Werner K. Kaczor
WATERTOWN - Werner K. Kaczor, 80, of 521 N. Montgomery St., Watertown, died on Monday, July 29, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown. The Rev. Karl Walther will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery, Watertown.

Mr. Kaczor was born on Dec. 21, 1921, in Rhizon, Germany, the son of Albert C. and Emma (Kuschel) Kaczor. He was married on July 11, 1942, to Evelyn Brennecke at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Mr. Kaczor was employed with Lindberg, Watertown, since May 19, 1985, and retired on Dec. 31, 1986. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a lifetime member of the Richwood VFW Post 7852.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Kaczor, Watertown; two sons, Randy (Susan) Kaczor, Juneau, and Eugene (Cathy) Kaczor, Watertown; seven grandchildren, Amy Loukota, Troy Kaczor, Brian Kaczor, Julie Jacob, Curtis Kaczor, David Kaczor, and Jason Kaczor; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Loukota, James Kaczor, Travis Kaczor, Kayla Jacob, and Dylan Jacob; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dale Kaczor, on Dec. 9, 2001; one grandson, Brent Kaczor; one brother, Heinz Kaczor; one sister, Gertrude Fredrich, and one daughter-in-law, LaVerne Kaczor.

Friends may call on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, and on Friday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Alfred H. Eggen
CAMBRIA - Alfred H. Eggen, 85, of Cambria, died on Saturday, July 27, 2002, at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m., at the shop garage at Enerson and Eggen Inc., N7490 State Road 146, just north of Cambria.

Mr. Eggen was born on June 28, 1917, in Sherwood, the son of John and Grace (Sanders) Eggen. He was married on Sept. 30, 1940, to Claire Enerson in Elkhart, Iowa.

Mr. Eggen served in the AAF from 1940 to 1945, as a radio operator and mechanic, and participated in 10 combat missions in the European Theatre. In 1947, he moved his family to Cambria, opening a farm machinery and repair shop with his brother-in-law, Clifford Enerson, Enerson & Eggen Imp., serving the agricultural community in the surrounding area for 55 years. He was well known among farmers for his general good humor and quick wit. He continued working fulltime, and Saturday, July 27, was his last day on the job. He appreciated the support of loyal, longtime employees such as Eldon Kuhn, Lawrence Olson, Mark Jacob and others. He had been a member of the Rio Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1969. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the friends he had made through business relationships that he developed over the years, but most of all, the time he spent with his family. His grandchildren adored him as he had a special way with children.

He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Claire Eggen, Cambria; his children, Madelyn Phillips, San Diego, Calif., Jackie (Ken) Miller, Cambria, Deanna (Phil) Magdich, Fairfield Glades, Tenn., Linda (Dave) Shelton, Cambria, Craig (Debbie) Eggen, Rio; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard (Connie) Eggen, Florida; two sisters, Lucille McDonald, Pittsville, and Annette (Carl) Boettger, Florida; many relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, James Phillips; two brothers, Kenneth and Leo Eggen, and one brother-in-law, Ottle McDonald

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, is serving the family.

Orlie C. Gietzel

ELDORADO - Orlie C. Gietzel, 78, of Eldorado, died on Friday, May 31, 2002, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 11 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Kevin Schuller will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Mr. Gietzel was born on Dec. 12, 1923, the son of Albert and Mabel (Wendt) Gietzel. He was married on Dec. 27, 1947, to Myrt H. Carrier in Brandon.

Mr. Gietzel and his wife lived in the Brandon area before moving to Waupun, where they lived most of their married life. After retiring they moved north of Eldorado. He ran the Cities Service Station, Waupun, during the name change to Citgo. After selling the station he worked at Mercury Marine, King Manufacturing and later at John Deere, from where he retired. He was involved in stock car racing, in the early days with the car No. 1A racing at Oakfield, later with model racing No. 67 at Columbus, Beaver Dam and other tracks in the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, darts, shooting pool, playing cards, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughter, Sherry (Chuck) Haase, Brandon; one son, Rick, (Sandy) Gietzel, Van Dyne; five grandchildren, Stacy (Troy) Holzman, Waupun, Mike (special friend Judy Makowski) Haase, Brandon, Sarah, Dan and Matt Gietzel, Van Dyne; two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Kayle Holzman, Waupun; nephews, Randy, Ryan, and Ross Gietzel, Burlington; cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrt Gietzel, in April 1990; his parents; his brother, Lawrence; one sister-in-law, Caroline; one nephew, Larry "Sonny" Jr.; mother- and father-in-law, Myrtle (Gilbert) Carrier, and one uncle, Rudy Alfred Wendt.

Friends may call on Monday, June 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Tuesday, June 4, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, Fond du Lac.

