Dorothy M. Boock
Dorothy May (Chatfield) Boock, 89, of 1226 Hiawatha Drive, Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Jan. 31, 2003, at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A worship service for Dorothy May Chatfield Boock will be on Friday, Feb. 7, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 7, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. Entombment will be later on Friday afternoon at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Nicolet Gardens, Green Bay. Anyone wishing to join the family for any of these events is welcome.

She was born a "coal miners daughter" on Jan. 29, 1914, in Gatliff, Ky., to Colin "Carl" and Icie "Lona" (Reed) Chatfield.

Dorothy graduated as a registered nurse from Louisville General Hospital School of Nursing and was married to Dr. Robert F. Boock, a medical student at Louisville General Hospital, on March 23, 1942, in Louisville, Ky. They enjoyed nearly 61 years of marriage.

After several moves during World War II they lived in Louisville until 1949, when they moved to Beaver Dam. Dorothy spent several years as a private duty nurse at the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, Beaver Dam. First and foremost, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, where she served on various committees and on the school lunch program. While raising five children, she also provided many volunteer hours to the Red Cross, serving as Dodge County Blood Bank chairperson for over five years during which the program flourished, often exceeding expected quotas. She was a member of the State and Dodge County Medical Auxiliary for many years where she served as county president and was Child Health Care chairperson at the state level. During this time, she helped institute many programs statewide related to child safety. Her interests were many, ranging from poetry to politics, and she was a devoted Packer fan. She was a very creative and original person, often described as "spunky." She will be remembered for her quick wit, her philosophical outlook and wonderful sense of honor as well as her spirit and tenacity. She left the world a better place by her presence.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert F. Boock, Beaver Dam; five children and two grandchildren, Barbara (Tom) Kelly, Green Bay, Patricia Boock, Milwaukee, Margaret Boock, Savannah, Ga., Robert F. (Rafat) Boock and their daughter, Kaylyn, Stafford, Va., Susan (Dan, deceased) Ketelsen and their children, Kyle, Sam, Sarah and Stephen Ketelsen, Lodi; one brother, G.W. Chatfield, Sumter, S.C.; one brother-in-law, Oscar (Amy) Boock, Worthington, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Marguerite (Bob) Allen, Milwaukee; three nieces, two nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister-in-law and one son-in-law.

A memorial fund is being established.

Carol G. Sanborn
MCGREGOR, Iowa - Carol G. Sanborn, 72, of McGregor, Iowa, formerly of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at her home following a long illness.

She was cremated and there will be no services.

Carol was born on July 16, 1930, in Racine, the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Scheoneke) Sanborn.

Carol worked as a licensed practical nurse in Beaver Dam for 30 years. She has been living with her son, John, in McGregor, Iowa.

Survivors include three sons, John Manalli, McGregor, Iowa, Jim and Marc Manalli, both of Reading, Pa.; two daughters, Sarah Westover, San Bernadino, Calif., and Chris Manalli, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; one brother, Richard Sanborn, Racine, and one sister, Jane Giovenelli, Kenosha.

The Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, McGregor, Iowa, is serving the family.

Robert H. Born
Robert H. Born, 76, of 110 1/2 Madison St., Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Gene Kinney will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden, town of Trenton.

Robert was born on Feb. 2, 1926, in Fox Lake, the son of Alfred and Ella (Grams) Born. He was married to Rose Graff on April 22, 1951, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in the parsonage.

Robert farmed in the Fox Lake and Juneau areas for many years.

Survivors include his children, Mike Born, Waupun, Nancy (Kurt) Jahns, Juneau, Sandra (Ken) Baumann, Horicon, and Ronald Born, Waupun; sisters and brothers, LeRoy Born, Markesan, Eleanor Pillsbury, Fox Lake, and Bernice Schreiber, Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1969; one sister, Delores, and one granddaughter, Bethany.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Kenneth R. Vande Zande
MARKESAN - Kenneth R. Vande Zande, 82, formerly of Waupun, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the Markesan Resident Home, Markesan.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m., at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Ken was born on June 29, 1920, in Alto, the son of Albert and Anah (Loomans) Vande Zande. He was married to Blanche Fields in 1946.

Ken owned and operated Ken's Feed Mill, Waupun, and then continued working at Farmers Elevator in Waupun before retiring. He was a member of First Reformed Church, Waupun.

Survivors include two daughters, Ona (Jerry) Pollom, Fond du Lac, and Mary (James) Duffy, Rockford, Ill.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn (Milan) Lemke, Waupun, Helen (Herb) Pickart, Sheboygan, and Lois Veleke, Eau Claire.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Ken's family expresses their appreciation and conveys a personal thank you for the love and special care given while he was a resident in Markesan Resident Home.

Melvin N. Brueckner
Melvin N. Brueckner, 80, of Beaver Dam, died on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at his home.

No services will be held and commital of his cremains will take place at a later date in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Melvin was born on Feb. 21, 1922, the son of Hilmer and Lillian (Steldt) Brueckner.

Melvin was employed with Monarch Malleable Iron Range for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and also was a member of the Eagles Club.

Survivors include one sister, Golder Meyer, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Ida C. Reiser
JUNEAU - Ida C. Reiser, 104, of 199 Home Road, Juneau, died on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrew cemetery, LeRoy.

Ida was born on Jan. 1, 1899, in the town of Oakfield, the daughter of Frank and Emilia (Adelmeyer) Ertl. She was married to Alois Bauer on Feb. 8, 1932, in LeRoy. She was married to August Reiser on July 26, 1969, in LeRoy.

