Judy A. Horn
BIG BEND - Judy A. Horn began her next journey Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. She was born in Lake Denoon on Jan. 19, 1939, to Raymond and Eleanor (nee Zunker) Scherbarth.

Judy was a bookkeeper for Horn Feeds in Mukwonago and a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Big Bend.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; her children, Diane (Robert) Spoden of Elkhorn, Laurie (Jerry) Swan of West Allis, Brian (Karren) Wendt of East Troy and Amy (Brian) Dorband of the town of Vernon; her stepchildren, Lonnie (John) Clure of Menasha, Richard (Kathy) Horn of Waterford, Sandy (Fred) Weidenbauer of Eagle River and Ben (Amy) Horn of the town of Vernon; her mother, Eleanor Scherbarth of Ridge Manor, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica, Jacob and Nicole Swan, DesireŽ Wendt, Raymond Dorband, Fred and Nathan Weidenbauer, Cheyenne and Dylan Clure, and Mitch, Rachel, Lydia and Natalie Horn; a sister, Joan (Wayne) Schwartzman of Hancock; a brother, Charles Scherbarth of Ridge Manor, Fla.; her pets, Oscar and Dufus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her father, Raymond, preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago. The Rev. Reinhart Kom will officiate.

Memorials to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital intensive care unit would be appreciated.

Gilman E. Radcliffe
EAGLE - Gilman E. Radcliffe, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Burlington. He was born Feb. 15, 1910, in Irving, to James and Mary (nee McCreddon) Radcliffe.

He was retired from Waukesha Motor Co. after 30 years of employment and was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Waukesha Engine Old Timer’s Club and the Eagle Historical Society.

He is survived by his son, Phillip (Angie) Radcliffe of Arcadia, Fla.; his daughter, Wendy (Michael) Kasmarick of Mukwonago; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Jane Radcliffe of Brookfield; three brothers, John (Ione), Ken (Joyce) and Zeke; and two sisters, Shirley (Gil) and Betty. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys, and his son, Thomas.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Mealy’s Funeral Home in Eagle, 103 Eagle St. Cremation will follow.

Memorials to the Waukesha Humane Society are appreciated.

George Rellatz
MUKWONAGO - George Rellatz of Mukwonago passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Heartland Health Care Center in Pewaukee at the age of 84. He was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 31, 1916, to Steven and Lina (nee Steiger) Rellatz.

George served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a retiree of Imprex Corp. in West Allis. George was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #7221 and American Legion Post #375, both in Mukwonago. George loved to bowl, play horseshoes and ride Harleys.

He is survived by four daughters, Faye (James) Sheehan of Pewaukee, Patricia Mitchell of Mukwonago, Joanne (Raymond) Toetz of Waukesha and Barbara (Dennis) Schroeder of Fort Atkinson; a brother, John (Ruby) Rellatz of Merton; a sister, Viola Hoffman of Hartland; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sylvia; his second wife, Hester; a brother, Steven Rellatz; and a sister, Erna Davis.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago. The Rev. Dan David will officate. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll cemetery in Mukwonago.

Barbara J. Pucci
OCONOMOWOC - Barbara J. Pucci (nee Hasselkus), 66, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dousman on Sept. 5, 1934, to Robert and Irene (nee Genrich) Hasselkus.

Barbara was born and raised in Dousman, attended Carroll College and was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. On Feb. 9, 1957, she married Joseph Pucci and moved to her present home on Lower Nashotah Lake. She managed the Stony Hill Stables in Pewaukee and for many years was an active member of the American Saddlebred Association of Wisconsin. Barbara was also active for 30 years in the Lower Nashotah Lake Association.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Dr. Joseph Pucci; her son, Dr. Anthony (Nina) Pucci of Ludington, Mich.; her daughter, Lisa Pucci of Oconomowoc; her grandson, Dominic Pucci; her sister-in-law, Ann Hasselkus of Oconomowoc; her niece, Lynn (Manuel) Galeng of Elm Grove; her nephew, Rob Hasselkus of Milwaukee; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Hasselkus.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E. Summit Ave., Highway 67, Oconomowoc. A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 6 p.m. The Rev. Ralph Schultz will officiate. Interment will be in the Town of Summit cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County are suggested.

WAUKESHA - Ruth Schroeder, 88, died today, Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at The Waters of Westmoreland Health Care Center. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home West on Moreland Boulevard, 542-6609.

