Robert Joseph Kramer
BELLA VISTA, ARK. - Robert Joseph Kramer, 42, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 10, at his home in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born Feb. 28, 1958, in Milwaukee to William and Patricia Kramer.

He moved to Bella Vista three years ago from Waukesha. He was a 1980 graduate of Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill. He enjoyed billiards, golf, fishing and hunting. He was a systems consultant for Keane, Incorporated, formerly known as G.E. Medical Systems, for 12 years.

He is survived by his parents, William R. Kramer and Patricia L. Kramer of Bella Vista, Ark.; paternal grandmother, Emma L. Kramer of Elcho, Wis.; two daughters, Jessica L. Kramer of Sheboygan and Michelle A. Kramer of Sheboygan; one brother, William F. Kramer of Waukesha; three sisters, Andrea L. Brew of Richmond, Va., Jeannette M. Bjerke of Waukesha, Patricia L. Koscinski of Big Bend; one niece and three nephews.

A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark. with Father Joseph J. Enderlin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Regional Hospice, 4241 Gabel Drive, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703 or to the Multiple Schlerosis Foundation, 6350 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., 33309.

Harry A. Sugden
MUKWONAGO - Harry A. Sugden, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at LindenGrove Health Care Center in Mukwonago. He was born in the town of Genesee to the late Joseph F. and Elsie M. (nee Torhorst) Sugden on Oct. 26, 1913.

Mr. Sugden was a 1932 graduate of Waukesha High School and a 1939 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He began his teaching career in Iola where he taught business education, and also served as the band director. During his teaching career he also taught at Cedar Grove High School, Orfordville High School and lastly at Horicon High School, retiring in 1977 after 22 years of dedication to students. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Waukesha and a former member of Genesee Congregational Church. Mr. Sugden was Past Master of Neosho-Mayville-Horicon #108 Free & Accepted Masons, and was also a member of LeBelle Chapter #40 Order of Eastern Star, Mukwonago.

He will be sadly missed by his sister, Josephine Sugden of North Prairie, and his niece, Mary Lou (Phillip) Scott of Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Laurel, and a nephew, Charles.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Monday, Nov. 13, at First Congregational Church in Waukesha. The Rev. Howard Bowman is officiating. Burial will take place at Prairie Home cemetery.

Memorials to the First Congregational Church or to the LaBelle Chapter #40 OES are appreciated.

Mildred E. ‘Millie’ Weber
NEW BERLIN - Mildred E. "Millie" Weber (nee Heyen), 87, of New Berlin, passed away at her home Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, with her husband of 59 years at her side. She was born to Charles and Anna (nee Schmidt) Heyen in Milwaukee. She attended McKinley Grade School and Girl’s Technical High School.

Millie and Otto were married Aug. 31, 1941, and resided in the town of Waukesha. In 1949 they moved to Lawnsdale Road in New Berlin and lived there until her death. Millie worked at Herbst Pharmacy for over 20 years and retired in 1985. Previous to Herbst’s, she worked at Waukesha Memorial Hospital as a scheduler for the nurses. Millie loved her garden; she got a special joy from the evergreens she and Otto planted, along with the many flowers that adorned their house.

She is survived by her husband, Otto; two loving children, Gary Weber of Milwaukee and Darlene (Herman) Lange of New Berlin; her two dear grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Lange and Shannon (Robert) Drought; and her two sisters, Viola Webster of Michigan and Annabelle Grunert of Brookfield. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Millie was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the St. Mary’s Christian Women.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at Rudolph Larsen Bros. Funeral Home, 500 N. East Ave., Waukesha; Sr. Jeanine Retzer officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The committal will follow at St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Marvin W. Zieher
WAUKESHA - Marvin W. Zieher, of Waukesha, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. He was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Arpin, Wis., the son of Otto and Kathryn (nee Proesel) Zieher.

Marvin was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha since 1959. He volunteered at the church and also helped count money. He worked at Don Jacobs Buick, Salentine Buick, and for 10 years worked for the Wisconsin State Patrol doing maintenance. He enjoyed birds, squirrels and working outdoors.