Curtis T. Hochstatter

COLUMBUS - Curtis "Curt" T. Hochstatter, 86, of the town of Calamus, died on Friday, May 31, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. The Rev. Bruce Hennington will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jerome cemetery, Columbus.

Mr. Hochstatter was born on Jan. 18, 1916, in Mendota, Ill., the son of Benjamin and Mary (Granfield) Hochstatter. He was married on June 8, 1943, to Evelyn Didier in Mendota, Ill.

Mr. Hochstatter was a lifelong farmer in the Mendota, Ill., area until 1966, when the family moved to Columbus, where he continued farming. He was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus, and a former member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Peterstown/Mendota Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Hochstatter, Columbus; three daughters, Donna (Terrance) Deal, Oconomowoc, Linda Hochstatter, Madison, and Janine (Blaine) Waddell, Columbus; three sons, Thomas Hochstatter, Milwaukee, Michael (Barbara) Hochstatter, Buffalo, N.Y., and Cary (Brenda) Hochstatter, Columbus; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Bernice Killelea, Ottawa, Ill., Lorraine Henkel, Mendota, Ill., Marilynn McInerney, Oak Forest, Ill., Celest (James) Schmitt, Mendota, Ill., Patricia Love, Dixon, Ill., and Jeanne Hochstatter, Milwaukee; three brothers, Martin Hochstatter, Paul (Mary Rita) Hochstatter, both of Mendota, Ill., and LaVerne (Doris) Hochstatter, Ladd, Ill.; cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kent, in 1974, and six brothers, Benjamin, Wilmer, Harold, John, Gregory, Norbert and one in infancy.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:45 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Monday, from 10 a.m until the time of service at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus.

Gertrude Mullin
FOX LAKE - Gertrude Mullin, 90, of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. David Nottling will officiate. Burial will be in Annunciation Parish cemetery, town of Trenton.

Mrs. Mullin was born on Dec. 29, 1911, in Rib Lake, the fourth child of 10, to William and Hulda (Klausch) Jonas. She was married in 1936 to William L. Mullin in Fox Lake.

Mrs. Mullin's family moved to the Cambria area in 1920, where she attended Healy Country School. In 1946, she and her husband moved onto the family farm where they farmed until their retirement in 1962, and moved back to Fox Lake, where she resided since. She was employed in the research lab of Green Giant Canning Co., Fox Lake, for 26 years. She was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 521, past member of the Fox Lake Women's Club, the HOA Club, and the Stitch and Chatter Club. She volunteered for many years for American Red Cross blood drives in Fox Lake, serving on the kitchen committee. She was a devoted member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake, its Ladies Aid, the Missionary Society and World Missions.

She will be sadly missed and mourned by one son, William (Barbara) Mullin, Fox Lake; one daughter, Elaine (Duane) Neitzel, Madison; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; two sisters, Elsie Zeman, Manitowoc, and Anna Manthey, Pardeeville; two brothers, William (Lorraine) Jonas, Pewaukee, and Melvin (Elizabeth) Jonas, Fox Lake; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Jonas, Fox Lake, and Melba Jonas, Portage; nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William, on May 13, 1965; one sister, Ella Davis, and four brothers, Erhardt, Walter, Harvey and Marvin.

Friends may call on Monday, June 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, and on Tuesday, June 4, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake.

Emma Schultz
JUNEAU - Emma Schultz, 88, of Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau, formerly of 504 Louise Lane, Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at the nursing home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 3 p.m., at St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Rae Ann Bloomquist will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Schultz was born on June 1, 1914, in the town of Hubbard, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Buss) Knueppel. She was married on June 5, 1937, to Alvin Schultz at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Horicon.

Mrs. Schultz was employed with the Green Giant Canning Factory in wet packing and final inspection. She was a member of St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, where she was active in the Mary Martha Circle. She was also active in the Senior Center Bowling League.

Survivors include one sister, Helena Tietz, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; one daughter, Bonnie, one son in infancy, Dale, and five brothers, Albert, Walter, William, Frank and Edward.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 5, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. John's English Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Harland R. Bogenschneider
Harland R. Bogenschneider, 80, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, May 31, 2002, at Clearview, Juneau.

The funeral was held on Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bitler officiated. Burial was in North Burnett cemetery.

Mr. Bogenschneider was born on Dec. 31, 1921, in Dodge County, the son of Otto and Minnie (Siegmann) Bogenschneider. He was married on May 27, 1944, to Marion Milbrot in Kekoskee.

Mr. Bogenschneider farmed in the Mayville area until 1968. He then moved to Beaver Dam and worked at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, of which he was a choir member. He was also a member of the Men's Club and other church organizations. He was the past president of AARP and a member of the Roamers Club. He was an avid gardener, card player and fisherman.

