June A. Beilke
June A. Beilke, nee Abbott, 66, of West Bend, died on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee.

She was born on June 7, 1936 in Springfield, Ill., to Gordon and Nona (Moor) Abbott.

June raised her family in West Bend, and was a secretary for West Bend School District Central Office for many years.

Survivors include four children, Briggs Beilke of Yuba City, Calif., Greta (John) Havey of Wheaton, Ill., Jennifer Beilke of Beijing, China and Heather Beilke of Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Jarred, Keenan and Jack; her mother, Nona "Banky" Abbott of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Sue (Bob) Vorreyer of Lincolnshire, Ill. and Janet Winters of Queen Creek, Ariz.; a special friend, Dakota; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church of West Bend.

Rev. Russell R. Arnett will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Memorials are appreciated to St. James Episcopal Church Pipe Organ Fund.

The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Ruth Landaal
Ruth Landaal, 84, of Waupun, died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m., at the Union-Congregational Church, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Bausch will offficiate.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Union-Congregational Church, Waupun.

June J. Hyne
June J. Hyne, age 90, of Santa Fe, N.M., died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Hyne.

June was an accomplished weaver, quilter and fiber artist. Mrs. Hyne chaired the Craft Market at the First Congregational church in Waupun, Wisconsin (1956-1966). She organized the all city, all girls 4-H Club and was director of the Craft Center in Waupun (1967- 1973).

She is survived by two daughters: Mary Hyne Dipboye and husband Robert; and Susan Hyne; granddaughter, Christine Dipboye.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Ten Thousand Villages, "Sharing Fund", P.O. Box 307, Akron, PA, 17501.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at El Castillo Retirement Community in Santa Fe, N.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa Street, Santa Fe, NM.

Richard C. Miller
Richard C. Miller, 71, of 102 Roller Ave., Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at the William S. Middleton Veteran's Memorial Hospital, Madison.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate.

Richard was born on Nov. 3, 1931, in Beaver Dam, the son of Alfred and Alice (Muenchow) Miller. He was married to Joanne Pable on Dec. 2, 1972, in Beaver Dam.

Richard was a Beaver Dam High School graduate. He was employed with Weyenberg Shoe Factory for 44 years, and worked part-time at Piggly Wiggly. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, with duty overseas. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church. He was an avid bowler and coached little league baseball. He was a Packer and NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Mara (Dwaine) Schessow, Beaver Dam; three stepchildren, Patricia (Ernie) Smith, Palm Harbor, Fla., Stephen (Kathy Haas) Garb, Beaver Dam, and Linda (Doug) Kuhaupt, Horicon; one sister-in-law, Joan Miller, Beaver Dam; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; two sisters, Shirley Anderson and Beverly Schmidt, and one brother, Harley Miller.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from noon until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Sadie Vander Velde
WAUPUN - Sadie Vander Velde, 88, of Waupun, formerly of Friesland, died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, 107 E. Winnebago St., Friesland. The Rev. Ronald Van Der Werff will officiate. Burial will be in Friesland cemetery.

Sadie was born on Aug. 28, 1914, in Friesland, the daughter of Sam and Jennie (Posthuma) Heeringa. She was married to Martin Vander Velde on July 14, 1933, in Friesland.

Sadie lived most of her life in Friesland and was a member of the First Reformed Church, Friesland. She moved to Waupun to make her home at the Gateway Apartments before moving to the Christian Home. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and traveling with her family to enjoy the fall colors.

Survivors include one son, Harris (Donna) Vander Velde, Waupun; one daughter, June Witowich, Waupun; one son-in-law, Dennis Tamminga, Fall River; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Heeringa and Gerald Heeringa, both of Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin on Feb. 4, 1991; one daughter, Barbara Tamminga; her parents, and two sisters, Effie Terpstra and Margaret De Young.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the First Reformed Church, Friesland.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Education Fund of the Friesland Reformed Church or the Bible League.

The Randolph Community Funeral Home, Randolph, is serving the family.

David A. Sturm
David A. Sturm, 83, a resident of the Beaver Dam Care Center, formerly of Iron Ridge, died on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge. The Rev. Larry Mose will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran cemetery, Iron Ridge.

David was born on Aug. 24, 1919, in the town of Herman, the son of Charles and Meta (Schulz) Sturm. He was married to Isabell Lainberger Warber on Aug. 28, 1948, in Beaver Dam.

David was the owner of a blacksmith and repair shop in Iron Ridge for many years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.

Survivors include one son, Neal (Sharon) Warber, Troy, Mont.; two daughters, Dorothy (Sonny) Genys, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada, and Carol (Gary) Galbraith, Juneau; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Isabell in December of 1982; three sisters, Naomi, Vitalis and Esther, and one brother, Wilmer.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.

Robert S. Russum
CLEBURNE, Texas - Robert Stephens Russum, 77, of Cleburne, Texas, died on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Cleburne, Texas.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m., in Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National cemetery, Joliet, Ill.

