JUNEAU - Avis Uttech, 83, of Juneau, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 9, 2003, at 3 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

The Rev. Douglas Westenberg will officiate. Burial will be in Juneau City cemetery, Juneau.

Avis was born on Dec. 10, 1919, in Juneau, the daughter of Baldwin and Meta (Schrap) Kuntz.

She was married to Hilmer Uttech on June 29, 1957, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Avis attended St. John's Elementary Lutheran School and was a 1937 graduate of Juneau High School.

She then attended Wayland Academy for two years.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau, and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

She worked for her father at the Kuntz Ford Garage in Juneau, as the bookkeeper, and also at the Dairyland Dairy in Juneau and Ridge Motors in Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the historical society, serving as treasurer; and a member of the senior citizens group in Juneau. She and her husband had been members of the Silent Dodgers (sign language). She was an avid bowler with various teams and she enjoyed fishing. She had a cottage at Clubgrounds in Juneau.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Louise Baumgart, Juneau; two step-sons, Charles (Mary Jane) Uttech, Marathon, N.Y., and Frederick (Peggy) Uttech, Manitowoc; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; special close relatives, Gail (John) Hartman, Juneau, and their children, Natalie and Leah; Carla (Don) Rahn, Columbus, Sharon (Gary) Dent, Watertown, and John Rediske, Baltimore, Md.; two cousins, Virginia Rediske, Juneau, and Lorraine (John) Lyons, Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Eugenia Uttech, Watertown, and Esther Uttech, Watertown; two brothers-in-law, Frank (Elda) Uttech, West Bend, and Walter (Ruth) Uttech, Watertown; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hilmer on Dec. 4, 2000; one infant daughter; one stepson; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; one step son-in-law, and one cousin, Howard Hilgendorf.

Friends may call on Friday, May 9, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon, is serving the family.

Waldo D. Scott
FOX LAKE - Waldo D. "Erst" Scott, died on Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Fox Lake.

A memorial service will be held in Fox Lake and Fergus Falls, Minn., with the dates to be announced later.

Waldo was born on Aug. 4, 1939, in Fergus Falls, Minn., the son of Walter and Anna Scott.

Waldo's primary education was in Fergus Falls District 143, Riverdale, N.D. and completed in St. Paul, Minn. After a "goldmining exploration" trip to Alaska with his cousin Red Johnson, he began working Oct. 17, 1962 for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, where he continued to work as the general bridge inspector until his retirement on June 30, 1995.

Survivors include his faithful and loving companion of 26 years, Valerie Rux, Fox Lake; two daughters, Lesley (Mike) Harvey, Victoria, Minn., and Jill (Greg) Karm, Elgin, Ill.; two grandchildren, Camryn and Luke Harvey; his mother, Anna M. Scott, Battle Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Barbara (Joe) Hutchins, Palm Springs, Calif., and Darcey (Don) Pederson, Bend, Ore.; his caring and extended family of Joan Rux, Cindy, Joshua, Joseph Schultz and Roxanne (Mark) Kading, all of the Beaver Dam area; several very close cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many lifelong friends, good railroad buddies and other friends.

The family suggests any memorial donation be made to St. Agnes Hospital Hospice, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Sharon L. Banyasz
IRON RIDGE - Sharon L. Banyasz, 60, of N6280 E. Neda Road, Iron Ridge, died on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Hartford Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 1 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.

Sharon was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Zingsheim) Melichar. She was married to George Banyasz III on May 20, 1961, in West Allis.

Sharon was employed by and made many friends at Pillsbury Green Giant Canning Co., Mayville Metal Lee Precision and Pharmaceutical Inventory. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include five children, Tina (fiance Lee Mueller) Kaiser, Horicon, Brian (fiancee Rhonda Flejter) Banyasz, Neda, Lisa Banyasz, Scottsdale, Ariz., George "GB" Banyasz IV, Hartford, and Cindy (Eric) Melick, Bloomington, Ill.; George Banyasz III, Milwaukee; sisters and brothers, Darlene (Bob) Vidal, Roger (Carol) Melichar, Russell (Sharon) Melichar, Karen (Jim) Valona, and Keith (Lynn) Melichar; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca, Jamie and Jennifer Kaiser, Nicholas Banyasz, Travis, Joshua, Daniel and Christopher Melick, James and Holly Flejter, and Jennifer and Stacey Mueller; two great-grandsons, Austin and Quinn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; her mother-in-law, Florence Banyasz; one son, Todd, and one nephew, Kurt Vidal.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 7, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

Florence B. Voeltz
MAYVILLE - Florence B. Voeltz, 83, formerly of 241 Kekoskee St., Mayville, died on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 6, at 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville.

The Rev. Robert Marsh will officiate.

Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, Mayville.

Florence was born on May 20, 1919, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Leonard and Esther (Collien) Dohrman.

She was married to Emanuel "Manny" Voeltz on Sept. 17, 1938, in Mayville.

Florence was happily married for 58 years. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She enjoyed gardening, planting and caring for her flowers that created a beautiful setting for their home in Mayville, where she lived for many years.

She also enjoyed doing needlework.

She put on many miles walking to the park pavilion, where she really enjoyed many hours of dancing to the music of the polka bands.