Oscar K. ‘George’ Stuberg
BROOKFIELD - Oscar K. "George" Stuberg, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Woodland Health Care Center in Brookfield. He was born April 18, 1906, in Lake Nebagamon in Douglas County, son of the late Martin Albert and Anna (nee Nelson) Stuberg. He married Agnes Towalson, and on March 24, 1940, he married May Wildish. He was a painter at Aqua-chem. He and his wife, May, loved square dancing and taught it for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, May, who died May 19, 1995; two sons, LeVerne and LeRoy Wildish; his brothers, Manford and William Stuberg; his sisters, Dolores and Myrtle; and his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Stuberg.

George is survived by his daughter, Lena Rammelt of Jefferson; a son, Layne Stuberg of Sullivan; a sister, Violet Krych of Little Falls, Minn.; three grandchildren, Sally (Neil) Roth of Helenville, Sandra (Roger) Dally of Union Grove and Kathy Wildish of New York City; a great-grandchild, Diane Dally of Union Grove; a niece, Linda (Jerome) Siedl of Waukesha; as well as other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for George will be held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 29, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home-West on Moreland Boulevard. The Rev. Frank Gaylord, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Waukesha, will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Home cemetery in Waukesha.

Robert Joseph Kramer
BELLA VISTA, Ark. - Robert Joseph Kramer, 42, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 28, 1958, to William and Patricia Kramer.

He moved to Bella Vista three years ago from Waukesha. He was a 1980 graduate of Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill. He enjoyed billiards, golf, fishing and hunting. He was a systems consultant for Keane Incorporated, formerly known as G.E. Medical Systems, for 12 years.

He is survived by his parents, William R. Kramer and Patricia L. Kramer of Bella Vista; his paternal grandmother, Emma L. Kramer of Elcho; two daughters, Jessica L. Kramer of Sheboygan and Michelle A. Kramer of Sheboygan; one brother, William F. Kramer of Waukesha; three sisters, Andrea L. Brew of Richmond, Va., Jeannette M. Bjerke of Waukesha and Patricia L. Koscinski of Big Bend; one niece and three nephews.

A Memorial Mass for Robert will be held 2 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Regional Hospice, 4241 Gabel Drive, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6350 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

Harriet G. Gundrum
PEWAUKEE - Harriet G. Gundrum, 88, of Pewaukee, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Heartland Health Care Center in Pewaukee. She was born May 15, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harry J. and Grace (nee Covert) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hartman F. Gundrum, who died June 6, 1981, and her son-in-law, Arthur Curren.

Harriet is survived by her daughter, Carol Curren of Waukesha; grandson Christopher A. Curren of Milwaukee; four brothers and sisters, Ruth Babbit of Garfield, N.J., David (Doris) Jenkins of Ocala, Fla., Geraldine (Joseph) Hirtz of Crystal River, Fla., and J. Harry (Wanda) Jenkins of Lakehurst, N.J.; along with other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation or service for Harriet, according to her wishes.

Josephine M. Czeskleba
OCONOMOWOC - Josephine M. Czeskleba, 91, of Waukesha died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at her son’s home in Oconomowoc. She was born May 29, 1909, in Fort Atkinson to Fred and Luella Dieckhoff. She was a graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, class of 1927. Mrs. Czeskleba attended Beloit College and was a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, class of 1931. While at Lawrence University, she was a member of Delta Gamma, a national social sorority, the Sunset Players Drama Club and a the National Collegiate Players, a national honorary dramatic fraternity.

Mrs. Czeskleba taught at various schools around the state including schools in Waupaca, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Beaver Dam, Whitefish Bay, Ripon and Waukesha. She taught for 31 years, including 20 years in Waukesha.

She was past president of the Waukesha Teachers Association, past president of the Eta chapter of Delta and past president of Kappa Gamma, an honorary international society of teachers.

After her retirement in 1973, she was a civil service examiner for the federal government for eight years. She was also a member of the Waukesha County Retired Teachers Association. She was very active in the Waukesha community with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.), Meals on Wheels and through jury duty. She was the elections clerk at the sixth ward polls for 10 years, a member of the work staff for the Waukesha sesquicentennial, a volunteer at Avalon Manor and past president of the Friends of the Waukesha Library.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons, William (Chris) Czeskleba of Oconomowoc and Dr. Robert (Lou) Grayson of Eau Claire. She is further survived by two grandsons, Nate and Kit Grayson, both of Eau Claire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Czeskleba, and sister, Ruth McCarty.

According to Mrs. Czeskleba’s wishes, there will be no services. Memorial gifts may be directed to Friends of the Waukesha Library, 321 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, or to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park, Waukesha, WI 53188.

Dorothy E. Mutch
WAUKESHA - Dorothy E. Mutch (nee Barkow), lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2000, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David W. Mutch, and her sister, Ethel S. Gagan.