Ida was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy and a member of St. Andrew Christian Women.

Survivors include her step-children, Jerome (Elizabeth) Bauer, LeRoy, Kenneth (Alice) Bauer, LeRoy, Annella (Eugene) Wagner, West Bend, Sylvia (Frank) Gremminger, Mayville, Leonard Reiser, Chicago, Harold (Janet) Reiser, Mayville, and Ida Thurk Axtman, Fox Lake; one step-daughter-in-law, Rita Bauer, Fond du Lac; five sisters-in-law, Barbara Ertl, St. Killian, Theresa Ertl, Mayville, Maxine Bauer, Beaver Dam, Veronica Bauer, Marshfield, and Alma Bauer, Spring Green; 26 step grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers; two sisters and one step-granddaughter, Debbie.

Friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Restoration Fund or St. Mary's Church, Mayville.

Edna Beduhn
COLUMBUS - Edna "Eddy" Beduhn, 57, of 1006 Park Ave., Columbus, went to heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m., at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 254 W. Mill St., Columbus. The Rev. Daniel Sims will officiate.

Eddy was born on Feb. 1, 1946, in West Bend, the daughter of Arnold and Hattie (Odebrauski) Tews. She was married to James G. Beduhn on Nov. 16, 1968, at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Eddy and her family moved to Columbus on Aug. 25, 1985. They joined Zion Lutheran Church. She became active in the Columbus schools. Soon she began working for the Columbus Police Department as a school crossing guard. She loved her children and job. Later she served four years on the Columbus City Council and many more years on the Columbus Planning Commission. She did her best to serve her community. She was a member of the Columbus Lions Club.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Jim, Columbus; three loving sons, Jed (Naomi), Brooklyn, Scott (Kathy), Stevens Point, and Jon, Madison; one granddaughter, Jasmine England; her wonderful sister, Delores Reuter, Mattoon; one aunt, Gertrude Tews; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one half-sister, Esther Krueger, and one brother-in-law, George Reuter.

Friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

Jeff Schilling
COLUMBUS - Jeff "Schil" Schilling, 28, died on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, as the result of an ice fishing accident on Lake Michigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Columbus. The Rev Bruce Hennington will officiate. Interment will be in St. Jerome cemetery, Columbus.

Jeff was born on July 9, 1974, in Columbus, the son of Dan and Mary (Webb) Schilling. He was a 1992 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1997 graduate of Concordia University, Mequon where he received a bachelor of science degree in physical education. Jeff was married to Jodie Nickerson on Aug. 1, 1998, in Columbus. He was formerly employed at Kettle Moraine Correctional Facility and was currently employed at Fox Lake Correctional Facility. Jeff loved sports, especially football, and played basketball and baseball. He played football both in high school and college. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of St. Jerome Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jodie of Columbus; parents, Dan and Mary Schilling of Columbus; three sisters, Ann (Bruce) Gehrke of Fall River, Kay Schilling of Columbus, Patty (Heimo) Woehrer of Waukesha; two brothers, David of Columbus and Mark (Peggy) of Gurnee Ill.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Jerome Church, Columbus, on Sunday, Feb. 9, and on Monday, Feb. 10. from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church .

Memorials may be made to the St. Jerome Endowment Fund or the American Diabetes Association.

Marty B. Schoenberger
Marty B. Schoenberger, 69, N7274 Farwell Road, Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at her home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Inurnment of her cremains will take place at a later date at Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Marty was born on July 16, 1933, in Mayville, the daughter of George and Ida Billings. She was married to Harold Schoenberger on June 13, 1953, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Marty spoke German as a little girl. After her marriage she moved to Beaver Dam. She was employed in the physical therapy department of the Lutheran Hospital, then as a nurse and receptionist at Medical Associates and later in the Survey Research Laboratory for the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau. She was active with Project Aware, Beaver Dam Women's Affiliate and Beaver Dam Community Concert. She loved to travel extensively, especially in Europe. She loved to experience different cultures and was an avid photographer. She also loved to garden.

Survivors include her husband Harold, Beaver Dam; two sons, Gregg (Jill) Schoenberger, Livermore, Calif., and Eric (Heidi) Schoenberger, Beaver Dam; one grandson, Spencer Schoenberger, Beaver Dam; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Roger) Scherer, Fort Atkinson, and Lois Matthews, Altoona; special friends, Judy and Dick Henning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.

Anthony G. Vollmer
MAYVILLE - Anthony Gerard Vollmer, 21, 720 Forest Drive, Mayville, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, as the result of an auto accident.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, at 5:30 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Mayville.

Anthony was born on Oct. 1, 1981, in Fond du Lac, the son of Michael and Diane (Bauer) Vollmer.

Anthony was a 2000 graduate of Mayville High School. He attended the UW-Madison for the past two and one-half years. He was employed with Piggly Wiggly, Mayville. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville. He loved computers, video games and golf.

Survivors include his parents, Michael and Diane Vollmer, Mayville; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Alice Bauer, LeRoy; paternal grandmother, Betty Vollmer, Mayville; one sister, Rachelle A. (special friend Jason Paul) Vollmer, Green Bay; one brother, Timothy M. Vollmer, Madison; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gilbert in 1997, and one aunt, Debra Bauer

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 10, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary School Endowment Fund.
