Rev. Harry A. McKinney
Rev. Harry A. McKinney, 81, of Beaver Dam, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m., at the Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Dam. The Revs. Robert Johnson, Bill Lytell and Bill Bennett (Harry's nephew) will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam with graveside military rites provided by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146.

Harry was born on April 4, 1921, the son of James F. and Flossie I. (Baines) McKinney, Virden, Ill., He was married to Naomi Louise Bennett on Sept. 27, 1939, in Aurora, Ill.

Harry was a graduate of East Aurora High School in Aurora, Ill., where he excelled in athletics. He attended Augustana College and entered the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II. After returning home from the war, he and his wife, Naomi were saved in 1949. From there, he entered Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and graduated in 1954. He served as pastor at many churches including: Farmington, Iowa, from 1953-1956; Belmont, Iowa, from 1956-1962; Barron, from 1962-1967; Beaver Dam, from 1967-1974; Red Bluff, Calif., from 1974-1980; Bonita Springs, Fla., from 1980-1992, and Sheboygan, from 1994-1996. Upon retiring from the ministry, he and his wife moved back to Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi, Beaver Dam; four children, Bunny (Paul) Phillips, Mt. Vernon, Ill., Jeffrey (Dotty) McKinney, Peru, Ill., Susan (Don) Frolik, Rice Lake, and Candace (David) Patzelberger, Beaver Dam; one sister, Bernice Nodruff, Fort Myers, Fla; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sandra Johnson; one brother, James LaVerne McKinney, and twin great-granddaughters, Anna and Madison McKinney.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from noon until the time of service at the Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Donald A. Zabel
Donald A. Zabel, 56, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Reeseville, died on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m., at Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville. Burial will be in Reeseville cemetery.

Donald was born on Oct. 6, 1946, in Watertown, the son of Hilmer and Mary (Bush) Zabel. He was married to Marilyn Heinzelman on June 26, 1971, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Lake Mills.

Donald was a 1966 graduate of Watertown High School. He then served in the U.S. Marines from 1966-1969, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He was a member of the Lowell VFW and Watertown Conservation Club. He worked at Specialty Cheese in Lowell for over 20 years. He then worked at Kreilkamp Trucking in Horicon for over five years and was currently employed with Kirsh Foundry.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Zabel, Beaver Dam; two daughters, Tammy Przekurat and Tina Zabel, both of Beaver Dam; one son, James Zabel, Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, Jesse and Spencer Przekurat, and Shannon, Patrick and Tyler Zabel; two brothers, Michael Zabel, Juneau, and Gerald (Darlene) Zabel of Fort Atkinson; two sisters, Sandra Zabel, Fort Atkinson, and Susan (John) Weinberger, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of the prayer service, at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Reeseville.

Cecil P. Brooks
Cecil P. Brooks, 86, of N7699 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key officiated. Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery.

Cecil was born on Aug. 18, 1916, in the town of Courtland, Columbia County, the son of Albert and Irene (O'Brion) Brooks. He was married to Effie "Dolly" M. Matthews on July 8, 1939.

Cecil was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his children, Carol Nampel, Juneau, Richard (Patti) Brooks, Lester (Phyllis) Brooks, Dennis (Teresa Olson) Brooks, and Joan Winkie, all of Beaver Dam, Stephen (Donna) Brooks, Prairie du Sac, Jane (Joseph) Callies, and Paul Brooks, Beaver Dam; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Effie "Dolly" in 1984; one son-in-law, Ken Nampel; two brothers, Milton in 1983 and Gilbert in 2001, and one great-grandson.

Friends called on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

James C. McMillan
James C. "Jim" McMillan, 86, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam, with closing services from the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. William Key officiated. Military graveside service were conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 at St. Patrick's cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Mr. McMillan was born on Nov. 11, 1916, in Dodge County, the son of Ralph and Margaret (Fitzgerald) McMillan. He was married to Dorothy Dillman on Nov. 22, 1947.

Mr. McMillan was a 1935 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from July 22, 1940 to July 22, 1946, during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and also served on the USS Minneapolis. He was a life member and past commander of the Clarence Keske VFW Post 1163 and a member of John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 of Beaver Dam. He was also a member of the 40 and 8 Dodge County Voiture Locale 856, and a proud past commander of the Marine Corp. League. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council 1837 in Beaver Dam. He worked as a carpenter for over 30 years, both self-employed and for area companies. He worked at Fox Lake Correctional as a vocational instructor in carpentry for over 10 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy McMillan, Beaver Dam; five children, Gregory (Audrey) McMillan, Beaver Dam, Christine (William) Robbins, Madison, Michael "Mac" (special friend Cheryl Klinger) McMillan, Randolph, James (special friend Vicki Nelson) McMillan, Randolph, and Angela (Randy) Howard, Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jonathan and Aaron Robbins, Gregory Jr. and Megan McMillan, Sara and Connor Howard; two sisters-in-law, LaRaine Chapman, Sun Prairie, and Marie Chapman, Tucson, Ariz.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Gerald McMillan and Morris McMillan.

Friends called on Monday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 10 to 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, served the family.

Orabell R. Madigan
RANDOLPH - Orabell R. Madigan, 82, of Randolph, died on Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Continental Manor, Randolph.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 a.m., at Annunciation Catholic Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. Michael Wild will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph cemetery, village of Randolph.