He is the beloved husband of Shirley M. (nee Hodges) Zieher, whom he married in 1951 in Marshfield. He is the dear father of Susan (Timothy) Mathews and Thomas (Christina) Zieher, all of Waukesha. He is the grandfather of Amanda Mathews, Tracy Mathews and Jason Zieher. He is the brother of Harold (Dona) Zieher of Arpin and Glen (Jean) Zieher of Wisconsin Rapids. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Ida Hodges of Marshfield; his brother-in-law, James (Judy) Hodges of Michigan; and his sisters-in-law, Judith McGivern of Marshfield, Joyce (Bill) Wiesenthal of Waukesha and Cristel Hodges of Sheboygan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Kathryn Zieher; his father-in-law, Melvin Hodges; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Hodges.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1053 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha. Pastor Glen Schaumburg will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.

Margaret ‘Meg’ F. Bauer
WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Margaret "Meg" F. Bauer died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving children and dear sister Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the age of 75.

She was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Sauk City to Dr. Arthur T. and Erna (nee Ziegler) Johnson. Meg, as she was known to her family and friends, was a gracious hostess and gourmet cook who welcomed all into her home. Whether the visit was expected or spontaneous, one was made to feel an honored guest in Meg’s home. Her grace and generosity of spirit was passed on to all who knew her and her warmth and special touch will never be forgotten. She was an avid bridge player, quilter and artist. She was always generous with the fruits of her many talents. She will also be remembered for her generous work with Waukesha Service Club and Patched Lives.

Meg is the dear mother of Frederick (Jennifer) Bauer, Susie (James Pease) Bauer, Janis Bauer, Kathryn Ingrelli, David (Colleen) Bauer and Martha J. (Ken) Odegard; sister of Marie (William) Vanden Brook; loving grandmother of Mathew, Katharine, Michael, Theodore, Frank, Kyle, Andrew, Stephanie and Lauren; and dear friend of Marion Chapman and many others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Johnson.

Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. in Waukesha. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Anthony on the Lake in Pewaukee. A private family burial will be held Friday.

Memorials may be made to ProHealth Home Care Roland Nelson Crossroads Hospice, 1020 James Drive, Hartland, WI 53029, whose loving kindness was such a comfort to Meg and her family.

Gertrude M. Chatfield
WAUKESHA - Gertrude M. Chatfield, 91, of Waukesha, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the Waters of Westmoreland. She was born Jan. 19, 1909, in Summit to the late Robert and Clara (nee Krueger) Buske. On April 2, 1927, she married Clarence Chatfield, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was a member at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church since 1940.

She is survived by her children, Bruce (Iris) Chatfield of Cataract, Dolores (Jerald) Buchan of Waukesha and Ronald Chatfield of East Troy. Also surviving are her brother, Erwin (Joyce) Buske of Beloit; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Ruth; her grandson, David; and her great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 4 p.m.until the 7 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. The Rev. James McCammon will officiate. Graveside services will be Thursday, Nov. 16, at Little Prairie cemetery in Eagle. Please meet at the cemetery at 11 a.m.

Haines H. Lycan
WAUKESHA - Haines H. Lycan, 75, of Waukesha, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born July 1, 1925, in Paris, Ill., the son of the late Daniel and Lois Lycan.

Haines served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Dresser-Waukesha Engines after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Old Timers Club at Dresser. He was a 47-year member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He married Joyce (nee Rohda) Lycan in 1950. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers, Arion (Marion) Lycan of New Berlin, Arnold Sr. of Rockville, Ind., Pauline Scott of Phoenix and Idelene Barnette of Philo, Ill. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Schmidt & Bartelt-Van Valin Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Mukwonago. The Rev. James L. Wilch will officiate. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery in East Troy.

Philip W. Martin
MAYVILLE - Philip W. Martin of Mayville died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 82. He was reunited in heaven with Marjorie, his wife of 58 years, who passed away Aug. 6, 2000.

He was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Stanton, Neb., to the Rev. Philip and Marie (nee Schoenhals) Martin. He married Marjorie E. Uber on June 20, 1942, in Milwaukee.