Survivors include three children, Shirley Fischer, Woodland, Emanuel "Manny" Jr. (Marnette) Voeltz, Madison, and Bonnie (Thomas) Hischke, Madison; one sister, Mildred Ohrmundt, Watertown; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manny Sr. in 1997; one brother, Clarence Dohrman, and one sister, Lucille, Neuman.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 6, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Clearview Employee Appreciation Fund, Clearview Long Term Care and Rehabilitation, Clearview South, 198 Home Road, Juneau, WI 53039.

Rueben Kamphuis
WAUPUN - Rueben Kamphuis, 80, of Waupun, died on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will follow in Alto cemetery, where military graveside services will be provided by American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.

Rueben was born on June 13, 1922, the son of Rein and Allie (Westhuis) Kamphuis.

He was married to Helen Veleke on Sept. 12, 1946.

Rueben enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, where he served in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was awarded three Battle Stars and Metals for outstanding bravery and good conduct.

He and his wife farmed in the Alto area and he was also employed at Fox Lake Correctional until his retirement in 1980, due to health.

The couple moved to the city of Waupun in 1988.

He was an avid sports fan and participated in softball and bowling often.

He was a former member of the Alto Reformed Church, Alto, where he served as deacon.

He has been a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun, since residing in Waupun.

He was a former member of the American Legion Post 210 of Waupun and the Waupun Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Kamphuis, Waupun; two sons, Russell (Sue) Kamphuis, Palm City, Fla., and Robert (Connie) Kamphuis, Janesville; three daughters, Shirley (Ron) Kastein, Delavan, LuAnn (Calvin) Buwalda, Waupun, and Beth (Mike) Dittmann, Waupun; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Andy (Marjorie) Kamphuis, Pella, Iowa, and Alton (Erna) Kamphuis, Sheboygan, and one sister-in-law, Esther Kamphuis, Waupun.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon Kamphuis, and one infant sister.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Wednesday, May 7, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the First Reformed Church, Waupun.

A family memorial has been established in his name.

Gladys E. Klimke
WAUPUN - Gladys E. Klimke, 82, of Waupun, and formerly of Beaver Dam and Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at her son's home in Waupun.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 11 .m., at Trinity Church United Methodist Church, Beaver Dam.

The Rev. Eileen Kuehnl will officiate.

Burial will be in Eastside cemetery, Montello.

Gladys was born on Sept. 17, 1920, in Oshkosh, the daughter of August and Minnie (Klineschmidt) Dahl.

She was married to Kenneth K. Klimke on Sept. 25, 1965, in Waupun.

Gladys was a graduate of Waupun High School.

She was employed at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital as a nursing assistant for 13 years and prior to that she was employed at National Rivet in Waupun.

She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist Church involved in the Mission Commission and the Women's Circle Group of the church.

Survivors include one son, Tim (Maddy) Dahl, Waupun; two grandchildren, Missy (Craig) Hull, Waupun, and Todd Dahl, Denver, Colo.; one great-grandson, Owen Hull, Waupun; one brother, Orville (Josephine) Dahl, Beaver Dam; one sister, Hazel Bell, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1991; one sister, Lucille Gilmore, and one brother, Earl Dahl.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 3, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Trinity Church United Methodist Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Church United Methodist Church, Beaver Dam, or to the Hillside Hospice Program.

Leo A. Kaiser
WAUPUN - Leo A. Kaiser, 88, formerly of Waupun, died on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at King Veterans Home.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m., at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, Green Lake.

The Rev. Gary Zacharias will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Leo was born on Nov. 24, 1914, the son of Conrad and Elizabeth (Trott) Kaiser.

He was married to Thelma Geidel on Oct. 11, 1936.

Leo served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served with the Second Division Marines as a Navy medic.

He worked as a guard at Central State Hospital and in his retirement, he worked as a custodian for Electric Wire, Waupun.

He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 210 in Waupun, the Waupun VFW and the DAV.

He loved to garden and will be remembered by many area residents for his delicious tomatoes.

He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching turkeys. He was a life-long avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Wayne) Fox, Markesan; one son, Steven (Vicki) Kaiser, Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Debra (Mike) Dulas, Sun Prairie, Dixie (Wayne) Gaastra, Randolph, Kathy (Rick) Wargula, Waupun, Dean (Julie) Schultz, Waupun, Dan Schultz, West Virginia, and Richard Schultz, Wauwatosa; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille (Robert) Wischnewski, Fond du Lac; two brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Kaiser, Rosendale, and Walter (Doris) Kaiser, Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1988, and one daughter, Patricia in 1990.

Friends may call on Monday, May 5, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, Green Lake.

Memorials may be made to King Veterans Home or King Hospice Program.

Mary Ann Kunz
Mary Ann Kunz, 57, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Hillside Hospital (now Beaver Dam Community Hospital), Beaver Dam.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to noon, at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Juneau.

The funeral will follow at noon.

The Rev. Carol Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Juneau City cemetery.

Mary was born on Feb. 6, 1946, in Juneau, the daughter of Johannes and Charlotte (Von Allmen) Kunz.

Mary was an LPN and retired from Hillside Manor Nursing Home after 35 years of service.

She was a past member of WLPN and served as secretary for many years.

She was a long time member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Juneau.

Survivors include two brothers, John Kunz, Beaver Dam, and Charles (Virginia) Egli, Fond du Lac; two sisters, Cora (Harold) Moylan, Beaver Dam, and Elizabeth Priewe, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Gordon Priewe; one niece and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Stephens UCC would be appreciated.

The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Juneau, is serving the family.
