Ronald W. Bartol
Ronald W. Bartol, 68, of Beaver Dam, and Tucson, Ariz., died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Tucson, Ariz.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

Ronald was born on July 27, 1934, in Green Lake, and moved to Beaver Dam at the age of 10. He was the son of Walter A. and Sadie A. (Markofski) Bartol. He was united in marriage with Joyce A. Feeley on July 14, 1956, in Beaver Dam. Ron and Joyce have five children and 16 grandchildren.

Ronald was a 1952 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He was a master of many trades and retired at an early age, as he possessed an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a true 'snow bird' - for the last 23 years, spending summers in Wisconsin and winters in Arizona. He believed in doing everything himself including the construction of a home addition, roofing, laying concrete, along with being the barber to the neighborhood boys and doing the family's shopping. He loved anything with an engine. His hobbies included many years of travel, cars, RV's, boating, motorcycles, sand trails and even snowmobiling. No one was better than Ronald at defensive driving - a skill he constantly drove home to his children and grandchildren. However, all of his defensive driving skills could not save him this last time. He died happy, on the road, with his Honda Helix beneath him.

Ronald had been active in many organizations, beginning with president of the Beaver Dam Jaycees, president of the Prevost Prouds, national director of the Family Motor Coach Association and the national director of the Bus 'n Bikers Group.

Ronald is survived and sorely missed by his wife, Joyce; one son, Timothy (Julie) Bartol, Beaver Dam; four daughters, Roxanne (Dan) Braker, Beaver Dam, Suzanne (Timothy) Holbach, Beaver Dam, Sharanne Gross, Tucson, Ariz., and Julanne (Joseph) DeMarco, Tucson, Ariz.

The most cherished gifts in Grandpa Ronny's life were his 16 grandchildren, Katy, Ben, Josey, Ashlyn, Robb, Melissa, Heather, Matthew, Vanessa, Kassandra, Afton, Brian, Cody, Nick, Brandon and Dylan. He is also survived by one brother, Conrad J. (Betty) Bartol, Neshkoro; one sister, Georgine (Richard) Wagener, Madison; one sister-in-law, Juanita (Howard) Cigelske, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father- and mother-in-law, Lester and Ruth Feeley.