Orabell was born on Dec. 5, 1920, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of I.K. and Rose (Bushman) Mayr. She was married to Russell G. Madigan on Jan. 29, 1942, in Beaver Dam.

Orabell was a 1939 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She worked for Educators Progress Service in Randolph for many years. She was an officer in the St. Gabriel's Christian Mothers Society, a member of the Randolph Homemakers Club and a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake. She enjoyed gardening, family, friends and traveling.

Survivors include four children, Kay (Robert) Trebatoski, York, Pa., Sandra Mersch, Beaver Dam, Patrick (Judy) Madigan, Dalton, and Sharon Madigan, Howards Grove; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Jaycox, Randolph; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell on Nov. 2, 1966; one sister and one brother in infancy; one brother and sister-in-law, Al (Maxine) Mayr; one sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Lloyd) Friday; two brothers-in-law, Edward Madigan and Russell Jaycox, and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred (Paul) Johnson.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Randolph Community Funeral Home in Randolph, and on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Annunciation Catholic Church, Fox Lake.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2323 N. Mayfair Road, Suite 502, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.

Ruth E. Mohr
CAMBRIA - Ruth E. Mohr, 77, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2003, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m., at the Rosedale Presbyterian Church, town of Scott. The Rev. Merle Bartels will officiate. A fellowship luncheon will immediately follow. A private family committal service will be held in Cambria cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Rosedale Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Rosedale Presbyterian Church.

Roger B. Thomas
COLUMBUS - Roger B. "Tom" Thomas, 77, died on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, while vacationing in Fort Myers, Fla., surrounded by his loving family.

A combined Masonic and memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2003, at 2:30 p.m., at the Columbus United Methodist Church, Columbus. The Revs. Carol Hermann and Jared Wendt will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus, at a later date.

Tom was born on May 15, 1925, in Columbus, the son of T.B. and Blodwyn (Pugh) Thomas. He was married to Joan Kaasa on Aug. 28, 1948.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Columbus. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II from 1943-1946 as a hospital corpsman. He received his bachelor of business administration degree from Denver University in 1950. After graduating from college, he worked for the Kaasa Seed Co. He began a long-standing career at Farmers and Merchants Union Bank in 1961 and was currently serving as chairman of the board and president of Jewel Box Financial Services Inc. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbus, where he was an elder and member of the choir. He was a member of the Columbus Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post 62, the Zor Shrine, and Columbus Masonic Lodge F&AM 75. He also served on the Columbus School Board and the Industrial Development Corp.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joan, Columbus; two daughters, Sharol (William) Schwass, Wheaton, Ill., and Elizabeth (Thomas) Ludwig, McFarland; one son, R. William, Kennett Square, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lissa and Cassie Schwass, and Fred and Evan Ludwig; two sisters, Elizabeth (Earl) Kunn, Billings, Mont., and Margaret P. Thomas, Madison; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 1, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Columbus; the Columbus Community Hospital Building Fund or the charity of one's choice.

Marcella A. Hildebrandt
MAYVILLE - Marcella A. Hildebrandt, 89, of W1328 Highway 33, Mayville, died on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m., at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman. The Rev. Kenneth M. Bittorf will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Theresa.

Marcella was born on Jan. 13, 1914, in Washington County, the daughter of William and Emma (Handel) Wendorff. She was married to Adolph Hildebrandt on July 14, 1934, in Hartford.

Marcella, together with her husband, farmed in the town of Herman. She was a member of Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman, and a member of Emmanuel Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her children, Jane Ulrich, Horicon, Earl (Eugenie) Hildebrandt, Whitefish Bay, and Bonnie (Warren) Howe, Star Prairie; three sisters, Eunice Beck, Theresa, Pearl (Rueben) Bintzler, Mequon, and Jeanette (Jerry) Schellpfeffer, Cottage Grove; one brother, Earl (Lucille) Wendorf, Mayville; one sister-in-law, Virginia Wendorff, Iron Ridge; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adolph in 1990; three brothers; one son-in-law, Al, in 1992.

Friends may call on Friday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Herman.

Mildred Griepentrog
WAUPUN - Mildred Griepentrog, 93, a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun, died on Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at the nursing home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Mike Moran will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery, Waupun.

Mildred was born on April 6, 1909, in Coleman, the daughter of the late Charles and Loda (Perkie) Clover. She was married to Irvin "Bill" Griepentrog on Feb. 20, 1933, at Waukegan, Ill.

Mildred was a graduate of the class of 1928 from Waupun High School. She and her husband resided in Waupun most of their married life, where she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Brown, Dallas, Texas, and Joyce (Tom) Funck, Middleton; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, and two brothers.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 3, from 9:30 until the time of service at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Christian Home for their special care to their mother and grandmother.

Corliss W. Dohmann
MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. - Corliss William Dohmann, 81, of Mohave Valley, Ariz., died on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, in Needles, Calif.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reeseville. The Rev. L. Holtz will officiate. Burial will be in the Lowell cemetery, Lowell. Graveside military rites will be provided by Lowell VFW Post 9392.

Mr. Dohmann was a retired teacher and professor. He served his country in the U.S. Army for three years.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Dohmann, Mohave Valley, Ariz.; one son, Paul Dohmann, Anaheim, Calif.; one brother, Donald Dohmann, Beaver Dam; one grandson, Michael Dohmann, Anaheim, Calif.; one granddaughter, Kelly Pena, Anaheim, Calif.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