She was the loving aunt of Nancy (Ron) Abrahamson of Waukesha, Marion (Martin) Dwarkin of Silver Spring, Md., Bill (Claire) Gagan of Fletcher, N.C., Dr. Richard (Sara) Gagan of Tampa, Fla., Enid (Earl) Mellen of Richland Center and Rosemarie (Robert) Carthew of Palmyra, N.Y. She was the dear great aunt of Chris (Laurie) Abrahamson, Ann Abrahamson, Tim (Laura) Abrahamson, Carrie LaBrie, Marion (Gene) Piscatelli, Pattty Pieper, Rick Gagan, Jennifer (Dr. Robert) Buckmire, Robert Dwarkin, Michael (Debbie) Gagan, Kathleen (Walter) Hawes and Robert Gagan. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star Ina J. Reid Chapter, where she held many offices including Worthy Matron. She worked as an office manager at Ryerson Steel in West Allis for 42 years, was a member of the Quarter Century Club and a member of the Friendly Folks Club at the YWCA.

Dorothy was a 1920 valadictorian graduate of Waukesha High School and a Golden Pioneer of Carroll College ,class of 1924. She was also an avid bowler.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Ave., Waukesha. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Prairie Home cemetery.

Kathryn A. Nelson
GREENFIELD - Kathryn A. Nelson (nee Owen) passed away Oct. 30, 2000, at the age of 56.

She was the beloved wife of John L. ‘Jack’ Nelson, and dear stepmother of Kathy (John) Horn, Kimberly (Tom) Miszczak and Kenneth (Janice) Nelson. She is also survived by 10 stepgrandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Skubal-Slattery-Koelsch-Larson Funeral Home, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis. Private cemetery services will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Joseph P. Schmitz
WAUKESHA - Joseph P. Schmitz, 92, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Franciscan Woods in Brookfield. He was born on Sept. 6, 1908, in Duplainville, to Fred and Bertha (nee Westphal) Schmitz. On June 8, 1935, he married the former Frances M. Beno who preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 1998. Mr. Schmitz worked at Mobil Oil Company for 40 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 45 years.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Susan K. Schmitz of Waukesha, and his sister, Irene (Joseph) Hunnewinkel of Sarasota, Fla. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles, and his sisters, Annetta and Clarice.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, with the vigil service at 6 p.m. at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Services continue on Friday, Nov. 3, with the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 Hartwell Ave. The Rev. Brian Mason is officiating. Entombment will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Wisconsin Memorial Park. If you would like to join the family, please meet at the cemetery.

Grace Sindelar
HIXTON - Grace Sindelar, 93, of Hixton, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Waukesha, where she had resided for one year.

She was born on June 26, 1907, in Springfield, to Charles and Minne (Sponholz) Schinke. She attended teachers college at Whitewater, graduating in 1929. She married Charles F. Sindelar on July 12, 1938, in Springfield. She was a teacher at Black River Falls High School for 10 years, teaching classes in business. She and her husband owned and operated the Sindelar Hardware Store in Hixton from 1946 until 1971. She was active in the Hixton United Methodist Church, having served as church organist, Sunday School superintendent and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Jackson County Historical Society and the Audubon Society. Her many hobbies included bird watching and feeding, gardening, knitting and crocheting, sewing, quilt making and calligraphy. She was also active in studying the genealogy of both her family and the Sindelar family. She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Grace is survived by her husband, Charles F. Sindelar of Waukesha; two sons, Charles R. (Mary Ann) Sindelar of Waukesha and James (Iris) Sindelar of Concord, N.H.; one daughter, Ethel Klemsz of Ithaca, Neb.; one brother, Warren Schinke of Lake Geneva; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Grace Sindelar will be delayed until 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Hixton, with burial in Riverside cemetery, Black River Falls. Friends may call at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton on Friday, Nov. 10, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star service. A second visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

Elizabeth A. Billiat
WAUKESHA - Elizabeth A. Billiat (nee Belgarde), of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at the age of 64.

She was the beloved mother of Nickie (Bernie) Neu and Steven (fiancee, Laura) Billiat; sister of Duane (Kathleen) Belgarde; niece of Margaret Belgarde; and close friend of Keith Sterling and Sharon Thompson. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Private family services will be held.

GREENFIELD - Kathryn A. Nelson (nee Owen) passed away Oct. 30, 2000, at the age of 56.

She was the beloved wife of John L. ‘Jack’ Nelson, and dear stepmother of Kathy (John) Horn, Kimberly (Tom) Miszczak and Kenneth (Janice) Nelson. She is also survived by 10 stepgrandchildren, other relatives and friends.