Survivors include two sons, Paul (Linda) Bogenschneider, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Larry Bogenschneider, Waupun; one daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Schweiger, Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Cheryl (Rob) Andrel, Hermitage, Tenn., Daniel Bogenschneider, Hendersonville, Tenn., Kimberly Schweiger, Colorado Springs, Colo., Adam Schweiger, and Marc Schweiger, both of Fond du Lac; one sister, Esther (Art) Hartwig, Lady Lake, Fla., and Fox Lake; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion Bogenschneider, in 1996; one son, David Bogenschneider, in 1970, while serving in Kenya, Africa, in the Peace Corps.

Friends called on Monday, June 3, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the First Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

The Murray Community Funeral Home served the family.

Hugar A. Nowak
WATERTOWN - Hugar A. Nowak, 91, of 1020 Hill St., Watertown, formerly of 1308 Neenah St., Watertown, died on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at 6 p.m., at Bethany Chapel at Marquardt Memorial Manor, Watertown. The Rev. Bernard Rott will officiate. Burial will be in St. Henry Catholic cemetery, Watertown.

Mr. Nowak was born on June 1, 1911, in Juneau, the son of Alfred A. and Anna M. (Schrap) Nowak. He was married on Sept. 14, 1935, to Mary Zeiner at St. Henry Catholic Church, Watertown.

Mr. Nowak was a 1928 graduate of Juneau High School. He moved to Watertown in 1932, and was employed with the former Gamble Store for seven years, Hornburg Motors Inc. for 25 years, and then retired in 1975 from Miller Auto Parts after 20 years of employment. He was known by many through his years in the automotive business. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Watertown, and had been a member of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed all his friends at Zinzendorf Hall and was actively involved with many activities until he was a victim in a traffic accident in March. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Mary Ann (DuWayne) Kuenzi, Patti (Jerry) Marks, Diane (Gary) Hiller, Donald (Karen) Bredow, Thomas (Cindy) Bredow, Phyllis (Roger) Block, Leonard (Lenore) Hertel, Rex (Mary) Bateman, Richard (Fran) Zeiner, Bill (Rosie) Zeiner, Dan (Mona) Zeiner, Mary Jane (Harold) Webb, and Steve (Pat) Zeiner; one sister, Janet Lewandowski; one brother-in-law, William Zeiner Sr.; great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and many friends at Zinzendorf Hall.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nowak, on Jan. 10, 1999; his parents, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 4, from 5 p.m. until the time of service at St. Henry Catholic Church, Watertown.

Anna E. Haase
JUNEAU - Anna E. Haase, 95, formerly of Clyman, died on Monday, June 3, 2002, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 6, at noon, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyman. The Rev. Thomas Simon will officiate. Burial will be in St. Isadore's cemetery, Clyman.

Mrs. Haase was born on June 8, 1906, in the town of Clyman, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Scully) Godsell. She was married on July 14, 1927, to Harold Haase in Juneau.

Mrs. Haase was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyman. She had been a teacher at the former North Star School and at Lowell Elementary School.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Don) Nampel, Beaver Dam; one son, Jerome W. Haase, Clyman; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Haase, on Nov. 10, 1949; one son, Joseph; two sisters, Mary Dolan and Dorothy Neis, and one brother, Thomas Godsell.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. John the Baptist Church, Clyman.

Morris B. Deakin
CAMBRIA - Morris B. Deakin, 64, of Cambria, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m., at the Rosedale Church. The Rev. Merle Bartels will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Cambria American Legion Post No. 401.

Mr. Morris was born on March 28, 1938, in Scott township, the son of Carl Harris and Laverne Gail (Williams) Deakin. He was married to Diane Mickelson on June 24, 1961, at the Rosedale Church. Four children blessed this marriage.

Mr. Morris graduated from Cambria High School. In October 1961, he served in the National Guard and then was called to active duty for the Berlin Crisis. He was discharged in August 1962. He worked for Michel's Gas Pipeline. He also worked his farm. He enjoyed music, both singing and playing the guitar in his younger years. Most important was his love for his wife, children and grandchildren. His smile would light up the room.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane, Cambria; four children, Gregory (Sandra) Deakin, Cambria, Denise (Paul) Bandt, Pardeeville, Karla (Donald Jr.) Chapman, Cambria, and Daniel (Carey) Deakin, Cambria; 10 grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin, Kole, Kyle, Kaycee, Karissa, Vanessa, Natalie, Chelsey and Vienna; sisters and brothers, Marjorie (Merwyn) Sommers, Cambria, George (Virginia) Deakin, Cambria, and Jeanne (Tom) Moulton, Cambria; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Doris (Kenneth) Pluess and Phyllis Deakin.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 6, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Smith Funeral Home, Pardeeville, and on Friday, June 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Rosedale Church.
