Robert C. Pinkerton
WAUPUN - Robert C. Pinkerton, 96, of 819 Wilcox St., Waupun, formerly of Ladoga, died on Sunday, March 31, 2002, at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center, Waupun.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon. The Rev. Ronald Van Der Werff will officiate. Burial will be in Wedges Prairie, town of Waupun.

Mr. Pinkerton was born on Aug. 18, 1905, in Ladoga, the son of Robert and Susan (Fairbanks) Pinkerton Sr. He was married in 1934, to Alice Kettler. He was later married in May 1980, to Gladys Kettler Bronkhorst.

Mr. Pinkerton was a June 10, 1923, graduate of Waupun High School, then attended the University of Madison School of Agriculture for two years. He farmed in the Ladoga area most of his life. After retirement, he was employed with TV Building and Supply, Brandon. He was a former member of the Ladoga United Methodist Church and a member of the church board. He was most recently a member of Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon. He was past master of the Rising Sun Grange of Ladoga, past master of the Fond du Lac County Pomona Grange, and past overseer of the Wisconsin State Grange. He was a member of the School Board of West Brick and Amity Schools. He was an avid card player and loved to read.

Survivors include one son, James (Carol Jean) Pinkerton, Canon City, Colo.; one daughter, Mary (Orrin) Nummerdor, Waupun; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Earl (Betty) Kettler, Oakfield; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alice, on Oct. 3, 1955; second wife, Gladys, on March 21, 1987; one granddaughter, Pam Nummerdor, in 1991, and two sisters, Jennie Williams, in 1964, and Marica Braatz, in 1992.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 3, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a service of remembrance by the Rising Sun Grange at 7:30 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, April 4, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon.

Leon P. Krapfl
THERESA - Leon P. Krapfl, 63, of 401 Kelly Drive, Theresa, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lomira. The Revs. Vincent Holubowicz and Robert Berghammer will officiate. Burial will be on St. Mary cemetery, Lomira.

Mr. Krapfl was born on June 30, 1938, in LeRoy, the son of Peter and Agnes (Feucht) Krapfl. He was married on Aug. 6, 1960, to Kathleen Fitzpatrick at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lomira.

Mr. Krapfl was a 1956 graduate of Mayville High School. He retired from Gleason Reel, Mayville.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Krapfl, Theresa; three children, Jeff (Mary) Krapfl, Fond du Lac, Julie (Bill) McDonald, Madison, and Gary (Jeanine) Krapfl, Mount Clemens, Mich.; his mother, Agnes Krapfl, Juneau; two sisters, Elaine (Richard) Hoffman, Juneau, and Diane (Daniel) Gremminger, Mayville; one brother-in-law, Michael (Sue) Fitzpatrick, Chilton; five grandchildren, Leah, Kristen, Lindsay, Catherine, and Taylor; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter; one sister, Marilyn Gassner; father- and mother-in-law, Patrick and Eleanor Fitzpatrick, and a brother- and sister-in-law, Patrick and Helen Fitzpatrick.

Friends may call on Monday, April 1, from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lomira.

Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Hospice Hope.

Coba VandeBerg
Coba VandeBerg, 95, formerly of Waupun, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Harold Goldzung will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mrs. VandeBerg was born on Dec. 3, 1906, in Alto, the daughter of Willem and Jane (Broadway) Hull. She was married on Sept. 11, 1930, to Harrison VandeBerg in Waupun.

Mrs. VandeBerg and her husband lived in Waupun all their married life. She was a charter member of the Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun. She was dedicated to her church, her husband's business and especially her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Perusse, Beaver Dam, Virginia (John) Hazouri, Gainesville, Fla., and Marcia (Jerry) Rechek, Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison, in 1984; six brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call on Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun.

Memorials may be made to the Youth Ministries of Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun.

The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.

Darian M. Bastian
Darian Michael Bastian, six and one-half months old, died on Saturday, April 6, 2002.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Rae Ann Bloomquist will officiate.

Infant Bastian was born on Sept. 11, 2001, in Abilene, Texas, the son of Michael and Shanne (Brawley) Bastian.

Infant Bastian's smile and laughter warmed everyone's heart.

Survivors include his parents, Michael and Shanna Bastian, Waupun; one brother, Tanner Brawley, Waupun; paternal grandparents, Dennis (Deb Giese) Bastian, Waupun, Donna Bastian, Beaver Dam, and Kitty Richter, Waupun; maternal grandparents, Michael Dixon, Leander, Texas, and Melissa Martin, Abilene, Texas; two aunts, Jen Bastian, Ohio, and Christina Price, Killeen, Texas; four uncles, Chad (Nikki) Bastian, Dusty Bastian, both of Waupun, Jason Brawley, Mississippi, and Cody Dixon, Abilene, Texas; one great-aunt, Cindy Stidham, Abilene, Texas; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one uncle, Jason Richter; paternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Shirley Brabbit; maternal great-grandfather, Melvin Williams, and one cousin, Damien Donald.

Friends may call on Monday, April 8, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Laura L. Burchardt

JUNEAU - Laura L. Burchardt, 97, formerly of Beaver Dam, was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Juneau.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery.

Mrs. Burchardt was born on Feb. 22, 1905, in Mayville, the daughter of Edward and Maria (Rohrschneider) Manthey. She was married on Feb. 29, 1924, to John A. Burchardt.

