenschneider of Theresa and one sister-in-law Irene Giese of Milwaukee.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gordon and one granddaughter Charmaine.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Lomira with the Rev. Jeffrey Bonack officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13 at the church.

Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira is assisting the family.

Clarence H. Pieper
BURNETT - Clarence H. Pieper, 81, of Burnett, died on Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 13, at 4:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. The Rev. Floyd Gogolin will officiate. Burial will be in the North Burnett cemetery.

Mr. Pieper was born on Feb. 12, 1921 in Burnett, the son of Rudolph and Louise (Wendorf) Pieper. He was married to Viola E. (Borchardt Schmidt) on June 22, 1969 at St. John's Luterhan Church, Watertown.

He was a farmer in the township of Burnett, retiring in 1974. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and polka dancing.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Valene (Douglas) Schuenemann Sr. of Watertown, Charlotte (Larry) Schears of Waupun; a stepson Larry Schmidt of West Allis; and daughter-in-law Judith Schmidt of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, Douglas Schuenemann Jr., Craig Schuenemann, Renee Ludwig, Robin Schuenemann, Nathan Schears, Timothy Schears, Katie Schears and Christopher Schmidt; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife in February 2001; his parents; stepson Darrel Schmidt in 1995; brother Edward Pieper; and sister Esther Rutz.

Friends may call on Monday, May 13, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Anna "Ann" Mary Reider
BEAVER DAM - Anna Mary "Ann" Reider, 72, of W9334 Highway D, Beaver Dam, died On Friday, May 10, 2002, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. The Rev. Father Daniel Massie will officiate. Inurnment of her cremains will take place at a later date at St. Michael's Catholic cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Reider was born on Nov. 21, 1929 in Germany, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Rerndobler) Hack. She was married to Joseph "Jim" Reider on July 14, 1951 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Reider was a 1948 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. She was also a member of Family Motor Coach Association. She and her husband enjoyed camping and extensive traveling, especially in the United States. She was a sales associate at F.W. Woolworth and a sales associate for 27 years at JC Penney until her retirement in 1992.

Survivors include her husband, Jim. Beaver Dam; two daughters, Christine Ann (Larry) Reider Kaup of Fond du Lac and Karen S. (Chuck Bunts) Reider of Beaver Dam; son, James M. (Joyce) Reider of Beaver Dam; brother, Joseph John Hack of Park Falls; Three grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with a vigil service at 6:45 p.m. Also Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Memorials may be directed towards Beaver Dam Community Hospital Hospice Care. Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.

Darlyne Vick
RIO - Darlyne Vick, 54, of Rio, died on Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 1 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. C. Keith Epps will officiate. Burial will be in Otsego cemetery.

Mrs. Vick was born on June 4, 1947, in Highbridge, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Koch) Hoeppner. She was married on Oct. 19, 1968, to Warren J. Vick in Doylestown.

Mrs. Vick was employed at American Family Insurance for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Jonathan W. Vick, DeForest, and Keith B. (fiancee Tammy) Vick, Rio; four brothers, Art Hoeppner, Gary (Gloria) Hoeppner, both of Portage, Roger (Sharon) Hoeppner, and Donald (Lois) Hoeppner, both of Rio; three sisters, Carol (Harry) Heeres, Ingleside, Ill., Mary Lou (Howard) Borde, Rio, and Sandra Hoeppner, Pardeeville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Warren Vick, on Feb. 3, 1987.

Friends may call on Friday, May 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio, and on Saturday, May 18, from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.

Carl Lawrence Aalpoel
BRANDON - Carl Lawrence Aalpoel, 70, of Brandon, died on Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Mendota Mental Health Care, following a lengthy illness.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 20, at 2 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be in Wedges Prairie cemetery, town of Waupun.

Mr. Aalpoel was born on Feb. 12, 1932, in the town of Alto, the son of Carl and Mary (Flier) Aalpoel. He was married on Aug. 17, 1974, to Janet Lacourt at the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

Mr. Aalpoel was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He was formerly employed with Derksen Implement, Waupun. Lawrence loved to work on cars, and became a very good mechanic as well.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Aalpoel, Brandon; two sisters, Harriet Ter Beest, and Esther Sasada, both of Waupun; one sister-in-law, LaVern Aalpoel, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Aalpoel; one sister, Elizabeth Wiersma, and two brothers-in-law, Gordon Ter Beest and Carl Sasada.

Friends may call on Monday, May 20, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun.

Margaret D. Ganske
Margaret Daisy Ganske, of rural Beaver Dam, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m., at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Ganske was born on March 1, 1915, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Max and Julia (Henning) Kraemer. She was married on March 12, 1938, to Wallace M. Ganske in Burnett.

Mrs. Ganske was a 1934 graduate of Waupun High School, and a town of Trenton resident since 1938. She was an active member of First Ev. Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide, and an honorable member of the Ladies Aide. She was active in 4-H projects when her children were young and her baked beans were legendary. She was a seasonal employee of Green Giant, Beaver Dam for more than 20 years. She was a true friend and mentor to many people.

Survivors include three sons, John (Audrey) Ganske, James Ganske, and W. Kent (Julie) Ganske; eight grandchildren, Pam, Denise, Lisa, Jill, Sheri, Kristopher, Janelle and Kalyn; eight wonderful great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Moule, Burnett; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace Ganske, in 1966; one brother, Earl Kraemer; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Hazel H. Schumacher
MAYVILLE - Hazel H. Schumacher, 90, of 1439 Dayton St., Mayville, died on Thursday, May 23, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28, at 3 p.m., at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. The Dr. Scott McMurray will officiate. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Fond du Lac.

Ms. Schumacher was born on Aug. 26, 1911, in Dodge County, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Scherschel) Hampton.

Ms. Schumacher was a 1929 graduate of Juneau High School. She was employed with Merwin Clothing Store, Fond du Lac. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lomira.

Survivors include her children, Gerald (Helen) Schumacher, Las Vegas, Nev., David (Diane) Schumacher, Germantown, and Betty (Dennis) Guelig, Theresa; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Fond du Lac.

Memorials may be made to Wisconsin Council of the Blind.
