Lawrence Schouten
WAUPUN - Lawrence Schouten, 81, resided with his daughter, Marsha, since 1993, at 211 E. Franklin St., Waupun, died on Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m., at Waupun Baptist Church, Waupun. The Rev. Gene Green will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.

Lawrence was born on April 24, 1921, in the town of Chester, Dodge County, the son of Ira and Elizabeth (Vande Berg) Schouten. He was married to Alieta R. Hopp on april 22, 1947, in Waupun, at the home of Alieta’s sister.

Lawrence was a lifelong area resident. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army as a ambulance driver 345th. He was the recipent of the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Ribbon, and the American Theater Service Ribbon. He was a very faithful member of the Waupun Baptist Church, attending services and adult Sunday school faithfully. He was on the board of the Fox Valley Child Ev. Fellowship for many years. He was a custodian for the Waupun School District for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. Following retirement He was a crossing guard for a number of years at the corners of East Jefferson and South Watertown streets. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren and working on cars. He introduces his grandchildren to roller skating and loved teaching them how to skate.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha A. Leberak, and Mary (Gerald) Meyer, both of Waupun; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alieta on April 18, 2000; his parents, and two sisters, Dorothy Voskuil and Irene Kastein.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and again on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Waupun Baptist Church, Waupun.

Memorials may be made to Waupun Baptist Church, and Fox Valley Child Evangelism Fellowship.

The Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, is servng the family.

Samuel H. Wiersma
RANDOLPH - Samuel H. Wiersma, 88, of Randolph, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, March 14, 2003, at Continental Manor, Randolph.

The funeral was held on Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m., at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph. The Rev. James Admiraal officiated. Burial was in Randolph cemetery.

Samuel was born on May 12, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., the son of John and Nellie (Van Swol) Wiersma. He was married to Jeanette Douma on Aug. 12, 1938, at the First Randolph Christian Reformed Church.

Samuel as a young man served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He farmed in the area for many years. He was a member of the second Christian Reformed Church and served as an elder of the church.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanette; four sons, James (Ruth) Wiersma, Green Bay, Richard (Bonnie) Wiersma, Hudsonville, Mich., Lawrence (Susan) Wiersma, Sanford, Mich., and Peter (Julane) Wiersma, Zeeland, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Genevieve (Al) Pawlik, Chicago, Ill.; two half-brothers, Lester (Eileen) Wiersma, Randolph, and Gerrit Wiersma, Chicago, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Burdette; one brother, Henry Wiersma; one infant granddaughter; two infant great-grandsons, and his parents.

Friends called on Sunday, March 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Randolph Community Funeral Home, and on Monday, March 17, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, request that memorials be given to the family and will be sent to Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.

Erwin E. Jacobitz
WAUPUN - Erwin E. Jacobitz, 86, of Waupun, died on Sunday, March 16, 2003, at the Christian Home of Waupun.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 11 a.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Martin W. Schulz will officiate. Burial will be in Brandon cemetery, with full military honors by the American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.

Erwin was born on Dec. 15, 1916, in the town of Metomen, Fond du Lac County, the son of Emil and Amanda (Galow) Jacobitz. He was married to Lucille Warnke in August 1950, in Port Washington.

Erwin served with the U.S. Army 6th Division Infantry, from 1941-1945. He was station in Luzon and New Guinea. He was a member of VFW Post 9469 of West Allis. He was a truck driver for Barry Trucking for 11 years and for Schwerman Trucking for 31 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 200 for 50 years. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Milwaukee.

Survivors include one brother, Raymond Jacobitz, Fond du Lac; one sister, Anita Maroch, Mayville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, on Sept. 30, 2001; his parents; two brothers, Harold and Lermont, and two sisters, Hazel and Dorothy.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun.

John H. Kraus Sr.
CALAMUS TOWNSHIP - John H. Kraus Sr., 56, of Calamus township, died on Monday, March 17, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Emmanuel Udo will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.

John was born on Aug. 26, 1946, in Beaver Dam, the son of Herman and Anna (O'Connor) Kraus.

John worked for the Stokley Van Camp Co. in Beaver Dam, as a field representative for many years and also farmed in the town of Calamus for many years. He was hard working, loved the outdoors and hunting. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Packer fan.

Survivors include five children, John H.P. (Melissa) Kraus Jr., Beaver Dam, Patricia A. (Chad) Knoll, Beaver Dam, Daniel J. (Amy Bartholomew) Kraus, Beaver Dam, Kenneth L. Kraus, Tennessee, and Anna M. (Dan Pamenter) Kraus, Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Lindsey and Allison Knoll, and Alexandria Kraus; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Kraus on Oct. 17, 1993, and an infant grandson, Robert Kraus.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Wednesday, March 19, from noon until the time of service at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Wilburn E. Franklin
On March 17, 2003, our grandpa Gene went to join his heavenly family.

