Esther J. Boyke
FOND DU LAC Ð Esther J. Boyke, 87, formerly of N5510 Highway V, and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, died on Friday, June 28, 2002, at the home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 2, at 10 a.m., at Salem United Methodist Church, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Barry Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.

Mrs. Boyke was born on Nov. 5, 1914, in the town of Oseola, the daughter of August Giese and Marie Behlert. She was married on Sept. 6, 1938, to Arthur W. Boyke in Campbellsport.

Mrs. Boyke and her husband were lifelong Fond du Lac County farmers. She was a PTA president at Blaine School, a member of Salem United Methodist Church for over 40 years, a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday school for many years, and was a 4-H club leader. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and reading. She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Carl (Viola) Boyke, Columbus, and James (Ann) Boyke, Ramsey, Minn.; one daughter, Mary (Elmer) Cords, Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, David (Sue) Boyke, Jerry Boyke, Shaun Boyke, Brian (MaryJo) Highland, Michelle (Cale) Anderson, Kevin Cords, Jason Cords, and Bradley Cords; four great-grandchildren, Kian Highland, Sadie Boyke, Meghan Boyke, and Gary Boyke; four sisters-in-law, Mary Giese, Fond du Lac, Dorothy Sabel, Belvidere, Ill., Betty Giese, Fond du Lac, and Mildred (Elmer) Wohler, town of Eldorado; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Boyke; two brothers, Donald and Melvin; one sister, Senta; two infant sisters; three brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
Friends may call on Monday, July 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, and on Tuesday, July 2, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Salem United methodist Church, Fond du Lac.

Harvey Cupery
WAUPUN - Harvey Cupery, 67, of Waupun, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at his home with his family by his side.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mr. Cupery was born on May 7, 1935, in Randolph, the son of Ben and Jennie (Tobak) Cupery. He was married on Sept. 5, 1957, to Helen Klumpers at the Alto Reformed Church.

Mr. Cupery was a lifelong area resident, and was owner and operator of Cupery Custom Cleaning, which he owned for 24 years. He was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going fishing when he could.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Helen Cupery, Waupun; four children, Valerie (James) Youngs, Barry (Linda) Cupery, both of Waupun, Gail (Kevin) Harmsen, Fairwater, and Todd (Heidi) Cupery, Waupun; five grandchildren, Nathan and Kaitlin Youngs, Brooke and Joshua Harmsen, and Shelli Cupery; one brother, Darvin (Winifred) Cupery, Randolph; two sisters, Joan (Albertus) Mulder, Brandon, and Beverly (Eugene) O'Brion, Fall River; one sister-in-law, Marion (Arnold) Tolsma, Fox Lake; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Jessie) Klumpers, and Alton (Marilyn) Klumpers, both of Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Kelly Cupery, in 1988; his parents; twin sisters, and one nephew, Eric O'Brion.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Wednesday, July 10, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

A memorial fund is being established in Harvey's name.

Roy H. Schmidt
WAUPUN - Roy H. Schmidt, 96, of Waupun, died on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 11 a.m., at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun. The Rev. Kenneth Spence will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mr. Schmidt was born on April 12, 1906, in Randolph, the son of Henry and Millie (Manthey) Schmidt. He was married on June 26, 1948, to Annetta Cords.

Mr. Schmidt was a lifelong area resident. He farmed in the Waupun area for several years before he was employed with the Ideal Shoe Co., (Weyenberg Shoe Co.), Waupun. Following retirement he was an attendant at Waupun Laundry on Brandon Street. He was also the caretaker for Cattaraugus cemetery for 15 years. He was a longtime member of Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun.

Survivors include one son, Mark (Lori) Schmidt, Waupun; three grandchildren, Teresa, Jennifer, and Joshua Schmidt; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Cords, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annetta, on Sept. 17, 1998; his parents; three brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call on Monday, July 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Tuesday, July 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Pella Lutheran Church, Waupun.

A memorial fund is being established in Roy's name.

Fleurette Soderman
MAYVILLE - Fleurette "Flo" Soderman, 63, of 120 Riverview Heights, Mayville, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at her home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 6, at noon, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Mayville.

Mrs. Soderman was born on Dec. 19, 1938, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Roman and Lucille (Ulezelski) Prodoehl. She was married on Aug. 22, 1964, to Jon H. Soderman in Greenfield.

Mrs. Soderman was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville, the Fond du Lac Harley Owner Group (HOG), and taught CCD at St. Mary's.