Robert was born on June 3, 1925, in Albany, N.Y., the son of Charles Howgate Russum and Mary Stalker Russum. He was married to Jean Perkins on July 2, 1949, in Sauquoit, N.Y.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a traffic manager for Millwork Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Russum, Cleburne, Texas; two sons, Stephen Russum and wife, Jean, Joliet, Ill., and Douglas Russum and wife, Anita, Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Bonnie Jackson and her husband, Ray, Cottage Grove; six grandchildren, Kristina, Rebecca, Christopher, Andrew and Joshua Russum, and Kyle Jackson; and one brother, Rollin C. Russum, Saranac Lake, N.Y.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, Cleburne, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church General Fund, 1200 W. Kilpatrick, Cleburne, TX 76033.

George F. Stegner
George F. Stegner, 70, of W10048 Highway DE West, Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at UW Hospital, Madison

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at noon, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. David Bode will officiate. Burial will be in Bethany cemetery, town of Calamus. Military rites will be provided by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146.

George was born on Feb. 1, 1933, in the town of Calamus, the son of Franklin and Lydia (Schultz) Stegner. He was married to Donna Vick on Aug. 2, 1969, in Columbus.

George was a 1951 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was employed in maintenance at Metalfab from 1955 until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 working in the engineering of the pipeline in Korea. He was a member of the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 and the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Kay (fiance Lee Allen Weiss) Stegner, Juneau; one son, Brian (Heidi) Stegner, Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Dylan, Brianna and Madison Stegner; one sister, Alice (Warren) Strassburg, Hustisford and Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, John (Rita) Stegner, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, or to the Leukemia Foundation.

Jean C. Davis
RANDOLPH - Jean C. Davis, 74, of Randolph, died on Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at the Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m., at Randolph Ev. Free Church, Randolph. The Rev. Dr. Lee J. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cambria cemetery.

Jean was born on July 4, 1928, in Waupun, the daughter of Josephine Lauzon. She was married to Clifford C. Fietz on Oct. 11, 1947, in Beaver Dam, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1972. She then was married to John W. David on June 1, 1973, in Beaver Dam, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1999.

Jean was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Randolph High School. She was a member of Randolph Ev. Free Church, a member of the World Organization of China Painters, and a member of the Columbia County Homemakers Club.

Survivors include one son, Donald (Patricia) Fietz Sr., Fitchburg, Mass.; one daughter, Janice (David) Paul, Randolph; four grandchildren, Donald Fietz Jr. ( special friend Shelley Testa), Fitchburg, Mass., Scott (Sarah) Fietz, Daniel Paul (special friend Jessica Klipfel), and Luann Paul, all of Randolph; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Corrine (Robert) Hammer, and Ethel Bilke, both of Beaver Dam; one brother, Harold Kempfer Jr., San Antonio, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her mother, Josephine, and her step-father, Harold Kempfer Sr.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Randolph Ev. Free Church, and on Friday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Harry E. Meier
Harry E. Meier, 77, of 128 Bogart St., Beaver Dam, was tragically taken from his family on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Harry was born on Sept. 5, 1925, in Dodge County, the son of Candidus and Frieda (Ganz) Meier. He was married to Mary Groling on April 14, 1951, at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Harry was a farmer for many years, then was employed with Kirsh Foundry for 23 years and was presently employed with Arctic Fisherman Co. of Beaver Dam. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam and was active as an usher. He was a lifelong bowler, bowling in many different leagues. He enjoyed being busy.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, Beaver Dam; his children, Helen (Michael) Voit, Lindenhurst, Ill., David (Cindy) Meier, Beaver Dam, and Donna Meier, Beaver Dam; three sisters, Elizabeth Schultz, Beaver Dam, twin sister, Hilda (Roland) Poetter, Beaver Dam, and Marion (Merwyn) Birkholz, Waupun; two brothers, Ervin Meier, Columbus, and Joe (Pat) Meier, Florida; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law; and three brothers, Harold, Gerhard and Carl.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

LaVern M. Klug
COLUMBUS - LaVern M. Klug, 80, of Columbus, died on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ, Columbus. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

LaVern was born on July 29, 1922, in Reeseville, the son of Rudolph and Margaret (Nagler) Klug. He was married to Joan Westphal in 1952, in Columbus.

LaVern worked on various farms, then at the former Borden Co., Columbus, until its closing. He then workd for the Columbia County Highway Department until his retirement. He got great pleasure from helping people, and will be greatly missed for the many years, along with his wife Joan, that he assisted people in many ways. He will be greatly missed by the people with the Meals on Wheels program for the many years of service. In the summer months he worked at Little Amerikca, always enjoying working with the children. He dearly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, spending much time with them. He was a charter member of the Columbus Lions Club. Each day he took his dog on long walks in Columbus, and people will miss seeing and chatting with him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Joan; two sons, Keith (Jackie) Klug, LaMar, Mo., and Dean Klug, Marshall; two daughters, Betty Klug, Columbus, and Lori (Russell) Livingston, Beaver Dam; a special nephew who they raised as their own, Bill (Lisa) Westphal; four grandchildren, Jonathan Klug, Katy Livinston, Brianna and Meghan Westphal; two brothers, LeRoy (Charlotte) Klug, Beaver Dam, and Melvin Klug, Spartanburg, S.C.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie and Diane, and two brothers, Alfred and Lawrence Klug.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Olivet Congregational United Church of Christ, Columbus.

The Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus, is serving the family.
