David S. Tennessen
MAYVILLE - David S. Tennessen, 17, of 604 N. Clark St., Horicon, and 1274 Dayton St., Mayville, died on Friday, April 11, 2003, as the result of an automobile accident.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 5 p.m., at the Christian Life Fellowship, Mayville.

The Rev. Christal Bindrich will officiate. Burial will be in the Reeseville cemetery.

David was born on April 2, 1986, the son of Michael John and Pamela Sue (Hahn) Tennessen. David was a junior attending Mayville High School. He was a member of Mayville United Methodist Church. He was active with the youth group at Christian Life Fellowship, Mayville. He was a talented artist, loved music and computers. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Christian Life Fellowship. He was an accomplished artist with a real love for life. He was politically motivated, opinionated, creative, technically minded, peace loving and very giving of himself. He believed in his friends and always made time for them. He was so compassionate toward animals that he would scare the deer away when he went hunting with his father. He planned to go to his Junior Prom with his girlfriend, Sarah Scheberl, who was also killed in this tragic accident. He cared for his younger brother and sister every day after school until his parents returned from work and he was an excellent role model and brother. He had so many talents and possibilities; the communities of Mayville and Horicon cannot measure their loss.

Survivors include his parents, Pam Tennessen, Horicon, and Mike Tennessen, Mayville; his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Joyce Tennessen, Horicon; his maternal grandparents, Ron and Chris Moran, Horicon, and Floyd Hahn, Horicon; his maternal great-grandfather, Eugene Hahn, Reeseville; maternal great-grandmother, Arlene Prock, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Tara and Elizabeth Tennessen; one brother, Nicholas Tennessen; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lydia Hahn and Bernard Prock. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Christian Life Fellowship, Mayville. Memorials may be made to the Youth Effort at Christian Life Fellowship.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Harold A. Fiegel
Harold A. Fiegel, 83, of 906 S. Lincoln Avenue, Beaver Dam, died on Monday, April 14, 2003, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bode will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146.

Harold was born on Nov. 11, 1919, in Beaver Dam, the son of Carl and Kate (Maus) Fiegel. He was married to Doris Kutzke on May 31, 1941, at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Harold was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed at the Weyenberg Shoe Factory for many years and then he worked at the Monarch Range Company for several years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with duty overseas. He was a musician, playing the guitar with the "Blue Notes" and "Twilighters," entertaining throughout the surrounding area. He was also a "man of all trades," helping his family whenever he could.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, Beaver Dam; four daughters, Alice (Jim) Oestreicher, Diane (Dan) Cupery, both of Beaver Dam, Shirley (Dick) Thieme, Juneau, and Beverly (Dave) King, Fond du Lac; three sons, Ric (Connie) Fiegel, Randy Fiegel and Ronney (Lisa) Fiegel, all of Beaver Dam; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Verna Smith; one brother-in-law, Edward Kutzke, and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Friesen.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 16, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church or to Hillside Hospice.

Ruby Braun
WAUPUN - Ruby Braun, 82, of Waupun, died on Sunday, April 13, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon. The Rev. Allen Schut will officiate. Burial will follow at Brandon cemetery, Brandon.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Wednesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Bethel Reformed Church, Brandon.

Edwin W. Bublitz
COLUMBUS - Edwin W. Bublitz, 79, of Columbus, died on Monday, April 14, 2003, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m., at the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. The Rev. Daniel Simms will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Edwin was born on Dec. 23, 1923, in the town of Polk, Washington County. He was married to Doris Moldenhauer on June 29, 1946, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Slinger.