Survivors include her husband, Jon Soderman, Mayville; four children, Donald (Amy) Soderman, Oregon, Karen (Gary) Ruona, Grafton, Vicki Soderman, Torrance, Calif, and Susan (Mark) Romanowski, Mayville; one brother, Ronald (Pat) Prodoehl, Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Travis, Alex, Rachel, Timothy, Jacob, Derek, and Jillian; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Saturday, July 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Kenneth W. Pritchard Sr.
RANDOLPH - Kenneth W. Pritchard Sr., 76, of rural Randolph, died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at Columbus Community Hospital, as the result of complications from lung disease.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m., at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Randolph. Commission Lay Pastor Linda Heisler will officiate. Burial will be in Cambria cemetery. Immediately following the burial, a fellowship luncheon will be served at the Randolph Village Hall Community Room.

Mr. Pritchard was born on June 23, 1926, in the town of Courtland, the son of William Roy and Lillian (Roberts) Pritchard. He was married on Oct. 20, 1950, to Theresa "Teddy" Grace Vander Meulen.

Mr. Pritchard was a lifelong resident of the town of Courtland and farmed three family Century Farm homesteads from 1950 to 1996. The original homestead was established by his great-grandfather, W.W. Pritchard, who immigrated from Wales. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Randolph, where he was a member. He attended the one-room country Jess School through fourth grade and was a 1945 graduate of Randolph High School. He lettered for four years from 1942 to 1945 on the Randolph Varsity Basketball Team, and played the saxophone and sousaphone in the Randolph High School Band. He served in the U.S. Army as a telegrapher with the 13th Field Artillery Battalion with the American Occupation Forces in Hakata, Japan, from 1946 to 1947. He was an avid hunter, and was especially proud of the trophy buck he bagged in Northern Wisconsin. He and his wife traveled extensively including trips to Cuba, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Saipan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, North America and the Caribbean. A successful dairy and crop farmer, friends joked how he could grow peas on blacktop. After semi-retirement from dairy farming, he was a district supervisor for Jacques Seed Corn. When he discontinued his crop farming operations, which encompassed 1,700 acres, he began collecting antique tractors with his longtime friend, the late Frank Vander Veen. He was a lifetime member of the FFA Alumni, a recent member of the State American Legion, and a past member of the Wisconsin Horse Racing Association, where in his earlier years, he enjoyed his racing days with Bill and Deb Becker.

He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Theresa "Teddy" Pritchard, rural Randolph; one daughter, Patricia (Michael) Jung, Cambria; three sons, Thomas (Vilma) Pritchard, Kenneth W. Pritchard Jr., both of Cambria, and Timothy (Amy Weber) Pritchard, Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Galadriel, Michelle, Benjamin and Amber Jung, and Serena Grace and Aaron Thomas Pritchard; his special dog, Olive Jung; one brother, Dr. W.R. (Deanna) Pritchard, Davis, Calif.; two sisters, Kathryn (Clayton) Randorf, Hancock, and Carolyn Pritchard, Cambria; five sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Garret) Wiersma, and JoAnne (Henry) Vander Galien, both of Randolph, Dorothy (Russell) Hall, Middleville, Mich., Annette (Doug) Henker, Brandon, and Ruth (Roger) Steinhorst, Randolph; one brother-in-law, Rudy (Joell) Sennhenn, Columbus; relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Pritchard, on Nov. 4. 1982; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Jeanette (Fennema) Vander Meulen, and one sister-in-law, Wilda (Vander Meulen) Sennhenn.

Friends may call on Friday, July 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, and on Saturday, July 6, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Randolph.

Memorials may be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Friends may call on Friday, July 5, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Linda Schlefke
Linda Schlefke, 85, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Schlefke was born on Feb. 19, 1917, in LeRoy, the daughter of Robert and Emily (Weinberger) Bonack. She was married on Oct. 9, 1937, to Edgar Schlefke. She was later married on Aug. 5, 1995, to Clarence Schmidt in Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Schlefke worked at the St. Vincent de Paul store, Beaver Dam, for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, and the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Fox Lake Country Club.

Survivors include one son, Lee E. (Peggy) Schlefke, Beaver Dam; three daughters, Lois (Jerry Bell) Kruel, Beaver Dam, Lila (Richard) Feggestad, Hudson, and Lonie (Alan Mills) Schlefke, Fox Lake; five stepchildren, Carl (Terri) Schmidt, Sharon Schmidt, both of Racine, Glenn Schmidt, Fond du Lac, Gayle (Robert) Braun, Hancock, and Mary Jo (Robert) Schustedt, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Helen) Bonack, Mayville, and Alvin (Ann) Bonack, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edgar Schlefke, on April 24, 1983; her second husband, Clarence Schmidt, on Oct. 7, 1997; one daughter in infancy, Donna; one sister, Lavina Schabel, and three brothers, Robert, Edgar, and Oscar Bonack.