Mrs. Burchardt and her husband lived and worked in Beaver Dam, prior to moving to the Milwaukee area. They later returned to Beaver Dam, where she worked and retired from the Green Giant Corp. She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially baking. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include one son-in-law, Grant Sloniker; one grandson, Dennis L. Sloniker; two great-grandchildren, Danielle Richardson and Petrina Sloniker; two great-great-granddaughters, Brandon and Savannah Sloniker; one brother, Lawrence (Eugenia) Manthey; three sisters-in-law Mary Manthey, Margaret Manthey, and Eleanor Deglow; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 1972; and one daughter, Beatrice G. Sloniker, in 1995, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. until the closing service at 10:30 a.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, then to St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam for Mass at 11 a.m.

Dorothy M. Paul

Dorothy M. Paul, 79, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 8, at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bitler will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Paul was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Fox Lake, the daughter of August and Mable (Henning) Lindert. She was married on June 8, 1947, to Willard Paul in Reeseville.

Mrs. Paul worked as an office manager for JCPenney Company, Beaver Dam, for over 14 years. She then worked as a cashier for Beaver Dam Community Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her husband, Willard Paul, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Marlis (Russel) Schmidt, Columbus; one son, Michael (Debbra) Paul, Fort Atkinson; four grandchildren, Jennifer Brendemihl, Tammy (Robin) Lins, Christopher (Sharon) Paul, and Travis Paul; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph, Alexis, Benjamin, Kourtnea, and Diseree; one sister, Muriel Nehring, Columbus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Marjorie Froehlich.

Friends may call on Sunday, April 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Monday, April 8, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Merlin C. Frank
HORICON - Merlin "Oggie" C. Frank, 75, of Horicon, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m., at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon. The Rev. Dennis Sundell will officiate. Burial will be on Monday, April 8, in Oakhill cemetery, Horicon. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post 157.

Mr. Merlin was born on Feb. 21, 1927, in Horicon, the son of Harold and Hertha (Nack) Frank.

Mr. Frank served in World War II in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a lifelong resident of Horicon, retiring from John Deere Horicon Works after 34 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon, and the Horicon American Legion Post 157. He was a longtime member of the Horicon Rod and Gun Club, serving as treasurer for over 27 years.

Survivors include one sister, Delores (Charles) Johns, Minoqua; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Sunday, April 7, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon.

Memorials may be made to the St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church "A Time to Build" fund.

Violet H. Lehr
FOND DU LAC - Violet Hattie Lehr, 88, of Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at the St. Francis Home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m., at Community Church, 609 Thomas St., Fond du lac. The Rev. Ken Nabi will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 3 p.m., at St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church cemetery, Iron Ridge.

Mrs. Lehr was born on July 6, 1913, in Sheboygan, the daughter of Henry and Meta (Abraham) Leicht. She was married on May 7, 1938, to Ernst Lehr in Juneau.

Mrs. Lehr attended Community Church, Fond du Lac.

Survivors include three sons, Victor (Diane) Lehr, Horicon, Ernie (Joan) Lehr, Fond du Lac, and Dennis Lehr, Hartford; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernst, and one granddaughter, Carol Cleveland.

Friends may call on Saturday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Community Church, Fond du Lac.

A memorial is being established.

Elizabeth A. Rognstad
Elizabeth A. Rognstad, 21, of 404 Carroll St., Beaver Dam, died on Monday, April 1, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital, after a courageous battle with a brief illness of cancer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in All Saints cemetery, Kenosha.

Miss Rognstad was born on Feb. 27, 1981, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Brian and Maria (Zarletti) Rognstad.

Miss Rognstad was a 1999 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was an active member of the Beaver Dam High School Band, including the BDHS Marching Band. She was a member of the BDHS Swim Team, and the YMCA Swim Team. She was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was attending Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, with hopes and dreams of becoming a graphic designer. She had a very creative mind when it came to drawing, bringing magic onto a simple piece of paper. She also brought a lot of magic into the hearts of those around her. She will be missed by all.

Survivors include her parents, Maria Rognstad and Brian Rognstad, both of Beaver Dam; one sister, Christina (fiance Randy Beck) Rognstad, Green Bay, boyfriend, Charles Mohls, Cold Spring, Minn.; maternal grandparents Rudy and Martha Zarletti, Kenosha; paternal grandparents, Donald and Ardis Rognstad, Kenosha; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 4, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Friday, April 5, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., the time of committal, in the Chapel of All Saints cemetery, Kenosha.

Memorials may be made to a scholarship fund which will be established in Elizabeth's name.

Mary L. Krajewski
Mary "Mother Mary" L. Krajewski, 59, of 814 Birchwood Drive, Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Krajewski was born on Jan. 26, 1943, in La Crosse, the daughter of Albert and Louise (Redsek) Jamesson. She was married on Sept. 14, 1963, to Richard J. Krajewski in La Crosse.

Mrs. Krajewski was a graduate of La Crosse Central High School. She was employed with ShopKo for 28 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include her husband, Richard J. Krajewski, Beaver Dam; three daughters, Echo (Scott) Klumpers, Waukee, Iowa, Angela (Edward) Buss, Randolph, and Cynthia (Joe) Munro, Beaver Dam; three brothers, Donald (Mary) Jamesson, Hokah, Minn., John (Judy) Jamesson, Holmen, and James (Karen) Jamesson, La Crosse; two sisters, Lorraine (Vic) Snider, La Crosse, and Delores (Robert) Roller, Arkdale; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Kenneth and Gordon.