Edwin graduated from Slinger High School. He drove a Standard Oil truck for 10 years. He was the Standard Oil agent for Columbus and area for 30 years until retirement. He was a very faithful and active member of the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus. He taught Sunday school for several years, sang in the choir, was on the church council for 18 years, a former member of the school board, as well as a usher for many years. He recently sang in the men’s choir. He served on the General Board at Lakeside Lutheran High School. He belonged to the Columbus Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling for many years. He will be remembered as a Christian man, with a great sense of humor. He was always kind, very generous, completely family oriented, totally enjoying his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is mourned by his wife of 56 years, Doris; six children, Bonnie (David) Bischoff, Juneau, Edwin Jr. (Barbara), Beaver Dam, Joyce (Rodric) Roth, Duluth, Ga., Christine (Martin) Sell, Juneau, Alan (Janet) Bublitz, Wausau, and William (Ronda) Bublitz, Columbus; 16 grandchildren, Joel (Sada) Bischoff, Jennifer (Bradley) Main and Jessica Bischoff, all of Juneau, Edwin Bublitz III, Cosette Bublitz, Gillian Bublitz and Eli Bublitz, Beaver Dam, Michael Roth, Duluth, Ga., Jocelyn Sell, Benjamin Sell and Nicholas Sell, Juneau, Mitchell Bublitz and Mackenzie Bublitz, Wausau, Drew Bublitz, Rachael Bublitz and Brent Bublitz, Columbus; five great-grandchildren, Alicia, Vanessa and Monica Bischoff, Kaitlyn Main and Brieanna Bischoff; two brothers, Fred (Mary) Bublitz, Tampa, Fla., and Alfred (Fern) Bublitz, Hartford; two sisters, Ruth Bublitz, Slinger, and Marion Muller, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Friends may call on Friday, April 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Saturday, April 19, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.

The Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.

Bernard Redeker
WAUPUN - Bernard Redeker, 85, of Waupun, died on Monday, April 14, 2003, at Woodridge, Ill.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 11 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Bausch will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Mound cemetery.

Bernard was born on Sept. 27, 1917, in Brandon, the son of the late Louis and Jennie (Vossekuil) Redeker. He was married to Grace Molter on May 29, 1940, in Waupun.

Bernard and his wife lived in Illinois for many years and most recently he lived at Burgess Square in Westmont, Ill. He was the owner and operator of a waste disposal service. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include one son, Ronald (Marilyn) Redeker, Woodrigde, Ill.; one son-in-law, Milo Brcik, Necedah; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace in 1993, and one daughter, Barbara in 2000.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 17, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Manuel Delafuente
WAUTOMA - Manuel Delafuente, 50, of Wautoma, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

Private services will be held on Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate.

Manuel was born on Aug. 12, 1952, in Mission, Texas, the son of Jose and Maria (Gomez) Delafuente. He was married to Juana Rosas on April 6, 1988, in Wautoma.

Manuel was a professional guitar player, playing a 12-string guitar with his family band. He was a member of the Wautoma Assembly of God Church. He loved his family and music.

Survivors include his wife, Juana Delafuente, Wautoma; four children, Joshua Delafuente, Florida, Rene (Erika) Delafuente, Beaver Dam, Carmen (Cris) Vazquez, Beaver Dam, and Manuel Delafuente Jr., Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Brian and Briana Delafuente, Karla Delafuente and Manuel Delafuente II; one sister, Juana (Delbert) Dhuse, Yorkville, Ill.; four brothers, Ranulfo Delafuente, Mission, Texas, Juan Antonio (Silvia) Delafuente, Elsa, Texas, Ramon (Nora) Delafuente, McAllen, Texas, and Martin (Hilda) Delafuente, Mission, Texas; his parents, Jose and Maria Delafuente, McAllen, Texas; his mother- and father-in-law, Roberto and Marianna Mendoza, N.M.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernesto Delafuente, and one sister, Carmelita Delafuente.

There will be private family visitation.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Earl A. Gay
TOWN OF ELBA-Earl A. "Kewpie" Gay, 86, of rural Columbus, died on Thursday, April 17, in Columbus.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, town of Elba. The Rev. John L. Simon will officiate. Interment will be in Grove Prairie cemetery, town of Lowell.

Kewpie was born to John and Minna (Sauer) Gay on May 9, 1916, on the family farm and lived there his entire life. He was married to Rita A. Wake on Jan. 16, 1945, in Columbus.