Christian J.C. Schultz
Christian Julius Carl Schultz, 86, of Stone Street, Beaver Dam, and Daytona Beach Shores, Fla., died on Friday, June 28, 2002, in Daytona Beach Shores, Fla.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bode will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mr. Schultz was born on Sept. 14, 1915, in Columbus, the son of Christian and Emma (Backhaus) Schultz. He was married on Nov. 14, 1942, to Ethelyn Krueger at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Schultz was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. He was a farmer and worked at the DNR in Horicon until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed purchasing and selling properties.

Survivors include eight children, Lorna Schultz, Beaver Dam, Carl (Caryn) Schultz, Columbus, Ronald (Judy) Schultz, Waterloo, Karen (Tom) Senn, Jacksonville, Fla., Roger Schultz, Beaver Dam, Vernon (Brenda) Schultz, Betty (LeRoy) Dieckhoff, both of Fall River, and Harvey (Bonnie) Schultz, North Carolina; one sister, Marion Radtke, Beaver Dam; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ethelyn, on March 21, 1965; two sons, Fredrick, and Steven; two brothers, and one sister.

Friends may call on Friday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Saturday, July 6, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Walter W. Czoschke
MARKESAN - Walter "Wally" W. Czoschke, 72, of Markesan, died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m., at the Wachholz Family Funeral Home, Markesan. The Rev. Rom Pegram will officiate. Burial will be on Sunday, July 7, at 2 p.m., in Grandview cemetery.

Mr. Czoschke was born on Nov. 22, 1929, in Knowles, the son of Walter and Laura (Franke) Czoschke. He was married on Oct. 2, 1971 to Beverly J. Skelton in Farmersville.

Mr. Czoschke served in the U.S. Army from May 1951 to Oct. 23, 1956. He had been employed as a driller, a plumber for Culligan, and PMI, retiring in 1992. He and his wife became area residents in 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Czoschke, Markesan; three daughters, Carol (friend John) Brelow, Lake Mills, Karen (Nick) Sorgent, Mayville, and Bonnie (Ron) Guse, Milwaukee; nine stepchildren; Sandra (Steve) Wiersma, Marquette, John (Nancy) Trakel, Mayville, Mark (Carol) Rach, Horicon, Willard (Mary) Trakel, Cascade, Kim (Dennis) Welak, Mayville, Bryan Rach, Milwaukee, Charles (Danna) Trakel, Washington, Donna (fiance Bill Silgman) Trakel, Markesan, Scott (Jean) Trakel, Cascade; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Armond.

Lorraine H. Uecker
HUSTISFORD - Lorraine H. Uecker, 75, died on Sunday, June 30, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 6 p.m., at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustisford. The Rev. Timothy W. Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in Hustisford cemetery.

Mrs. Uecker was born on Oct. 4, 1926, in Hustisford, the daughter of Emil and Martha (Baerwald) Schwantes. She was married on Aug. 7, 1948, to Eugene Uecker at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustisford.

Mrs. Uecker worked behind the soda counter at Zuelsdorf's Drug Store, Hustisford, in her early years. Later she was employed with Badger Mills as a floor supervisor, then as a cook at Hustisford Senior Home. She was a member of Bethany's Ladies Aid, The Woman Club, The Bridge Club, and the 500 Card Club. She was a lifetime member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustisford.

Survivors include her dear and loving husband, Eugene Uecker, Hustisford; her loving children, Richard (Sandra) Uecker, Hustisford, Larry (Barbara) Uecker, Neosho, Dennis (Carol) Uecker, Juneau, Mark (Anne) Uecker, St. Francis, and Lori Uecker, Hustisford; her precious grandchildren, Staci (Tim) Metz, Hustisford, Tom (Shalyn) Uecker, Highland, Derrick (Laurie) Uecker, Juneau; Annie Uecker, Mary Uecker, both of Neosho; Faith Uecker, Hustisford, Ashley Uecker, Juneau, and Anna Uecker, St. Francis; two great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Jared Metz; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.

Caroline D. Bergauer
Caroline D. Bergauer, of Beaver Dam, died on her 83rd birthday, Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Bergauer was born on June 30, 1919, in Trusdell, the daughter of Joseph and Angeline (Anek) Garski. She was married on Nov. 14, 1939, to Reuben Bergauer in Columbus.

Mrs. Bergauer's family moved to California when she was 2-years-old for a two-year period before returning to the Racine area. They then moved to Rosholt when she was seven. In 1944, she and her husband moved to Beaver Dam. She worked as a cook for various schools in the Beaver Dam School District. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include two daughters, Lana (Howard) Louden, Horicon, and Sandra Stanfield, Beaver Dam; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Cyril Garski, Racine; one sister-in-law, Esther Bergauer, Columbus; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reuben Bergauer; three brothers, and four sisters.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 3, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.