Philip was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hartford, Mayville Historical Society and the Maysteel Quarter Century Club. He graduated from Winnebago Lutheran High School in Fond du Lac and from the Dodge County Normal School. He was a supervisor and a safety inspector during his many years at Maysteel. He loved gardening, pitching horseshoes, bowling and singing in the church choir. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his three daughters, Mary Lynne (Alan) Schultz of Cedarburg, Jo Ellen McAvoy of Waukesha and Jane Martin of East Troy. He is the dearest grandpa of Scott (Kathy) Schultz of Fish Creek, Todd Schultz of Madison, Chad (Julie) Schultz of Kewaskum, Erin (Tom) Saeger of Austin, Texas, and Megan McAvoy of Whitewater. He was the proud great-grandpa of Taylor, Devan and William Schultz. Philip is further survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie; two sisters; three brothers; and a granddaughter, Heidi Schultz.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, with the Rev. Edward Freese officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Hartford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Winnebago Lutheran Academy or St. John’s United Church of Christ in Hartford are appreciated.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who cared so compassionately for Philip.

Lavina C. Ney
TOWN OF MERTON - Lavina C. Ney (nee Schmitz) of the town of Merton passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at the age of 82.

Lavina was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and the Kettle Moraine Senior Citizens as well as a former member of St. Charles Ladies Guild.

She was the loving mother of Harriet (David) Bussewitz of Stone Bank; dear grandmother of Brian; and fond sister of Eleanor Weyker of Belgium, Henry (Carol) Schmitz of Grafton and Mary Jane Fechter of Random Lake. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her brothers, the Rev. William Schmitz, Alfred Schmitz, Marvin Schmitz and Roman Schmitz; and her sisters, Loretta Weyker and Vernita Sinnen.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland with the Rev. Romanus Nwaru officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Charles cemetery. Memorials to the church are appreciated.

Katherine E. Bielawski
WAUKESHA - Katherine E. Bielawski, 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000.

She was the dear mother of Blair (Cathy), Kathi (Mike) Toll, Bruce (Sue) and Blain (Randi); and grandma of Courtney, Abby, Seth, Jake, Ray and one grandchild on the way.

Katherine was a teller at M & I Bank where she made many friends with her colleagues and customers.

Visitation was held after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Wisconsin Memorial Park-Chapel of the Flowers, 13275 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, with a ceremony at 11 a.m. A private entombment was held.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Intensive Care Unit nurses at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Intensive Care Unit of Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Church and Chapel Funeral Service, 549-0659, assisted the family with arrangements.

Linda H. Neumann
PEWAUKEE - Linda H. Neumann (nee Heil) of Pewaukee, was called home to be with her savior Friday, Nov. 10, 2000. She was 50.

She is the beloved wife of Kenn, the loving mother of Bobby-Jo (Tim) Ness of Kenosha, Samantha (Craig) Sobocinski of Milwaukee and Kristina Neumann at home. She was the dear sister of Hal (Jo) Heil of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Carol (Mike) Krug of Oconomowoc. She was the proud grandmother of Ben, Brock and Bethany.

Linda’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff of Community Memorial Hospital for their dedicated love and care, and a special thank you to Dr. David Blake and his nurse, Rita.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 111 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. Pastor Richard Krause will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Yonke and Son Funeral Home. Private interment will be at Forest Hill cemetery, Pewaukee.

Lawrence E. Sargent
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lawrence E. Sargent, 88, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, in Martinsburg, W.Va. He was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Ada, Mich., the son of the late Dexter and Emogene (Hoffman) Sargent.

Lawrence was retired as a machinist and was a former vice president of Local #1677 Machinist Union.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Robert L. (Anneliese) of Martinsburg, Bill (Darlene) of West Allis and John D. (Rose) of West Bend; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family, preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Nov. 14, at the Claussen-Bouslough Funeral Home, 416 W. Lake St., Lake Mills. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15. Interment will be in the Rock Lake cemetery in Lake Mills.

WAUKESHA - Helmut Bolk died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at his Waukesha home. Funeral arrangements are pending with Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 547-4035.

Mildred Maertz
MADISON - Mildred Maertz (nee Duda) of Madison, formerly of Pewaukee, was born to eternal life Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at the age of 92.

She was the loving mother of Joan Stockman of Madison and Tom (Terri) Maertz of Las Vegas; and fond grandmother of Jesse, Ashley, Troy and Chad Maertz, Stacy (Ryan) Mayer, Kelly Krawley, Victoria Tyrrell, Steve and Michael Stockman. She is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew, and other relatives and friends. Her husband, Claremont, her sister, Helen, and her brother, Joseph, preceded Mildred in death.

Mildred was dedicated to her family, loved bowling, playing cards and boating.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee; Pastor Donald Koehn officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Graceland cemetery in Milwaukee.