Kewpie was a successful farmer and was community minded and accepted responsible positions having served as a school board member on rural Hartley School and on five consolidated rural schools prior to the formation of the Columbus School District. He was a director on the Columbus Milk Producers Co-op; was director of Columbus-Fall River Co-op for 25 years; served as supervisor on the town of Elba board for 10 years. He also served on the building commission to plan and build the new St. Columbkille Church. Kewpie loved his family, the farming life and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Rita, of rural Columbus; three sons, John E. of Columbus, Thomas (Cris) of Beaver Dam, and Dale A. of Columbus; one daughter, Bonnie K. Gay-Seehawer of Madison; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Loretta Gabathuler; six brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. William A. Wagner
Dr. William A. Wagner, 77, of Neshkoro, formerly of Waupun, died Friday evening, March 21, 2003, at The Heartland House, Wautoma.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 21, at 2 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Bausch will officiate.

Memorials may be directed to the Union-Congregational Church, Waupun.

Donald J. Harper
WAUPUN - Donald J. Harper, 66, of Waupun, died on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Waupun Memorial Hospital

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. David Parrish will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Donald was born on July 24, 1936, in Madison, the son of Payson and Harriet (VandeStreek) Harper. He was married to Marjorie Gerretson in Waupun.

Donald and his wife lived in Waupun all their married lives. He worked for the city of Waupun in its Public Works Department. He retired in 1976 as Director of Public Works in Waupun.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, Waupun; one son, Kurt Harper (special friend Alice Garlow) Waupun; one daughter, Lori (Jim) Rohde, Waupun; one granddaughter, Stacy (Adam) Griswold, Beaver Dam; two grandsons, Kevin (Mary) Rohde, Beaver Dam, and Derrick (fiancee Amanda Striff) Rohde, Waupun; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Griswold, Beaver Dam; two brothers, David Harper, Winneconne, and Bob Harper, Adams; one sister, Mary (Al) Homan, Hot Springs Village, Ark; his mother-in-law, Edna Gerretson, Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; one grandson, and his father-in-law.

Friends may call on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the 1:30 p.m. service, at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Arline Bensley
LOWELL - Arline "Ollie" Bensley, 77, of Lowell, died on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon. The Rev. Dennis Sundell will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell cemetery.

Arline was born on July 23, 1925, in Mayville, the daughter of Reinhard and Emma (Zuehlke) Zirbel. She was married to Clarence S. Bensley on July 26, 1947, in Horicon.

Arline worked at the canning factory in Clyman, the Heim Cheese Co. in Lowell, and then at Durant in Watertown, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon, and was a member of the Lowell Homemakers. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, her family and friends, and especially her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her "special family", David (Joanne) Zirbel, Lowell, David (Lynn) Zirbel, Gays Mills, and their children, Dustin, Chad and Matthew, Julie (Donald) Regan, Fond du Lac, and their children, Jessica and Dominick, Dan Zirbel, Gays Mills, and his son, Casey; one sister, Elivera (Paul) Schmidt, Hustisford; three brothers, Norman (Erna) Zirbel, Juneau, Marlen (Gloria) Zirbel, Horicon, and Vilas Zirbel, Iron Ridge; one sister-in-law, Helen Bensley, Burnett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence on May 24, 1989; three brothers, Ervin, Ronald and Donald Zirbel; one sister-in-law, Andrea Zirbel; and one brother-in-law, Benjamin Bensley.

Friends may call on Wednesday, April 23, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville, and on Thursday, April 24, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Horicon.

Wallace Olson
FOX LAKE - Wallace "Teddy" Olson, 72, of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at University Hospital, Madison.

In accordance with Teddy's wishes, there will be no services.

Teddy was born on June 3, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Wallace T. and Violet M. (Short) Olson.

Teddy was a life-long resident of the Fox Lake area, and was employed with the Department of Corrections for over 30 years. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War, where he was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Survivors include close friends, Gene Kok, Fox Lake, Steve King, Randolph, and Bob Hayes, Fox Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Fox Lake American Legion Post.

The Randolph Community Funeral Home, is serving the family.
