Dale H. Derge
Dale H. Derge, 78, of 817 Grove St., Beaver Dam, formerly of the Hartford area, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m., at Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Derge was born on Dec. 9, 1923, in the town of Addison, the son of Elmer and Martha (Schrier) Derge. He was married on Aug. 17, 1946, to Shirley Zirbel, at Zion Lutheran Church, town of Theresa. He was later married on Nov. 26, 1983, to Gloria (Daugherty) Hurst at Kripplein Christi Church, Iron Ridge.

Mr. Derge was a mason contractor from 1956 until his retirement in 1985, and the co-owner of Derge and Meyer Construction. He was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford, and lived in the Hartford area for many years. He was very active in many capacities of the churches to which he belonged. He was a good Christian role model and spiritual leader for many people, young and old, whose lives he had touched. He loved his Lord, his family and loved to garden.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Derge, Beaver Dam; four children, Glenn (Ruth) Derge, Chandler, Ariz., Gene (Gloria) Derge, West Bend, Susanne (Allen) Schmidt, Hartford, and Sherri (Ray) Thompson, Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren, Julie (Mark) Keeley, Stacie Derge, Katie (Todd) Barrett, Eric (fiancee Bridget O'Leary) Derge, Angela (Jon) Sievert, Rebecca (Dan) Schoenherr, Jesse (Ellen) Schmidt, Maggie Schmidt, Travis Schellinger and Kelly Palmtag; four great-grandchildren; nine stepchildren, Thomas Hurst, David (Gina) Hurst, both of California, Karen (David) Beanland, Cincinnati, the Rev. Paul (Rena) Hurst, Boscobel, Mary Venzke, Ann Marie Hurst, both of Minneapolis, Minn., Margaret Palmas, Glendale, Ariz., Patricia Linberg, Fox Lake, and Barbara (Chris) Burton, Denton, Texas; 14 stepgrandchildren; one sister, Pearl Retzlaff, Hartford; nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley, in April 1978; one brother, Melvin; one brother in infancy, and two stepsons, Steven and Peter Hurst.

Friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to Hillside Hospice Care, Beaver Dam, or the charity of one's choice.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Shirley E. M. Krause
Shirley Ella May Krause, 70, of W9543 Highway G, Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m., at Salem Lutheran Church, Lowell. The Rev. Paul Vander Galien will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Krause was born on Aug. 26, 1931, in the town of Trenton, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Voigt) Binder. She was married on Nov. 3, 1951, to Edwin A. Krause at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Mrs. Krause farmed with her husband in the town of Lowell.

Survivors include three children, Lorraine (Carl) Prothero, Horicon, Gloria (Jeffrey) Schmidt, Waupun, and Roy Krause, Brandon; one brother, Lawrence Binder; three grandchildren, Dale and Jennifer Schmidt, and Amanda Prothero; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Salem Lutheran Church, Lowell.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church, Building Fund.

Merton Mohr
RANDOLPH - Merton Mohr, 81, of rural Randolph, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Cambria. The Rev. Julie WaterDu will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, town of Scott.

Mr. Mohr was born on Sept. 22, 1920, in the Inglehart area, the son of Herbert and Hazel (Hinz) Mohr. He was married in 1953, to Marion Kopff.

Mr. Mohr lived in the Inglehart area during his youth, then lived in the Cambria area for several years. He moved to his most current residence in the town of Randolph shortly after marriage. He was employed with David Slinger and Slinger farms until his retirement.

He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Marion Mohr, rural Randolph; one son, Brinton Mohr, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Mindy Sytsma, Sheridan, Wyo.; one stepson, Sten Olson, Big Stone Gap, Va.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Norbert, on May 5, 1991.

Friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the First Presbyterian Church, Cambria.

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, is serving the family.

Walter Minnig Sr.
Walter Minnig Sr., 92, W10192 Hawk Road, Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Daniel Massie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Minnig was born on Aug. 4, 1909, in Wimmis, Bern, Switzerland, the son of Robert and Elisa (Gyger) Minnig. He was married on March 30, 1937, to Anna M. Gruenenfelder, in Mount Horeb.