Left behind are his wife, our grandma, Shirley; his daughter, Debby (Chuck); his only grandson, Jae (Sherri); two granddaughters, Lisa and Heidi (Brian), and seven wonderful great-grandchildren, Jason, Chelsea, Sean, CJ, Lakota, Brianna and Madison.

Knowing and having such a wonderful grandpa has been a blessing from God.

Until we meet again Grandpa, we will always love you with all our hearts.

A continuous celebration of Grandpa's life will be held at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, March 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in Union Grove at the Veteran's Memorial cemetery on Thursday, March 20.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Hillside Hospice Care.

Ruth E. Ketelhut
Ruth E. Ketelhut, 79, of N7479 Highway TW, Horicon, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Hartford Memorial Hospital, Hartford.

Funeral services are pending with Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Theresa F. Vollmer
LEROY - Theresa F. Vollmer, 90, formerly of LeRoy, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Hope Nursing Home, Lomira.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrew cemetery, LeRoy.

Theresa was born on June 11, 1912, in LeRoy, the daughter of Peter and Margarete (Hackenbach) Hinkes. She was married to Edmund Vollmer on June 20, 1936, in LeRoy.

Theresa was a lifetime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, and a lifetime member of St. Andrew's Christian Mothers. She played the organ at the church for 50 years.

Survivors include three children, Claude (Kathleen "Jo") Vollmer, Fond du Lac, Ronald (Rose) Vollmer, West Bend, and Joyce Ann Hechimovich, Mayville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund, in 1987; two sisters and six brothers.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 22, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, LeRoy, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Dr. William A. Wagner
Dr. William A. Wagner, 77, of Neshkoro, formerly of Waupun, died on Friday, March 21, 2003, at Heartland House, Wautoma.

Memorial services are pending with Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Bertha F. Goodearle
MAYVILLE - Bertha F. Goodearle, 90, of 305 S. Clark St., Mayville, died on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mayville.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m., at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Highway 33, town of Herman. The Rev. Kenneth M. Bittorf will officiate. Burial will be in Union cemetery, Theresa.

Bertha was born on March 21, 1913, in Hartland, the daughter of William and Wilhelmine (Lierck) Janke. She was married to Louis F. Goodearle on June 2, 1934, in Ixonia.

Bertha attended Green Valley School in the town of Ixonia in Jefferson County through the eighth grade. She and her husband, Louis, resided for many years in the former Black Oak School located in the town of Herman. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in her garden.

Survivors include one son, Eugene L. (Ruth) Goodearle, Horicon; three grandchildren, Glenn (Marna) Goodearle, West Bend, Sheryl (Michael) Sharp, Milwaukee, and Sharon (David) Brand, Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis, in 1992; two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, town of Herman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Alvera Zimmer
RANDOLPH - Alvera Zimmer, 74, of Randolph, died on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at the Continental Manor.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 11 a.m., at the Randolph Ev. Free Church, 702 N. High St., Randolph. The Rev. Dr. Lee J. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Garden of the Last Supper, Brookfield.

Alvera was born on March 4, 1929, in Fountain Prairie township, Columbia County, the daughter of Peter and Dorothy (Wiersma) Kooistra. She was married to Lawrence Zimmer on Sept. 3, 1960, in Randolph.

Alvera was a 1947 Randolph High School graduate. She attended a beauty school in the Milwaukee area. She was employed with various salons in the Milwaukee area. Following her years as a beautician, She went back to business college in the Milwaukee area and became a bookkeeper and was employed with a flooring company in Milwaukee. Following the death of her husband, she moved back to the Randolph area to be near her family. She was a member of Randolph Ev. Free Church, Randolph, and enjoyed crocheting and baking her favorite angel food cakes.

Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude Schaalma, Juneau, and Pearl (Joe) Schicker, Ripon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on April 16, 1984; her parents, and one brother, Peter Kooistra.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26, at the Randolph Ev. Free Church, Randolph, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to the Randolph Ev. Free Church or the American Lung Association.

Agnes S. Larson
Agnes S. Larson, 96, of 405 North St., Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 28, at 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam.

Agnes was born on Aug. 7, 1906, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Otto annd Selma (Erlandson) Carlson. She was married to Allan H. Larson on June 12, 1926, in Chicago, Ill.

Agnes worked with her husband at the Larson Insurance Agency until retirement. She was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church and a member of the Altar Guild. She was a volunteer at Lakeview Nursing Home, a member of a quilting group and she also knitted for infants.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Charolette) Larson, Henderson, Nev.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan H. Larson; one daughter, Shirley Sundquist; and four brothers, Milton, William, Roy and George.

Friends may call on Friday, March 28, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to the First Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