Mr. Minnig moved from Switzerland to southern Wisconsin in 1929, where he made cheese for 23 years. He was a farmer for 48 years first in Orfordville and since 1958 in Beaver Dam. He had also been a "lumberjack" for 85 years. He had a great love for animals and nature.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Anna Minnig, Beaver Dam; his children, Walter (Genie) Minnig Jr., Beaver Dam, Mary (Harold) Winter, Juneau, Ruth (Fred) Gassmann, Switzerland, Werner (Mary Ann) Minnig, Beaver Dam, Fred (Janet) Minnig, Beaver Dam, and Robert (Sandy) Minnig, Beaver Dam; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and six sisters.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Bernice A. Breyer
MAYVILLE - Bernice A. Breyer, 84, of 305 S. Clark St., Mayville, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Cremation will take place.

Mrs. Breyer was born on Aug. 20, 1917, in the town of Theresa, the daughter of Louis and Emilie (Neitzel) Macheel. She was married on May 29, 1948, to Kenneth Breyer, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dubuque, Iowa.

Mrs. Breyer attended Mayville public schools and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. She resided in Inglewood, Calif., moving there in 1949. She was employed at McCullough Chain Saw for 30 years, retiring in 1979. She and her husband moved to Carson City, Nev., where they enjoyed their retirement years together. After her husband's death, she moved to Mayville in 1990.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Patsy Mason, Marshall, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989; one stepson, Roy Breyer; one brother, Roland Macheel, and four sisters, Adela Krueger, Olga Wagner, Adeline Schwartzmiller, and Vera Lohr.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville.

The Cottrill Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Lorraine R. Siegmann
JUNEAU - Lorraine R. Siegmann, 68, of Juneau, formerly of the Ashippun area, died on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 12, at 8 p.m., at the Schmidt and Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church cemetery, Ashippun.

Mrs. Siegmann was born on June 13, 1934, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of William and Emma (Maasch) Kluewer. She was married on Oct. 30, 1954, to Lennis P. Siegmann, at St. John Lutheran Church, Ashippun.

Mrs. Siegmann helped her husband on their dairy farm in the Mayville area over 20 years.

Survivors include three sons, Mark (Kande) Siegmann, Oconomowoc, Duane (Margaret) Siegmann, Oceanside, Calif., and Larry Siegmann, Beaver Dam; one brother, Alvin (Elaine) Kluewer, Watertown; five grandchildren, Steven, Crystal, Mary Jo, Angelica and Christopher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lennis; one brother and one sister.

Friends may call on Friday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Schmidt and Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc.

Memorials to the family are suggested.

Louise A. Kloosterboer
WAUPUN - Louise A. Kloosterboer, 72, of Waupun, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, peacefully at her home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 10:30 a.m., at the Alto Reformed Church, Alto. The Revs. Gregg Pusateri and Ted Medema will officiate. Burial will be in the Alto cemetery, Alto.

Mrs. Kloosterboer was born on June 20, 1930, in Waupun, the daughter of Alfred and Katie (Loomans) Galler. She was married on Sept. 20, 1952, to Bernard Kloosterboer, in Waupun.

Mrs. Kloosterboer and her husband lived on the Kloosterboer family farm in the heart of Alto most of their lives. They moved to the city of Waupun in 1998. She was an active member of the Alto Reformed Church, Alto, its Mission Circle, its Guild, and taught in its Sunday school program. She was a member of the Waupun Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a past 4-H leader.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard, Waupun; two sons, Bob Kloosterboer, Alto, and John (Sue) Kloosterboer, Madison; one daughter, Carla (Steve) Wenninger, Wausau; six grandchildren, Mike, Megan and Kayla Kloosterboer, and Eric, Luke and Katie Wenninger, and one brother, Max (Judy) Galler, Waupun.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, July 11, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Alto Reformed Church, Alto.

A memorial has been established in Louise's name for the International Myeloma Foundation.

Alma Broadway
WAUPUN - Alma Broadway, 76, of Waupun, died on Friday, July 12, 2002, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral was held on Monday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alto Reformed Church. The Revs. Gregg Pusateri and the Ted Medema officiated.

Mrs. Broadway was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Theodore and Alma Doris (Ziegenhagen) Robbins. She was married on June 8, 1957, to Howard Broadway in Alto.

Mrs. Broadway was a graduate of Oakfield High School. She attended Green Lake County Normal School and later received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She and her husband resided in the Alto and Waupun area all their married life. She taught elementary school at Stone School near Oak Center, Longview School, Amity School and Washington School, Waupun, from which she retired in 1984, after 36 years of teaching. Those whom she taught had much respect for her. She was a member of the Alto Reformed Church, taught Sunday school, Bible school, and was a member of the Golden Lifers.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Broadway, Waupun; one sister, Adaline Robbins, Wautoma; one brother, Melvin Robbins, Wautoma; one niece; one nephew; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marion Giffey.

Friends called on Sunday, July 14, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Monday, July 15, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Alto Reformed Church.

Wilmer O. Fude
Wilmer O. Fude, 79, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, July 14, 2002.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Mr. Fude was born on Jan. 27, 1923, in the town of Springvalle, the son of Otto A. and Elsie (Schwandt) Fude. He was married on Feb. 3. 1945, to Caroline L. Luck at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Trenton.

Mr. Fude served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked on the Willard Nehls farm for 23 years, then was employed with the Dodge County Highway Division as a patrolman until he retired. He was a member of Juneau's American Legion Post 15, the Juneau Senior Citizens, and a longtime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Survivors include four children, Sharon (Hank) Lehmann, Beaver Dam, Karen (Dennis) Owens, Rockford, Ill., Dennis (Janice) Fude, Fox Lake, and David (Jane) Fude, Juneau; nine grandchildren, Lori (David) Hackbarth, Beaver Dam, Jodi (fiance Russell Firari) Fude, Juneau, Lisa Kohrt, Rockford, Ill., Tony (Wendy) Kohrt, Beaver Dam, Teresa Owens, Rockford, Ill., Christine (Scott) Karow, Fall River, Kathleen Fude, Beaver Dam, Kari Fude, and Kevin Fude, both of Fox Lake, Jonathan Fude, and Daniel Fude, both of Juneau; brothers and sisters, Ray (Fern) Fude, Michigan, Zeta Buhrow, Berlin, Joyce Wilz, Omro, Francis Fude, Berlin, Arla Lee, Oshkosh, Robert (Ginny) Fude, Wautoma, David (Marion) Fude, Kenosha; one brother-in-law, Russell Raatz, Berlin; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline L. Fude, on Dec. 19, 1993; his parents; two brothers, Howard and Leonard Fude; his sister, Mildred Raatz; three brothers-in-law, Andrew Wilz Jr., Alvin Buhrow, and Oscar Lee, and one sister-in-law, Twyla Fude.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau, and on Thursday, July 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Frances De Young
RANDOLPH - Frances De Young, 82, of Randolph, died on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at the Fist Reformed Church, Randolph. The Rev. Calvin Vande Zande will officiate. Burial will be in the Randolph cemetery.

Mrs. De Young was born on April 23, 1920, the daughter of Ray and Jennie (De Vries) Alsum. She was married on March 28, 1941, to Ben De Young at East Friesland Church.

Mrs. De Young will be greatly missed by her family. She was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church, Randolph, sang in the church choir and taught catechism.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Ben De Young, Randolph; one son, Robert (Maureen) De Young, Waupun; one daughter-in-law, Donna De Young (Jim) Lont, Randolph; six grandchildren, Marla (fiance Will Pearce) De Young, Madison, Julie (Dan) Nieman, Randolph, Mark (Angela) De Young, Madison, Kevin De Young, Randolph, Christine (Mike) Alfred, Tulsa, Okla., and Ivan (Erin) Klas, Oshkosh; one sister, Nettie (Ted) Westra, Ripon, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Nolan Unser, J.J., Jessica, and Jacob Allred, Whitney and Taylor Klas; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Merlin De Young, in 1991; one granddaughter, Brenda Kay De Young, in 1974; one brother, John Alsum, and two sisters, Tina Slager and Martha Huizenga.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 17, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Randolph Community Funeral Home.
